If you are a mom in Vegas, and you aren't going to this consignment sale, you are missing out! Our daughter is 16 months, and we went to "As They Grow" on a recommendation from our sitter. Almost all of her clothes have come from here. If you know babies, they grow out of their clothes before they can wear them very many times. This sale sells used children's clothes, toys, baby gear, etc. Typically, baby clothes are anywhere from 2-6 dollars (in my experience). I have also been able to get really nice shoes that have hardly been used. The sale is nicely organized by size and type of item, and I have found it easy to navigate. I would highly recommend checking it out- especially for new moms (great deals on strollers, cribs, pac n plays..) My family has saved a lot from shopping through consignment. Make sure to check their website or Facebook page for their pop up dates! Tip: Bring something to shop with! I usually bring a wagon to roll around the sale, but you would at least want a bag! read more

I went here to unload a few pair of gently used kids shoes that my niece has out grown only to find it cost a $2 entry fee and from what it looks like if you want to sale you have to sell the items yourself. The As They Grow sales are one of my FAVORITE things about being a mama in Vegas. My friend introduced me to them a few years ago and since then I've been hooked. I've volunteered multiple times and shopped probably too many time The prices are set by individual consigners, so they don't have control over pricing, they have a Facebook group where people are happy to offer guidance in pricing (ATG Consigners club). And as a result, you can get GREAT deals on so many baby, kid, and teen items. They stock just about everything from shoes to clothing to toys, games, blankets, bottles, cribs, and so on. In fact, they just started doing a Home sale where you can buy and sell a TON more things besides baby and kid. I've had nothing but fantastic experiences, shopping, selling, and with the people who run it. To any parent in Vegas, this is WELL worth the drive! I always recommend shopping sooner for the best deals, but I've definitely gotten some great deals and quality pieces on the days after, so don't let that deter you. The biggest recommendation I have for buyers is to plan TIME to shop WITHOUT kids if possible! It can be incredibly rewarding to shop without time constraints and look through all the items (most especially clothing for me!). It's super organized too, there are sections for everything. This was my first time to this event. I read the past reviews prior to going and they enabled me to be prepared and have realistic expectations. Here is my cumulative advice: 1-Bring a bag to shop with. I used a reusable bag I got from Walmart. Some Moms used play wagons! 2-Get a free pre-sale pass. If you sign up for ATG automated texts you are able to get one. 3-Don't wait for general admission. I went to the new parents pre-sale and stuff was already beginning to look picked over. They only had been selling for one day prior! 4-Look at the price tags! Each consigner prices differently. You can find the same toy in the same condition for cheaper if you look! 5-Don't assume you are getting a deal. Research what you are looking for ahead of time and know what the item goes for. I was looking for more cloth diapers (I have an obsession) and if someone didn't know what they go for they would walk out with a used diaper at the brand new price. Don't be fooled because it's a consignment sale everything is priced right. 6-The lowest price anything goes for is two dollars. This is an ATG rule. 7-Lines are long and the atmosphere is borderline chaotic. Bring a friend (I brought my husband) to help you hold a spot in line. I will definitely do this again! I was able to get two toys, two reusable cloth diaper pail liners, two swim cloth diapers, and 50 brand name breast pads for $20. read more

I have been a co-signer and buyer for many sales. But this last sale was the last straw. Its seems like these ladies get more belittling and greedy over the years. I walked in with a rack of clothes and one lady looks at me and said, "be prepared to get chastised!" I didn't think anything of it at first. Lisa pulls me to side and tell me, "we need to talk" as if I'm a child. She didn't like the way I hung adult jeans on the hanger. I have seen her do this to other mothers, but this time it was me. Ive done this sale several times over the years and here's my advice about it Sellers Price stuff low and put multiple items together for better chance at a sale No tagging guns which I think is dumb, but they're against them. If it's valuable and small enough to steal, someone might steal it. Put tape over safety pin to make it more difficult to switch or remove tags. Tape bags and stuff closed. Put unique tape or ribbon on your hangers for easy pick up. Buyers Get ready to wait in line cuz it's nutty. I went to shop one year and looked at the line and just decided to go to toys r us instead. Lol. Bring a wagon or cart of some type to shop with. Make sure you let them know it's yours upon entering. They really have everything you could ever want, except outdoor toys go fast. read more

I have been selling at and volunteering at various consignment sales since my 21 year old was a baby and ATG is simply the BEST!! It is run by amazing women and the fellow volunteers are like family. I miss everyone between sales!! Prep, drop off and pick up take time and energy, but it is SO worth it!! Tips: don't pay the $2 admission fee, just FB check in to get in for free. If you want big ticket items like strollers for cheap....buy the VIP pass for $20 to get in early or consign. Or stalk the website to get in for the new mom presage. Great deals if your willing to do some digging. Got a fisher price jungle playmat for $15 in almost brand new condition. The normal retail is $50....I should know since I went and returned the one I just got from target :). Most of the items are used but you can definitely find new with tag items or lightly used items. I also got goumikids mittens for $1.50 each pair and the normal retail is $12.00 a pair. I also got a car seat canopy cover for $3 and a boppy nursing cover for $6. There's an overwhelming amount of kids clothes, if you have the patience to go through them. I bought two holiday dresses with tags still on them for $5 each. Probably best to go early Friday to get best selection or early Saturday since they restock in the evening. If your not too picky but want cheap clothes...I'm guessing the Sunday 50% off sale will be the best deal! If you hate long lines to get in, don't go at 10am or if you hate waiting to pay ...this is not the place for you. Happy shopping! read more

A Pro / Con review of As They Grow's 2x per year consignment sale: 03/23 to 03/25/12. Pros: 1: They packed 80,000 sq ft with kids stuff and most of it is reasonably priced. 2: They had a good mix of boys and girls items. It wasn't biased towards more girls stuff as we've seen in other places. 3: Staff attitude: Service with smiles, and very helpful. 4: Parking. While a zoo at times, it's not bad either. 5: It's not just clothes. From infant items like bathing tubs to strollers to toys, they have all sorts of things. You really need to go in and look, don't assume they don't have something because chances are it's there. Cons: 1: It's already been cherry picked before you get there. Volunteers get first crack at the good stuff. Yes that's a perk for volunteering but still...it's been picked over. 2: Pricing. While we found a few good things in here at reasonable prices, some items were ridiculous. A bit of advice to the sellers: Just because it says "Gap" or "Childrens Place" on the tag doesn't mean you can charge full price or maybe $2 less than full price for the item. 3: Holes and stains. Whomever checked the clothes missed quite a few holes and stains in the stuff we looked at. Make sure you inspect your clothes before you purchase them. More advice: Look them up on Facebook and "Like" them. Then you get advance notice of when their twice yearly sale is happening. Next, go on a Friday if you can, Saturday if you have no other choice. By Sunday quite a bit of what's left is barely fit to pack up and send overseas or to recycle. But most of what's left is marked down to 50% off, price reduction is taken at the register. Also they do take Mastercard and Visa as well as cash. If you are a parent in Vegas this event is one that is worth your time. read more

Very disappointed in this sale! The prices on most things was outrageous! They were selling sample cans of formula (8oz cans) for $10 they crossed out the "not for resale" label with a sharpie... Really?! Isn't that illegal?!!! Most of the new born/ infant clothes are priced the same or higher then the big kids clothes, what kind of sense does that make?! Let's talk about the line to check out. It wrapped around the entire store! not so easy to walk so much when you're pregnant, not comfortable at all! I bought a Kate spade purse from this sale that broke the next day, it was complete garbage. Of course no returns. All sales final so when you get home and realize you bought garbage it's too late. This is seriously the BEST consignment sale I have ever gone to... I went to the baby sale earlier in the year and omg... now I'm addicted! I came to this one only twice because I have a new baby and it's hard to get out of the house, but the last two days, with sales of 25% and 50% off items, it's even more worth it than just going the first day! They have almost everything for new and older parents! Some items are brand new while others are gently used. I wish I would've known about these sales last year while I was pregnant! I could've saved so much! Maybe it's a good thing I didn't because EVERYTHING is cheaper than online or in store! You can get in free with a military if card (in a dependent) or if you're a new mom with a baby under 1 years old... or even if you check in on Facebook!! Come check it out when it's in town! Ok - so if you haven't heard of this place before - it's a HUGE hidden treasure for those on a budget (or those wanting to save the extra bucks). You do have to pay an admission fee ($2) unless you are associated with the military. There is another exemption but I forgot what it was already. A friend had referred me to this place, for the early access before it went to the public - and I was NOT disappointed at ALL!!!!!! I spent probably a good 2-3 hours rummaging through all the clothes, shoes, and strollers! Now to the pros and cons for this sale: a) Very easy to find - next to Toys R Us off of Meadows Lane - VERY hard to miss this lot! b) 80,000 sq ft crammed with goodies - premes, infants, toddlers, kids (mostly elementary age); bedding, infant supplies (breast pumps, gliders, strollers, bath tubs, wall decor, etc) It is a great balance of stuff really for what you are looking for! c) Staff - extremely pleasant, lots of smiles, and very eager to assist you (especially if you have that "I don't know about this one" kind of look on your face!) If you have big items you are going to purchase (furniture, strollers, etc..) you can pull the tag on the item, and then have it go to the back door for pick up later on after you check out! Checking out - staff are very friendly and willing to assist you if you have large loads.The day I went, i had more than I could carry out - but they were very accommodating to me by placing the bags with the gals at the exit for them to watch until I could load the other purchases up and have some extra hands! (had kid, stroller, and one bag to carry, while balancing another on top of stroller!) d) Rest Rooms available - and the ladies rooms is even set up with a couch for those moms who breastfeed. Cons: a) for the bedding supplies - most is already packaged up and taped up - so you cannot really do a quality check on it before you make your purchase. I found this out the hardway - as a couple of the sheets I had purchased had been worn down pretty badly to the point they had holes in them by the seams. Granted - ya can't see it - but makes me wonder how much service I will be able to get out of them. b) Get the advanced entrance! If you don't - then you will most likely not find the right things you are searching for. I didn't get entrance until 2pm - and a lot of good stuff had already walked out - but I was still able to find some great deals - just wish I had been there sooner! c) Be wary of the pricing some folks use! As most of this is 'hand me down' style - some people try to capitalize on the designer name, or the images. For example - found a cute bed set with the Care Bears logo - the seller had stated it was 'vintage' and was asking almost triple the cost of what it should have been for the wear and tear appearance it had. Another seller - had a toddler Christmas dress - marked at full market price - when it was clearly worn before, and was from this past Christmas' design. So - do look at the price tag before purchase! Extra Tips: As with any clothes shopping - make sure the clothes and shoes fit right on your wee one before you make the purchase! Double check your merchandise before you purchase! Some of the shoes and clothes - even though they look great at a distance - will have some stains, scuffs on them. ------------ Finally - they do accept credit (Visa or Mastercard) here on top of cash! Now if you don't think you are going to get your money's worth here - let me share what I had purchased! Full crib bed set (quilt, bumper, 5 wall hangings, wall paper decorative strip, 2 fitted sheets, mattress protector, dust ruffle, mobile); another crib bed set (quilt, sheets, wall decor); dust ruffle; 6 fitted crib sheets; 2 infant sleepers; 2 toddler X-mas dresses (1 formal, 1 all around); 2 sets of toddler shoes; 1 jacket; 1 coat; 1 leapster educational tool - books included; 1 Tinker bell sleep over bag w/ pillow; 1HK Bingo game; 3 - 4 winter clothing (jeans/long sleeves) outfits; and 1 baby trend twin stroller (fully assembled, no glitches, all parts) - all under $300 (you spend at least $150 or more for a full crib set at any retailer these days unless you are getting the last one in stock or something on crazy sale!) This sale used to be so incredibly great. But I'm sad to say they have really gone downhill. They now have so many pre sales, ( now you can buy your way into a presale, but I'm coming here to save money people! ) that by the time they open to the public there is truly nothing but junk left. I went right at opening this morning, (on opening day) and found 1 convertible car seat, and 1 high chair! Seriously?! I waited for an hour to look at 1 car seat? I think they need to get rid of the new mom presale. I need car seats and strollers just as much as a new mom....Plus it's so easy for people to abuse that presale. I mean, how do they actually verify that you are a new mom? Plus I feel the quality control has really gone down hill. A lot of the items seemed very dirty. I've consigned in the past and they used to be pretty good at filtering out the poor items and out of season clothing. But today I found tons of worn clothes and lots of stains. It was a lot of searching to find little worth taking home. If you can get in on a presale, then definitely go and find some deals. It's worth it then. Good selection and shorter lines. But ....if you can't get in on a pre sale, don't waste your time in my opinion. And if you happen to work and can't get there until Friday evening or Saturday morning...sorry folks, you are SOL because you will be scraping the bottom of the barrel to find even one decent item to take home. All you will find are items that none of the thousands of other shoppers wanted because they are either.... in too poor condition, or way, way overpriced. read more

I used to shop twice a year for my daughter, I followed them on fb to get all the details of next sales, then they stopped coming to Green Valley/Henderson area and it became difficult to drive all the way out there because you can't see everything in one visit as they continue promoting more items daily. Then I mentioned on their fb page of another place that sells used kids stuff to another mom who stated it was so hard to take a bus or find a ride all the way to the other side of town. Just trying to help hard working moms and single parents out who cannot make the trip out there, then the admin of the fb page blocks me! Wow I was very disappointed. To block me from viewing their page so I can no longer shop there! You won! I spent hundreds of dollars and probably would have still made the trip there, but the action of a butt hurt admin really changed me from supporting such even/sale. My advice, shop at Salvation Army in Black Friday! Beside they both have that thrift store scent. read more

Initially this was a brilliant, well planned pop up consignment sale in buildings that were empty due to businesses disappearing. They did one on the South side of the city and another on the North for a total of 4 times per year. As they grew they deteriorated. Now they just hold the sales on the North end and have so many gimmicks to get people to shop before it's open to the general public that, by the time the rest of us are allowed in, it's even more picked over than the thrift shops out here. The volunteers are extremely courteous but it's not worth the drive unless you just want to go for some disappointment. When it was on the South end it seemed that the goods were more focused on clothes and toys, it was especially good for toddler clothes. Even now on the North end they seem to have more strollers and car seats but the toys and clothes are disappointing. I can't find anything I would be willing to dress a nine year old boy in during the Saturday event. I doubt that we will return unless we happen to be in the area, which is extremely unlikely to happen. I think they have out grown their usefulness. read more

We looooove As They Grow!! I sell, volunteer, and shop. I have found so much great stuff at the sale and have saved sooo much money and got rid of a lot of stuff my kids outgrew. With my 1st baby I wanted everything new, but quickly learned how much use you really get out of it. It's nice to buy from the sale because you're helping other local moms. This is a great sale to shop at. My experience as a consignor was very poor. I spent a great deal of time prepping my items (toys and baby furniture) per their extensive guidelines, teaching myself how to use their tagging software, only to have most of my items refused at drop-off, for what I consider to be normal wear and tear. None of my items were broken, or missing parts - they were rejected for not having original instructions (who saves those?), slight fabric fade from sunlight exposure, etc. I paid the initial consignor fee, purchased new batteries for everything, spent several weekends prepping/cleaning/tagging my items...their guidelines encourage you to price everything very low...and then they take 35-40% of the total sale. I will be lucky if I end up reimbursed for all the batteries I bought. Not at all worth the time I spent. read more

They do great marketing which leads to a bigger check for me as a consignor. Items selections are not so great if you only come on the "Open for public" days, when they basically have left over items that are not so great and sometimes not priced right also. If you volunteer or shop on the Consignor night, you get better items. They're very organized administratively. Operationally, it just depends on the personality of their volunteers. Some of them are really nice while some of them are kind of rude. I lost a few items. Items were not sold and they were not returned. Checked the "lost & found" section when I picked up my stuff and I didn't find any of my missing items. read more

I'm so glad that they have this consignment for kids my children are 5 and 6 and I have been consigning with them for about 3 years now. It's a great way to get rid of gently used clothes and make a few extra dollars. I do price my clothing really low so that I don't have to go home with the stuff but I have noticed that some people will tend to price their items just as much as the department stores. I don't think they understand the concept of a consignment store. read more

Great sales! Since the prices are set by the people selling the items (not ATG) you need to really look around. But a lot of people want to sell their items for cheap and most even mark them down 50% off on the last day. As a seller, they make it VERY easy to sell your stuff. read more

Love the ATG sale. And I love telling my friends about it even more. Some have never heard, and when I bring them they wonder what rock they've been under... My kids have been growing like weeds this year, so I cannot wait to shop the Spring sale in March. I usually sell, volunteer, and buy. Even if I don't sell, I will volunteer. It is super fun to be able to see what is up for grabs, plus it is extremely convenient to shop early! I always bring my double jogger stroller minus the kids, so that I have plenty of room to put things. I leave my purse and home, and just bring my money and keys with me. All the volunteers are so helpful on the floor, and everything is in order by gender/size. As far as selling, I have sold in the past and have no complaints with the process. It's fast, convenient, and it's nice to make money then purchase stuff at the sale. Even when I don't think I am going to sell, I end up putting a few things together the night before the portals close and end up logging $400 worth of stuff. Definitely worth it! I like that you can see what you've made from the sale at the end of the day. read more
