There was no wait on a Sunday afternoon and the staff were very friendly and made sure we had all we needed! I ordered a cider on tap and it was perfectly chilled! Fresh REAL hand pressed burgers cooked perfectly and onion rings better than the state fair. Friendly staff makes you feel like family. Outdoor dining available, live music and pub games. Worth a visit, you'll be back. I've only moved here recently so I've never had a bad experience. Maybe they had issues in the past but they are doing things right now. Came in with our adult son and his familya few weeks ago while visiting Colorado ! This place came highly recommended by someone we met at our son's pool ! None of us were impressed at all ! The appetizers we purchased were ok but None of our meals were good at all ! My Taco salad lacked flavor as did my husband's fish and chips ! His fish was greasy and not crispy at all ! Frog legs! Jalapenos with chicken tucked inside wrapped in bacon. So great! Drinks were inconsistent, first one watery. Second perfect. Waitress amazing and hardworking! Even went to bat for moving smokers out front instead of on the patio. I had already lost my appetite but appreciate the kindness. The smokers are the only reason to take a star away. First let me say, I was very reluctant to go to the Toad again for dinner. Over the last few years, we've had miserable experiences with this place in both food quality, service and ownership. So, I don't know if ownership has changed or what, but this visit was exceptional. We were seated right away and our server was on point. Not just for the initial contact but for our entire stay. I wish I would have remembered her name, but I don't. We ordered 2 large Coors lights, which we're a hair overpriced in my opinion, but were correctly filled to the very top and ice cold. My wife had the Cuban with tots, and I had a cheeseburger with fries. Both we're perfectly cooked and prepared and were delicious. The star though was the fries and tots. I'm sure they came right out of a frozen bag, but we're super hot, perfectly crispy and the portion size was probably the largest I've seen with sandwiches anywhere. Other than the beer prices (we need to go during happy hour) the food prices we're a very good value. NOW... Purple Toad... Keep it up. Don't let me down again. We'll see you soon. read more

Came to eat here multiple times and for some reason Heather is always so slow with our orders. She has served us multiples times that we've came here to eat. During one of the visits we ordered some fries for the table to share along with a soda and one glass of water. Wait almost 20 minutes just to get our drinks. When we got our drinks we put in our orders. Mind you this was on a day when it was not busy. We waited about 30 minutes and never got our fries. When the server brought out our food I asked about our fries and she said she forgot them and asked if we still wanted them. At that point we didn't want them anymore and just wanted our food. The server not only was slow in taking care of us but never asked us once if we would like our drinks refilled during our time there. The whole time there our service was very lackadaisical. Came for a drink and snack. They didn't offer a lot of local brews on tap. Service was very slow when we came around 3-4pm on a Friday. We sat outside in the patio which was clean and nice but we felt like we were forgotten. The poppers were not great they had very little filling and the Jalapeños were very mild on both appetizers. I had the treat of having lunch at the Purple Toad yesterday. The Monte Cristo was EXCELLENT!! I changed the cheese from cheddar to pepper jack and wow it was so flavorful. The sweet and savory combo was just delicious. Our server Heather was a doll. Very attentive and upbeat. The prices were on par for what I expected. I went with my brother and sister in law that live in Peyton. For 2 beers, wine slushee and 3 sandwiches was very reasonable. They seem to have hired a lot of red head waitstaff. There is a lot of attractive staff here. They are friendly, fast and funny. The atmosphere is casual, but the live music is well above par. The majority of the food is great, but the fish and chips would benefit from cod over the fish used. Though I suspect that would raise the price point so you get what you pay for in that point. The chicken teriyaki is amazing. You can substitute a grilled instead of breaded for an even better taste. If Tiffany is behind the bar you can expect great service though all their staff is amazing. We've been to the Purple Toad many times. Today we're here for lunch. My wife and I each started out with 22 oz beers. She had a Fat Tire and I had a Breckinridge Vanilla Porter. The Porter was excellent. We shared two items today: - Chicken Fiesta Wrap We thought this was "just okay". I'd prefer a thinner wrap. - Tuscan Flatbread This was really good. We decided to go back and try purple toad even tho the last time was simply aweful. Sadly, nothing has changed. We went Friday night, several people walked by us not acknowledging so we sat ourselves on a high top close to the servers station. We sat as the servers were eating, laughing and ignoring people sitting right next to them without menues. Finally I asked if someone could bring menus. Just wow, sorry to put you out. Anyway, food took forever. My burger that was supposed to be mid rare, ended up falling apart from being raw. Just raw. Pizza was undoubtedly a frozen totinos, Mac and cheese cold, and pretzel bites burnt. Just, such a bad showing all around. No bother complaining as no one seems to give a sh*t anyway. We actually ended up here because another place asked us to leave wanting 30 more mins before opening. I was apprehensive at first because of the poor reviews. We wanted wings and this was our only option in the small community. When I read the reviews, there was a fair combination of food and service displeasure that seemed to mostly stem from the place being too busy and not enough or attentive enough staff to accommodate. I didn't run into any of those issues (there was only 1 other customer). Ordered nachos and wings and both met my hope and expectations. The wings were actually larger than I probably hoped for. There were 24 beers on tap (I don't drink), but that seemed a bit more than most places. One thing I will mention, in the reviews a couple folks were disappointed that their personal go to drink was out or not available. I did see 2 messages mentioning that beer selection was out. I'd say this is a great lunch place. Based on previous reviews and this only being lunch, I can't speak to the rush or dinner frustrations that others have had. read more

Keep the rating at 3 again There does not seem to be much progress made here for the last year, or so. Good news it appears that the owner now has hired a restaurant pro to make improvements. We went here just a few days ago on Friday to try after not visiting in months. What we did notice is that the service level definitely edged up. However, food still fell short for us and had us leaving with the idea we will still go to OC, or Bubbas when looking for the Sport Bar theme. I ordered the Peperoni Pizza which was reasonable but not spectacular. One to two peperoni per slice is not inspiring :-). Wife's burger was good. Nachos still have a LONG way to go to compete with OC or Rock Bottom. Seriously need to get rid of the cheap nacho sauce and ensure no naked chips. The bar part of the pub seems to be the profit center and where all the attention is going at the moment. Incredible dinner at the Purple Toad Social Tap & Grill! We tried variations of a Hawaiian Burger which included beef patty, ham, provolone cheese, pineapple chucks, slaw and teriyaki sauce. The other is the same toppings with a chicken breast (my personal fave ) in lieu of beef. Kick them both up a notch by adding jalapeños...YUM!!! Don't forget to make good fries even better by going with garlic fries or the cinnamon and sugar sweet potato fries (again, my fave ). After waiting at the door for an unusually awkward amount of time to be seated (per the sign), bartender finally shouted "sit anywhere" so we chose a table in an empty dining area and waited about 10 more min for a menu before just leaving. We'd been there 15+ min by then. Went here again this week and after waiting at the door to be seated for an unusually long awkward period of time, bartender shouted "sit anywhere." Again, no one in the dining area.... We waited 10 min for a menu and she caught us just in time before leaving again. Dropped off menus several minutes later, Came back to take our order 10 min after that. Food was up, we could see it on the service counter. (Again no people there minus a few lunch time bar patrons). Food sat while she filled beers, swept the floor, sipped her own beer off to the side... Food was ok. That's the 2nd star. Get a 2nd employee if 4-5 bar top patrons are too much to handle. Where's the owner? Get in there! I won't go back. Sad. read more

We used to really enjoy this place, when it was tan maybe one or two owners ago. Recently it has really gone down hill. Because we used to really like it we keep giving it more chances but we won't be going back anymore. The service is always slow and the food can take 1+ hour to come for simple dishes. And when it does come the food is greasy and bland. The last 3 times we've gone we've been overcharged. Since the shutdown, the food quality has faltered. I order burgers (without buns) most of the time with few exceptions. I walked in and sat down. The waitress was new I made small talk with her she seemed nice enough and all. Staple employees Courtney and Kylee were there to greet me with smiles. I ordered the Swiss Mushroom burger Medium Rare "extra mushrooms' and tater tots. NO BUN. The burger showed up and it was over cooked (well done) and the mushrooms, greasy and sparse. I did show the waitress but she didn't look interested in the issue. I finished most of the burger said hi to some old acquaintances and left. A breath of fresh air is the new GM Kylee, professional, polite, and very well in tune with the community. Nothing else to say. Not withstanding the food, she has her work cut out for her. I thought, lets do it again. Two days later same burger almost the same result. Greasy, over cooked, and not the same burger I was use to getting. The amount of grease on the mushrooms and onions was a bit much and over cooked too but I didn't order onions on my burger and well surprise, I got them anyway. Medium rare for those reading is a burger pink in the middle not brown. I liked the Toad before the shutdown but now the quality is far from what it used to be. I hope the owners pay attention and spend a day monitoring the food. Good hamburgers are not hard to do. Glad to see Courtney still works there, she always treats customers very well. After finding out Purple Toad is owned by the same people who own Good Company bar and grill I thought this would be my new go-to spot as Good Company is one of my favorite dive bars to go to but unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. Purple Toad does have the potential to be great especially for Sundays as they have lots of big-screen TV's and good audio set up but the service here is always lacking, they always seem to be out of menu items, their self-serve beer taps have never worked since coming here and they always seem to be out of the beer I want to order and their food is mediocre at best. read more

Decided to come for the Prime rib special on Friday. Ordered it med rare and received it well done and super tough. Sent it back and got another one just as well done and tough. At that point we were going to leave but the chef said he had another one for us. The third one was more medium and at least edible though prime ribs are supposed to be rare or med rare. Felt really bad but couldn't pay for something that was terrible. Potatoes were under seasoned but the mixed veggies were the best and well seasoned. I don't think we will come back. It's a shame as it's so close to our house. Waitress left a lot to be desired. Never once apologized but felt we were being difficult.
