We recently stopped into Ashley Furniture looking for a new couch. From the moment we walked in, it felt more like stepping onto a used car lot than a furniture store. Salespeople were practically waiting at the door, clearly rotating on who would approach next. It was overwhelming right from the start. Despite the initial discomfort, we actually found a couch we liked. It came in six customizable pieces (for an additional cost), which would allow us to build exactly what we wanted. We spoke with Cesar and explained our preferences. I also asked about upcoming Labor Day promotions, and he said he'd work up a quote and email it to me within the hour. While we waited, we decided to check out another local furniture store for comparison. Two hours later, still no quote--so I called to confirm they had the correct email. I was told they were "very busy," which felt odd since there had only been one other couple in the store during our visit. I was promised the quote would be sent by the end of the day (7 PM). We ended up liking another couch at the other store, but before making a final decision, we returned to Ashley to compare one last time. Again, we were intercepted by the rotating sales team until they realized we had already worked with Cesar, who was available but still hadn't sent the quote. We were the only customers in the store for the first 5 minutes. By this point, it started to feel like numbers were being shuffled to make it look like a deal. I asked a different employee about delivery and installation, and was told it would be $119-$159. When I finally received the quote, the pieces were discounted, but the delivery charge was $229, a $359 protection plan was added without discussion, and the configuration wasn't even what we requested (which I understand--mistakes happen). I emailed back with questions, and while Cesar did "honor" the lower delivery fee we were told, it was still on the higher end. From the start, the entire experience felt less than transparent. Even though we genuinely liked the couch, the service made me uneasy. When you're spending nearly $4,000 on furniture, you want to feel confident in both the product and the people you're buying it from. Unfortunately, that just wasn't the case here. read more

Was able to cancel 1/2 orders as for tired of waiting.,. And they can't give me refund receipt, email or confirmation number. Are you serious? Even more ridiculous, I get daily email saying g I can get my orders Delivered sooner, and at the same time they dont have everything orders available. This is joke, LOL! Went to the new Ashley Furniture HomeStore on SW Bonita Road in Tigard, OR and am now wishing I read the Yelp reviews beforehand. Was given the hard sell at the time, but still picked out exactly what we wanted. Was assured by store staff that excellent communication would ensue leading up to delivery. Got two calls confirming delivery day and delivery time window. Got another call narrowing it further on delivery day - Yay! Then, surprise! I received a call that today "might not happen" and if we could reschedule, and "oh, by the way" one of the pieces is damaged and am I willing to accept it!?!?!? I am on the verge of cancelling my order and will loudly join the chorus of "Do not shop at Ashley" very soon if this is not fixed. So far, caveat emptor for sure. If you are thinking about going to the newest location in Tigard, be forewarned, but I will happily update my post if they course correct (or not). I purchased furniture from them online. According to the website, the furniture was supposed to arrive within a couple of weeks. Okay. No problem. A couple of days before the furniture was supposed to arrive, I received an automated call stating I was to receive a delivery from Ashley furniture in a couple of days. However, the day before the furniture was to arrive, I received a call from the Ashley warehouse telling me I wasn't going to receive the furniture because it hadn't been made yet. Seriously? So I called the store to find out what's going on. They apologize and give the usual customer service speech. At that point, I am infuriated! So I cancel the order and ask for a refund, which they give. They even emailed me the invoice showing the money has been refunded, which takes about 5-7 business days. A week goes by and no refund has been posted to my credit card. I call the store and no one answers. I got transferred to customer service for the company. The woman on the phone is speaking English, but I can barely understand what she's saying! In what country is their call center!! So when I finally do get someone at the store, I ask them when they will have the furniture I want in stock. Well, it's at least a month. Then the woman on the phone (Stephanie, the store manager) tells me they have the piece I want on the showroom floor and that I can purchase that one. Why didn't you offer this before?!? So I went down there to look at it and purchased the furniture. While I'm there, I ask about my refund. "Oh, you have to come into the store to complete a refund transaction." NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THAT!! So I'm waiting TWO WEEKS for my refund!! During that time, I filed a dispute of the charges with my credit card company since I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone at Ashley Furniture. So, I ended up getting a sofa and loveseat from the store, which was delivered the next day. They refunded my money minus the cost of the sofa and loveseat. The next business day I got TWO calls from the store manager and the regional manager stating they received an email saying my credit card company issued me a refund for everything Ashley owed me. This results in a negative balance for Ashley Furniture. Well, you should have issued the refund when you were supposed to!! I called my credit card company to cancel the disputes, so that everything will be balanced out. Ashley Furniture will just have to wait for my credit card company to issue them their money just like I had to wait for my refund!! In the end, things got straightened out...sort of. Now I have to keep an eye out and make sure my credit card company gives them the money they're due. Unlike Ashley Furniture, I'm sure they will get it right! But the bottom line is, DON'T TRUST THIS STORE! Don't trust this company. They make promises they can't keep, and they are slow in issuing any refunds! Their customer service isn't even in the U.S.!! If I could leave no stars I would. You used to be able to trust this name brand but they've gone downhill. I purchased bedroom furniture back in mid February. Store employees are of course awesome and so friendly but they don't tell you that you will literally wait MONTHS for your purchase. If you need something now, or sooner rather than waiting minimum 3 months. Go somewhere else. I called customer service as I was supposed to receive my furniture this week and the guy nonchalantly tells me it's been changed to end of May. "They were supposed to notify you but I don't know what happened" then after all is said and done, silence and nothing but background noise "is that all I can help you with today?" And silence again. No customer service skills whatsoever when you call CUSTOMER SERVICE. Sooo the purchasing itself was a great experience but the waiting period is beyond ridiculous and forget about being treated like a valued customer. Also, the thousands of dollars you spend on solid wood. It's not solid wood so it won't last. I do not recommend Ashley Furniture. Stay away. Wish I would have come here to read reviews first, but I have purchased with Ashley Furniture when I lived in a different state and the experience was tolerable then. Now is a completely different story. I went into the store with an idea of what I wanted. The salesman...was in interesting guy and was not really any help at all with me making a selection and seemed to lack knowledge. I should have taken that as a red flag but I found a great deal on a bedroom set with a mattress/foundation and I was told I would receive visa gift cards after delivery as a form of further discount. The total seemed higher than expected and was not told about the $300 delivery charge until I was about to swipe by card, second red flag. I was told they would be putting everything together in addition to delivering so I was fine with it. Third red flag was that there was no date for delivery on the invoice. I asked about it as I needed the furniture soon since my old set was broken and I was in need of a new one as soon as possible. The salesman told me that he put a date for the 27th in the system but "some of the items are out of stock" and I can check the status via their website. I let a week go by before checking, and their website cannot even find my order. I try to call the customer service number on the site and it disconnects me even after several attempts. The Invoice said to call the actual store, but that led to a phone tree which had a long wait. Tried the callback feature, but no luck. Then tried to a different number on the site....again disconnected. Last was the "chat with a live agent" on my conmputer. I found out that some pieces of my order were in stock but others had no delivery estimate. I elected to cancel my order via this chat. I was told that a request would be submitted and I would receive a full refund and confirmation via email within 24-48 hours. Fast forward 72 hours and nothing. So I went through the song and dance of trying the phones again. Did not trust the callback feature so I waited for ONE HOUR on hold before being disconnected. Back to chat it is. I was informed via the second chat that there was no request for a return and they would get on it immediately. Not surprisingly this also failed and I am still in the dark as to what is going on and have yet to get anyone on the phone. I tried one last time for the phone and was disconnected saying I was calling outside business hours...at 11am on a Thursday. Luckily there was an option to save the chat transcripts, had a feeling I would need them as they were sent (along with phone records) to my credit card company as part of the evidence for my transaction dispute. If I could mark it lower I would. We bought a living room suite about 2 years ago, with the 5-year added protection. The furniture hasn't held up very well and they have come out several times to adjust the "rolling" on the ottoman. Now there are separations in the fabric. I've been on chat "hold" for over an hour and am transferred to ANOTHER agent who is asking the same questions as in the previous chat (if they would only scroll up), as if it is a new call. I called in to both the toll free and store-direct number. If you are on hold more than 15 minutes it will automatically hang up on you (they promise), or you can leave a message that (may be) returned in the next 72 hours. So, lesson learned? Think twice before buying the furniture, adding the protection agreement and wanting to have "reasonable" response times to on-going issues. La-z-boy is looking like a contender for the living room suite we wanted to buy this weekend for our recent remodel.... read more

My biggest frustration is the lack of transparency, professionalism and communication coming from staff. I placed my order April 28th and I was promised delivery mid June. It is now September and still no items. A simple email/call notifying me that the delivery has been rescheduled would make a huge difference. I have canceled many meetings and took time off work after being promised a set delivery date just to be stood up. I would be less frustrated if from the beginning I was given a realistic timeframe instead the staff over promising and under delivering. I have purchased numerous items over the years and never have I been so disgusted with the experience until now. The staff has been unresponsive, dishonest and very unpleasant. We will NEVER purchase anything from an Ashley HomeStore again. The experience has quite literally been a nightmare from start to finish. We purchased a new mattress, box spring, and frame from them about a month ago and have yet to be able to sleep in the bed. The frame was delivered first and did not have the correct center support legs to complete the setup - so we were told that they would order more. We were never updated about when these pieces would be delivered. They were delivered today (2 weeks later) and instead of delivering the new pieces, we were shipped the exact same legs they brought here to begin with making it so that we STILL cannot sleep on the bed we purchased. Aside from this issue, the upholstery on the railings was torn when delivered (couldn't have been us because we have not slept on the mattress/frame). So we told them of this issue and while they are sending someone out to fix this issue, we still will not be able to use the bed until the primary issue of the incorrect legs gets solved, which will take 2 more weeks since the legs need to be shipped. It is frustrating to pay an insane amount of money for furniture we can't even use and showed up damaged. At this point it seems that we will make our first payment on the furniture before we can even use it. We will definitely go ANYWHERE else for any future furniture needs. read more

I tried calling the store again just to see and was directed to another customer service rep where our finalized date is MAY 24th. We are cancelling our order and will not be doing business with Ashley again. Currently waiting on a couch that we ordered December 16th, 2020. Originally were told it would arrive February 3rd. Had called to confirm that date and it was moved to the 10th... called again to confirm... moved to the 27th. Opened a claim to find out when the actual date would be and the store called back and said March 3rd. AND now March 7th. The store offered us a $50 credit when we bought a $600 couch. We were supposed to receive a call today and never did. After reading other reviews this looks like a common theme. We both understand that factories due to COVID and the California fires are behind, however, if we were told how long this process would be, we would have bought a couch elsewhere. We have been using bean bags to sit on in our living room for the last month and will for another month. We have also had to be the ones to reach out each time about our couch and every time we call, the delivery date gets extended. We were told that we could schedule the furniture delivery out to ensure that all of our furniture would arrive one time- the delivery date was set for Nov. 17. On Sat 14, I was notified via phone call that 3 of our items were on backorder and because of these 3 items the remaining 7 items already in the warehouse, waiting) would all be delivered together on 11/28. I clearly stated that this would not work as we needed our furniture before Thanksgiving. The customer service agent said she was able to schedule a partial delivery for 11/17 (with the items that were already in the warehouse) and the other 3 items would be delivered on 11/21. She also stated that I would recieve a call for my delivery window by Monday 11/16. Today I called, because I had not recieved a phone call confirming a delivery time. The customer service agent told me they had no notes about my returned call on saturday 11/14, and furthermore stated that the soonest I could get my furniture is December 1, weeks after my expected delivery date! Hello all - This occured in May, 2022. In November 2021, my wife and I recently purchased a dining room set at the store in Beaverton / Tigard, OR. The ETA on the table/chairs / bench was set to be delivered July 2022. We understood that it was due to supply chain issues. There was some communication issues between the delivery team/store in regards to part of the order. But that is not the reason for the low score. The reason for the low review was due to the level of service we received at the store. Let me clarify, the employees who helped us were great. But the level of service was not. The table that we ordered and got delivered arrived damaged. We refused delivery. We did accept the bench/chairs though. The chairs got delivered about 2-3 weeks prior to this. So at this point, we had 4 chairs and a bench at our house. No table. When we went to the store, we were provided 2 options. Either order a new table and wait another 6-8 months for it to arrive or take the entire set of the floor display. This would be the chairs and the bench. They were willing to repair the minor scratches on the table that was on display. The catch. If we went with the floor model, they only offered $100 off and would not deliver. We would have to use our time and $ to get a truck to pick it up. If we went with the display, they would send a truck to our house to pick up the chairs / bench we already got. But they are not able to deliver the display table / chairs / bench to us. They did say that they may have a 3rd party moving company assist with the delivery. But it would not be an Ashley Furniture delivery team. And I do not know who would be expected to pay the cost of that delivery. The sales associate let us know that a co-worker of his either works for a moving company, or knows someone in a delivery company that might have been able to help. If they were willing to deliver the floor model table / bench / chairs, we would have accepted. But the time/energy put into this was too much to get a dining room set. On the day of delivery both beds and two dressers were damaged and didn't even make it off the truck. All were returned with new delivery date TBD. I ended up having to wait three weeks for new delivery date. On the new delivery date only the rails showed up for one of the beds. In talking with customer service I was first told the head board and foot board were forgotten, then I was told they were damaged, then I was told they showed as delivered in the system, all in the same call. They corrected the invoice to show not delivered and unknown when I will see them, could be another 2-3 weeks. Only partial refund on delivery charge no refund on the bed. WE WERE COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF. DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Our couch broke in less than a year. We found out our warranty was voided because we moved to a different city a few hours away. We found out the warranty was voided after calling a few times a week for almost two months. Initially they blamed us for not sending pictures (?) after never requesting pictures. Then they sent us to GBS. We had to call GBS every day for almost two weeks before finding out that they can't help us either. Not one employee at the original store or at our new city store tried to help us. They dragged it out for over two months, forcing us to continue calling without offering any information or help. Now we have $600 left to pay on a broken couch -- that we will have to pay a junk company to remove for an additional fee. Apart from the expensive product being suboptimal and breaking in less than a year, the abysmal customer service is the reason why I'm writing this review. Will never ever buy anything from Ashley. Not even the brand sold in any other stores. The customer service is in no position to help. They are not in control of anything. Distribution warehouses only who have contracts with Ashley corporate. They are in control and answer to nobody. We literally had our dining room table dropped off not assembled. Driver & independent truck/contact co. The independent contractor said parts would come the next day for assembly. Customer service in Arizona was on speaker phone so everyone was in the same page. Next day we call CS. They have to call distribution warehouse as they know nothing. Mgr of distribution co denied everything and then proceeded to say they didn't have the parts to CS. But again no date when they would have parts. Mind you this was after 10+ calls to CS who don't know anything. Before the table and after the drop off. Only till I went into the store and I explained to the Mgr of the store to pick up the table and replace it with one with parts or unwind the deal. Did we receive the table a week later. Kudos to her and her Mgr. No one deserves to be at the mercy of a incompetent, who cares attitude distribution center. FYI the stores and CS is beholding to them. Not the other way around (several stores confirmed they steer their clients away from Ashley furniture so they don't have to deal with delivery issues, dang!) If a company cannot be informative, honest and well run they deserve to continue to get bad feedback. We made the mistake of googling in the mess before purchasing. When we hadn't received a call, we tried to call them, but they NEVER answer the phone. We went back to the store and were told the complete order would not be ready for another 2 months. The final straw was when we got a call that they were delivering 4 dining room chairs, but the bench, table breakfront and entire living room were not in yet. Then, on the date they said the chairs were coming, they just never showed up--and not even a phone call. After three-and-a-half months, we cancelled the entire order after we were told it would be 4 months longer to complete the order. FRUSTRATING! If we were told six months when we initially bought the furniture, that would've have been a decision we would have made at that time and been satisfied. But the constant lies and unprofessionalism of the staff is unpalatable. And the sales staff are shady and challenging to work with. There are so many furniture dealers in Portland. You don't need to deal with these Bozos. Go to Mor furniture right next door. We had a great experience over there. Don't do what we did and ignore the warnings. read more

I went there looking for a bedroom set for my new town house. My girlfriend is pregnant and we are expecting a baby in January so we both needed some new furniture especially the bed. I Upgraded from a full size to a queen mattress. Both my girlfriend and I are very excited for this new set. Jack made it so easy and painless and there was no pressure or expectation for us to buy anything. The manager of the store was also very helpful and she made everything so easy. My friend was looking for a bed with drawer's underneath and a mattress. She is special needs, so I came along to help her and pay for it. We looked at the bed on the floor and decided on it. It had two drawers. We were quoted a price that we agreed on. On to the mattress area. Laid on a few mattresses for 20 to 30 minutes and decide on one. Salesperson started to do some pricing and then told us it did not come in the full size. So, we moved on to another mattress and spent another 30 minutes deciding. It came in a full size. Wrote up the paperwork and paid and scheduled a deliver date. This is where it all went south! When they came to deliver the bed, the mattress was not on the truck. Delivery said it was backordered. We had taken the old bed to the dump the day before!! What good is a bed without a mattress. Why make a deliver if the order is not complete! Why didn't someone call and say the mattress was not ready and reschedule the delivery?? I was livid!! What was she going to sleep on? PLUS the base did NOT have drawers. Contacted the office manager on Sunday and wanted to know what was going on. She told me the warehouse was not available and would call me Monday. She also said that the order was not written up for a bed with drawers. It would be $400 more, I declined. Now two nights on the floor and she doesn't own a sofa and she needs to be at work on Monday!! Was contacted on Monday and was told the mattress would be delivered on Wednesday PM. It wasn't backordered, just a clerical error. TWO more nights on the floor. Wednesday the delivery set the mattress on the bed and told her to let it open up and not to use it for 24-72 hours. It was rolled up in the truck. Was not told that she could not sleep on it the first night or more. ANOTHER night on the floor! Since this order was already wrong why was it not flagged, and the mattress opened up at the warehouse before the delivery? As of Friday, two days after the delivery, the bed is still not flat and full. OREDED TWO ITEMS AND COULDN'T GET EITHER ITEM CORRECT AND SEVEN NIGHTS ON THE FLOOR AND HAVE TO GO TO WORK!! Not a good experience. Salesman was very pushy. He told me about their showroom and then suggested I look around, before interrupting me 3 minutes later to jabber on about pricing before I even had even found anything I liked. When I later tried to leave, politely thanking him and saying I'd done enough research for the day and might be back, he badgered me about why I wasn't buying today. Made me feel very uncomfortable. Consumers know they have options and these pushy sales tactics don't work anymore. Won't be going back to Ashley. read more

Super disappointed in the delivery ETA. The salesman, Brandon, committed to an ETA OF 6-8 weeks (we placed our order July 3rd) and now most of our items are not arriving until January! We keep calling and they keeping pushing back our delivery date. If you want your furniture in a timely manner don't go to Ashley. read more

They need to update their website as the Tigard store has closed. I went there yesterday based on shopping on their website and was not happy to find the store empty and dark when I made a personal trip to view a couch. While I was on the sidewalk, 2 other families came up, finding the store non-existent. While I was in my car, calling another Ashley store, at least 2-3 other cars pulled up and people were looking into the empty windows and trying the locked front door. There was no signage anywhere to indicate this stored had been closed down. TOTAL WASTE OF GAS AND TIME. read more

I wish I can give less than one star if i can. Cheaters and liars. I happened to buy a dining set and a coffee table along with the corner tables on Nov 2nd. And they promised that coffee table set will be delivered by Nov 6th and the dining set on Nov 15th. And tried to check the status of my order on Nov 8th. They said they cannot deliver anything until 18th. I got stuck here and spoke to the manager and she said she will come back with an update by the end of the day. And never called me or dropped an email. Today I got an email from one of the store sales representatives asking me that am I comfortable with Nov 20th delivery date. They need negative stars. This is just an incredibly unprofessional store. My husband and I shopped the Black Friday sale Nov. 2021. That part was easy. They were happy to take our money, paid in full, including a very high delivery charge. We were told it would take 4-6 months for our furniture to be delivered. That was disappointing, but we agreed. So, four months go by, we hear nothing, so I decided to call. After a long wait on hold I talk to "customer service", which was super bizarre because I had trouble hearing the person because their were roosters, yes, as in live chickens, crowing right there next to her. This person told me I didn't have an order and was extremely unhelpful. When I pressed her to look some more she literally just put me back into the same phone loop, but at the beginning. So, I went into the store, asked to talk to the manager. Explained my plight. She was discourteous and dismissive. Her computer said no order, so apparently I was supposed to just be happy with that and go away. Fortunately I kept all of my paperwork and they have hard copies in the back. The manager comes back, literally crying, saying that she is confused. Back in December I was refunded the money back to my credit card. No apologies. No explanations. No "what can we do to make you happy". And supposedly I was talking to the store manager. Here I am 4 months later, no furniture. If they had contacted me to let me know they had no intention of honoring their sale, that I had wasted hours there I just might have furniture from another store. But no, I wasted another 4 MONTHS, patiently waiting for nothing. I left, as I was apparently dismissed upon receiving a printout that they had cancelled my order shortly after I placed it. And the guy behind me was there for the exact same thing. He had bought his children furniture at the same sale, and had no furniture, no word from them, and had called the same endless "customer service" loop. Apparently he was spared the rooster crowing contest I had to endure. read more

So incredibly disappointed. Bought a couch, chair and ottoman at the end of August, 2021. What made our final decision was that all the pieces were "in stock". They told us delivery would be two weeks into September. We received a call one week before said delivery date that nothing would be delivered until October. When we received another call about delayed delivery, we went to the store and they said it will be best to split the order so it will go faster. So we did, received the chair and ottoman only. However, the couch has been delayed many more times...so much so that it is now February 2, 2022 and still no couch. We were told that it needs to come from another warehouse...but what i don't understand is that it was "in stock." We cannot return or get our money back because "it was best to split the order." We are hoping we actually do get this couch in February, as they said, but not holding our breath. We have had custom windows measured for, ordered, built, sent, and installed all before our "in stock" couch was delivered. We will never shop at Ashley Homestore Outlet again and we have told as many people as possible the situation we have found ourselves in. We had a great purchase experience with Desi. We ordered a living room set in February and it was backordered and we couldn't have it delivered until May 6th. No big deal - we bought it and patiently waited for May 6th. 2 days later we go back in to buy a dresser. We were advised that we could put the dresser into the same delivery as the couch if we would like to save money on a delivery fee - or we could have the dresser ASAP. We opted to lump all items together. Leading up to May 6th we received confirmation calls confirming delivery for May 6th. On the day of delivery we only received the dresser. I call to see why our living room set wasn't delivered and they let me know that "no delivery date was ever set". I call them on this and reference my purchase contract that confirms that my delivery date was 5/6 and they give me some runaround answer about how it never was set. I asked to be escalated to management because the rep wouldn't answer my questions clearly and she hangs up on me. I go into the store and the in-store manager gives me some excuse of having a new computer system and that a lot of items lost their shipment dates. Why did I get confirmation of it coming via phone just days prior then? Why was I not informed of the delay in shipping? Why can NOBODY give me the same answer? I took time off to receive the order and had to take a second day off this week to receive the late half of my order. Not cool. Terrible customer service and nobody seems to care. I want this made right or I will never buy from this company again. read more

We ordered some barstools from Ashley Homestore in December. It took 7 months for them to arrive (not the Store's fault). Upon receiving the chairs, some assembly was required. Unfortunately, one of the chairs was missing a critical part and would be unusable without it. We went to the store and worked with Brandon. He said that if we could find that chair in the store, he would work with the manager to allow us to exchange it (instead of waiting months for the part). Luckily, we found the chair and Brandon was able to work the exchange. He was so helpful in allowing us to make the exchange. Very satisfied with his customer service as he genuinely wanted to help. I would recommend this store to anyone interested in good furniture. read more

Our experience with Ashley is not only bad, it is disgusting. A company who acts like they are doing you a favor by taking your money without giving you your purchase. Paid for furniture in August when they told us a bedroom set we wanted was in stock. We have gotten the runaround for months and now, in late October they are saying they don't know when we will get the furniture; maybe it hasn't been manufactured or it was given to another customer. What??? We can NEVER get through to the store directly, and have tried for months. We eventually reach their general call center where customer service reps act disinterested, speak abruptly, are cold and talks-over the customer. This is honestly the worst purchase experience I ever had...bar none. read more
