No no its not a go!!! warm welcoming but It wasn't enough…read morefor me. We went to eat some protein! We kept having to flag down a waiter or one of the people handling the meat carvings. The selection of meat was very basic. I def should have checked on that before considering going. We kept getting offered sausage, tripe and burnt chicken. All those meats were over cooked for my liking. We also got picana and asked for filet mignon asked for medium, came out ok but burnt edges. It made it hard to eat. The carving portions were small kinda annoying to have to constantly wait or flag down a server for more. The meat was bland not even a little salt and pepper. Just not it. The buffet part was def not up to parr either. The salads look unappetizing, old. Same goes with all or most of the dishes that were offered. Ceviche, pastas, meat dishes. The kid friendly options were ok but even my kids didn't approve the pasta. We also had sangria which was ok, tasted more like a sour sparkling water. We didn't get a drink menu so we just kinda asked what they offer and opted for sangria. They have a kids room with an attendant which was pretty cool. It's the only reason my kids want to go back. The ambiance is decent. Not too loud, TVs around gave it a bar feel a bit. I wasn't expecting that. I believe the place is priced a little more on the higher side for what they offer. It didn't meet my expectations in food or service. I think it would be helpful to keep a better eye on buffet food. Wilted salads are not a good look. Provide more communication on what is offered for protein in this case. I don't go to Tijuana too often but when I do, I try a new restaurant. Stay tune for the next one.

At the Paseo Chapultepec in Tijuana, there was still another restaurant that I needed to try. So I…read moreheaded out and had dinner at Bodega 8. The entrance, the dim lighting, the immaculate polished wood tables and upbeat music, elegant decor, and the chandeliers, all added to the inviting warm ambiance. So the stage was set and my evening began with the complementary chips (very unique, thick, crispy with a charred taste), beans and salsa rojo. A good start. It was important for me to try something different. So, I opted for the Esmeralda Shrimp that comes in a piping hot molcajete bowl. Surprisingly, the manager tried to discourage me from ordering this item. Maybe he knew more than me (read below). In spite of this advice, I stuck to my guns. The Shrimp is doused in a cilantro salsa verde with au gratin potato peel. Essentially, thin deep fried string potatoes. Also came with breaded cheese rolls (2 of them) sticking out of the bowl. The dish was overpowered by the excess of cilantro salsa (that had too much lime). For texture, there was too much cheese around and it took away the spotlight from the main attraction, the small shrimp (which were cooked well). I now realized that I had ordered the wrong dish. Oh well. Service was attentive and good.

I had a lychee cocktail to start and it was phenomenal! I also had the pulpo zarandeado and everyone in my party LOVED it (they all had a taste)! Will definitely be back!

The service is the best, it matters not if you don't speak Spanish, they got you. And besides the menu is very clear and you can just point to what you want. Inside is so pretty with lovely art painted on the walls. They usually include the tip in the bill so check for that. The staff is all very nice and they are fast. They know the menu and can help you. They even sell cakes and other baked goods. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. All of it is great. If you want American breakfast they have that, but even better is their selection of Mexican style breakfast. Their machaca is great. We love their carna asada with eggs and their combination plates for breakfast are the best. They even have a kids menu. The prices are fair and dollars are always welcome, or just use your credit card. All of their dinner courses are great. They have fantastic tacos, burritos and steaks and some great seafood. Parking is free. You have to go here.

Everything was extremely flavorful, especially the chicharrones they bring that are smothered in a red tomato sauce! I tried the menudo dish, which was super delicious and it definitely hit the spot! I also tried the chilaquiles that came accompanied with potatoes. We got the spiciest they have, and boy were they good! Not just spicy but well balanced! The server and manager were both very attentive and friendly. We were able to pay with our debit cards!

You'd think that they have this for the Americans, but don't overlook the sliders, they're not your usual dry burger sliders! They're al pastor sliders complete with pineapple! They also have cocktails and margaritas but I decided not to get alcoholic drinks this time around. The dessert section is huge. Each dessert is a bite-sized portion so you can try a little bit of everything! And of course the meats! I loved the beef, pork and the sausages that I got. For some reason, all the chicken ones didn't really hit the spot for me. They weren't bad though. The grilled shrimps were particularly juicy and good.

Parking here is no problem, they have a sizable lot, as well as valet parking. The place is pretty big, clean, and nicely decorated. One we got our table, we went to the salad bar area and got a plate of whatever items were going to complement our choices of meat. At the table, we got a tab where green meant we wanted to be offered a cut of meat, and red meant stop. I mainly went for the lean beef and chicken cuts. The meat options were tasty, and the variety at the salad bar was pretty good. At the tail end of dinner, we were offered cinnamon flavored pineapple, which is one of my favorites. This Brazilian steakhouse is on point. The staff here was friendly, attentive, and efficient. The meal was as satisfying as the experience here. I recommend it.
