We have spent a good amount of money in the Abilene store, and were even talked into the Purple Cow Protection plan, which we tried to redeem last week. After being passed of by a senior sales rep. A very nice young man named Jorden helped us even though he would not have reveived a commission on the sale. I had seen a rug online, and had called the store earlier in the week, and had received less than satisfactory results by that call. Jorden said yes, the rug could be ordered and looked up the item number for me. The ladies at customer service would be better suited writing parking tickets, as one of them flatly informed me I would have to call to see the balance left on PCP. The fact that I had never used it made no difference, and they refused to call for me, the customer. Jorden again was willing to call for me, but I called, and put it on speaker to share their horrible hold music. Once my $189 balance was verified, and I thought we were good, they informed me there would be a $90 fee to deliver the rug from Lubbock to Abilene...Really? They didnt do that when we bought a rug 5 years ago! Jorden was willing to pay the delivery fee out of his pocket, as it turns out, but we do not need the rug, only wanted what we were promised. If we do return to Ashley, will only deal with him in the future, as he went well over above and beyond to retain a customer, and it is appreciated. I would give Jorden 5 stars for his integrity, but the rest of ' em can take a flying leap. read more

Our sales rep was awesome! Helped us and was so easy to find what we wanted. Too bad Ashley has no idea about customer service. We bough a sofa/chaise and a massaging recliner. We needed them delivered in 6 weeks. Ashley texted us 2 days before telling us our delivery was still on schedule. They didn't show up in the delivery time so I texted. They replied that our delivery had been rescheduled to 3 weeks longer for the sofa and 6 weeks longer for the recliner. Customer service is handled thru an automated call center. You can't contact the store directly. Impossible to get any assistance after the sale. I texted and emailed to cancel the order. They said there's a process to do that.i said yes, I'm calling Amex to dispute and refund our money. Amex handled it. Do not do business with Ashley. We purchased a leather sectional in September. The sectional was delivered wrapped and the delivery men were clearly in a rush to get done. They quickly set up and took off. Within minutes we started noticing several defective/ripped areas. We took pictures of these areas and sent them to the number that was checking on our order. At first, they wanted to send someone to our house to reupholster the defective areas which we were not willing to do because it's defective! We went around and around and a lot of "holding" while they checked. The next option was to send us another sectional, which they acted like they were doing US a favor to do this. The lady I was talking to rudely asked me why we hadn't checked for defective areas BEFORE we accepted the sectional. I kind of laughed, and I said why would we think that Ashley Furniture would send a defective sectional to their customers. The entire sectional has to be replaced. They tried to replace sections of this sectionals, but after pictures of the defective areas it was established that the whole sectional needed to be replaced. They gave us a delivery date of the new replacement of October 18th and now it's looking like another month before they ship the replacement. I am so upset and disappointed. In fact, I asked if I could exchange this order to a cloth sectional instead of a leather sectional because I am completely turned off with this leather sectional. They said NO. I was told that before the replacement is unloaded at my house to go into the delivery truck and check the new sectional for defective areas. Really! I have to do this before I accept delivery of this new replacement sectional! So now I'm wondering what's going to happen if we find defective areas on the new replacement sectional? I just want to be done with this mess and just send me a cloth sectional, something that in my mind is not defective! Also, it's near impossible to contact anyone from the Abilene store where we bought this sectional. It's like once they got our money, we were discarded. They never called so I had to call myself and they said "Oh yeah, it's been in the warehouse for a while now." Ok. Cool. Thank you for letting me know. This is quite possibly the worst business in the history of businesses. Our buying experience has been terrible. There is no service after the sale. We ordered our bedroom furniture in November and given an estimated delivery of 2-6 weeks. Every time we visit the store to check on delivery they give us a different story with a different estimated delivery. I have a few friends in the same boat. They also say that they'll do a "push" on the order to possibly move the delivery date sooner. All the push seems to do is push the date farther away. Our initial buying experience was fine and I even gave a 5 star rating for a $75 in store gift certificate (that I assure you I'll never use). How wrong was I! Not only was our furniture delivered broken, which we paid extra for the purple cow coverage but after two months we have been given the run-around regarding fixing, and was told nothing would be done until after the first of the year, but our second piece of furniture was only PARTIALLY delivered. I had requested each time I spoke with a representative that I did not want the furniture if I couldn't have all the pieces, and yet they still partially delivered it anyway. Worst customer service ever!!! Tried to schedule a service call on a riser chair. First I had to call CS to order the parts I needed to fix chair...took 3 weeks to receive parts. Then I had to call back CS to schedule for a tech to come out and provide service on said chair. WAS On Hold For FOUR HOURS!!! Then service rep came back on line and said oh yeah your time for repair is. Blah blah date, like she Forgot I Was On Hold! Still did not get a date for service. Horrible! We bought an entire living room set of leather furniture from Ashley Home in Abilene. We bought 2 leather couches, 2 ottoman and 2 recliners. When it was delivered the order was incomplete. 1 ottoman was damaged and was to be reordered. 1 couch had the wrong colored wooden feet that screwed into the couch. We were told they would send different wooden feet and a new ottoman. We waited over a month. The feet did arrive, however, the ottoman never arrived. I called to check on the delivery status. They apologized but the item was now out of stock. It wS out of stock but it was still advertised on the internet through an Ashley distributor for $150 more? All they would offer was a refund on the discontinued item. We had to pay the additional $150 through the distributor and pay additional shipping in order to complete the order. 3 months later the motor goes out on the electric leather recliner. It's only 3 months old! Thank God we purchased the warranty! Ashley orders a new motor. 2 weeks goes by and no word. I call on the status. The part hasn't even stepped nor will it ship until October! I tell them we have a recliner stuck in the recliner position in our living room. We are having a birthday party and need this fixed. They say a technician will come and they will put us on the list as the 1st house for the list on September 24. No on shows in the morning. I call and am told we are number 4 on the list and to call back if we don't have a technician. I call at 3:00 and am now told we have been bumped to number 6 even though they were notified that we have an appointment at 5. By 4 we have now waited all day and still have no word as to when this will be fixed, we have waisted the day waiting for a phantom technician and have a 3 month old recliner stuck in the reclined position with a warranty that to date appears to be worthless because the parts come from Neverland and the technicians are never to be seen. Called again at 5:30. We are now the last stop for the day. I must cancel my commitment because Ashley will not reschedule me for the next day. They tell me they are not able to switch the schedule. Unfortunately, I've had less than stellar service at this location throughout the years. One employee told me I could use my "purple cow" refund in another state to only find out that wasn't true. Employees don't know the policies. They sell you something and don't bother to follow through. I cal back and the "sales manager" told me I can't use it online or have something shipped because they aren't affiliated with other stores outside of Texas. Not only was I never allowed to use the protection I paid for but now I'm not able to utilize my credit either. What a joke. The most unfortunate part is, I was just getting ready to spend over $5,000 on new furniture but backed out really quick for lack of customer service. Do these folks realize that the vast majority of sales are to people like me, who, upon finding a recliner, couch or dining room table, agree to purchase it, ready to take it home in my own vehicle, only to be told that you can't take the one you saw home, nor any other like it. I made a FATAL mistake by not reading online reviews about Ashley Furniture. I don't want you to make the same mistake I did. Never, EVER, buy anything at this store in Abilene. I cancelled an order because it was not what it was represented to be (check out the online complaints and reporting on Ashley's "leather" furniture not being leather at all-- peeling, etc) and, over 5 weeks later, STILL have not received a refund. When calling to see why, they couldn't even tell me what was going on. Their new manager offered zero help. If you even catch someone on the phone it's nothing short of a miracle. You'd be much better off going almost anywhere else. I will never even set foot in this place again. It's, honestly, ridiculous for a national store to not be able to give you an immediate refund after paying CASH. It is 100% shady. They don't deserve ONE star!! We saw what looked to be a good sale at Ashley in Abilene and decided to have a look as we needed bedroom furniture. After spending about an hr with salesman Cory we decided to purchase a set on clearance for about 650 and another 14 piece set on the showroom floor for 1,799. The salesman Cory told us the 14 piece set for 1,799 came with everything we saw before us. Headboard, footboard, frame, mattress, boxspring, dresser with mirror, chest of drawers, nightstands, bedspread with shams, 2 lamps and a throw. Then he left us and came back saying it comes with only one nightstand. Needing 2 we started to back away from the deal. He asked the manager if they will throw in the nightstand. Manager Jeremy said if we purchase the set today he will throw in the extra nightstand. We said deal. We then waited about an hr while they worked on the invoice. During that time Cory said to look around the store and choose a bedspread, 2 lamps and a throw which is also included. I chose a bedspread and lamps saying I will pass on the throw. They call us up to the desk and present us with an invoice for 2727.05. My husband scans over the invoice and notices we are being charged for the 2nd nightstand. He shows it to manager Jeremy and he said don't worry about it they just have to work out some figures to include it in our package. Three days later they deliver everything but the chest, mattress and boxspring. After being given the runaround on phone for days we are told by manager Jeremy that the chest of drawers is not included and that we said we didn't want the mattress and boxspring. We told him we were told EVERYTHING was included except the extra nightstand which HE threw in to make the sale and we NEVER said we didn't want the mattress and boxspring. He told me that we were taken into the mattress showroom and I said I didn't want the mattress and boxspring. I WAS NEVER TAKEN TO A MATTRESS ROOM TO CHOOSE A MATTRESS AND TOLD HIM TO PRODUCE THE VIDEO OF ME DOING THAT. He then tells me the 2nd night stand was given to us in exchange for the mattress and box spring. I told him that is a boldface lie! I never said I didn't want the mattress and box spring and he never said the 2nd nightstand was thrown into the deal in lieu of a mattress and box spring! The manager Jeremy was very condescending and spoke to me as though I was lying. He insisted I was taken to the mattress showroom to which I responded, I didn't even know there WAS a mattress showroom! He very condescendingly asked me if I've shopped at Ashley before. I said no and what does that have to do with anything? He said you've NEVER shopped at an Ashley's before? Because everyone knows we have a mattress showroom. I said this is my first time shopping at Ashley's AND MY LAST!  I tell him again to look for video footage of the salesman Cory taking me into the mattress room because it never happened! I'm then told the only way to solve this is for me to give them back the nightstand and come to the store to pick a mattress and box spring worth up to 300 total! This has been the most disgusting shopping experience in all my 65 yrs and I can tell you I will NEVER shop at this establishment again. I was spoken to by customer service, managerial and corporate as though I was lying and trying to cheat THEM out of something when it was clearly the other way around! I paid them almost 3000 in good faith that they were being honest and up front with me. They were not! This whole experience has sickened me to the point that I'm sick in bed now and the last thing I want to do is go back to that store and choose a mattress and box spring worth up to 300.00! Customer service is non existent, communication between divisions is terrible, and no one can seem to do their job. Went in person to get help as I could not get any over the phone, was told the right couch would be delivered mid July, went back in and was told the right couch would be delivered a month later now. I was so happy to find out that Ashley Furniture has layaway. I didn't know furniture stores did layaway. YAY! Rachel was awesome. She was so helpful to me. She helped me with her knowledge of the display floor and search the floor for the pillows I wanted that was discontinued. I got the last 3. Every time I call I get the run around , I've been given so many different dates as to when it would actually be here, I lost count. I found out this week that my husband has received a transfer to San Antonio (we've been in Abilene) and we have to move this week. I called Ashley customer service to tell them that they would have to deliver to a new address only to find out that my furniture is at the warehouse but no one ever called me. The earliest delivery they had was going to be after we move. I told the customer service guy that we need to change the address. He said they don't have a "route" for San Antonio and he'd have to send it to management to see when they could deliver it. He said he couldn't give me a timeline of when that would be. Mind you, I'm making monthly payments on $8000 worth of furniture that I don't even have most of ( I received partial delivery). I don't expect to get a call back because every time I've been told I'd get a call back, it's never happened. I'm pissed. I want my furniture NOW!! I don't care that they don't have a "route," make one!! That's CUSTOMER SERVICE!! If you make your customers wait for 6 months for their furniture then you better understand that a lot can change in 6 months and you better adapt to it. Either I get my furniture delivered before Christmas or I get a refund!! None of that 25% restocking fee bullshit for something I DON'T EVEN HAVE and NO store credit!! I'm so frustrated with Ashley furniture. I had a fairly good experience a few years ago, but this past purchase was incredibly frustrating. Nobody knew where my order was, and got different answers depending who I talked to! The communication between customer service and delivery sections of this business seems to be non existent. I was told my delivery would be made on a Monday, and I would get a call Saturday about the time. I didn't get any phone call and when I called, I was told it would be weeks until delivery because they didn't even have it in stock (contrary to the previous phone call). Then Monday I get a call that the delivery truck is 45 minutes away! Luckily I didn't work that day and could be there to get it. Wonderful sales folks and the delivery guys were careful with the merchandise and worked so quickly. DO NOT GO HERE! I've been waiting for items and been given the run around so I finally went to the store today and canceled my order, for a fee. I was told almost a month ago that there were plenty in stock. I was told today they don't have anything in stock, major training is needed to correct this. 2 to 6 weeks is a lie. It will be another month to 2 for my table and chairs to come in, items were ordered on the 20th of October. Just don't waste your time here. read more
