The people at the front desk have always been polite and welcoming to me. The staff has always treated me well. My PA, Julie Bogden, is wonderful. I find that if I schedule an early appointment I am usually seen more quickly. If your appointment is after eleven o'clock you may find yourself waiting for some time before you see the doctor. Emergencies happen and patients sometimes take more time than expected. But they don't rush you through and they have always treated me well.

Instead I had an…read moreabsolutely wild call with Tiffany at the desk the day of my appointment for an exam (Mon) where she berated me for not returning their Friday 11:37 am phone call by 2pm before they closed early for the weekend. I told her I was at work, but that was not a good enough reason apparently? She was calling to repeatedly flat out insist that my insurance was not through the company on the card I was holding in my hand, but was through HMA instead and that I needed to call them and sort this out. I repeatedly insisted that I had never heard of HMA and that it wasn't my insurance and that I was holding my insurance card in my hand and I was pretty sure it was correct. No, it was incorrect, she "wasn't trying to be argumentative" but it was absolutely incorrect and I needed to call my dentist to get my correct insurance information or I needed to call my real insurance company HMA and figure it out or I could have this insurance company that I thought was my insurance company call her and give her my information. But no, she wouldn't be trying to call the company whose card I was holding, she didn't have time before lunch. So it turns out that, yes, the card I was holding is in fact the card of my insurance provider and, yes, my dentist does in fact have my correct insurance on file and yes, they did send it to her, they just told her it could be looked up ON the HMA website. It's also the same, correct, information that I had to give them before I was able to book an appointment at Associates for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the first place. I'm really not sure how we ended up here at all. Tiffany called back to blame it all on my dentist but I let her know I'd booked with another oral surgeon instead and cancelled my appointment at AOMS. I get that misunderstandings happen, but to be argued with like that and have someone absolutely refuse to hear me out was a huge red flag for me. If that's how patients are spoken to and treated at Associates for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery - somewhere that practices sedation dentistry and actively advertises for anxious and phobic patients - if that's how Dr. Rajagopal & Dr. Savage conduct their business I can't have any confidence that I would be treated any differently while someone is literally operating on my face. (Jokes a little on them because I fully knew that I'm nearing the max on my dental insurance and would likely be paying cash for the procedure itself, I just wanted my dental insurance to cover what it could on the exam while I saved in the meantime. Congrats to the Dr. that will now be receiving a cash payment though!)

So I would say their work is of the highest quality there is. Just excellent. That whole place runs like a well oiled machine. They make sure everything happens how it's supposed to. They take care of everything and think of everything. Sincerely. At 62 years old, I have had a lot of dental work in my life. This place and this guy are the best there is OR among the others who are BEST. He's at the top of his game. I just can't say enough good about these people. I've hesitated to say anything negative about medical professionals here in the Rogue Valley…read morebecause we have such a shortage and so many problems. Originally when I got my procedure done here I let all the troubling things go, but now those things are glaring since I've seen other professionals as a follow up to my care. The difference was like night and day! I had an endoscopy at this center, and will say up front that the procedure went OK. That's the only reason this place gets 3 stars from me and not 2. It was mostly all the ridiculous lack of attention and professionalism that was most troubling, in addition to the fact that they missed things in the imaging that could have prevented me so much grief and discomfort. Greeting at the front desk was done by a woman that was ... well, there isn't a way to say this gently ... a combination of overly glammed-up and completely without concern for how the back of her head looked. In all my years on this planet, I've never been in a medical clinic and dealt with a woman who looked like she literally had a nest of something growing on the back of her head. I was stunned as she walked away to get something from the printer. Putting aside that she does her hair without looking at the back of it, it absolutely looked unsanitary! To top it off she fawned over my appearance and jewelry like we were sisters getting ready for a date ... ?!? I know staff members always have their individual ways of making patient feel welcome, but this was NOT that. It was simply unacceptable and unprofessional. Thankfully the woman who came to escort me back to the prep room WAS kind and welcoming. Unfortunately she was the ONLY ones who was. The doctor was OK, but not very informative. He seemed like he was ready to get out of there. That was also true of the nurse who came into the prep room to do my intake. She spent her time talking in low tones to the computer, asking me questions. I do NOT have hearing problems but finally had to stop her and tell her to turn to talk to me so I could hear here. She adjusted but seemed annoyed. She put mu IV in a very awkward place and it was uncomfortable. Her attitude was basically, "too bad"! And when she wheeled me into the procedure room, it was like bumper cars!!! And when I was finished, they were supposed to call my ride and confirm I could go, but that didn't happen. Thankfully he was monitoring and near by anyways. I sat in the outer waiting room as attendant after attendant took other patients out the door to an awaiting car. No one asked if I needed help. No one walked me out when my driver arrived. Geez ... I felt the whole time like I was treated like someone's hated EX-mother in law! I thought i was calm and happy to come in for the procedure, but when I left I was anything but that. All of these odd behaviors are not good, but what makes them now very glaring to me is that I've had followup with different medical professionals, and I'm finally on track with the issues that were the original cause for concern and the procedure. The point is that if that doctor and the team had given me all the pertinent information, I would not have spent the last several months suffering! It's disgusting to feel like a lab rat in a surgery center. Everyone has off-days, but this was way beyond that. This was a VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, UNACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE!!!

My daughter is deaf and they just take so much time with her and are so kind. In addition to that the doctors are well trained and truly concerned with their patients. We came from California where unfortunately Medicine is much different. The doctors are always in a hurry not terribly patient usually and it's definitely a different experience. I was immediately given tests by two EXCELLENT technicians, one of him were a name badge: Ramirez. Fortunately in the ambulance, I was given both IV sailine and an EKG, which was fine. The sailine IV restored me and it's a darn good thing! After the text finished with me, I was put in the giant almost empty waiting room of the ER and told it would be somewhere of between 6 and 24 hours before I could see a "service provider", which I think may be double speak for a medical doctor!!! Yes, you read that right. I was brought in by ambulance and I was told I needed to sit upright in a wheelchair for as much as 24 hours. Now some of you know me. What do YOU think I said to that????????? I politely said, "I am going home and going to sleep. Sleep heals me. What I am NOT going to do is sit up in a wheelchair or lie on the ER floor (which did not look sparkling clean but maybe it was just old) for as many as 24 hours hoping that s-o-m-e-d-a-y maybe I'll be seen by a medical doctor." The corporate management of Asante is, in my humble opinion, moneygrubbers who do not give a darn about patients. They have a demonstrated track record of that via the various lawsuits and out of court settlements they have had to make. I feel sorry for the doctors and nurses and other staff who have to work there. I am glad for all of the patients that have gotten good care because of the kindness, compassion, as skill of the people who work in Asante, including the good doctors as certainly all of the RNs and other staff who actually do their best to help patients. I wish we would get a different medical group here in the Rogue Valley. In the meantime, my husband and I are primarily working with Provident had receiving very good treatment.
