We were looking for a "sugar free" dessert option for my mom and this was PERFECT! The shop is located in a strip mall amongst other shops and restaurants. There are three sizes, all of which can be seen in my pic. There is an array of flavors for both sugar free and regular desserts. Our group had double chocolate, butter pecan, and coffee chip. I personally had the double chocolate and it was amazing. There were an array of toppings as well. Two of us opted for a chocolate topping and it was excellent. Restroom is located in the back of the store. There is indoor seating at the very front, as well as a bit of outdoor, covered seating. The counter service was fast and friendly. Went here late at night (8?) for an after-dinner treat. The hours made me believe that this would be popping til 11pm. Instead, it is located on the quiet side of a large shopping strip mall. Inside, it was clean enough, but dated. A good amount of flavors, and an obscene amount of cookies in bags for sale. For what or whom, I cannot guess. This place was fine, but I do wonder how they are staying in business. I really wanted to like this place and support a local business, but unfortunately, it fell short for me. The ambience is quite dated and could really use a refresh. There's also a strange smell when you first walk in, which isn't what you'd hope for in an ice cream shop. One major issue is the heavy frost buildup inside the machines--something any ice cream shop owner should know affects flavor and quality. Most of the flavors I've tried here have a stale aftertaste and lack the creamy consistency you'd expect from a good parlor. Honestly, I find the Carvel on Northlake not only tastes better but is also a few dollars cheaper. While I appreciate the effort of small businesses, this just isn't the ice cream experience I'd go back for. read more

I've been visiting Ashdan's since I was in high school. Yes, a loooong time! I love that Ashdan's still has the same ambiance as it did in the 90s. I enjoy seeing the owner Mo when I visit and I love his healthy options. Awesome little local yogurt cafe with tons of different flavors and lots of regular, sugar free, low carb options which makes this place good for everyone. I've only tried the low carb frozen yogurt but found it to be really creamy and delicious and filling as well. My favorite flavor is the peanut butter since it seems to be a little creamier than the other low carb flavors, which tend to err a little on the icy side. There are a ton of topping options here too and they sell cookies as well. I guess there's a location in New York City, too. I'll have to check that out when I am traveling! read more

I went here for the first time just a couple of days ago. The frozen yogurt is really good! They have good flavors to choose from, along with toppings, & cones. There's plenty of options ! The only reason why I did not give this 5 stars is because the place LOOKS a little outdated. It's not modern or nice looking on the inside. You definitely wouldn't go here to take pictures inside of the store. I don't really care about the pictures but it still just doesn't look too nice, doesn't have that modern home-y feeling. Also, the spoons were in bins right in front of the cash register with no lids or anything. I waited until I got home to get my own spoon just because I didn't want to take any chances with the virus numbers being so high right now. You grab your own spoon so I can imagine how many hands have been in the bins & people talk right over them. You can imagine the rest of the possibilities that can occur right around the spoons. Great dessert place! This is by far the best Froyo in town. Ashdans is the perfect local mom and pop shop. As soon as I walked in with friends, we were all greeted by the staff and welcomed with open arms. I arrived late to this place around 15-30 min before they were closing. The staff was helpful with letting me try all the flavors I was interested in. I ended up getting coconut and chocolate fudge brownie. My friend got the garbage can and death by chocolate. The ice cream was okay but not spectacular. The waffle cone tasted kinof stale. OUTSTANDING froyo - especially the low-carb variety! We absolutely love Ashdan's and go there a few times a week. When we're not there, we buy quarts and eat those every night! I've been here about four times and it went well...that all changed when I went a few nights ago. I was there around 9-10pm and waited for five minutes before I was greeted...nobody else was in the store. Now this wasn't the issue because the employee was doing something. As I waited I was looking at the cookies and one bag in particular caught my eye. I picked it up and noticed it had flies in it (along with maggots) flying around in the bag. I saw about four of them before I promptly asked the employee to look. The employee did not look and I felt disgusted and quickly left the store. I'm not sure if the owner is aware of this issue. I never write reviews but what happened next was very off-putting. I then felt bad. Should I call them and let them know? I called and the response I got from the gentlemen was very confusing. He refused. I tried to explain what bag it was but he didn't seem to try to understand. He seemed very angry (?). Angry that i was accusing him of such a thing. I wish I would've gotten a picture. I really hope this gets figured out I had no plans to write a review (nor have I ever written one before) but the way this man responded seemed as if he wouldn't fix the issue. read more
