My ultrasound showed gallstones which they said they treat, and the report showed very little information, but they refused to look at the images and told me its all fine. When calling and asking if they handle the specific problem I know I have, instead of answering they just tell me to get a colonoscopy! Just wow. terrible.

I strongly do not recommend Dr. David Truong's office. Our experience raises serious concerns about…read moreboth patient care and professionalism. Dr. David Truong was my dad's doctor for years, and we finally reached a point where we couldn't continue. The way we were treated over time was honestly very upsetting. During appointments, he often seemed completely disengaged, sometimes even facing away from us, and it felt like he wasn't really listening to our concerns. What made it worse was how he delivered difficult medical news: very cold, with little to no explanation or guidance. Trying to get in touch with the office has also been a nightmare. Calls go unanswered, and messages aren't returned. Recently, I reached out multiple times to request my dad's medical records, which are urgent for his care. After going back and forth and constantly following up, they finally sent something, but it was just a few pages of lab results, not the actual doctor's notes or full records we asked for. This whole experience has been frustrating and honestly concerning, especially given how important proper communication and documentation are for a patient's health. He told me insurance nowadays don't want the patient to get it done at the same time and the facility with charge $150 fee. He said they want to be paid more so it is encouraged to do them separately. This means I will be put under anesthesia twice separately. I called the insurance and I call the facility. Neither of them said that was a thing. In the end it was the doctor who wanted more money. No wonder he kept breaking eye contact and looking down when he was telling me this. HOWEVER, be aware that United Medical Doctors to which Dr. Argueta's office belongs, has horrible customer service and their billing system is one of the worst I've had to deal with. Instead of mailing a traditional bill to your mailing address (they DO have that), they text your phone and send an e-mail, both of which send you to their patient portal where there is NO "Pay Now" button nor can you access the invoice they should have mailed to you (then why direct me to that web page?) It is "locked" so you can only see the amount you owe. The web page directs you to a phone number where you are ultimately told you can't pay over the phone (then why give me the phone number?) and it point you to ANOTHER web page where there's finally a pay link. It takes you to a basic "fill in the credit card info" page where you can finally pay the bill. Way harder than it should have been. I still don't have an invoice for my records, only a confirmation that I paid an amount via my credit card. Will it be applied to my account? I don't know. I should add this was a bill for an office visit in May 2024 and they did not notify me I owed anything until June, 2025, over a year later! So, Dr. Argueta is great but the United Medical Doctors' web pages and payment system are horrible. It started off well. I had a consultation appointment. I then had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy,…read moreon October 1, 2025. I went to the follow up appointment 2 weeks later. I was told I had Pylori. A stomach infection. He prescribed three medications. I deliberately reminded the doctor I take Methotrexate. Many medications do not interact well with Methotrexate. He said it was fine. I picked up the three medications the next morning. The pharmacist said I should not take these medications. I told her the doctor said it was fine. I should have listened to her. I had lunch and took one of each pill. By 4.00pm, I thought I was going to die. My heart was racing, sweating, shaking, severe nausea. Dry heaves. I'm a widow, and there's usually no one here at that time of day. By a miracle I had a friend here that day. He wanted to call the paramedics. He got me water, and sat me down in my hay barn, as I couldn't stand up. I was terrified. I drank a bottle of water. He managed to drag me to my house and by 4.30pm, I was in bed. I'm diabetic. I had no dinner, and took no meds. I've never felt so bad in my life and I'm 77 years old. I kept drinking water to flush the meds, most of the night. I called Dr Shen at 9.00am the next morning. The person I spoke to, said she would send a message to the doctor. That was 2 weeks ago. I never took another pill. I spoke to my GP, who said not to take them. Dr Shen, or anyone from his office, never called me until yesterday. October 28, 2025. I had already made an appointment with my previous gastroenterologist whom I should have gone to in the first place. I went to Dr Shen as he was local, and I could avoid the drive to Orange County. Big mistake. It wasn't even him calling, but someone in his office. I told her I wasn't interested in anything they had to say, as they abandoned me two weeks ago. I'm disgusted with the lack of compassion or any communication. I was just a number on their conveyor belt. I'll never go back there. I have all the reports which I will give to my original gastroenterologist and move on.

Then, I saw on my insurance's website (when I logged in) that the claim was denied so I called the front desk, and the rude person who picked up aggressively told me that it's patient responsibility to make sure they are in network, and she couldn't even tell me if I was in network, when I was previously told that they were. That is a HUGE RED FLAG. It shows that not only are they unapologetically uneducated, but are shamelessly aggressive about it as well. The front desk is responsible for telling me if they're in network. Her response was ABSOLUTELY and REPREHENSIBLY SHOCKING. So I called billing and they told me that they were in network with Anthem Blue Cross. So I guess the front desk is careless and uninformed, but I will not be responsible for a bill due to the lack of consideration and education of the front desk. I will be filing numerous complaints.   Also, they didn't even bother to change the address or their new name on their Yelp page even though they moved from Fountain Valley to Huntington Beach. I will never come back to this office again and I should have never made an appointment. What a disorganized and careless office this is.
