On several occasions I have been waiting for copies while the lady at the shipping desk is just standing there and the manager overcharged me and when I asked if prices went up she told me to come back in so she could take a look, which I don't have time for all that just charge me the right price the first time, also she'd rather put the receipt on the counter instead of giving it to me in my hand. From the moment I walked through the door, Persephone greeted me with such genuine warmth that I honestly felt like I had been coming into your store for years. I recently moved here from Phoenix, Arizona, where I became accustomed to being charged for practically every piece of tape, breath of air, and possibly eye contact -- so imagine my surprise when Persephone simply helped me tape up my box and made sure I was completely taken care of. But the tape isn't really why I'm writing. Your store was busy. There was a line, it was Saturday, and Persephone appeared to be handling an incredible amount of it practically by herself. Yet somehow, she never made me feel rushed, overlooked, or like I was just the next person in line. In fact, I barely even noticed the line. That is a gift. She stayed calm, cool, funny, quick-witted, professional, and completely in control of the room. She made me feel important while simultaneously taking care of everyone else. I walked in needing to mail a package and walked out in a noticeably better mood. She literally turned my day around. Greg, I don't know what Persephone's long-term plans are, but I can tell you this: that girl is going places. Employees can be trained to operate a register, ship a package, or follow procedures. You cannot easily train someone to make strangers feel genuinely seen and welcome while gracefully managing a crowded store. That's character, personality, composure, and exceptional customer service all rolled into one. So, Greg, from one very impressed customer: recognize this woman. Keep her. Invest in her. And if I were you, I'd seriously consider giving her a raise before somebody else realizes what you've got. Persephone, if you happen to see this: thank you. You made what should have been a completely ordinary Saturday errand memorable, and you reminded me how much one person's kindness can change another person's day. Arvey in Little Rock is a paper geek's paradise. Paper, paper and more paper, all types colors, styles, textures. And if you letterpress they have supplies and ink, I think they're hooked up to the print gods because even if it's not on the shelf, they can get it quick. The store manager Sharon is so helpful and knowledgeable. They also have tons of other stuff, boxes and bags, office supplies, etc. If you didn't know it was there you might pass it right by so look closely you won't be disappointed. read more
