A shot out at Route 66 from the hotels creative space
    James B.

This is not a paid review. But I'm sitting in the creative space painting watercolors (art supplies included from the hotel) listening to a killer jazz playlist and this motel in the middle of nowhere is one of the most magical places I've ever been. Service great? Check. (Sebastian, the owner, is almost always around) comfy beds, good water pressure etc etc... but really this place has someone's heart and soul in it and you can tell. I'm coming back just to stay here. Absolute love.

We were so pleased at the warm hospitality we received and the attention to detail that Sebastian has provided at his motel! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

This place is the BEST!! It's just so clean and the rooms are updated and affordable! We've been coming here since 2020 and we love it! There are so many fun things to do along historic Route 66! This time we enjoyed the nearby bedrock hangout, played every night in the creative space, painted portraits of each other and had so much fun. Frankie helps us to get our "kitty fix" while we're away! Again, Sebastian is so pleasant and helpful. This selection is the best the Mother road has to offer!! We'll be back!!

Seligman, AZ, has just upped to a Sedona like spot not to miss. The Aztec Motel was two years in the creating, according to owner, Sebastian. It has just six room/suites, so reserve early. Besides a patio, Sebastian adds an indoor "Creative Space" that offers a special place for breakfast, with board games, and fresh coffee nicely roasted locally. I can't wait to return.

Best little 9 room motel we've ever stayed at. Very cozy and comfortable. The beds were best we've ever slept on. The room had a Keurig coffee maker and a small refrigerator. Microwave available in the creative corner area which has games and a book nook and Continental breakfast in the morning... Rooms are nicely decorated. The owners run the motel themselves and are very friendly and accommodating.

The Aztec Motel was adorable, comfy, and super clean! Our room was spacious, the bed was really comfortable, and dog friendly. The property also has a great "creative space" with tables to work at, TV (there are also tvs in the rooms), games, books, snacks, and coffee. You can feel the love the owners put into this place!

My family and I were on a Route 66 road trip and had a 1 night stop in Seligman, we had an absolutely great stay at the Aztec. We were running behind and called for a late check in. Owner was courteous and helpful. Sent a text with all pertinent details to get into our room after normal hours. We arrived at the motel and had no issues getting in. The room was great size and had all we needed for a comfortable nights stay. To be honest the beds were amazing, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. Actually my entire family raved on and on about the comfy beds. Slept great, shower and bath were perfectly adequate. We were to depart in the morning, grabbed our to go bag breakfasts which were perfect for on the drive munching. Check out was easy and gift shop was adorable, loaded with lots of goodies. Highly recommend a stay at the Aztec.

Across the street from the world-famous Snow-Cap...forgot to stop by!

Angel and Vilma Delgadillo, Original Owners [Seligman AZ]…read more I wasn't aware of the history of this store and since I had already purchased most of my souvenirs at another gift shop down the street we just took a look inside, formerly Angel's barbershop and pool hall, now a gift shop. Who is Angel Delgadillo? This man was credited for saving Route 66 in Arizona! Yes, wow... I was intrigued about his story! Before I-40 was erected Seligman saw 9,000 vehicles moved through the town every day, stopping at the businesses, restaurants, service stations, and motels in town. When a section of I-40 opened south of town a deathly stillness fell on this main drag. With the expansion of the Interstate 40, there seemed to be no more need for the old road... in 1985, U.S. 66 was officially decertified. Whaat? All signs were taken down and it was removed from maps. So sad! Sorry, you'd have to research the rest of the story yourself on the internet... As we entered the modest shop the interior is quite small and compact inside. It got crowded inside especially with two bus full of tourists!!! We perused the souvenirs and many apparel merchandise for sale. There are t-shirts, magnets, shot glasses, postcards, mugs, and just about anything you might want to collect. To the right is a tiny small space Angel used as his barbershop. After his retirement, the barbershop portion of the shop was converted to a museum, celebrating his and Seligman's legacy on Route 66. It is filled with photos, antiques, and memorabilia, including his antique barber chair with a cardboard cutout of Angel himself. I did not realize the extent of his popularity until I read stories about him. I wish I would've met him... Review #3704

I visited the small town of Seligman, Arizona with my family in the spring of 2025. This is one of…read morethe best small towns to visit EVER. And I made my visit even better by checking out the Route 66 Gift Shop. If I could stay in this town all weekend long, I would. The Delgadillo family is really friendly and so are the other employees that work here. I saw the barber shop chair, the many business cards and license plates. I also learned all about Route 66 history and the Cars filmmakers' visit to this gift shop. More than two-thirds of the items for sale are made in AMERICA. This is one of America's greatest success stories. If you love Route 66 so much please visit this amazing gift shop!
