I love how they have redone this place. I came here to grab Horchata and two tacos as a lunch from work. I love the decor on the outside how they painted it all black with the art artwork inside. It's all good vibes. It's almost like your mom and Tia cooking up a nice Mexican meal. Really great kind customer service polite, great tasting food. The Asada meat had a good cut. It was our first time dining at this wonderful restaurant. The woman who received our order was friendly, and very professional. My husband and our bestie thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered which was: two enchilada plates, a Huarache, and an order of nachos. It felt like we were enjoying a home cooked meal. I would have loved to have posted pictures; but our meals were far too yummy! They disappeared within a blink! We feel the price was extremely reasonable and our wait time was ultra minimal. Bravo!! Delicious spot! Family-owned. Food is definitely made with love. Building has the most beautiful, unique paint design outside. Also has beautiful wings on one side for a photo opportunity! My favorite memory is going on a rainy day for their caldo, which I believe alternates between caldo de poll & caldo de rez every other day. Window seat with the rain outside and the Liga MX game on the TV filled my heart and reminded me of Mexico & my grandparents. Really stands out as one of the best Mexican restaurants in Oxnard IMO. I drove a little far out to come here because I saw their Instagram trying to rebrand this place I suppose but I was disappointed. The hand made tortillas were alright nothing special lacked flavor. The inside was so beautiful though, it was decorated for day of the dead and it looked great to sit and enjoy but I'm not sure if I caught the woman in the front on a bad day but sheesh customer service is what lead me to my conclusion on not coming back or recommending the spot. The lady was almost bothered that people were ordering and was annoyed at my questions (they still had their day of the dead special up and I asked for single tortillas etc). Today I ordered two asada tortas. As I was eating mine it tasted ok not like usual. It was missing flavor as I got to the end of the torta I bit the last quarter of torta and found a hair. I have been eating here for about a year now. My favorite is the Carnitas burrito, but I also love that Pastor. The price point and value are outstanding. Don't get me wrong, my favorite taco truck is on Yucca/Saviers, but I think Fogata replaces The Old "Tacos La Costa" shop on Saviers. I used to go there everyday day in high school for lunch $3 would get you a burrito and drinks. They honer a military and first responders discount, another great reason to frequent this gem in south Oxnard. read more

Real food, as evidence by the locals who eat here. The horchata is probably the most realistic version of horchata I've had, the chile relano was great, prices are very, very good for the amount and quality of food. Service is great, albiet a little slow, however, you're getting good food, cooked while you're waiting (not something waiting in a bucket to be thrown on a plate). I had an excellent experience at this place! The hubby and I always passed it by and wondered if it was any good. Let me tell you, it IS good! Parking and seating is limited, but you can order to go like we did. This place is adorable, it kind of looks like you're walking into someone's house. And the food taste like your abuela made it! The hubby had a torta, which as HUGE for $5 and came with avocado no extra charge! Did I mention it was tasty too? I had two asada tacos with the mild green sauce, it was SO tasty! Even though it was a mild sauce, it still had a little bit of a bite to it. And I also had the caldo de pollo which was also a big portion for being the "small" size. It was very fresh tasting, I enjoyed it and hope to next time stop by early enough before the Menudo runs out (saturdays & sundays). We will definitely be back again! :D read more

I may have been in the wrong for assuming most nachos at Mexican restaurants would be the same (tortilla chips, beans , sour cream, cheese, and guacamole or pico de gallo). Getting off from work ,it was nearby so I decided to stop by and grab some dinner. Ordered Asada nachos with extra meat. To my suprise I get home all the nachos had were tortilla chips , canned nacho cheese and the meat which was terrible salty and tough.
