I had the pleasure of…read moreusing Louisiana Voice & Swallow Solutions to provide mobile FEES services for two of my home health patients. The results of the formal swallow diagnostic allowed the patient, family, Dr & myself know what was safe for the patient & if the patient needed further speech therapy services. For one patient, the results determined that the patient was able to return to eating & drinking & not need the feeding tube any more. For the other patient, who had just been hospitalized for suspected aspiration pneumonia; but they did not get a swallow assessment in the hospital, the FEES results showed the patient was aspirating on thin liquids & needed to be placed on nectar thick liquids to decrease the risk of aspiration Pneumonia. Having the FEES service in the home of each patient allowed for comfort and relaxation for each patient because it was in their own home which is a familiar environment & it was less stress for the family because it didn't required the families to find transportation to get the patient to a facility to have a test done. Due to Covid concerns at that time, having the test done in the home also decreased the risk of exposure to other illnesses. Nicole was able to view each patient consuming a meal which allowed for a more thorough assessment of their swallow function. She came out within 24/48 hours of receiving the Dr's order & had the report submitted shortly after completing the FEES to both her Dr & myself. The patients, families, Dr & myself have been happy with the services provided by Louisiana Voice & Swallow Solutions & I would recommend using Nicole for any Swallowing or Voice assessments.

I went for an MRI on my back from a car accident. My attendant was Tyler and he was great. I'm goofy all day every day, and I had many goofy moments, just like I always do. I had a weird emotional reaction when it was time for me to get on in the machine. But he reassured me everything g was fine and that I had no need to worry. I will say, do not underestimate how loud it is. They do give you earmuffs, but it's still loud thru it

When we arrive in the room she seemed a little bit agitated and tried to school me about being late I explained to her that I wasn't late and I had gotten a text saying the appointment was on Friday but still came today..... She asked me about surgeries I told her I had my right ovary removed after telling her that she was agitated bc I didn't know how long it's been removed and asked her what do they grow back?? She proceeded to say I don't wanna ge looking for something that's not there WELL MAAM YOU CHOSE YOUR OCCUPATION THATS YOUR JOB.... Then she said lower your bottoms hold your stomach up In my 46 years of life I never held my stomach during an ultrasound even after 10 kids are could it be she didn't wanna touch a brown skin lady..To end it all she told me that I didn't have enough fluids and he would have to reschedule my appointment had told me she was moving me til 11 and if I leave tell the front desk we'll ma'am if I don't have to be back till 11 am why do you care if im there after you treated me like shit .....Saying this to say Lindsey is not a good look for Baton Rouge General this was by far my most horrible experience

They made me feel comfortable and when I am in pain and half naked... feeling comfortable is important.
