There is a sensory room which unfortunately was rental only when we visited. Two nice playgrounds outside the center for kids of all ages. There are other facilities such as basketball court, pickleball court, running lanes, gym rooms, rest area etc The exterior design is mesmerizing, reminds me of museums in Europe. I think silks are so cool and am always so mesmerized watching silks shows at the Renn Faire. But it looks so hard that I doubted I could do any of it! The class was an hour long and our instructor was very friendly and helpful. She explained proper form and how to get into the different poses, that I actually ended up flipping upside down and successfully getting into each of the different poses she taught us! More than that, it was SO much fun. I'm so thankful for her patience and teaching style.

The Facility: Nice and spacious building. Has a nice variety of walls for you to choose from (Cave, overhang and moon board). They also have a small little fitness area with dumbbells, barbells and some cardio equipment as well. The mats are are well cushioned too, to catch your falls and there are plenty of cubbies to store your gear and be put out the way. The Routes/Grades: Their routes are on the v-scale and were somewhat accurate to the grades from what I've seen. I saw a mix of grades that I did and didn't agree with, and I can see this being a little hard for some beginner climbers. But, my biggest problem with this gym is that the holds here are all old and dirty. For the most part, the whole gym was kind of dirty and didn't looked well kept. For some of the routes I was on, the holds didn't make it enjoyable as dirty holds left me slipping off my feet. They were quite dusty and full of rubber shavings and the whole gym didn't look well kept at all. The Staff: Staff here are very friendly! They were helpful with any questions I had and were respectful. Overall, a 3/5. Was quite disappointed with my experience here at Vertical. For the amount it cost for a day pass, I would look elsewhere like Movement or Sportrock.

After being introduced to fencing while living overseas and attending a fencing academy on the west coast, we can absolutely see how CFA stands out. We chose CFA because my son was serious about the sport and wanted to learn under the top coaches in this area who all have incredible experience both in the USA and internationally. As an added bonus, the CFA family is a great community of caring parents, kids and coaches. World Gate has been my main gym for at least 3 years now. It's not the cheapest gym I could go to…read morebut for all the facilities and options offered plus the proximity to me, I cannot find another. The membership price is reasonable considering all of the facilities. However, it's not reasonable if you don't use all the facilities! Sometimes, I feel like I'm paying for some stuff I'm never interested in using - like the racketball rooms, the spa, yoga classes, dance classes, etc. There's another gym that's like 2 minutes away from me and costs like 50% of World Gate but they don't have a sauna which is essential to me. The facilities that I use regularly are the weight room, the sauna, and showers. I do like having the ability to swim sometimes if I want to. World Gate has a lot of options. I don't enjoy the price I'm paying but I also do not see another gym with all my non-essentials at a better price so I continue to go here. What's missing though is the actual cold plunges - not cryotherapy chairs. If they can manage that, I'd not be complaining about my membership price. I'd have everything I need.

Until now, we have generally had a positive experience with the staff and members. A few days ago, my husband received an email accusing him of taking a club towel home and saying he would be charged for it. He was extremely upset by this accusation because he absolutely did not take a towel. When he called the club, Assistant Manager Allan repeatedly told him that "the system is broken." If the system is known to be broken, how can the club accuse a longtime member of taking a towel and demand payment based on that same system? What is even more disappointing is that no one apologized. Allan never apologized, and the manager did not even speak with my husband to acknowledge the mistake or the stress and embarrassment it caused. After 22 years of membership, we expected much more professionalism and respect. A broken system is one problem; accusing a loyal member because of that broken system and then failing to apologize is another.

In addition, there are several class options and multiple times for all skill levels. (Important to note - if your gymnast is practicing at an intermediate or advanced level and does not wish to be on one of their teams - it is in your best interest to first ask if the coach assigned has the ability to properly and safely spot your child.) Also, DGA has an amazing presence at all DMV area meets (State and National ones too). Their Developmental (DP) and Xcel teams, both, are a force to be reckoned with - as this is a well established - fact in the gymnastics community. My daughter had been taking lessons and was really enjoying them until she took a fall. I specifically asked the coach ( who was not her regularly scheduled coach - the class assigned coach was on the gym floor just not, for whatever reason, teaching that class.) who brought her back to the waiting/viewing area what happened. I directly asked if my daughter's fall was her fault - was she being unsafe. The coach expressly told me no, my daughter was assigned a drill (in the previous class) that should not have been assigned. No further explanation was given. My daughter had explained to me what had transpired. My daughter was in pain - another coach (not affiliated with DGA) told me to take her to a specialist. No one at DGA reached out to see how she was feeling, no one even said we hope she feels better. The entire situation was completely ignored - this is not just unprofessional; it is also unkind and unempathetic. DGA is currently and actively working at becoming the number one power- house gymnastics facility in the DMV. They should, first and foremost, actively work on improving their coaches' communication skills, feigning compassion, and being committed to always implementing safety.
