THE PERFECT WEDDING VENUE!…read more I just got married here last week. This is a beautiful indoor/outdoor venue. Asheville weather is a bit finicky in regards to rain, so we decided to hold our ceremony, reception, and dance floor indoors. The outdoor area has many seating areas or spots for pictures, including a fire pit and a koi fish pond. We got so many compliments on how beautiful the venue is, one couple even said they may have to book this venue too! The bar was one of the highlights of this venue. Drinks were delicious, and kept flowing. The staff here is absolutely fantastic, Dawnn was our coordinator and she made everything flow so well. Things were set up and packed up behind the scenes. By the end of the night, everything was packed up and ready to be brought to the car.

There was a lot we didn't know, as it was a first time wedding for us with little connections in the area, and we would do a lot of things differently were we to do it again. Initially, we thought there would be a lot more provided than there was at this venue, especially for the one day rental of $10,000+. Things I would keep in mind for this venue (or for any other): Take your time choosing the right wedding venue: It is easy to feel time pressure when it comes to securing a wedding spot or vendor. We found Haiku in early 2024, and loved it. But we hadn't looked at anything else, and felt like we had to make an immediate decision because we wanted an October wedding. I wish I had taken the time to read through the contract before signing and asked more questions. We based our choice on the support we thought we would have. If I had under 50 people, and could have done their elopement package, I would have. They provide more support for that option. We had right around 70 people and it created a lot more work for us. Hire a wedding planner if you don't have family/friend support: I sincerely wish I hired a wedding planner to take care of a lot of the details that I missed and also who could have played intermediary with the venue and vendors. I thought that I would have more guidance that I did from Haiku, and opted to do the planning myself. Most of my stress came from details that would pop up out of nowhere, and having someone else fielding the minutia would have been amazing In retrospect, and well worth the moola. Pay attention to the contract, and get everything in writing: We signed a contract in Feb 2024, for our wedding in Oct 2025. As we started planning our wedding in early 2025, a number of things that we were told initially(not in the contract), were changed when we met up again later. Pricing, rules, etc. For some of it they were able to honor their original pricing, however some of the conditions we were forced to accept. The mixed expectations had us lose trust in our communications with Haiku, and made us realize we would have to be very careful for the rest of the process. Also, throughly read the contract and ask about contingencies. Ex. The contract makes the tents sound optional, and when it came down to it, we had a lot of push back when we thought we wanted to forgo the tents. There were also quite a few seemingly arbitrary rules, which every venue is likely to have, but left us confused and frustrated at times. Communication: I felt like their communication prior to a month before the event was lacking. Do not hesitate to ask them questions, and clarify everything. It would have been helpful to have some guidance to the portal we were given access to, along with dates things were due by....especially since it had many doubles and misnamed folders which made it hard to keep things straight. (Hopefully they have fixed this by the time you read this!) I spent a lot of time going back and forth with emails (Them and other vendors) where questions were missed multiple times. When it came to the actual event, it mostly went off without a hitch. The decor looked lovely, Haiku arranged things we had brought and meshed it with theirs creating a lovely effect. Things will always go wrong... and my issues at the wedding had more to do with the caterer cold food was served, people couldn't find our snack/hot beverages table (no one knew it was there), and missing unused cups/snacks that were not returned. An issue with the DJ being rude. We did have some miscommunication with how we needed to have some of items repacked to us, and had a couple things go missing (Labeling things would have done a world of good, I think) . ;) ) But overall, the guests had a fabulous time, of which I was grateful. -

The market space is tastefully decorated and the attention to detail is very apparent. The mezzanine level has beautiful exposed brick, wood ceiling beams, and a fantastic chandelier giving the space the most romantic atmosphere. My husband and I seriously cannot stop talking about how beautiful the reception and cocktail spaces were, and many guests have told us that it was one of the most beautiful weddings!! Additionally, the separation between the cocktail space and the dinner/dancing area was wonderful. My husband and I were living in Scotland while planning our wedding so the first time we saw The Venue was the weekend of our wedding and we were just so impressed!! Our wedding was everything we dreamed it would be and more in large part due to this beautiful venue. The food was DELICIOUS!!! I have been to many weddings, and without a doubt, this was the best meal I have had at a wedding. To be honest, it's one of the best meals I've had. All of the staff was so kind, professional, and attentive to our needs. Deandra was AMAZING-- so on top of it and made sure everything was where it needed to be, that guests were given the correct meals and that we were happy!! Maddison with The Planning was so helpful throughout our planning process and was a FANTASTIC day of coordinator. We did not experience a single hiccup in our day--everything was absolutely perfect. My husband and I keep saying that we wish we could have been guests at our own wedding just so we could experience it from their perspective! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I just played a wedding there. Hardly anyone wore a mask. It was like a frat party. When I asked…read morethe hostess why they weren't enforcing the mask and distance guidelines set up by the governor, she just shrugged. Seriously? I did have a good mask on and stayed in the corner a good distance from everyone, but when I saw the cocktail party and everyone screaming and shouting and no masks, I left early. I hope I am safe, but I will not be surprised two weeks from now if half of the staff is sick because they weren't wearing masks either. I don't care how convenient a place is and what their service is like. When you put money over lives, it's disgusting and immoral.

Olivette is an absolutely gorgeous community with a lovely event space…read more The staff is super friendly and helpful and the event space for weddings or private events is right on the river with mountains as a backdrop. It truly doesn't get much better than this lovely view. They have a little Island surrounded by the river, with a bridge leading to it as a ceremony space for weddings. It is serene and inviting. They also have a large fire pit with built in tiered stone seating around it. The covered pavilion nearby makes a great space for a wedding reception, a family reunion or really any gathering. The grounds at Olivette are well-maintained, green and beautiful. There are wild flowers growing, healthy trees and lots of trails. The houses on the land are stunning. They're all new and from what I was reading on their website are energy efficient with beautiful views of the river or the forest. I would love to live here or attend another event here. Are you military? Then Sleepy Hollow doesn't want your business…read more We were looking at Sleepy Hollow Inn and Event Center yesterday as a potential wedding venue. We are a military couple and already married (eloped), but want to have a "real deal" wedding for our friends and family. We were drawn to SH because of their cheap, "all inclusive" packages. They have upfront pricing and a strong web presence. We went up to Swannanoa to meet with Danrae, the owner and coordinator, and tour the site. We arrived before her and poked around to get a feel for the site. Unfortunately, the highway noise was unbelievably loud throughout the small property. My wife wanted to veto the venue altogether, but I said that we should wait for Danrae and give it a fair shot. When she showed up, we asked her what others had done about the noise. She claimed that no one had ever mentioned it (but it's so loud!) and that the officiant would have a mic. She gave us a tour of the rooms and property, and everything is pretty, but smaller than the online photos would have you believe. It is truly, truly compact. When she sat us down to discuss the packets, the meeting took a turn for the worst. We told her that we were looking for October 2016, but that we couldn't set a date for at least another month. We weren't asking her to hold a date for us or anything -- just saying that we couldn't put a deposit down yesterday. We promised to get back to her in a couple of weeks. She told us that she "hesitated" to book us for a desirable October weekend *at all* because we were military and "who knows" what the military would do. That's right: She didn't want to book us because of the military. Despite how friendly their site looks towards military and how much they seem to support it, she would prefer someone with more stability to book her venue. She said that she could book the October weekends "ten times over" to people who wouldn't get deployed or pulled on a mission, and that she would be taking a big chance on us. This is no way to honor a veteran's service -- by "hesitating" to let them spend their money on your business. When I pointed out that my wife was *serving our country*, Danrae said that she didn't mean to offend me. Well, of course she offended me. And it should offend you, too.

My cousin rented out the entire venue for his wedding…read more The Sleepy Hollow Inn was very cozy and warm. I loved being able to spend time with my whole extended family in the same place. It was very intimate (versus staying at a hotel where there are other people outside of the bride and groom's friends and family). The house was filled with antique-style furnishings. It felt very cabin-like. I love that the area was secluded far away from polluted and noisy cities. The surrounding nature was nothing short of breathtaking. There were a few creeks nearby. I went for a run in the morning with some family members and it was just wonderful! The location is great for a getaway. There is a large, green lawn outside separating the house from a pond nearby. The pond is filled with fish and has a fountain spouting from the center. In front of the pond is a pretty, white gazebo where the bride and groom were married. I loved the reception area (which was a separate building where guests could eat dinner and dance after the wedding ceremony). It had a cabin-like atmosphere as well and was very spacious. At the rehearsal dinner, there was a big dinner laid out for us in the dining room. I am not sure if Sleepy Hollow Inn catered the dinner. The dinner consisted of heavy southern foods: Beans, hush puppies, sliced tomatoes, potato salad, dinner rolls, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken. Appetizers: Cheesy spinach dip with crackers, deviled eggs. Beverages: Iced (sweet) tea, wine, beer. The food was delicious but not the healthiest choices. I felt uncomfortably sluggish afterwards, but I enjoyed myself while eating the food. The place has a continental breakfast. The continental breakfast on the first morning (which was on a Saturday) was very mediocre. Breakfast choices included cereals, milk, juice, fruit and different kinds of bagels (along with cream cheese, butter and jam). The breakfast choices on the second morning (Sunday) were far better. I like hot foods in the morning. They served sausages, eggs, potatoes and pancakes. There was also fruits and juice. As for the dinner on the night of the wedding ceremony, the appetizers were buffalo chicken wings, meatballs (so delicious), and spinach-and-cheese stuffed mushroom caps. Dinner consisted of macaroni and cheese, salad with dressing (some kind of vinaigrette), chicken with creamy sause, pork chops, mashed potatoes. I enjoyed the appetizers more than the dinner itself. Beverages: three selections of beer, three selections of wine, sweet tea. The staff was very kind and seemed eager to accommodate (though not easily reachable in the off hours). I had several complaints: In my room (the Hydrangea room), the bed stunk so bad. I thought the sheets were not washed, but I took off the sheets and I realized the source of the stench was the mattress. It smelled as though it were soaked with old sweat or as if a dead body was sewn into the mattress. It was absolutely terrible! I slept there the first night (it was too late and I was not sure who I was supposed to talk to about that problem, as the staff had seemed to retire for the night). My sister and I slept in my parent's room the second night. The plumbing could use some work (especially the bathroom beside the Hydrangea room). It was really hard to flush things down the toilet. The bathrooms did not feel as clean as a hotel.

Where do we start. Our venue for our Friday, Saturday and Sunday events cancelled on us six weeks…read moreout, our bartenders sent our cake crashing to the ground and our florist really didn't get it right. However, Morgan and company helped us manage all of it with grace and made the process as easy as possible on us. We felt incredibly grateful to have them be part of our day! They made the process much less stressful and the day of we could relax and know things were being taken care of. Exactly what we needed!! From literally chasing down our florist, her team having to come in hot with day of decor where the vendor messed up, to having to move our outdoor reception indoors due to unexpectedly cold weather, they never missed a beat. Looking back, it was a wonderful weekend with family and friends, and we could not recommend them more.

Yesterday, my partner held a rehearsal party at the Reverie for her son's upcoming wedding. In this otherwise busy urban section of Lexington Ave, a group of unrelated building structures have come together to form an garden oasis that has been designed and manicured to form a wonderful event space. One couldn't ask for a better indoor/outdoor space. We were so blessed to have mild sunny weather for the entire event; every area of the beautifully decorated venue was embraced and appreciated by our 30+ guests; their complements were effusive. It is a space, however, which can handle many more. The air-conditioned, nicely stocked indoor bar, feast table(s), photo-booth, and sitting area rounded out a truly perfect event venue. But wait, it doesn't stop there. Abbey and staff exemplify a management team that is friendly, helpful and proactive. Abbey was always present on the scene offering to assist in every way possible. We sent her the music list in advance and she took care of the sound system including a microphone was crisp and clear. It was clear that everyone including staff had an enjoyable time. My partner had a vision of what she wanted, Abbey fulfilled it. Our feast table theme was Spanish tapas; 67 Biltmore catering executed our curated menu to a T. Individual dessert servings of fresh fruit shortcakes were provided by Reverie. Reverie also have a full kitchen space if wants an all-in-one option. The outdoor space has an area with a raised plateau (stage) which was excellent for the rehearsal practice and could be utilized in many creative ways.
