This review is for Asante Lab ( Out patient care ) I could not find that business on Yelp, but hoping Asante staff will see this. First of all, I love many doctors and staff that work at Asante in other areas of this building. This is specifically going toward the outpatient lab, where I had bloodwork done. I'm not a wuss, nor a rude person, and I usually have a great time chatting while having blood taken. I am always very forward that I don't have great veins, but I've never had any issues. Today I went in for a LOT of bloodwork. The girl who was handling me was very unprofessional. When I first walked up, I felt uncomfortable because the desk where I am to put my arm to give blood was a MESS. The gloves looked pre-used because they were just thrown in a pile on the table along with napkins & a bag full of syringes etc. I have worked in health care so this was completely unacceptable for me. Secondly, after she told me I had a lot of bloodwork to do, I told her my right arm had the better vein - but she said no, this will work fine. . I trusted her and went with it. Who am I? Well, she decided to prick my lower middle arm ( forearm ) on my left arm which isn't great vein access. She insisted. Keep in mind I have like 12 vials to go... anyways, it wasn't a typical prick & pump the blood out. I could tell the needle was too large, as the friction inside the vein was causing extreme burning & pressure pain. I've never experienced anything like it before in my life. Because she chose to not listen to me, the vein & arm she picked STOPPED pumping blood into the vials. Half way through. By that point she was MOVING THE NEEDLE, Pressing on it - readjusting it from side to side which was acutely painful & seemed dangerous to me. Who am I to know? She had to call another lady over to try and help. And by that time the pain was so unbearable that I nearly fainted. I have regular blood draws, and have to get many taken at one time. I have NEVER had this problem in my almost 40 years of life. DO NOT GO HERE TO GET YOUR BLOOD DRAWN!!! read more

Next time, I will drive to Medford. I brought my wife in with an injured foot. First time in my life I have ever been to an ER with NOBODY in the waiting room. I understand how triage works. In this case, even if she had a snooty nose, she would have been worse than anyone else, as there was NOBODY here. So, instead, they made her wait until the place was full. This place is a joke. They do not care about people the staff is apathetic texting and bullshitting instead of getting people treated and then moved through the emergency room. During my four hours standing in the ER lobby waiting to be seen for what is most likely a bleeding ulcer - I witnessed an elderly woman with her knee ripped open wait for just about the same amount of time and was still there when I finally gave up and left. There was a child a girl with a broken arm that had been sitting there waiting for three hours and was still there when I gave up and left. There was a teenage boy with a broken leg that had been there before I arrived he still had not received treatment by the time I gave up and left. Absolutely shamefully disrespectful treatment from triage staff and nurse desk employees toward the people in the lobby. At about the three hour mark everyone was so sick and tired of this hospital shit that we were all laughing about it just to cope with it and sharing stories about how long we had waited to be ignored by the hospital staff And what did one big fat nurse at the counter have to say about it all? Poor him pity him nobody wants to be a nurse because of how they get treated. Your job is to treat people who are in the hospital sir not expect them to hug you and make your day. When you've got people with critical issues sitting in a lobby for 3, 4, 5 and six hours (the fat nurse actually said they've had wait times as large as 10 hours before) this borderlines on medical negligence. And when someone comes into the ER with an internal issue and you cannot assess it from the outside ranking them as a low acute issue because you can't physically see a broken bone or blood does not mean that person is OK. They insist patients ring the bell for assistance before they get up, but they don't respond to the call bell, then get snotty because the patient couldn't wait any longer (after ringing the 'call bell' two or three times) and sought out other help from a visitor or getting up without assistance. You cannot insist your patiences do their part and not cover your end of the deal! Unfortunately the alternative to a bad hospital is two or three hours travel time, by then it may be to late. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Absolute worst ER experience of my life. After six excruciating hours, I left feeling worse than when I arrived. Unprofessional, dysfunctional, horrible excuse of a medical facility. Dolly in Imaging was the singular exception--she was both competent and kind. God bless her--she's like a flower in a hellscape. I fully understand ERs get busy, but to hear personnel at the desk discussing pedicures for nearly an hour while a buzzer goes unanswered for 45 minutes (TWICE) is not acceptable! Adding insult to injury, being chastised for unhooking myself from monitors and painfully shimmying my way down the railed bed to make my own way to the loo. What...pray tell, was the alternative? Would they rather I had left a mess? Unbelievable! Unfortunately, due to their desperate nature, ER visits don't frequently afford patients the time to read reviews before seeking help, but my hope is to help at least one patient avoid a stint in this PTSD inducing trap of a hospital. The prior reviewer that describes "subhuman treatment" in the ER is perfectly SPOT ON. Yes, the place is likely understaffed and overworked, but it's no excuse for disrespectful behavior toward patients. I even heard someone reference me with the preface, "she doesn't do well in hospitals," and my response is...I do fine in decent ones! had a complaint about using a lift for my 95 year old mother who weighs about 115 pounds. made the nurses mad they confronted me right in front of her how she didn't respond to verbal commands. (she has dementia ) which the pain medication was also furthering the problem, then this big CNA Michael said here you can move her. I said I would and I want to be in on it anytime they move her. because I was the one who was going to help with her at home. and I was going to learn how. i helped them get my mom back into bed and Michael said sarcastically how was that? I said fine I have never been treated so rudely in a medical facility and I've been in plenty. and I will never come here again for any reason. The hiccup with the power going out didn't phase the staff in the slightest they were very sweet and reassuring that I would still be able to get my ct scan. read more

The emergency room is horrible. Watched a 98 year old woman sit in an uncomfortable wheel chair for 5 hrs when she finally had enough and asked to phone for ride home, she had hurt her foot. At least half of the people waiting have given up and left. We have waited for 5 hours and my husband came in here for heart and low low blood pressure. No one comes out and checks on people. So I've been a patient at this medical center (like I have a choice in this town) for 5 years. I went to Las Vegas to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my wife when we both caught Influenza A. I was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance with 104 fever. When I got back a week later I still wasn't felling right so I made an appointment with my doctor who was on vacation. I called on a Monday they made me an appointment for Friday. I said I could be dead by Friday so she recommended that I call at 8 am because the doctors leave some same day appointments open. The next morning I called at 8:05am to see if I could get one of those open appointments. The lady on the phone told me I had to be quicker than that as there are several people answering the phone and the 3 appointments were gone. I felt like I was calling in a radio station for free concert tickets. THE FIRST 3 CALLERS WILL GET OVERPRICED SUBSTANDARD HEALTHCARE! It was like they were doing me a favor meanwhile I pay $1225 for my wife and I in Obamacare plus the doctor's co-payment and any labs. It's a miracle these people haven't killed us yet. So far they have diagnosed my wife with liver failure, suspected cervical cancer, and at one point they wanted her to have a hysterectomy, which were all misdiagnosis. Thank God my wife demanded further tests and labs that we paid for that showed negative results for all these recommendations. Oh they did get my wife to get her gall bladder taken out for which they wanted to charge over $15,000 for. We got it done from a local private surgery center for $6000. I'll be moving back East soon where if I call my doctor that morning I'm in that afternoon and given the best medical treatment around. I've never had an experience where I have to be one of the first 3 callers to win quick healthcare. And if you don't make it well, awwww, try again tomorrow. My boyfriend went to the emergency room he has heart failure. He had a stroke right there at the hospital in the ER and they did nothing but accuse him of being on drugs which he was not. They even gave him a drug test and left him in the room alone for hours while having a stroke. They then admitted him and the only thing they would give him was morphine. They didn't have an IV hooked up for fluids no food for 3 days. Just kept giving him morphine. If a family member wasn't in the room with him at all times he would have had no fluids. He was so thirsty he started choking on his water and the nurse saw this and said I'll go get the morphine. If you want to be killed this is the hospital for you. We will be taking legal action. Medicare Patients Beware !!!!!!! I was prescribed Blood Work by my PCP to Asante Three Rivers. Before I took the blood test, I was handed and signed notice that services may not be paid by Medicare. This was in early December 2021. Since I had a history of specific medical issues requiring the blood work, I was not concerned since what was ordered was what was needed to be measured. ONE YEAR PLUS 3 DAYS LATER ......... I was notified by Asante that 2 tests were not covered. The 2 tests were necessary. I owed Assante. My phone conversation was if I didn't pay the bill it would be sent out for Collection. THIS WAS 8 MONTHS AFTER THE MEDICARE APPEAL DEADLINE!!! I was SOL. Several years before, I was the victim of Identity Theft by someone using my identity to acquire medical services (another Hospital Medical Clinic). It took months of my time to clear the matter up. Hospital Financial Services have no heart. I paid the bill. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Beware. I have learned now to check all medical transactions with Medicare. Next time I see a like form, I will refuse the test and look for an alternative or cuss out the PCP. read more

On March 20, my mother went to the emergency room at Asante Three Rivers. They were absolutely amazing with her. She was transferred into the IMCU ward. They were so loving and caring with my mother. They took such good care of her. Then she was transferred into the CCU. They were also absolutely incredible with my mothers care. After being there about a week she was transferred to the 3rd floor. By this time, my mother was on comfort care. The staff was extremely attentive to her needs. They showed love and compassion to my mother that was incredible. My mother felt it and responded well to them. I am so thankful for the staff at Three Rivers and will forever be grateful for showing my mother the love and compassion she needed. read more

Like too many hospitals, the priority is their liability risks and not the patients immediate needs. I was hit by a truck while riding my bicycle in the bike lane. I was giving something for the pain, but it was not effective and they refused to give me something stronger. I had no choice but to return later that day and did eventually get a doctor who would listen to my needs. I have no intension of EVER returning to this hospital. I did notice several employees that were unhappy, short tempered, and even down right rude and not surprised with their 2.5 rating. read more

So as you can see by my photos Asante Health Care or whatever you want to call it I would recommend running as far as you can away from this place my photos should show the black mold food quality came in with burn was admitted for treatment of that which was addressed 4 * in 3 days came in with alcohol so they the tribute everything to that and have pick and choose my diagnosis is upon impending discharge as you can see significant I'm being discharged with no pain meds and they have made a follow-up appointment 4 multiple days from now so being sent home with Librium but no pain medicine because I came in with alcohol in my system which apparently is a major major narcotic LOL so beware make sure you really need to be seen I would recommend going to the walk in clinic or any Clinic then the ER because if you get admitted here you're in big trouble read more

Had a reverse total shoulder replaced back in May...could not have had a better experience. From check in to check out, I was well taken care of by Dr.Bents and his staff. It was a one day visit to get the Surgery so no food reviews. The surgical team at Asante was very professional and caring. There was excellent communication with my wife all through the stages of the surgery/ recovery. That's it for now, I'm off to physical therapy. read more

My wife had a cardiac issue while in Newport Oregon on 6/20/2017 she went to ER in Newport and was treated for approx. three hours and released With instructions to get further treatment the next day upon our return home to Grants Pass. On our drive home we contacted several people at Asante in Grants Pass and explained the urgency. All we could get was a future appointment on July 14th. I guess we need to park our RV in Three Rivers parking lot and wait for my wife to go into full arrest before we receive treatment. At the moment we are at a complete loss. Three Rivers is really hit and miss with their care. It really depends on where your at in the hospital, and the doctor(which is most likely true for all hospitals) Having a work history in Nursing, I feel Three Rivers ranks a little low in the nursing department. Overworked, understaffed. I had my daughter in the birthing center via c-section in September and because of under staffing I was not allowed to see my daughter for about an hour after she was born. I thought it was ridiculous I had to have a nurse supervise me meeting my baby. We also had an issue with my son a few years ago. His o2 level was 84 and he was having an asthma attack(we were not aware at the time he had asthma) and they made him sit in the waiting room for 15 minutes before finally seeing him, at which time they heavily apologized(after I screamed at them for letting a 3 yr old sit for so long without being able to breathe correctly) because the triage nurse didn't list his condition correctly. The lab is speedy, and they have always been very gentle and professional with me, and my daughter who had to get blood drawn at 9 months old. read more

Touch nothing and use hand sanitizer often. Try not to breathe as they don't seem to have an obvious and ready supply of masks. This place is usually packed with your average assortment of beaten up meth heads and other odd people. The staff here are nice, but the wait time is horrible. Their expertise and skill level has been questioned by most people I've talked to that have gone there. For example, a lidocaine injection in the mouth should last 12 hours (according to the nurse), but only lasted 1. Perhaps it wasn't done wrong, I don't know, but either the nurse was wrong or the injection was incorrectly administered. If you are not in a serious emergency and can get to a hospital in Medford (such as RVMC), you would be best served to go there, even if you are closer to this one. read more

My Mom was admitted to Three Rivers with Stage 4 Cancer. It had spread throughout her body and the diagnosis was not good. The nurses, doctors and staff helped my mom and family through a very tough time. They worked with Hospice of the Valley in San Jose CA to get her moved to my home. I can not express enough my appreciation to the nurses and staff for all their help with my mother. They are the best! The facility is clean and the main lobby is like a hotel. Alright, so I was admitted to Three Rivers a couple of weeks ago for abdominal pain, and I must say that the care was fantastic! From the staff in the Emergency Department to the nurses on the 3rd floor, this is a great hospital! I was sent by the Asante Urgent Care for suspected Appendicitis, and was seen in the Emergency Department within 15 minutes of my arrival. Dr. David was absolutely wonderful, making sure that my pain and nausea were under control. The CT scan showed that it wasn't my appendix, but I was still too nauseous and in too much pain to be discharged, so I was admitted to the 3rd floor, Rm 330. While the surgeon on call wasn't great, (See my review of Grants Pass Surgical Associates for this fiasco) every other staff member in the hospital truly cared about me, and wanted to make sure I was comfortable every step of the way. I have to say, I was quite surprised at how great the care was at TRMC, and I will definitely return if I ever need emergency medical care in the future. It's good to know that our town has a great hospital. read more

There are to many patients and not enough doctors. You can spend up to 6 hrs in this place. 3 to 4 of the hrs are spent waiting to see a doc. The people working there are nice. But they need to get more docs in there. I will leave and go some where else. When you feel like total crap you dont want to sit there that long. I understand that their are sicker people coming in. But a lot of people lie to get back there. Just so they dont have to wait. That's wrong. They know these people are lieing. So take them back and if they are not telling the truth send them back out. I was born with the cord wrapped wrapped around my neck (3) times. Three nurse that delivered me was so uneducated and blind that she tried telling my birth mother that she needed to bond with her newborn. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED! First of all, the scheduling receptionist never returned my numerous phone calls asking to reschedule knee surgery that was canceled in March 2020 due to Covid-19. Again and again this place disappoints me!! Over and over!! Phone call after phone call! Letter after letter!! They felt the need to add my agitation to my medical record saying that I was drug seeking...when after over 2 years of visits to this facility and a few other Asante's. As a veteran I chose cannabis over opiates and signed off on my narcotics contract in 2014, but yet their nurse practitioner Tifanny Crane felt that because I was in the ER for six hours in pain that I was looking for pain pills! Even after submitting to a drug screen seeing that there was NO opiates in my system I still was classified as a 'seeker' Never getting to the root of the problem or even offering an ice pack after almost 6 hours I was agitated and I left; that was last year I have since been trying to get this stricken from my medical records and all I get is attitude no compassion no caring that their doctor did something wrong it's all my fault and my responsibility to fix it! What most of these 1 star reviews said . I am not from Grants Pass and most anyone can see this, I am from a large city on the west coast and not used to this sort of treatment . As a result I am leaving here a branded drug seeker which is causing me to not be taken seriously at any of the medical facilities in the area. This hospital and this area is BIG on branding most people a drug seeker . I was given the only diagnoses this facility is apparently able to give - anxiety and "pounding heart" - which in actuality turned out to be dysautonomia as a side effect of one of my long term medications. Anything more than a cold is way over these people's heads . They cannot even point you in the right direction . No matter how sick you are . I needed home health badly and assistance finding a qualified Dr in the area and the hospital social worker assigned to help me leaned over me and asked if I though he was "Deplorable" - I kid you not. If an official from the hospital contacts me I will be glad to tell them who it was . Anyway this inappropriate comment frightened me and I got no home health or any help - he wouldn't even answer the phone after that . My RN husband had to quit work to take care of me at home I am so disabled . I needed help - not scorn or a political litmus test to decide if I deserved care . That is a dangerous precedent . Like another reviewer said I would think long and hard about coming to the area if you are older or already need medical supervision of any kind.
