My wife has been going to Mike White for her sewing machine repair for years now. She uses several…read moremachines and is into quilting, so occasionally, the machines get jammed with thread and fabric and just don't work properly. Mike used to work with the Singer shop in Greenwood, but has his own business now out of his home in Coatesville near Heritage Lake. It isn't the easiest place to find, but I will give some specific directions below to help make it easier if you are in need of a quality repairman for you sewing machine. My wife wanted me to mention that Mike is very fair when it comes to pricing and he gets the machines fixed and ready to go much faster than any other repair shop she has been to. I highly recommend that since he repairs out of his home that you call before heading over to make sure he is working that day. Normal hours are 9-6 Mon-Fri, but it depends upon work load and family needs. I think that is reasonable to expect a lone repairman to have a life in addition to his job. Anyway, we dropped off my wife's prize machine today and she has full confidence that Mike White will take care of the problem in a timely fashion. Okay, from the metro area, head west on US36 passed Danville, New Winchester, and across US 75 to Groveland. Look for the BP gas on the corner and head south on county road 725 E to Heritage Lake. Turn left on cr 600N. It will come to a T (turn right at the T). Mike's business/home is the 5th house on the right. See photo. They kept talking, saying they were dirty and come in a group like they want to take over the place. How bad it was for business and they were afraid they would scare away the good customers. Then they said it, they're black, not just black but foreigners. "Cant even speak good English, or at least pretend not to understand" Went on some more about " taking over, bad for business, and so on." I guess since I'm white they thought it was okay to spew their vile, hateful nonsense in front of me. News flash, not every white person in Danville is a racist. So if you think not mixing your whites with your colors applies to more than just laundry, this might be your kinda place. As for me, I will not be going back.

It is covered under warranty, however the repair has to be done at the shop and the parts can not be given to the customer under warranty to fix themselves. With my schedule full as Coach, delivering the equipment is not feasible any time soon, so I requested a pick up. I was told that transport would not be covered under the warranty from the manufacture. Understood, but as a service and sales business I would think extreme ownership would be the culture. You sold the equipment and it broke due to faulty parts, and the resolution is to inconvenience your customer and force them to pay more money for transporting the equipment you sold for something that is covered under warranty. This is pretty poor service and lack of ownership to correct an issue.

I'd left a message b/c our washer had stopped working. He called back in less than an hour and listened as I explained what the problem was. Tracy stayed on the phone with me for close to an hour while he had me run the washer thru a rinse cycle. He didn't want to hang up until the cycle was completed so he'd know the machine was fine, which it was. He explained that sometimes the 'board' just needs to reset itself after the machine had been unplugged for 45 min or more, which we had done earlier. Tracy is a one-man operation and if I could give ten stars here I would! He could have just as easily come to our home and done everything he had done over the phone and charged us for a service call. Instead he walked me through what he thought needed to be done step by step and all was fine. I did a load of wash after we ended the call without any problem at all. I would most definitely recommend Tracy with Charlie's Appliance Svc. 100%. Any appliance issues I may have in the future, I will definitely be calling Tracy!
