Wow, I was so surprised after trying Brewery Bhavana when we first moved here. When you arrive…read moreparking can be difficult in this area as the restaurant backs up to Moore Square. I'd recommend parking a few blocks away and walking if you are unable to find parking nearby. Walking into the restaurant you'll be transported to a modern brewery, bookstore, and flower shop. It feels chic, Belgian inspired, and upscale. To start I ordered a Vase IPA which was excellent. I then switched to cocktails and ordered the Black Sesame Old Fashioned (bourbon, black sesame, black walnut bitters), the Dionysus (pinot noir, raspberry lemon shrub, chambord, amaretto, lemon, rhubarb bitters), and an aviation (hendricks, luxardo, creme de violette, lemon). By far the Black Sesame Old Fashioned was my favorite and what a nice touch with cracker on top of the dish. For food we ordered the Gai Lan (Stir-fried Chinese broccoli with garlic and oyster sauce), the Peking Duck (Whole, barbecued, free-range duck served with steamed bao buns, cucumber, scallions, and hoisin-honey sauce), Sweet Soy Chicken (Scallions, bell peppers, and caramelized in our ginger soy sauce. Served with jasmine rice), the Lo Mein Noodles (Stir-fried noodles with julienned shiitake mushrooms, choy sum greens, soy sauce, and shrimp), seafood dumplings (Lobster, shrimp, and scallop dumplings served in garlic and black mushroom sauce with fried Youtiao doughnuts), Chicken Curry Bao (Steamed buns filled with spicy yellow chicken and vegetable curry), the Beef with Longhorn Peopers (Sautéed beef, ginger, and longhorn peppers with Shaoxing wine sauce. Served with jasmine rice), the Xiao Long Bao (Steamed crab and ground pork soup dumplings), Nasi Goreng Crab Fried Rice (Traditional Indonesian Chinese fried rice with blue crab meat, Nam Pla fish sauce, house made Nasi Goreng sauce, served in an egg crêpe), and the General Tso's Chicken (Crunchy, sweet, and tangy, Bhavana's General Tso comes with your choice of chicken or tofu tossed in our house-made General sauce and topped with sesame seeds. Served with jasmine rice). By far our favorite food items were the seafood dumplings (excellent flavor, Chinese donuts were so good, along with the flavor from the broth), and the shrimp lo mein noodles (cooked perfectly and the sauce was perfectly distributed). Definitely check out brewery bhavana if you are looking for excellent Chinese food in the Raleigh area. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

My husband dined here several years ago, and…read moreevery time Raleigh comes up in conversation, he hyped this local gem up to me and said it was a must-visit whenever we had the chance. Well, I finally got to try Brewery Bhavana and it was indeed incredible. Definitely worth the hype. We met my coworker and her partner here for dinner, and I was grateful we had a reservation because this spot was poppin' on a Monday night! The dining room is huge, but the decor breaks things up a bit and makes your meal feel intimate. Everything is shareable, so I highly recommend visiting with fellow foodies who want to try a little bit of everything. Honestly the entire menu sounded amazing, and it was hard to choose! Thankfully our servers provided some excellent recommendations. The Pork Bao was probably my favorite bite of the night, and may very well have been the best Bao I've ever had. The Lap Cheung Fried Rice was also delicious, and I'm usually not a fried rice person! Also worth mentioning is the Lo Mein, which we ordered with chicken. We didn't stay for dessert, but all of their sweet offerings sounded incredible as well. I did try one of the beers they brew on-site, the Sow. It was light and sippable, and I appreciate their diverse beer and cocktail offerings. I can't wait to visit Raleigh again because this will be my first stop!

The oxtails were small but had plenty of meat and were flavorful. This worked out for the snack plate since i got more than just one large tail.. Quick friendly service too. I selected my two side choices, which were mac and cheese and collard greens. Despite the price that was listed on the overhead menu for the snack selection, which included two sides, I was told I had to pay an upcharge of $3.00 for the mac and cheese. I did not want to argue about something that I felt was unfair and inappropriate. What made the situation really disturbing was that the overcharged mac and cheese was ruined because it was placed and mixed with the oxtail meat and oxtail juices. This situation led to a decline in the food's quality, which did not meet my expectations. The presentation of the small snack container was very unappealing because the three food choices were squished together in a tiny container. My total charge for the small, tight, thin oxtails and two sides snack was not at all worth the $20.00 I was charged. The quality of the oxtails was a real disappointment that needs major improvement. I was expecting much better quality, and I would not recommend this food location based on my recent visit.

Nothing to rave about at this place honestly…read more Originally went with a group of friends and my child to the Merchant which is upstairs before 8pm but they said they are 21+ only all day. But Virgil's said we could eat there so we did just to pass time while the rest of the friends went upstairs to eat & drink and use their Offline codes. But we ended up ordering the Chicken Tinga & Al Pastor tacos, the queso and the cilantro lime rice. Nothing had a memorable flavor to it. My child liked the chicken tinga though and he's a pretty harsh, miniature critic.

The chips were definitely my favorite with each chip being a fried tortilla. The guac was also great and fresh. The fried avocado tacos I got were not good. There was no flavor with the tacos and had to use a lot of hot sauce to get any flavor with these. The drinks were also nothing special and seemed rather lacking. I will say this was based on the physical menu. It seems like there is a menu online which had more options so not sure exactly how that worked. The vibes inside were great with good music as well. The staff was helpful and everything was very speedy. The prices were definitely on the higher end and may not be able to justify some of the dishes based on the cost. Overall, I think this place is okay. I really wish the tacos were more flavorful but would consider coming back to try some of their other dishes.

Local sources were strained by the demand and my procrastination didn't help matters. Called these guys on a Thursday night around 4:00 PM MST. They're east coast but somebody answered and took my order. I think he was an owner. He mentioned that it was his wife that made shipping arrangements. Told me that it was going to be tight getting these to me for the following Friday but he would do what he could. As promised, these were placed on a pallet and shipped via UPS Freight that next day. Got a call from UPS the following Tuesday that they were available to pick up. Perhaps LTL gets better than UPS Freight but I doubt it. Anyway, high quality sailboat stands. Above and beyond service. Great pricing. I am absolutely content and would use ScaffoldMart again and again and again. I don't think I'll need to but nevertheless, they have a customer for life here in Salt Lake City, Utah!
