First time at an Asha's Tea House! Staff was very kind and gave recommendations. Didn't have to wait long at like 11 on a Saturday. There are some small tables in the shop but took it go. I visited Asha for the first time today as I had a late afternoon coffee/tea break with a colleague, and she recommended this place! I actually feel like I have been missing out because this place is such a gem! Everything about Asha is incredibly inviting. It is a bit on the smaller side, but the aesthetic is so cute and even being somewhat busy in the late afternoon, it didn't feel cramped. The service was solid as they were getting drinks out very quickly, but I was bummed that most of the menu items were already sold out. The tea was absolutely delicious and even going with my "third choice" option, I was not disappointed. Excellent tea shop with many fine tea options ranging from various grades of matcha to Hojicha, masala chai, Hong Kong milk tea, to herbal teas. They sell drinks hot or cold by the cup or also you can buy loose leaf bags. Also offerings of milk, fruit sparklers and lemonade. And some baked goods as snacks. They have an iced coffee too. Stumbled upon this with my friend, I got the regular iced matcha latte and she got the blood orange matcha latte. The iced matcha latte was perfect~ the blood orange matcha latte was interesting in a good way! You taste both the orange and the matcha, it was a perfect balance of the two. Decent but not amazing milk tea. Does satisfy the craving, though! I got a regular black milk tea, 75% sweet, and this wasn't sweet enough. Luckily the boba was sweet and chewy, so that helped. The milk tea itself was pretty watery and lacked the tea flavor. I also got to try the hong kong milk tea with regular sweetness, which was definitely the better drink but still eh. Probably wouldn't come back as there are many other milk tea spots that I would want to try! read more

Asha, you're still one of my favorite Bay Area tea places. 5/5 every time! The only trouble I ever have is either the wait because the lines are so long, or me being unable to decide between all the good flavors. This is my favorite season (Feb-March) with Asian pear and blood orange. It's super refreshing and not like other places where they use syrup. Here they use the real fruit and it shows. Since I'm diabetic I appreciate the ability to have no added sugar in my drink, and they always do a great job of listening to me about less ice. Worth the $7, just take my $$$$$!!! read more

I actually went here pre pandemic so during my walk downtown I was excited to see that Asha is still around. I ended up getting the strawberry matcha slightly sweetened. I wouldn't say it's my favorite but I did enjoy it. I typically like matcha drinks to be a little bolder in flavor but it felt kind of light hence the once star drop. Travel days always call for a solid caffeine stop, and this one came through in a big way. While on a work trip to SF, I found Asha tea house near my hotel and was immediately taken cared of. The cashier was super kind, walked me through some popular teas, and even pointed out a few underrated seasonal options. I ended up ordering the blood orange matcha with oat milk, and wow... heavenly. Blood orange matcha is a such a fun and unexpected combo, but it worked so well. Prices were great for the matcha quality which made the experience even better. Loved it enough to come back the very next morning for the same drink, and I'd happily do it again next time I'm in the bay. read more

March 2026 Weekday 2pm: milk tea with boba did not have much tea flavor! :( It's been some time since getting from Asha, their matcha is better than the teas. Order at the one kiosk or front counter, the order came out pretty quick. There's a couple tables inside. But all tables were occupied, luckily SF has some other public table spaces. Unfortunately there is no wifi. For $6.75, the tea flavor was not present, it tasted watery. The pearls had a great chew. Given that this is tea shop, I was hoping for better tea flavor. I been here a max 3 times already. Once for Matcha and the other times for ginger honey for 5.50 currently! I like the searing it's warm inside each time I visit while it's cold outside. Stopped by here in the afternoon before checking into our hotel. The shop is small with limited seating and was pretty busy but we managed to snag a spot to sit down for a bit before leaving. Cute and modern decor inside! We ordered at the kiosk (they only had one) and the bobaristas got our drinks out in under 5 minutes! What we got: -Hong Kong Milk Tea: pretty decent drink, and very high quality tea. It was not too sweet even with 100% sweetness (from our standards anyways) -Roasted Oolong Milk Tea: I could taste the really rich roast on the tea leaves in this drink! Not watered down at all, and tasted even more roasted the next day in the fridge. They have a lot of seasonal offerings so the menu that you might see from a couple months ago might not be on the menu. Overall solid spot that emphasizes the tea in milk tea! read more

Their tea is soooo good! I love hojicha so when I find a shop with hojicha lattes, I will always get it and Asha Tea House did not disappoint! Their hojicha latte reminded me of something I'd be able to get in Japan and I would definitely come back for it. The drink is lightly sweetened and was the perfect amount of sweetness. Their matcha latte with strawberry was also delicious! I love how they don't add extra sugar in the strawberry, and the strawberry flavor really came through in the matcha drink in harmony. It came with their raspberry puree which settled on the bottom. However, the drink tasted pretty watery. There was only a faint tea taste. This is what I experienced with my drinks the other times I went there when I ordered a fruit tea so I'm not sure if this is an one time thing. Luckily, it turned out to be not too sweet (a high compliment coming from someone who is selective about sweetness levels). I do think it's a lot of milk to matcha ratio can cause the drink to taste more milky than hojicha. For me a matcha snob, I give it 7/10. It's good but more matcha is needed. read more

Came here for the first time on a visit to the city. The teas here are pretty good. I got the mango jasmine tea with boba with less ice and less sugar. They didn't ask me to quantify how much sugar, but the boba tea was indeed less sweet. The sesame mochi pastry that we ordered was also pretty good but it didn't have a strong sesame taste. It tasted more like taro or something else, and it also didn't have much sugar either. There is a bathroom in the back and it was nice and clean for the city and amount of traffic this place gets. The seating area is a bit more sparse with only about 5 2-seater tables and then some bar stools in the back counter. It gets crowded here but luckily not everyone takes their drinks there. But for the people who have their drinks there it's nice that they use glass cups and are not as wasteful to the environment in that way. Would be better if they had paper or metal straws though. For 2 drinks and 2 pastries, it was about $30 with tip so this place can be a bit pricy. read more

The yuzu matcha sparkler or any other fruit sparkler is my favorite drink here. On a warm day, it's the perfect refreshing drink. The hot hojicha latte is quite watered down. I had to get the strong tea flavor to taste the tea. They said they brew the tea beforehand so that might be a factor in the light flavor. The default light sweet is truly lightly sweet. There was a small convenience fee to use the iPad to order, I didn't know that beforehand and saw it on my receipt afterwards. read more

Always pass by this spot and finally had to try after someone recommended their blueberry matcha - since blueberry isn't currently in season, I opted for strawberry matcha. Nice fresh pureed strawberry but wish there was more of it because as soon as I mixed it as had some sips, the strawberry flavor disappeared and the matcha was a bit bitter, while I prefer sweeter drinks.
