Decided to try this nal salon for the first time for me. I usually read reviews on places to make…read moremy decision to make an appointment & go there. Having said that, reviews here are mixed, but I decided to make an appointment to see for myself. Being my first outing out to have an overdue pedi since I've been homebound in back surgery recovery, I was excited to have a relaxed, pampering experience, which I did NOT get. I decided to go for the "deluxe" pedi advertised on their pricing board for $40, to which I also added on a paraffin treatment for an extra $8 as advertised. The lady that did my pedi, not sure of her name since she never really introduced herself so I'm assuming she was the owner, Jazmin's mother or sister. Pedi was uncomfortable & at times painful for me with rough scraping around & underneath my nails. So much so, that I STILL have a very sore spot underneath my big toe that now hurts with every step. Pedi was meticulously slow, couple that in a chair that didn't go back far enough for me to extend my legs comfortably, as the length of this pedi in this chair my legs were cramping up. These were the only 2 staff working & tagged team each other in my appointment. All I was having done for a mani was a cut/file down on my natural nails with polish & 2 fingers of nail art. Told this lady how I wanted my nails filed & the end result was uneven in both shaping & length. She asked me after filing the first nail how I liked it for shaping & it was good, however the rest were not. Now after the hand massaging & filing, she now goes to work on another client as now Jazmin takes over to do my polish & liked the nail art she did on my 2 nails. Checking out at the front, Jazmin now tells me the pedi is $55, to which she evidently raised the price from what was stated on her pricing board! Then the total changed 3 different times when I questioned it! From $100, to $103, then $110 that I was later told when I called back the salon afterwards for clarification since I was STILL confused at how she arrived at that total! I left a $15 tip on my card when I was given the 1st total of $100. Jazmin helped me get my credit card out of my wallet so the color wouldn't smudge on my wallet to which it did anyway, so she then cleaned it off, even though I was told my nails were dry, apparently not. As I was gathering my wallet, water bottle getting ready to leave, Jazmin then walks back to her other client, loudly announcing to her other staff worker that my total was$128 & that I left a $15 dollar tip, in front of the rest of the clients in the salon to hear. Totally unprofessional & inappropriate! Not sure if she did that to embarrass me or what, but I was appalled. I called her back once I was home for clarification on the total amount of bill & asked for a itemized receipt to be emailed to me to which she said couldn't be done, so she then verbally went over the pricing over the phone. When I questioned her pricing while still in the salon for her pricing discrepancy on the pedi, she said she would "throw in" the nail art on 2 nails for free, told her she didn't need to do that. So now on the phone, after her explanation of charges which now changed again, I did say to her....then your advertised pricing is then WRONG! To which she had no comment to that. I felt conflicted about giving a bad review, as I don't wish to admonish anyone's small business, but felt under these circumstances this should be made available for people to make their own decisions. Having said that, this was MY experience. From the noise level to her babies high pitched crying & little dog's yapping, coupled with the rest explained above, this was not the relaxed atmosphere I was looking to have. If anything, the whole experience caused me even more stress. Not to mention that the whole pricing debacle was in my opinion, unethical & deliberately misleading. Lesson learned that I will in the future will definitely ask to confirm pricing at any other salon I will go to in the future.
