I spent nearly $5,000 on a sectional in March and within a week a piece of it broke. I have been calling over and over, speaking with Yvonne who had one excuse after another. The repair man was out on a family emergency, she didn't know when he was going to be back, she is ordering the parts and will call me back to schedule. Well, I'm still waiting so called again. I spoke to Cyress, who said he is the manager, who was immediately rude and asked me if I sent an email this morning. I said no. He laughed and asked how I could have called about needing a repair when their process is to have the customer send an email. I told him I felt like I was being pushed off and he said I needed to call tomorrow and talk to Yvonne. I said I have been getting the run around so is there somebody else I can speak to. He said no, you should have sent an email. I said, ok I'm recording this conversation and he hung up and me and now refuses to answer. I had the best service from Levi Hamilton! This store is a real hidden gem in Tigard. The signage does not do it justice! The store is well stocked and well merchandised with the same brands you will see at higher end stores. Great service and a really positive shopping experience. While the associates are nice and helpful, I wanted to caution anyone on the fence about purchasing items from this store, that they have a No Return policy, including items they do not have on the floor that you would purchase online. I came in wanting to see a sectional that was listed on their website, that they didn't have for viewing, and only when asked about their return policy, the associate mentioned that everything is final sale. I'm not sure how that works for their business or reputation, but if it does, good for them. To have items only available online but non-returnable if you are unhappy for any reason was a deal breaker for me. You are better off purchasing higher quality, reasonably priced furniture from Wayfair or Overstock. So I ordered a couch online. It was , of course, the most popular couch around. I ordered in September, they said it would be delivered in December. December came and they said January. This whole time, the internet sales person kept me in the loop. Finally I had enough. They said sometime in March. We canceled the order and decided to look around. We went to a few spots and were really disappointed. We decided to go to the warehouse in Tigard. We were met with great service. I told them the story and all of them were apologetic and so very nice. We found a sectional on special. And they said "we have it, but it's the other way". Which was what we wanted! Yay! My husband and I sent to Jr Furniture. BIG MISTAKE. I told the manager I was writing a review and he tried to tell me what to write on my review that I am writing. What a clown... We ordered a dresser and mirror and payed all up front. The first time it came in it was damaged in three places, dent on top, bottom drawer wouldn't open, and there was a big gash in the back. Had them take it back. The second time it was damaged in two places. The top and bottom drawer wouldn't open. Called to get our money back to look for another dresser elsewhere and they won't do it so now we are stuck with the POS that's coming and can't get our money back for something. Not good business. The sales staff was very helpful in assisting me with a purchase for my living room. I purchased a leather loveseat from JR Furniture in Tigard, and discovered a small flaw in the leather a couple weeks after delivery. The manager was great about replacing the loveseat in a timely manner. I really enjoy the loveseat and the matching recliner I purchased. I bought a mattress from the now closed Hillsboro store 2 years ago. Paid for the extended warranty as I'm a bigger guy and wanted to ensure the mattress held up. After paying $2000 for the mattress it began fraying and coming apart within 6 months. I thought I began the warranty process with the store but never heard back. Life happened and 6 months went by. I checked back and they had no idea what I was talking about. I started the process again. Checking back every month or so and being told the manager was handling it. After a year I finally heard from someone that they had all my information and would be forwarding it to the manufacturer for the warranty. Another 6 months went by before I finally heard they would replace my mattress. By now the Hillsboro store was closing. Another 3 months and I get a call from the Tigard store telling me I have to come pick up my new mattress. I have email exchanges with the store and manufacturer saying it will be delivered to my home. Now I'm being told it isn't. I have to rent a truck as a king size won't fit in my car and pick it up. When speaking with the manager she tells me it's policy because I picked up the previous one. They have horrible customer service and sell faulty products. Do not shop here. read more

My wife and I purchased a couch, love seat and two Ashley end tables. We made our purchase on 10-14-21. The delivery date for the end tables was 6-8 weeks - some time between 11-25 and 12-9. December 9 no word from JR so I called and was told the tables weren't available and not sure when or if the tables would be available. Another month goes by and still no word so I called again on 01-18-22 and was told the tables were not available and was sent a text showing the Ashely web site and the tables were not available in the Ashley warehouse. I talked with both Rueben and Frank (he is the store manager) requesting the cancellation of my order and the return of my $579.80 - I was told it's their policy to not refund...... Go figure? I ended up contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge and the return of my money. My advice is to not buy from JR furniture ..... they are vey friendly when making the purchase but after that you're on your own. Very poor follow-up, poor customer service (almost arrogant) and certainly not willing to take care of their customers. I would be very surprised if they have very many repeat customers. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE Sales rep was rude to my friend and I, but we both found items we loved so we brushed it off. We were told by the manager the sales rep would call us weekly to provide updates on delivery, even if there weren't any changes, yet neither of us ever heard from her or received an update call from anyone for that matter. My friend called after about a month and found out they had her item for weeks but never said anything, it also looked nothing like the picture the sales associate showed us in store which was very disappointing. I was initially told 4-6 weeks for my couch, it's been 2 months and I still don't even have a delivery date. I never received a call with an update from anyone and when I called to check the status and told the person who answered that I was told I would receive call updates she literally said "oh he must have been joking". The heck?! I've called a few times and they're always rude/seem annoyed and keep saying "I don't know why there's no date because everyone before and after you has a date". One person said they would call the manufacturer and call me back with more info never heard from them again. At this point I just want a refund so I can buy the couch elsewhere. We ran into an issue when our beautiful leather couch wasn't able to fit in the doorway of our apartment and had to be returned to the store. Rob did a fantastic job of helping us think outside the box for some other options that fit our picky tastes. It seemed like every interaction we had with the store kept getting better and better. Very fair price, easy transaction. It is all too rare now to get a salesman who is genuinely more concerned with your personal satisfaction and use of the furniture than they are getting a deal done. Just under 2 years ago we came in and spent a bunch of money with this company. We bought a new bed, 2 new couches, a coffee table, rug and new bedroom set. After 8 months the mattress was SHOT. It is lumpy and not right. We dealt with it for almost a year before calling to inquire about the warranty. They said they'd get in touch with the mattress company and get back to me in less than a week. 2 weeks later after no response I call again. When Craig the manager finally got back to me he said if there is any stains on the bed the warranty is void. Who in the hell doesn't have 1 single stain on their bed??? I'd love to know... This store is over priced, with terrible staff and service. Going ANYWHERE else would be advised. They sell you faulty mattresses and then don't honor their warranties. We purchased a sofa through Jr to support a local furniture business. When we picked the sofa up they had little assistance to help with loading, despite telling us they could help before we drove over to pick it up. When we unsealed the sofa, the pillows were incorrect and there was a tear in the ottoman. We phoned immediately. They agreed to replace the two pillows with the correct color and the cover of the ottoman. They stated it would take approximately two weeks. Fast forward four plus weeks we got the call it was ready. They advised us to bring the cushion in and they would replace the cover, should take no more than 30 min. We arrived to the store to see no customs in the store, but four employees sitting in the recliners on their phones. In fact I joked they looked comfortable. The employee who approached explained he had no one there to do it and he would have to and it would take at least a few hours and we could pick up later in the afternoon. We had plans and could not return. We agreed to pick up Sunday. I phoned at 1020 Sunday AM, a full 24 hours later. They haven't even started it. When I asked for an explanation, i heard, "We were really slammed yesterday, you can pick it up at noon." They have now stolen more than two hours of our time in travel. It would appear they have zero cares about customers once they have your money and or integrity in their promises! We Will NEVER shop at JR again! read more

**DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS STORE!!** We purchased two sofas in December and paid in full. We were told 6-8 weeks for delivery. We have never received any calls with updates. When the six weeks were up we called and were told two more weeks. When that two weeks passed we called again and were told one more week. We called when that week passed and were told another three weeks which would be the end of March. They told us they have been waiting for shipments from the manufacturer, Emerald Furniture, since November. Well why did they give us a 6-8 week time frame if they knew it was going to take longer? He offered to give us a set that was in the store but belonged to someone else which would've pushed their delivery out. We obviously turned that down. I don't know who the other reviewers are talking to, but I've been to this location 3 times and EVERY time, I've been approached by a sales guy. The first guy asked if we needed help and when I let him know that I was just looking, he backed right off but was available when I decided I wanted to buy something. I purchased a floor model sofa & loveseat for a steal, but couldn't decide on the matching chair. I had to make 2 additional trips to pick up the items and on the last trip, asked the manager if he'd make a deal on the chair. He did, I took it and I'm happy. Just a word to the wise: if you're an idiot, these guys will still treat you kindly. I thought I could fit two of the pieces into my truck, but it took a bunch of maneuvering and some bungees to make it happen. We went in in Mid August to buy a bed for each of my sons. We were told the beds would be in in 1-2 week. We ended up deciding to also purchase the matching dressers and side tables, we were told everything would come in together. Fast forward 6 weeks and we have gotten 1 bed and 1 headboard that has the wrong hardware. We have called weekly and they keep saying it will be here next week then the week passes and we get no call or update. We call last week and they said it will be here the week of 9/22, we call on 9/26 and they tell us it should be on the Ashley truck on 9/27. We call on 9/28 and they tell us it's not on the truck and the manager will call Ashley on 9/30. We call tonight and then guy is like, oh you dressers and nightstand are here. WTF?! Great experience. Ordered a Stanton loveseat in a custom (Stanton) fabric. There are a lot of furniture retailers selling Stanton in greater-Portland, and we could have ordered this at any of these retailers. JR's in Tigard was the best price by $25 (to the next best price, and substantially less than most others). They stated a four week lead time and we had it in less than 3 weeks. Our efforts to rejoin the sections when they do come apart damages the pieces. JR keeps promising to call a repair technician and then confirm the call.
