Note: this location is now Ashley Outlet, and not the standard Ashley HomeStore I was considering a new bedroom suite and went into this Ashley Outlet store to look around. A salesperson greeted me and guided me to the bedroom area. Since I mentioned that I wanted to look around, he allowed me to do so and went elsewhere and checked in with me a few minutes later. I found one design that was marked as a floor sample and ready to be sold at a discounted price. I told the salesperson that I was interested but not ready to commit at that moment as I had a few other places I needed to visit while in Greenville. I did return a few hours later, and the floor sample had a new even more discounted price. We did the transaction and started the process of having it delivered. I was a bit shocked to have to wait about two weeks for an on the premises floor sample bedroom suite to be delivered to my home. Regretfully the selected time for delivery conflicted with my work schedule, so I asked a neighbor to supervise the delivery. The neighbor knew where the bed and dresser were to be put in the room, and the delivery folks put them in those spots. However, they did not center the placement of the bed and the dresser, which were clearly not centered in this small room. It was noticeably off-center to the naked eye. I had to get a couple of neighbors to come over so we could move the furniture into its proper places. Easily 5 stars. The experience was exceptional . Our sales rep at the store, Russell, was professional, new the products, and worked very hard to get us the best deal. The delivery team, lead by Victor, was prompt, professional, and did an outstanding job. There was one minor issue with our product and the customer care rep, Cheryl, went above and beyond to get the issue resolved. We are very pleased and plan to shop there for future purchases. read more

We visited other stores in town for a full livingroom group for our new home, and ended making a purchase at Ashley. I was reluctant to agree to anything because I felt as if I was doing business at a sketchy used car dealership rather than a "professional" furniture store. In the end, the biggest issue has been delivery, AS PROMISED. We still have not received our furniture. Each time WE call, it's a different story on what pieces are in and when they will be delivered. Disappointed and hoping to never go through a horrid experience like this again. read more

I had a bad experience with Ashley furniture years ago,I don't recommend anyone purchasing furniture from this company. The furniture they sell is garbage.my mother taught me when I was growing up to buy quality furniture...furniture is like and investment. I have a dresser beside my bed that my mother had in her bedroom when I was in t he 6th grade and I still have today and 69 yes old.Thrift stores are very popular and they sell real furniture.i know alot of people had the same experience I had with this company. I ordered a recliner online June 18, 2020. They went ahead and charged my credit card then informed me delivery wouldn't be until August 15. The email claims slow delivery due to COVID-19, which is odd because anything else I irder arrives timely. Then I received an email a few days ago stating delivery has been postponed until September 18! Three months after placing the order! Unacceptable! I do not recommend Ashley Home Stores at all! They have so many issues that there are whole Facebook groups set up to deal with it! Hindsight is 20/20 but I will never purchase from them again! read more

Love this place! All of our furniture came from here and it's so sturdy and reasonable. The staff is so helpful and they give you all the information that you could need and want on the pieces you are interested in. We will not buy anything from anywhere else. read more

They asked me to write a review after I made my purchase and initially I planned to write a great review. My sales associate worked hard to figure out why type of sofa I wanted and showed me many options which led to purchasing a beautiful navy leather sofa along with a recliner, two side tables, and a coffee table. We also found a pillow that looked good with everything, but since they only had one in stock, she ordered me two. When everything was delivered (by an excellent delivery crew) there were no pillows. The head deliver guy said he'd make a note and someone would contact me. The next day when no one had contacted me, I stopped by the store to inquire about the pillows. After working my way through 4 sales associates standing at the front door doing nothing, I was told to go to the counter at the back of the store. Again, after having to dodge another seven employees standing around making jokes about getting popcorn and watching a movie on the big screen tv display, I got to the counter. Found out the pillows were backordered and it would be 4 weeks for them to arrive. When I asked for a refund, was told they could only do it if I had my credit card used for the deposit. I didn't and was told there was nothing they could do. I had the idea that the could take the pillow cost of the balance of my financed purchase. They did, but it too 20 minutes to get the paperwork in order. I would have been much more agreeable if they had called me before the delivery to let me know of the delay and offer the option to cancel the pillows. OR they delivery guy could have know about the delay and offered information. OR someone could have contacted me in a timely manner after the delivery. OR employees of the store could have gotten out of my way and tried to help me. OR the manager could have been less condescending when he said all he could do was apologize. Again, my furniture is great. The initial sales associate was excellent, and the two ladies who helped fix the problem were terrific. Everyone else was terrible. I purchased furniture from Ashley Furniture on 02/19/2015 & was told my furniture would be delivered in 7-10 days. I called today, 03/05/2015, to find out why I haven't received my furniture and I was told I should get it on 04/01/2015. I proceeded to tell the person I was speaking with that I was told it would only take 7-10 days & she told me that the salesman told me it would take until 04/01/2015, which is a lie! I will never purchase anything from Ashley Furniture again. read more

We moved to Greenville, NC from out of state in the past month. We searched local furniture stores for counter stools, kitchen set and queen size sleeper sofa. We found that Ashley had what we wanted. A very pleasant and PATIENT salesperson (Trisha Coronado) helped us find what we wanted. We spent several hours over two days to find the ideal furniture for our new home. We changed our minds several times and had Trisha show us various choices on line and in the store before we finally made our decisions. We were told that it would be about a month before our furniture could be delivered. We expected it to arrive January 20th. Well today is January 10th and all pieces were delivered today. Everything is perfect. We are very happy with everything from the freedom to roam the store, the help from Trisha and the timely delivery of our order. Purchased a Sectional with Oversize Ottoman in February 2018. Delivery set-up for 14 March 18. Received a call that Ottoman was not available, could they deliver 21 March 18, I agreed. Received another call that Ottoman still not available, could they deliver that item at a later date (though no date given), I said yes. So I saw another coffee table at Ashley that I preferred over the one ordered, and ordered it online, with deliver in a few days. Call to cancel my Ottoman, which has not been sent or taken out of stock, and they informed my that I would have a 10% restocking fee taken from my return credit. I fully understand a restocking fee, but there is no item to restock!!!! This is poor business practice. For the 10% restocking fee, I will never purchase another item in their store again, and have cancelled my online purchase of a replacement coffee table. Poor, poor, poor practice. This one needs a "common sense" solution, but none provide. This company certainly will not be hurt by losing one customer, but I will voice my opinion loudly to family, friends, co-workers, and social media. Doug A read more

We originally went to this Ashley to outfit our new home with furniture. It turns out that the only thing that we could agree on with the store is a coffee table and two end tables. When it was time for the delivery, we were called and was told that "one of the tables didn't meet our quality control standards and would be reordered" (hidden meaning: it arrived to them damaged and they wouldn't deliver it). Anyway... the other items were delivered on-time BUT the guys who delivered the coffee table must not have realized that the top was movable and lifted it by the top (no big deal) and damaged it on delivery. When leaving he said that "you have 3 days to report any damages" (hidden meaning: Sorry about breaking it, but the company will take care of it). When I went to the store to report the broken table, the customer service representative told me that "she would send it to the customer care team who will call me within 24 hours". It's the 3rd day and I've heard nothing so I went back to the store only to find that the representative never forwarded my need. This potentially could have cost me $300-$400 for another table. I called the Ashley corporate number and the rep there immediately told me that she'd send a new table, gave me a new order number, and said it would be delivered with the original broken piece. We had a wonderful experience with Ashley furniture in Greenville. We ordered two sectional sofas and have been very pleased with the quality of the furniture. The sales person that we dealt with was very helpful. The delivery team was fantastic! They were very friendly and efficient. We were pleasantly surprised to see that they had little difficulty maneuvering the through our narrow doorways and sharp turns. Nothing was damaged and we had a very nice chat during the set up. The only reason that I cannot give a 5 start review is the long wait and rather vague wait time between ordering the furniture and its delivery. read more

Never again will we be purchasing any furniture from Ashley Furniture. Not only have they changed the date of delivery three times. Twice they have damaged or not even stocked the whole bed that we ordered in their truck. However, this last time takes the cake. After clearing the room twice (removal of both night stands and taking down the bed) they tried to tell us that we would have to wait until monday to receive our bed. Did I mention we were suppose to go out of town this weekend but postponed to get the bed? NEVER AGAIN will I ever do business with Ashley furniture again and I do not recommend that anyone else I know do business either. read more

Ordered and paid for furniture worth $9,000. Was promised delivery in a month. Five weeks later I called and we arranged delivery for the end of week six after ordering. I had the delivery date confirmed a few days ahead of time. When the date came there was no furniture delivery, only a promise of delivery eight days later. This was after I had emptied the house to make room for the new furniture. I want my money back for the horrible service. Big disappointment. read more

I purchased a dining room set & a china cabinet from the Ashley Furniture Homestore in Greenville, NC. I was told it would take 6-8 weeks to have the furniture delivered. In about 6 weeks, we got a call saying our furniture was ready to be delivered, but the cabinet part of the china cabinet was broken & another one would have to be ordered & that it would take 6-8 weeks to be delivered. In 6 weeks, I had not heard from anyone, so we called to inquire about the reorder. After explaining the situation to numerous people on the phone over the course of 3 days my husband finally had to go to the store & speak to someone in person. It was decided they simply forgot to order the new cabinet & assured us that one would be delivered within the week. The next week, a new cabinet was delivered & it had a chip in it & the delivery people scratched the buffet while trying to install the cabinet. They also chipped the table when it was delivered. Unfortunately I didn't notice this until they were gone. We were told we would be refunded our delivery fee due to the inconvenience but this did not happen. Someone from the repair company came to look at it because we had purchased the warranty. Before he even looked at the chip he noticed the wood was warped & immediately said it could not be repaired. After removing the dishes it was found that MOLD was growing in my china cabinet! Mold is also growing on the buffet between the buffet and cabinet. The whole thing is going to have to be replaced. My husband again had to go to the store because no one would return his calls. He spoke to a manager who basically told him "we can't say where the mold came from" & insinuated that it was our fault. I have spent $2000 on this furniture that is basically crap, & no one wants to take responsibility for it. The customer service is horrendous. read more

My wife and I recently purchased a living room suite from the Ashley Furniture store in Morehead City - couch, chair, two end tables, and a coffee table. The whole buying experience was a good one for us. The salesman at the store was polite (not pushy) and very knowledgeable about the product. We actually went into the store just to look around but we ended up purchasing the living room suite. He worked with us for over an hour making sure we were completely comfortable with everything that we were doing. After the purchase had been made he told us it would take 3-4 weeks for delivery and that someone would call us prior to that time to make all the necessary arrangements. Just like clockwork, we got the call about 3 weeks from the time we purchased our furniture. We made delivery arrangements and were told again someone from the delivery team would call us a few hours prior to delivery on the day of delivery. Without a hitch, about an hour before the furniture was delivered we got a call letting us know they would arrive within the next hour to an hour and a half. Once the furniture arrived the delivery guys were very careful not to damage anything (the new furniture or anything else in our house) while bringing the furniture into our living room. They placed the furniture where we asked them to and made sure we were completely satisfied before they gathered their tools and excess packing materials and left. It's been about two months now since we purchased our new furniture and since that time we've been called several times asking us were we still happy with everything. That's alot different than what I have experienced in times past. I would definitely recommend the Ashely Furniture store in Morehead City as a place to buy any furniture you may need!!! read more

I purchased a bedroom set which cost me well over 2500 and 2 1/2 years later I was getting a cable company to install a line behind the dresser, when they moved the dresser I saw the most alarming thing I have ever seen. There was mold growing everywhere on the back of the dresser. I immediately pulled the drawers out and found mold on the bottom of the dresser drawers as well. I pulled the night stands to find the same. I checked every where else in my bedroom and there was no mold except on their furniture. I even had a friend who was an inspector come out and do a mold test on my entire home, which he concluded that there was no mold except on the dresser. I called Ashley to explain my situation and that it has to be there product that is defected. There response to me was to get my air-ducts checked. I explained to them that my entire home has Ashley furniture and that the only pieces in that room or the entire home that has mold is this bedroom set. I even explained to them that I have been going to my doctor because I have been having problems breathing and that now I know what its from. The only response they had was that my case is closed. They did not work with me or even offer to come have someone look at the defected furniture. Although I had these issues I still went into their store yesterday and purchased a mattress and a new tables and couches, which of course I cancelled after the conversation that I had with them. Don't buy anything from this location...worse experience EVER with any furniture store. I bought a bedroom set that was delivered about a month later. I called that same afternoon post delivery because I noticed that the chest had a chipped corners and the back cardboard was wet. It was raining that day and the furniture is made out of some MDF/particle board wood with laminate so I thought since I bought the extra insurance this would be a quick fix. I thought wrong...so wrong! They scheduled me for an appointment with a service tech for a month out and guess what the guy called the Sunday before around 9pm on EASTER Sunday asking if he could come out...are you kidding me?! Then he called the next day after 6pm...again the appointment was set for a completely different day and I was not at my home so I told him I will be home as originally scheduled the following day because that is what I set me schedule for from work. So that ACTUAL day arrives and I get no call, no visit, no nothing so I call the store and the customer service lady was shocked. Since it was clear that getting anything repaired from this store was not a possibility (why did I bother paying) I asked her to tell whomever if it is possible to get a replacement so I can be done with all of this and she said yes it should be 7-10 days to order. In the back of my head I'm thinking it took over a month for the original order to come yet you can get me a replacement in 7 business days but I digress. So I get a call within the 7 business days confirming delivery date and a couple of days later a delivery window time. Once again, my time was set for 11a-2p so when 1:30p comes around I call the store since I would have to leave work. I was called back with a 45 minute delay and they would call...remember 45 minutes right so I'm thinking 3pm the latest. First call from the delivery team, I get a story saying they had to go back to the distribution center and was about 45 minutes behind schedule...this now would put them around 6:30pm arrival based on the time of this conversation (remember original time was just 45 minutes-- 3pm). I called back the number from the delivery team at 7:48pm with no reply. Do you all see the problem? So I call the store again and they couldn't answer why the delivery was not made and here I am at 8:12pm from an original 11a-2p delivery time and counting. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE BUYING ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE OR ASHLEY FURNITURE IN GENERAL. I just wish there was a Havertys here so I could have avoided this place altogether! If I could give zero stars I would. Update 8:58p delivery team finally arrived. Although highly apologetic and I appreciate that they at least saved me from another 6-8 week wait for another chest I'm just glad this is over. Just hoping this furniture holds up because reading other reviews I wish I never bothered. read more
