Don't go here if you are a woman or respect women. The male barber/owner was being very misogynistic, openly and in front of all clients. He was saying they dont cut women's hair because they complain too much, then he made a mocking and nagging high-pitched voice, making fun of women. Even though it has been three years, this barbershop is still a great place to get a quality as well as an inexpensive haircut. I just received an amazing shave (closest shave I've ever had) with a great fade haircut all for the price of $39, without tip. The staff are amazing! Not only after three years did they remember me and our conversations from before but they also remembered my son. This type of personality in a business is important to me. My nephew recommended that I take my boys to this shop. I find it a good atmosphere to bring children when Adam is not around. His conversation with some of his regulars can go south pretty quickly. The conversations are fine between adults, but when you have kids present, it's a different story. Plus, you have mostly ladies working there. It's a good place for a cut if you don't mind the wait and the conversations mentioned before. Adam's skills seem to be the most consistent if he is willing to cut your hair. He will often send you to his staff if they are open. I actually find this as a good quality of Adam. I would like to give more stars but in the world of cutting hair consistency is king. I've been here several times with my son; in fact, he got his first haircut with clippers from Adam. At first the shop was great. Adam took his time and seemed to have the customer's best interest at heart. Then I came back a few other times and he was off so I went to another person. The ladies are good to a point but the consistency between all of them is lacking. My son has the same haircut even with line using a 3 guard on his entire head. This shouldn't be hard but it's rarely right. Most off putting is how the shop charges prices not consistent with their own policy. My son only 6 years old gets charged a full adult fare and they automatically include a tip. I like to choose my own tips not be mandated by management. I have an occasion whereby I got a haircut and my son got a cut, the hot towel is nice but not enough to make me come back. Lastly and most importantly is respect for me as a customer. I came in the shop and when Adam asked who was getting a haircut indicated just my son. He deferred me to someone else when i specifically came for him. I have a. Dropped by for the first time since my son in law said to try this place out for a great haircut. He was right. It was early afternoon so the shop was empty so I did not have to wait. First thing to note is they charge and extra 1$ if you pay with a debit or credit card My experience here was really bad, they lady cutting my hair was on her phone the entire time and was at ear level. It was very similar to having an annoying as mosquitos buzzing around your head.. When the lady finished with my hair (almost after an hour)I pointed out a few areas I wanted touched up and the lady became a bit combative telling me she cut my hair how I requested "medium fade".. I tried to explain that all I wanted was her to touch up one side to match the other side, since it was not even and had some long hairs.. After a few moment of trying to explain what I wanted it got to the point that I got up, paid and left.. I will not being going back to this barber and cannot recommend it read more

No frills barber shop run by a Vietnamese guy named Adam and a harem of young Vietnamese women. Objectively, one gets a decent cut (they seem to specialize in military-style cuts since I always seem to get my hair a half inch shorter than expected) at a decent price ($16) and like some other similar establishments, a hot lather neck shave and brief facial massage is included in the price. For non-locals like myself, its location right off I-95 is also convenient. My only knock on the place has more to do with the general clientele since I feel like a good number of dudes who come here have some degree of yellow fever since they seem to enjoy the facial massage "a little too much" and I feel like the girls almost know this as well since they tend to give these guys an extended massage for higher tips. Case in point, yesterday afternoon I walk in with at least 4-5 guys ahead of me but since I just wanted a quick haircut, there was no wait for the male barber and I received haircut, neck shave, and no facial massage whereas I got a front row seat witnessing a few creepers rolling their eyes back in ecstasy as their beards and neck were massaged with images of some softcore scene likely projected onto the back of their eyelids. Throw in the decor of the space that looks like it hasn't been updated since the 1970s and the only thing missing is a speaker pumping in a little bow chicka bow bow! Aside from my perceived awkwardness of the ambience, they really do an excellent job for the price. This is a good place to get your haircut. Normally there is no wait. On busy days like Saturday and Sunday there is only a short wait. For $14 you get your hair cut, a drink, a hot towel and a head and neck massage. And I've got some crazy hair patterns going on on the back of my head and more often then not they are able to make even that look good! read more

Finding a barber when I move to a new area has always been a challenge. I was lucky enough to stumble on the Ashdale Barber Shop, as it is close to my work. I've been going here for the last year, and I'm still going back! I think everyone in the shop has cut my hair at least once, and they've all done a great job. For the price, it's hard to beat the service and quality of this barber shop. MEN: Got a special occasion coming up, wanting to rid yourself of the winter beard? I highly recommend getting a shave from this place. Totally worth the extra money to get a meticulous, comfortable trim. The owner, Adam, is obviously a huge sports fan, as he keeps the multiple TVs tuned to sports channels and is eager to talk stats with anyone who will engage. Listening to him banter with customers over whether or not so-and-so is a great quarterback or who is going to win the world series is quite entertaining, and I'm not a huge sports fan. Every single one of the barbers are great at cutting hair and I have never experienced them messing up my hair. Great job every time. My husband comes here every weekend to get his hair cut. He's in the military, so it's literally every weekend, and we've become regulars. All of the ladies who work there are great but my favorite is Adam. He does everything the ladies do, if not more, in half the time. Since I have to go with him (I really don't understand why he makes me go with him. Oh well, I get free lunch out of it, so I'm good) it's always nice when I'm sitting there about 15 minutes instead of 45. Yes, it is busy on weekends. We normally go after it's died down a little on Sundays. They know our names and Hubs doesn't even need to tell them what he wants. Adam is rude to his regular customers. The girls can't follow simple instructions. They cut your hair the way they want and ignore all requests. If you want a buzz cut with a skin fade, or a very short hair cut they can handle it. They aren't professionally trained and can not do any other styles, and act as if the request if an inconvenience. Very long wait every time. The only nice thing is the straight razor and hot towel. What a great place to get a haircut. I have a military flat top and it is surprisingly hard to find a good barber that can make my odd shaped head look right. Adam and Nuong are hair cutting virtuosos! I have had a couple of the other ladies there cut my hair too and I have never walked out of there looking bad from the forehead up! I'm from California where in order to be certified as a Barber one must go through 200+ hours of training additional training on top of their traditional classes. My experience with barbers in California has set the bar for me pretty high in terms of a haircut experience. However to call this place a barbershop would be an offense to the word. The customer service was absolutely horrendous. Adam was cursing and being very rude to one of his customers with children around while I was waiting in line. Adam didn't even cut my hair anywhere near what I had asked for so I was extremely disappointed. On top of that he didn't taper my sides properly so I have patches of hair that are longer than others. Now the hair on the right side of my head is longer than the left. This is a terrible place to get a haircut. I'm never coming back and you shouldn't come either. read more
