You get a generous portion - depending on your appetite, you can get a couple meals out of it, for only $10! It's really convenient if you're getting gas at the Arco station, and there are a few small tables by the truck in case you want to eat there. Carne asada fries FTW. I showed up right as they opened and the customer service was excellent, patient and friendly. I knew I'd have to wait for the fries because they are made to order but it was only about 10 minutes, a small price to pay for hot fresh fries in my opinion. They have cozy seating outside the truck and I was able to pop into AMPM for some candy while I waited. I got the carne asada fries with extra meat and cheese, an extra $2 per item and well worth it. Absolute heaven; salty, creamy, tangy, crunchy, chewy, deliciousness. They use what seems like a hotdog sauce on the fries and nacho cheese. It's different from a lot of other places but I really enjoy the flavor combo. I highly recommend eating it right away because the sauce can make the fries soggy if you wait too long. My only suggestion (and this isn't a complaint) if you like your fries with more bite ask for them well done. Mine were a little softer than I would have liked towards the end because there was a lot of sauce, still delicious though. I was a little unsure about the amount of fries I got to begin with but I wasn't able to finish the plate so maybe my eyes were deceiving me or maybe I didn't "need" the extra meat after all. We tried the Carne Asada, Carnitas, Chili Verde, and Chicken tacos tonight for Cinco de Mayo! The Chili Verde was definitely my favorite since it was the most flavorful out of those three by far. My husband and I both thought that the Carnitas was good because it was really juicy, but we agreed that all of them besides the Chili Verde or just a little on the bland side and could've used a little more flavor. I was erring more on giving them a four star review, but I also want to factor in the fact that we had to wait for over an hour for our food. Have tried this business several times in the last few months and haven't been disappointed. Because of their name I initially tried the asada and it's good, very good. But their carnitas are better. One could ponder that I just like carnitas more than asada but that's not the case - a lot of times I find carnitas over-seasoned and not cooked properly - these guys have it down perfect - you can taste the spices but you can also fully taste the meat, which also has the perfect texture- crispy charred bits and super tender juicy bits all blending together amazingly with their fantastic green salsa. We've tried tacos, tortas, and sopes, all very good. The girlfriend likes their chicken but I suspect it's kinda boring compared to the asada and carnitas. The only reason it's a 4 star review and not 5 is because every time we've gotten the combo plate the rice isn't very good - usually feels like it's sat too long and dried out. Otherwise everything else here is high quality and the service is pleasant and helpful - worth driving out of your way to try. read more
