When I crave a good burger, I go for their Cali Burger. Tuesday Trivia Nights: Tuesday nights are fun for me because they do trivia there. The entertainment from the other contestants at the bar provide a healthy combination of competitiveness and comradery. The MC that hosts the trivia is very respectful and takes his time to greet the patrons after each eventful night. He's got good vibes and may even cheer your team name as you walk into the bar. They just have to walk with an adult to the restroom in the bar areas. The food is made freshly on site. The menu is substantial and the portions are plentiful. The service is professional, proficient and personable.

It genuinely had that "Cheers" feeling -- the bartenders knew you, regulars became friends, and it was somewhere we looked forward to going for drinks and dinner after a long workday. Sadly, over the last month, we've watched that experience completely change. One by one, many of the bartenders and servers who made the experience special disappeared. Some left and others were apparently let go. As guests, we obviously don't know what happens behind the scenes, but when so many of the people who created the atmosphere and consistency you loved are suddenly gone, you notice. What has been most disappointing is that it hasn't just been a change in staff -- the quality and consistency of the drinks have noticeably declined as well. Wobbly Olive was a place we went specifically because we could count on getting a really good cocktail. Recently, that simply hasn't been our experience. Our last visit really confirmed it for us. A drink I had ordered there many times before was made so poorly and incorrectly that it barely resembled the same cocktail. When you're a regular who has sat at the bar countless times and watched these drinks being made, the difference is very noticeable. Also observed the Bartender messing with money in the register and not following proper procedures to clean hands and going back straight to managing ice blocks for future drinks. We paid our bill, left, and went somewhere else. I even watched a supervisor test the drink quality and passed. That was probably the most disappointing part -- realizing how quickly a place we genuinely loved had changed. I hate writing this because we have some wonderful memories at Wobbly Olive and truly want to see them do well. But from a guest's perspective, when you lose experienced bartenders and servers, you don't just lose familiar faces. You can lose the relationships, atmosphere, consistency, and quality that made people choose your establishment over somewhere else. For us, those things were exactly why we kept coming back. It had braised beef in a mild red sauce, rice and beans all in a flour tortilla smothered in green chili (of course!), Monterrey Jack Cheese, sour cream and guacamole. He ate half and brought half with for lunch the next day. Normally I gravitate to chile rellenos, but I felt like something different on this night. I chose the Enchiladas Sunrise. It has two corn tortillas, I chose chicken and cheese as my fillings. Those are topped with Monterrey jack cheese, green chili, and two eggs over easy. The theme changes every 3-4 months, so what you see now won't be there forever. Reservations are usually required and we got lucky thanks to a local host who knew someone. Worth planning ahead. Drinks come from the in-house "Cantina" and lean into the theme without feeling gimmicky. Food runs off the menu from the Wobbly Olive, the main bar hidden behind a door in the same spot, and it held up. The Outer Rim Provisions menu had solid options. The biggest surprise was the noise level. You'd expect a themed cocktail bar to be loud, but you could actually hold a conversation. Our server was on point, brought drinks fast, and even remembered the names of the people we were with. Go for a date night or anytime you want a low-key cocktail experience with serious attention to detail. Make a reservation. Peek into the Wobbly Olive on your way out.
