After being towed into town because my radiator cracked, I stopped here for the night and got a room. The woman at the front was incredibly kind and helpful. She recommended me some places to get help with my car. The next morning another worker gave me advice and information on who might help me out as an alternative option if the first option didn't work out. Overall they were very accommodating and helpful beyond just booking the room. The rooms are nice and quant with smart TVs that you can actually use instead of the typical Directv or spectrum cable that you can't use for streaming or casting or mirroring. I found this motel while looking for a hotel for our trip to Grand Canyon, and didn't want to stay in Flagstaff which would be too far to drive after a long drive from the valley up to go to Grand Canyon the next day and again too far of a drive to stay another night after a full day at Grand Canyon. This motel was ok, it has seen some updating and repairing, but needs to be cleaned better between guests and also get some deep cleaning once in awhile. The walls and ceiling were falling apart in the bathroom due to moisture, exhaustion fan didn't work, and when the weather was cold and/or wet, guests prob don't open the window to vent out hot air. The water pressure and temperature were excellent though, so getting a hot shower was no problem at all. The beddings seem clean, but we removed the decor pillows and I tried to make sure we didn't touch them. The floor was dirty and dusty so we wore our flip flops which we always do when we're at hotels anyways, so it was no different at this motel. One of the beds had stains that could've been coffee or blood or who knows what else, thankfully those stains were on the side of the case that went around the box springs of that one mattress, so we just had to make sure our legs didn't touch the side of the mattress on that side (see pics). It was kind of gross though to be honest, but I didn't notice until our second night and so we didn't bother telling the front desk staff since we were leaving the next morning. Overall, it was very quiet and we felt safe enough. There's a tourist visitor center and museum next door so I think that helps to keep this motel safer and not seedy. Probably mostly truckers stay here and not many families with kids, but the other guests were all polite and really no noise since it's a brick building so sounds didn't travel, and we arrived after dark the first night and came back after dark again the next night and didn't really see others outside. It was definitely a basic place, but there was a great working fridge that had a freezer section too and worked better than others I've seen/used at much fancier places. There were also a good newer microwave and a smart TV that provided web based TV and YouTube connection which was all we needed to watch some shows. Less decor, and more focus on cleanliness and fixing chipped paint, wall and other damages would be $ better spent. More hooks for guests to hang their coats etc would be much better as there's no closet or wardrobe nor even just a rack or a rail between 2 walls to hang any clothes, that was inconvenient. However, there was a touch activated desk lamp between the 2 beds that also had 2 USB plugs for charging our phones and that was plenty along with the outlets on the side of the beds. The staff were friendly and the front desk gal in particular was nice, if very quiet and reserved. There's a good working Keurig anytime you want a cup of hot coffee or hot water with black tea bags you can just go get a cup and also filter water from a dispenser. There are also snacks for sale and knickknacks type of souvenirs. Finally the free grab and go breakfast is just the small Quaker granola bars and the coffee, but for the price per night, I think even no granola bars and just hot water and tea bags would be fine. read more

Last year i paid $32. This year it was $70. My refrigerator had no shelves, there is no longer a microwave, the TV is a Roku tv but i could not log into my own Netflix or Amazon acct and i could not add any more free roku channels. One of the lamps is broken. I cant log into the wifi, many apps on roku i cannot log into my own acct to watch movies. Im here to visit my cousin. LULU bells restaurant is now closed, theres really nothing to do in Ash Fork . Who wants to come here where there is nothing, pay $70, no microwave, no shelves in the fridge and i domt think its working properly. I WILL NOT COME BACK HERE IT IS NOT WORTH $70 AND THERES NOTHING TO DO HERE, only one restaurant for breakfast, no grocery store. I am very disappointed. Ok for $38.50 for a one night stay to get some decent sleep is not bad at all!! Ok yes, it has an old, run down look to it but I see it as historic and rustic! Gives it some Character. Part of the old historic Route 66. It got the job done and for an amazing price! I've seen way worse hotels that charge way more! The lady at the front desk was a hoot too! Very friendly and funny. This place is so bad! We were on vacation and had driven further than expected. Arriving at the town of Ash fork, Arizona on I-40 around 9pm on 18 Sept 2021. We pulled into the Ash fork Inn. The night clerk was polite and completed the registration quickly. However, upon entering the room I was ready to drive to another town but we were very tired. There was a gap at the bottom of the door so crickets and roaches passed through into the room all night. There was no microwave or coffee pot in the room. The TV worked but poorly & could not be adjusted. The refrigerator was running but the freezer compartment was frozen over. The AC unit could not be adjusted. There was only one set of towels. The floor was dirty as it had not been washed for a long time. Walking across it in bare feet left the bottom of my feet black. But the worst was the bedspread, which when I pulled it back I saw several semen stains and dirt smudges on the inside of the bedspread so it had not been washed in a long time. I'll start by saying you get what you pay for. If you go in with low expectations, this is a $29 room after-all, you won't be disappointed. I just wanted somewhere cheap to sleep because our day would be spent at the Grand Canyon anyway. The facility is run-down on the outside, but the room was clean, had a fridge, TV with basic cable services, and free Wi-fi. There was no microwave nor coffee maker, but plenty of gas stations within a mile to get your morning cup of joe. Towels were small, thin gym towel type. Hotel looked full the two nights we were there in July with people from all walks of life. I stayed with my 14-year-old daughter and nothing gave us any reason to feel unsafe at any time. Hotel is a scenic 75-mile drive to the Grand Canyon national park visitor center. Within a mile there is a BBQ restaurant and family diner. Would definitely stay here again with my entire family. read more

Terrible terrible terrible customer service, or lack there of. We were desperate to seek shelter after driving into a huge blizzard. Arrived here, went to the service window, rang the bell for 45 minutes and no answer. Called their phone probably 20 times, and desperately knocked on the door crying. They had an open sign lit up, why bother wasting the electricity? Either someone was horribly lazy, or they have a horrible no vacancy policy. At least have the respect to come to the window/answer the phone and say sorry we don't have any rooms! It was a blizzard, we were desperate, you were advertising your business as "open". Keep your expectations low. No WiFi. Price was a bit over 100 in May. Itching in the sheets both of us. Hopefully no bed bugs. We have been everywhere in all sorts of nice and ugly rooms and this by far has the worst looking carpet and sticky. Also bathroom door would not stay closed. TV has problems changing volumes or changing channels. By far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in our whole lives. I would never recommend this place to anyone. TV is a pain. 3* for what it is. A passing thru stop over to sleep for the night & cheap rate of $33.15 this place is just fine.....& a friendly lady at the front desk. This is not a place you're going to vacation at, & if you can't deal with an older motel then roll on & overpay for a Holiday Inn or something. There is a smell of pine sol but that tells me they actually do a little cleaning unlike the $100+ places out there that do NOT clean. Bedding was clean, no signs of bed bugs in the creases of mattress, the 3 pillows were not the softest but had clean covers. A surprisingly large fridge/freezer for a place like this, keeps your traveling goods & ice cold overnight, but no microwave in room 10. Small tv but worked ok with DishTv for the couple hours before I went to sleep. Also a HUGE dirt parking lot makes it easy for trailers/motorhomes. My dad left his wallet in the room, after he was 300 miles away, I called and asked if they had found it in the room which they had. I told them he was coming back to retrieve it since he had accidentally left it there with a sum of cash totaling to $400. He really needed the cash because he's traveling across country for an unexpected funeral. The lady said it was up front with her so he should come to the window to get it. Once he got there he noticed the cash was taken out but all his other belongings were there. I've been trying to call them all day but got no response and a busy phone line. It's not a 3 star hotel so we shouldn't expect anything more or less. Rooms are small and only convenient for long distance travelers who've been on the road for days and this would be the last resort. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I get that cash can get stolen but seriously these employees need to be fired. They're lucky my dad has a nice heart because he would have gave them the money anyways because he just wanted his wallet with his I.D. I hope that money was worth STEALING karma will bite. I was happily surprised to find this place with not only a low price, but an amazing owner. Yes, it isn't the 4 Seasons but it does have new matresses, and clean rooms. My friend and I were traveling from San Francisco to Texas, and stopped here for the night while also squeezing in sights at the Grand Canyon. We were nervous initially walking into the room, but after inspecting it thouroughly, we saw tat the matresses were new, and the sheets were freshly made. If you like old school, this is the place for you! Route 66 vintage stuff all over the office, old TV, large bathtub, electric heater, wifi, walk up window, asks for tips and to shut everything off in the room and when i recorded a video in the room, several orbs appeared so it may even have ghosts (room 16)! If you want Hilton, there are plenty of high end hotels, we just needed a simple motel for the night. I love it! The owner keeps his costs down by asking patrons to respect the Inn. First day should have made me run. A month ago, I made a reservation for 3 nights. I showed up and they couldn't find my reservation and when it was finally located, I was charged for 2 nights which went unnoticed at that time. That first night, we couldn't charge our phones nor our watches as there was only 1 outlet that worked and that was the tv outlet. Spoke with the night manager who stated she would have a repair person look at it. Day 2 we come in from being gone all day and the repair had not been done so once again we had trouble charging our devices. Day 3 we didn't leave until around noon only to find that night upon return that we had been locked out of the room. Went to the office and started yelling (my fault) at the office management regarding the mistake of not paying correctly and we weren't even called to find out when we were returning to leave the room or even give us a chance to pay for the night. By this time the young man yelled at my husband "do you want me to jump over this counter and shove this (receipt) in your face?" My daughter then asked if that was the way they treat their customers? Owner came out and was going to show what we paid but my husband found our receipt showing 2 nights. Refrigerator after being plugged in all night never got cool. AC controls at floor level so you have to get down on the floor to control AC. The room never got cool after AC running all night. The rest of the room was what was expected of a cheap hotel. Didn't smell horrible and it didn't smell like smoke. Ask for WIFI at the desk on check in. UNSAFE place! It's 2:00 AM. Two strangers just used their key trying to open our room. But they couldn't open due to security lock. HOWEVER, they went to office and asked the lady to open our room. The lady said she has to make sure if we did check in before. How ridiculous!!?? If we didn't check in, how could we sleep in it?! After 5 minutes, she just came back and said "sorry about that". For $36 for two people, and 1.5 hour away from Grand Canyon I'll be back for sure. Like everybody else mentioned, the room is basic, outdated, with a horrible orange carpet, but clean. I stayed here because I didn't want to get robbed ( I mean pay) more than $40 for the same type of room in Williams or Flagstaff if visiting the Grand Canyon. Ash Fork Inn is a true motel meaning you park your car next to your room, crash out and move on. It was CLEAN. I walked around the room barefoot and did not get black feet like at other chain motels that rob your money and cut corners. Beds I had were old but, comfy. The a/c worked too well. They have wifi and the code for it is in orange on the TV in plain english. You get charged per person so for me and my husband was $37 with tax rounded up. I would like to concur with the previous comments and that is you get what you pay for meaning if you want a bed and roof that is what you get. The motel itself is old and has seen a lot. They make sure everything is clean and working. If you want a fancy shower go stay in Williams. The owner is a honest person and she runs a good business out in the middle of nowhere. read more
