Food was spectacular. We stopped in here for lunch and had to order dinner to-go after we finished our tacos. We shared a cucumber lime Agua Fresca and 6 tacos (about $30 total after tax): asada, pastor, pollo, California with chorizo, California with asada, and a gobernador (shrimp). Hands down the best asada - reminds me of that family BBQ type of asada. The California tacos with asada and chorizo were sooo good. Loved the combo of the Anaheim Chile with the meat. My husband said the gobernador was the best seafood taco he's had in a while. The tacos came with choice of house made flour tortillas, which were tasty, the corn tortillas were also good. Both red/green salsa complement the food well. My favorite is that the food is served with sides of sliced Cucumber, lemon and pickled onions. Cucumber lime Agua Fresca went great with the meal. Before we left we ordered burritos to have for dinner at home: asada and pastor. Both very delicious and filling, but I think the flavors shine through much better on the tacos. We also had a licuado de mango, and it was so delicious. It reminded me of the licuados I would have in Mexico when I was a kid. 10/10 would go again. Just check the hours ahead of time. From what I recall they are closed Sunday (and maybe one other day in the week?). On Saturdays they are open 1pm to 9pm. I can't quite recall the hours during the week but I belive he said 12 to 8? You don't place order at the truck; you order inside Fruti Hielo. After paying, take your receipt to the truck and wait for your food. x2 Tacos de Al Pastor (flour and corn tortillas): Good! The Mexicali-style al pastor had good flavor and was plentiful even with cabbage and avocado crema on top; a swipe of refried beans was added to the flour tortilla. Their corn tortillas are good, too. x3 Tacos de Cabeza: Good! All 3 tacos had a solid amount of cabeza with a little red sauce added. Speaking of the red sauce, it'll wake you up! It's one of the spiciest salsas I've had in awhile. Good stuff, though! Tacos come up a side of sliced cucumber, grilled jalapenos, grilled onions, grilled scallions, and a slices of lemon (would be nice if they gave lime instead). Bacon-wrapped Hot Dog: Solid. NEW MENU ITEM, SAME GREAT TASTE!...My wife recently heard that one of our favorite spots, Asadero Mexicali, added a new item to their menu, so she had to put it to the test. The new item is something that seems to be popping up everywhere and that's BIrria Ramen. Knowing from eating practically everything on their menu, we figured it would be good. Wow! We were blown away by the amount of flavor in the consomé, birria ramen and quesotaco. They have surpassed the competition in Ventura County, as well as neighboring counties. Our taste buds and tummies can attest to this. Without name dropping, we have recently had Birria Ramen with Quesotacos in Oxnard and Pacoima. And Asadero Mexicali beats them both! The best taco guys around! My family always uses Asadero for our parties. The meats are tasty. Tortillas are fresh and delicious. They have all the fixings. And the best part: they make quesadilla. Cheese is definitely the way to my heart. I love the option! They even put grilled onions per your request. Just delicious and always a winner for our guests! The workers are very nice and sweet. We had called and one of the workers said to text the order or go on Instagram and use the website to place the order in because it's quicker. We texted and didn't hear back from them, went on their website and it said they weren't accepting orders. 30 min later, we walked in to let them know we texted and someone texted us back not even a minute after saying it was going to take 20 minutes. By then it was already an hour of us texting the workers. There was maybe 2 other families inside that were eating already and all we ordered were tacos. We had a friend recommend this place to us too but not impressed with their ordering system or customer service. read more

The quesatacos de birria are the best I have ever had. They came with a consomé (small soup from the meat in the tacos) and that was delicious. The platter also had cooked onions and cucumber. It was all delicious. I had the agua fresca de pepino con limón (lime and cucumber water) and it was so refreshing on this hot day. It was full of flavor and not watered down. My cousin had the California tacos de asada, delicious! They put a roasted chile, cheese and beans on the taco. The lady taking our order was very nice. After we ordered we did have to wait a bit but its well worth it. Due to COVID their dinning is closed, so we took it to go. The food was packed in styrofoam and kept warm. read more

Holy sh**. This is the best Mexican place you can go. Family run, clean inside, everything is so good and well done. The staff who are definitely the kids are so nice and I've told them that this had to be the best Mexican food I've ever had. Being from Colorado you don't get authentic stuff so when ever I come to Cali i make it a point to come here. The Birria is amazing, the el pastor, the asada, the Horchata is so good an made daily. The food here is always delicious. You have to order your tacos in the juice place then pick them up at the taco truck. We had the asada tacos, they came with homemade flour tortillas like in baja, with avocado sauce and the meat was cooked al carbon. All tacos come with beans, cabbage and a avocado dressing. They are large and very fillings. They also add grilled onions, grilled jalapeño, lemons and cucumbers to the side. I've tried the tacos/Mulita con tortilla de harina and they're amazing. This is by far the best taco spot in Ventura County. Above all, their customer service was what really stood out to me. They made a small mistake but were super apologetic and fixed it instantly. I'm not sure about the history on this place but it seems that it's ran by the family and you can absolutely tell.
