Inside decor

Going to this place was such a surprisingly fun experience. Had some trouble finding the actual speakeasy at first but totally our fault for not checking better lol. We were excited to find out the bar has different themes every 90 (ish) days! We came by during the Star Wars theme and even though we're not super big fans of these movies, the decor, food and drinks were all really cute. We don't usually have high expectations for food at a bar, but given that it comes out of an actual restaurant kitchen, it was very tasty and we really enjoyed all the items we got. Our server was very sweet and fun and we loved that the employees dress with accordance of the theme. We live in Denver but will be definitely drive back to this place and check out more of their themes.

We came here celebrating our 2 year anniversary and we were not disappointed! We have been wanting to check them out for awhile and we were excited for the shrek theme! They go all out! Our waiter even tried a Scottish accent, he made the time there worth while! I ordered the mud bath cocktail and if you like mint chocolate this is the drink for you! Very minty and I loved how cold it was too! Also very strong, they do not skimp on the alcohol. We also ordered the dragons breath shot, when we asked our waiter what shot to get he said "tasty or theatrical" we of course chose theatrical! It was so fun, making a great experience! For food we shared the fried pickles and steak and potatoes off the regular menu. We LOVED the fried pickles so much! They are not your usual shape and it made them extra crispy! The steak and potatoes were cooked perfectly as well, we devoured our food quickly! Which we needed with those strong drinks! Thankfully we were visiting the cinema next door after because we needed walk those drinks off. We had an absolute blast and can't wait to visit during the next theme! Highly recommended this place.

Okay, idea, on point, execution, so so. I loved the costumes and the decor but we could have pushed it further. What makes immersive experience top notch is the commitment to the theme, building the atmosphere and keeping your guests entertained. It would have been nice to have the soundtracks from the film, Star Wars inspired music or even playing the films in the background to add to the ambiance. All in all, not bad but also not the best immersive pop up I have been to.

Shrek-tacular Decor, Swampy Service Allusions is a bar within a bar, and currently rocking a full-blown Shrek theme -- which is as wild and extra as it sounds. The decor? Absolutely incredible. Like, Fiona's-wedding-meets-rave-in-the-swamp level commitment. 10/10!! The drinks were great, too. No complaints on the cocktail front -- they were strong enough to make me think Donkey might actually walk through the door. But the service? Oof. I'd love to work there -- apparently you get to do the absolute minimum and still rake in tips. We got a 90-minute reservation with a "surprise" 10-minute warning before being kicked out. Kind of like being evicted from Far Far Away without the royal fanfare. When we arrived, we were told there'd be a $1 bartender's choice shot option every 45 minutes. (Yes- you must buy it for everyone in the room) Did that happen? Nope. Maybe Lord Farquaad got them all. We sure didn't. In short: the vibe is fun, the drinks are solid, the decor is a fever dream in the best way -- but unless they swap the attitude for actual service, it'll take an even more unhinged theme (Titanic Disco? Barbie Meets Blade Runner?) to bring us back.

We have been here several times with the different themes and I have to say this is the first time we weren't that impressed. The drink selection didn't wow us like it usually does and no offense to our server but she wasn't much help with suggestions. She was newer so prob will get better after more experience. We asked about a couple food options and she doesn't eat certain things so it was hard to get suggestions of what to try. She suggested the rat on the stick but we didn't really like that. The lobster shooters were our favorite thing we tried the whole night, highly recommend those although they were hard to eat. We love the place so will def be back, just wasn't our favorite experience.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, BEETLEJUICE!!! What a fun experience! Walking into this cozy speakeasy, at the back of The Wobbly Olive, felt like we had been transported right into the movie. I love a well executed theme and Allusion nailed it down to every last detail. The drinks were delicious and I loved the unique glasses and stenciling that accompanied each one! Bartenders were attentive and friendly. They also offer themed bites and you have the option of ordering food from the Wobbly Olive as well, from apps to full entrees! They change theme every few months (their downtown location has its own changing themes different from this one) and you can purchase the decor and glasses when they're ready to switch to the new motif! Highly recommend regular visits - as Beetlejuice himself would say, turn on the juice and see what shakes loose!

I got the salmon, I don't remember what it was called but it was themed for the dinner that night!!

We went to the Lord of the rings themed night and it was so much fun. There was so much to look at and take in when they decorated the walls for the theme!! Everything was themed for the food and drinks, which was really fun. It kind of made it different for dining out. Me and my friends met there and my husband. It was all of our firsts and it was so much fun that we'll be back to see what the next theme is!! The service was pretty fast. It is a small area so you do have to make a reservation. As long as you make the reservation you should be fine but if you don't there's a wait time and that could take a while. We personally need a reservation so it was pretty easy. The staff was really friendly and the food was delicious!! There's plenty of parking as well. You are located near a lot of different parking spots for the different stores that are located nearby, so parking shouldn't be a problem.

Three stars is generous. If this had been our only experience we likely would not return. They were extremely short handed... we were seated and it was over 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged and then asked to change seats to the bar even though our reservation was in the cocktail area so this was a tad off putting. It took an additional 20 minutes to order a drink and longer to get them. The drinks were fantastic and the two that were there were trying hence the 3 stars. We wanted to jump in and help clean the cups and take orders they were struggling . 30 minutes later we finally called it after only having one drink but at that point we talked and decided to try this theme again another night. The decorations were cute as always. This is not the normal experience and it was an off night!

This place was pretty neat. It was one of those places I wanted to try before we moved away, the friends theme was pretty cool but we don't have social media, so difficult to check on themes. I dislike that they really can't take walk ins, I understand the space is limited and it's small but it just would be cool if it was one of those places where you could stop in without a reservation. The service was nice and friendly, but it was pretty obvious they were stressed and maybe understaffed? I'm not sure, but we didn't mind too much besides that we wanted to leave. It is a little cramped back there, would be cool if it was a wee bit more spaced out, this would have been my vibe for sure 10 years ago, highly recommend for younger crowds

Great experience! The Barbie Dream House theme was so fun & I loved the pink The drinks were creative & our server was so kind. We didn't try any of the appetizers but I was intrigued by their fun names.

I came in 8/9/24 for a date and had a great time! The theme (Super Mario) was so fun and the ambiance was great! Our server, Emily, was amazing and did an exceptional job. She made us feel so welcome and truly helped made the experience so much better. The drinks were amazing too.

The Star Wars theme was amazing. It was a little pricey but worth it every once in a while. Definitely going back for the next theme.

The food was good from the Wobbly Olive, and they had a specialty menu of ~6 things just for the Barbie theme.

Looked like there were 2 servers and 1 bartender taking care of the room. My friend and I went this month with the theme of stranger things. Its like walking into the show set when entering the bar. Drink and food options are themed and each come out in their own special way. I was recommended the dear Billy since im not too keen on the taste of alcohol and it was great! Dangerous cause it tastes like juice but great because the alcohol hit. The waiter told us that all the drinks have the same amount of alcohol in it so thats a plus too. For the food we had surfer boy bites and daring dumplings. The bites were so savory and delicious I really wanted more! The cola i infused marinara pairs great with the waffle bite and the pickled jalapeño added that savory to my sweet. The daring dumplings were a veggie dumpling and good but not something I would order again because to me, they were just dumplings and we only got like 5. Can't wait for the next theme to come back and try!

If you're sitting at the bar you can see the window where your food comes up -- our salad and fries both sat there about ten minutes before anyone brought them the ten feet over to us. Not a huge deal, but it's a little cruddy sitting there thinking "I'm pretty sure that's ours" and waiting. The ambiance is very dark, with a lot of stairs up and down -- you head into sort of a basement-type area. Everything I saw was clean and nice. It's a cool, funky spot to take a date or hit for happy hour, so the vibe and ambiance are definitely spot on for that. Signature cocktails -- all fine. Not the best thing ever, but solid. I'd have them again. Side salad -- good. The ranch is made in house and very flavorful, and the salad was actually loaded with veggies. French fries with garlic aioli -- a bit of a letdown. We didn't even finish them. They came out okay, just a little dry, and the aioli itself wasn't very good -- we didn't really like it. Pro tip: The entrées looked pricey, which is why we stuck to snacking at the bar -- and after the fries came out, we were fine calling it there and eating elsewhere. Overall, would recommend for happy hour, and would return.
