They were belligerent, swearing, and acting a fool in front of young children. Way to go "parents." It makes me ill thinking of the lack of civic knowledge amongst these kids. Blatantly stomping on hard earned tax payer dollars with this once fabulous community resource. What an absolute shame. I will never go back and never take a class here either.

Straight ahead, you have a weight lifting gym thats on par with commercial gyms and to the left, a small climbing wall. A good amount of staff are here and they are friendly. Several walked by saying hello with smiles. Again, coming from MoCo, I was like "Maybe moving to Northern Virginia is worth the cost". The bathrooms are a bit outdated, but not a deal breaker. It is still relatively clean like the rest of the facilities. The kitchen to the community room that my friends rented out had a lot of appliances (4 air fryers) and a large oven for reheating. I thought that was pretty cool. Also, I saw two woks there. This threw me offguard honestly.

They even have a sauna! This is not a resort by any means but it is a great way to entertain kiddos on a cold, winter day and get some wiggles out. The locker room is clean and well-kept and they even have a family changing room which comes in so clutch for my husband and my daughter. The total cost for an afternoon of fun is approximately $40 for a family of four, which is a total steal. Add in a trip to the nearby Chick-fil-a and you are in kid heaven. They also host birthday parties for a fraction of the cost of places like Chuck E. Cheese or Scramble.

The bathhouse was clean and had hot water. Most campsites only have lukewarm or cold water. There were also an abundance of toilet facilities and they were well maintained/cleaned. The view of the Potomac was breathtaking and the only downfall was that the camping sites are relatively close to each other both on the mountain and at the river's edge. I do recommend this center, however, and we will likely return when back in the area!

Don't sleep on this hidden gem during cherry blossom season! The rest of the botanical garden is well worth a visit, with a greenhouse, polished garden favorites, and wild woodland scenery. There are also children's gardens and a small playground, as well as many benches with different views to enjoy. One of my favorite spots is the fairy garden right outside the entrance, with all kinds of small-scale flowers. Admittedly, I've only been to Meadowlark during two seasons and have yet to witness fall and winter. I'm eager to go for the holiday lights, which I've heard great things about.
