Torin, our guide was absolutely wonderful. The tour started with introductions among our small group (total of 8 people). Then Torin explained how to use the E Bike along with great tips. He led us around Asheville, stopping at various locations to share its history and architecture. I felt safe and secure throughout the ride and the bikes were comfortable. Worth every penny. I wish I would've gone through them when we had our original wedding...The farm is nestled in the mountains and while accessible from downtown Asheville, it's just far enough away that you feel like you are way out in the country. I requested a "boho/country" style and Celeste came through with vintage decor and gorgeous locally grown flowers. It was truly perfect and I couldn't have planned it better myself. They refused to refund our wedding after Hurricane Helene forced them to cancel the date we had…read morealready paid in full for, citing a clause in the contract which allows them to wriggle out of giving you back any money you give to them. They would only offer to reschedule. We were obviously disappointed but managed to whip up a truly incredible wedding locally in Raleigh instead. We decided we wanted to have a small vow renewal next year at Homewood so we could have the ceremony we imagined while also keeping our money in the Asheville community with our vendors. We asked if they would reschedule our date and give us a partial refund as the scope of the event would be significantly reduced. They again refused, again, citing the clause in the contract. We made a completely reasonable request - requesting that we be refunded the difference between what we booked initially and what the new event would have cost and they refused it. The entire situation left a really bad taste in our mouths and now we want nothing to do with these people. They showed themselves to be cold, cynical business people. They can throw a wedding in an empty room next year for all we care.

Our wedding pictures turned out gorgeous and everyone from out of town gushed over the scenery. Being an out of town bride, the event staff was very accommodating and always answered my many questions (and follow up questions) promptly and thoroughly. We also didn't buy the right type of sparklers for our send-off and they happened to have some on hand for our guests to use. Totally above and beyond! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that they have the bride get ready in the women's restroom. The same restroom that many of my guests wished to use upon arriving at the venue. Not everyone saw me before I walked down the aisle but the wow-factor was taken away a tiny bit as many of my female friends and family members had already seen me in my dress. Also it was a bit stressful trying to calm my nerves before the wedding but having to greet people as they walked in the restroom door. Everything from the initial communication about the cabin and our stay, to the perfect location. Mike was a pleasure to work with and gave great directions on how to get to our cabin, Mitchell View. The cabin was absolutely beautiful. Very clean, well taken care of, and had everything we needed... hot tub, games, cooking utensils, etc. There are grocery stores in the town of Black Mountain so you can stock up and just hang out at the cabin the entire time, or take an easy drive to Black Mountain and Asheville if you want to get out for a bit. Mitchell View has a comfortable living area with a nice size TV, satellite and wi-fi, the kitchen was charming and the game room on the bottom floor was very comfortable as well.. We used the hot tub a few times and enjoyed playing a couple games of chess. It was nice to sip on some coffee in the morning and watch the sun rise from either porch. The hiking trails and creek on the property are easy and very pretty... That was our pups favorite part! All-in-all, I would hands down return, and hopefully sooner rather than later.

The cabin we stayed in had all the amenities you would want in a vacation property and really felt like being at home. We loved sitting out on the porch in the mornings and in the evenings just taking in all the beautiful nature around us. This is definitely a place we plan to come back to next time we want to vacation in the Asheville area. You will not go wrong with High Rock rentals!
