The Lodge is wonderfully located by downtown and the Grand Canyon railway, in which it was the reason for choosing to stay here. It was fairly priced for a clean room, big bed, and hot shower. There is not much space it is probably less than 200sqft but it was comfortable for my boyfriend and I. It also includes free breakfast but the reviews said it was highly rated but it was boring; waffles, bananas, apples, coffee, oj, and cereal. I was a bit worried selecting such an old roadside motel to stay at, but I needn't have worried. This motel has been updated to todays standards and is so clean. We stayed in the "Chicago" room which is a queen suite and it is so cute and cozy. Beds were comfy, amenities were plentiful. Free breakfast was typical "continental style" with a waffle station. We prefer protein for breakfast so we went to the diner down the street. Location was excellent, walking distance to the train depot and everything els in the historic downtown area. Very pleasant experience! Stayed here for one night while visiting the Grand Canyon. We actually ended up here based on the yelp reviews after a disappointing experience at a nearby motel and so glad we did. Immediately when we opened the door it felt cozy and warm. Our room had 2 queen beds which were in two rooms with one common bathroom. Both rooms had it's own flat screen TV and there was a common area with a fridge, microwave, and some counter space. The beds were so soft and plushy we almost didn't even want to get up in the morning. The lodge is just a few blocks from several restaurants, a saloon, and the photographable Route 66. Continental breakfast is also included which is a total plus! Waffles, fruit, fresh pancakes, toast, eggs, yogurt, coffee, and juice. The breakfast seating area is quaint and is right next to their small gift shop. No neon lights or 1960's furniture like some small town motels. Great experience. Definitely one of the better accommodations in the area. Check them out! read more

Went to there to stay for my birthday and was locked out of our room for over an hour until someone finally answered the phone. It was right after 10pm and my girlfriend and I stepped out but our key demagnetized locking us out in the cold wearing only our sleeping clothes. The employee working that shift wasn't available because he said know one told him he was supposed to. Then made us feel like it was all our fault. A lovely property with two sides that are unique. We did not get the desired side by reservation, but were luckily able to grab a perfect room for our needs. Comfy beds and clean linens. Room layout unusual~~ light switch turned on lights in (double queen) other room.. brief startle. The staff was very accommodating and eager to be of service. Not the fanciest. But, one of the cleanest I have been too. Very nice staff. Room was interesting setup. Bed was very comfortable. You could smoke outside of the room. Each room has its own bench outside the door. The only real problem was the breakfast is terrible. The only good meal I have found is as yet is the red something. Check my other reviews. Williams is a tourist trap. All about Souvenirs and mostly bad food. Drive to the hotel then drive to Grand Canyon. All the food places are overpriced. Stay u. Absolutely hit the jackpot with The Lodge! My husband and I planned a spontaneous 2 day trip up to Williams. Having never been there before, we were unsure of nice places to stay. It was really important to us that whether we went we would feel comfortable, welcome, and that the place would be clean. Well, The Lodge checked off all those boxes for us!! We are so glad we decided to book a room here. Staff were very friendly, cute little gift shop in the main office, and rooms were CLEAN! The whole place looks well kept and even smells clean. We felt very comfortable here and it is just a short walking distance to the downtown area with shops, restaurants etc. We really enjoyed being able to walk to different places during our stay. My husband and I also particularly enjoyed the little patio area they have in the middle of the complex. We liked to head down to Brewed Awakenings in the morning, grab some coffee and sit in this spot. There had two fireplaces here which I'm sure are wonderful in the fall/winter time! The only thing lacking in the rooms was no mini fridge (would have been nice but not we survived without it), there was one very small trash can in the room that was easily filled each day, and there was not a "do not disturb" sign available in the room to bypass cleaning if staying multiple nights. Thinking back on this, they may not have been offered due to the need to clean consistently during COVID. Not sure. They cleaned up our room nicely during our stay, which was appreciated. Overall, this place is great!! If you are looking for a comfortable, clean place to stay, go to The Lodge! We surely enjoyed our time there and will be back next time we stay in Williams!! read more

I called to cancel a stay when it became clear that weather conditions were not going to be safe for me to travel for an event. I looked at forecasts the day of my intended travel, and I decided it would not be safe. Road closures due to blizzard conditions have been made the past few days, and more snow is expected. Interstate 40 is notoriously dangerous during snowstorms, and closures are common. Because of their 24-hour cancellation policy, The Lodge would not refund my money for the first night I had booked (I called 12 hours in advance). It's unfortunate the manager, Jamie, decided not to do the right thing. I was planning to reschedule my trip to Williams, and I will - but I will not be re-booking at The Lodge when I do. read more

Cute easy stop in the lovely town of Williams. Served breakfast and felt very clean and safe. Other perks included an icemaker, microwave, and extra towels for cleaning off bikes and other equipment that you bring/use on your trip. So we arrived during a snowstorm and it took us 10 hours due to the snow when it should have only taken 6 hrs to get to Williams. We had reservations and arrived shortly before 2pm and attempted to check in. We were promptly told check in is 4pm no exceptions. Okay, can you tell me which room we are getting so I can park my car in front of the room? NO! Alright, can we use the restroom we were stranded in traffic due to the traffic/weather conditions, NO! Our initial interaction is not going well and if we didn't have reservations I would have found another place. So I come back at 4pm to check in at the official check in time and am greeted by John. John is the complete opposite of the first guy he's friendly and personable, what a difference! We are given room 13 which is okay except there are no windows in the room. There is a door which leads to an outside porch however it is locked so you can't go outside! Not to mention the bathroom door is a sliding type door and doesn't work. Other than my interaction with John this place is a real disappointment. On the positive side the room is clean. Next time I will stay somewhere else In Williams. read more

The hotel rooms are small but clean, Pillows were great. My kinda major quibble would be that the gal who checked us in at night was not wearing a mask, I didn't see one around her neck either, like she just forgot -(the gal in the morning was wearing a mask). This place does not look at all like the pictures. We came here because it has 5 star reviews... If someone showers in a different room there is no water... I tried going in to shower 3 different times, never had water. The heaters in the rooms are very old. They suddenly stop working and you need to turn them back on. Even when they are on they don't warm up the room and the room is very small. The WiFi - very very slowly . I would not stay here again! read more

Chose to stay here again because of the great time last time. This time there were 4 of us and we got a larger room billed as a suite. It did have a small kitchen area, living room with pull out couch and 2 beds. We stayed here 2 nights and it fit our needs for 2 nights. If 4 of us were staying longer, I would consider getting 2 separate rooms as there is only one bathroom so we had to schedule showers - not a deal breaker, but something to keep in mind. Bathroom in the suite was larger than the regular room we stayed in last time, with 2 sinks being separate from the toilet and tub area. Breakfast is now served in the lobby, and has decent variety, oatmeal, fruit, toast, danishes and waffles. What was nice is the lobby is a short walk back to your room so it made it easy for an early riser to bring breakfast back to the room for the others getting ready. Bathroom needs some repainting in spots, but otherwise it is a clean comfortable place to stay. Staff are very nice, were able to recommend some running trails to the runner in our party. location is great, as you can walk up and down Route 66 to the shops and dining. Nothing to keep us away nor bring us back. We were in room 19 on the end-the Chicago queen suite room.* Liked: -Parking in front of our door (except when others were parked there upon arrival. Bummed because it didn't allow for snow removal and we later had to trek through 5-6 inches of snow near our car with our toddler) -ice scraper available to borrow in lobby if you drive from non-snow place -Having a fridge and microwave -Complimentary breakfast from 7-10 (DIY waffles, cold sausage patties, toast, coffee, tea, OJ, oatmeal, bananas and yogurt). -fireplace in the room -friendly front desk staff -great location Didn't care for: -how cramped the room was. We could have done without the table since it took up valuable space. -needed a mat inside the door since there are wooden floors and tons of snow tracked in, thus you slip and slide around on wooden floors -slept horribly due to soft bed (hubby and I kept rolling to the center and woke up with sore necks and backs), trains galore (to be expected), inconsistent temperature from heater and the bed is situated so that the person closest to the window gets huge gusts from the heating unit by the window. My hair literally blew like I was a supermodel in a wind tunnel. -bed frame was so dang high. Selected the Lodge on Route 66 based on positive reviews, and couldn't be more delighted! Fun motif (each room themed after a Route 66 city), and absolutely nailed all the (most important) little things - very clean, great linens & pillows, Keurig machine, quiet, WiFi, highly efficient A/C unit, lighting, sleeping bag at the foot of each bed (serves as heavy comforter if you need an extra blanket)...the list goes on. Highly recommend if you're passing through Williams, or plan to stay for a while. We look forward to visiting again! read more

Once again we are back at our favorite motel in Williams. I'd estimate this is our 15th-ish visit over the past 15 years or so. Rooms are always clean, comfortable and well equipped. if you are staying in Williams (for the Grand Canyon & Railway), this is by far one of the better places to stay. If you are traveling with several people (we had 4 in our party) this is one of the nicer places that has a full suite available - 2 queens beds in one room, separated by a door, and a living room and small kitchenette in the other room. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well-appointed. Decent complimentary breakfast. Helpful, friendly staff. I would give it 5 stars, but the shower/tub/toilet area had 2 issues - very low lighting (super odd), so you could barely see what you were doing, and an oddly placed towel shelf that I kept banging into. Came here as a stop on the way from California to New Mexico stopping at the Grand Canyon of course. The place is really cute. I did have my doubts though. Since I have a big "bug" phobia, after reading certain reviews , I freaked out! Room 19 had BED BUGS!! I'm sorry, but that is super disgusting. BTW, room 19 is way at the end right next to the street. Luckily, when we arrived they gave us ROOM 17. If they would have given us 19, I would have made them change our room and tell them exactly why. But, we didn't have to do that. They offer complimentary breakfast which starts at 7 am. They offered: cold cereal, warm sausage patties, waffle maker, breads, jam, butter, oj and coffee. It's good enough. Our room had 2 rooms and 2 tvs. Not too much space. But just enough. The room was clean with some decor on the walls. The service was good. The lady at the register was super polite and very helpful. Overall, this place is definitely a nice rest stop for your family. Clean, friendly staff, and near eateries. Enjoy and Good Luck! UPDATE: I just read a reply from the owner to the review I read about BED BUGS. Spent the day at the Grand Canyon and Bearizona, then headed to Williams for our stay at The Lodge. The front desk was very friendly and we even received an upgrade on our room at no extra charge (nice surprise)! Two queen beds with a door to separate each, which was greatly appreciated by our daughter lol. We love the room, so cute and cozy and clean! I can't tell you how happy we were with our room, and we can't hear any cars or noise from outside or other rooms. Loved everything about this motel! The folks were nice and very down to earth and their breakfast is the best one I've seen from a hotel in months. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The town in which it is located is one of the sweetest towns I've ever been to. Very convenient to dining and shopping, and the Grand Canyon Railway are all within walking distance (we parked the car at the motel and we didn't have to take it anywhere until we left). Stood here for one night the week before Christmas. My wife and I absolutely loved the decor. We stood in King suite #1. Kitchenette, couch, 2 flat screen TVs, small fridge...I coulda lived here! The whole ambiance was perfect, especially when it started to snow. The front desk clerk was very nice and even stood open for us 15 minutes as we had called in from the road to advise we were running late for check in. My wife already wants to go back! My husband and I had a great stay in the executive suite! The motel is conveniently located next to shopping and restaurants. The customer service was impressive. The owner put champagne and roses in our room for our anniversary which was such a sweet and thoughtful surprise! The suite was beautifully remodeled and decorated. Even the ceiling was gorgeous! The kitchenette was great for making meals when we didn't feel like eating out. The jacuzzi tub and double headed travertine shower were amazing after a long day of hiking at the Grand Canyon. They might have one room that looks like the pictures because ours was nothing like it, so get that one. Our room was old and dirty, but by the looks of other motels in the area this could be the best one. It's a motel not a hotel. I would never stay in a hotel/motel in Williams again, but might visit the town if in the area. Killed bugs in bathroom area. If we saw that before we went to bed we would have left asap. We stayed only one night because of the bugs and crappy room. Pain in the caboose checking luggage and clothing for bugs when we left. read more

We couldn't have been happier once we saw our room. After driving approximately 500 miles and the night was upon us and it started to rain my wife and needed a place to stay within Williams. We called around to many other hotels in the city and for some apparent reason everything was booked except for this one location. I was hesitant and skeptical but they did have a room available. It was one of their suites. Upon checking in we were greeted with smile and knew we arrived at the right place. But upon walking into our room that's when I was blown away. It was beautiful, clean, warm and without question inviting. It had a small living room with a sofa, rocking chair and a dinning table and the bedroom and restroom where off to the right. The vibe was so relaxing it felt like we were staying in a cabin deep into the mountains and all that we were missing was snow. We had a great night sleep and highly enjoyed our stay and wished we could have enjoyed it's other amenities outside. In the middle of the complex they have a group sitting area with a fireplace. They also provide a Continental breakfast that provides cereal, waffles, sausages, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels and toast. Without question if I am ever driving to William's again I will be booking a room at this location once again.
