It actually says that if you cancel your order at any time, you owe 10%. We had a change of heart 3 days after purchase and called to cancel. It was shocking to be told we were on the hook for 10% for an item that likely hadn't left the warehouse yet. It was then that I was told what the paper I signed actually said. This is my fault for trusting them. Don't trust them. Don't sign anything without amendments. When I posted a similar review on Google, they escalated my complaint. They did nothing but cite policy and remind me that I signed what I signed. It shocks me that you can't cancel an order or return an item without a fee, but I guess that's their policy. Dishonest, unreasonable 10% cancellation fee, bad customer service, still not receive my refund after one month. Wanna know more details, just read below. First, dishonest. I purchased a king bed and mattress from this local store before labor day. When I was back home. I checked the bed price on its online store and the same bed is $150 cheaper. No special deal for this bed. So surprised! They also stated that order can be free cancelled. No, they will charge you 10% cancellation fee. Second, unreasonable 10% cancellation fee. I decided to cancel the order for mattress because the similar mattress from other sellers is about $400 cheaper. Then they told me 10% cancellation fee would be charged. I was very surprised because the mattress was not out for delivery. They thought it can force me to complete the transaction. But they got me wrong. I was very pissed and cancelled the order anyway. Third, still not receive my refund. I called them to check the status of refund every week and I always got the same answer "The refund will be processed in 3-5 business days". I still didnt get my refund after one month. They just lied to me again and again. I considered to file a complaint to Federal Trade Commission. Stay away from this seller. I ordered furniture back in February and due to Covid they said it will be a while (which is fine) but I have had to schedule the delivery for my bedroom set several times now. I have been fighting to get someone on the phone for over 4 hours and no one seems to know how to navigate this or I keep getting disconnected. The delivery team (which is contracted out to a warehouse that they don't seem to have any communication with) 'showed up' today but did not ring my doorbell or knock and just put my delivery back into the queue. Get your shit together and communicate with your parties so everyone knows how to relay information when something happens. Furniture breaking and vehicles breaking down are not the customers problem. Be better and figure out alternatives. You will no longer get my business. read more

Do not shop at Ashley in Ballwin. I bought a very expensive Tempur-Pedic matress. They added a matress pad for $339 that I did not want. When I tried twice to return it, they kept me waiting for an hour and then refused. They never told me in person that I could not return the matress pad, nor was there anything on the receipt about not accepting returns of new, unused goods. The matress pad is new and never out of the package. I simply don't want to pay such an outrageous amount for a mattress pad, and I shouldn't be forced to keep goods I don't want. Don't waste your time or money here. Two years ago I purchased a leather sofa and couch from the Manchester, Missouri location. The salesman let me know that both pieces had a warranty and that if I purchased the extended warranty anything would be covered. That was not the case. The leather has faded, separated, peeled and worn away in multiple places on both pieces. One of the recliners has stopped working among multiple other things. I contacted the warranty company who said the warranty doesn't apply to any of the issues. I contacted Ashley's corporate office who wouldn't honor what they sold me. I went to Ashley Furniture located in Ballwin Missouri to find a dining table. This business is not very welcoming. As I was looking at a table, while 2 salespeople standing with their backs to me. I sat and the table, moved some chairs and looked at the table as I walked around it. None of the salesmen asked me if I wanted help. I had to approach them , they were in arms reach. BUYER BEWARE! the Greenmount Ashley's home store is an independent store and not required to use the same return or refund policy required by Ashley's online purchases! I went into the store and ordered a ottoman for $260.03. I wanted over a month to receive it on February 19, 2021. It was delivered to my home wrapped. The delivery men took a picture of it wrapped. After they left I unwrapped it, put the legs on it and immediately realized it was lopsided. I called the store the same day and told them I wanted a refund. That is when I was told they don't do refunds and I couldn't return it to the store. I called the customer service number only to find out they only handle online purchases. Customer service did forward my complaint to the Greenmount store but the store never replied. I finally went into the store. Talked to a salesman who told me only the store manager, Ken, could help me. He said he was off for two days but he would be sure to have him call me. He didn't call so I called the store again. They very rarely answer their phone so after many calls I left a message for Ken. I told him that since I realize they weren't going to refund my money I would like for him to have this defective ottoman picked up and I would take a store credit. That was over a week ago and I haven't heard a response from Ken or anyone else from Ashley's. If I could have started writing this review without a star I would have. I had a great experience shopping for furniture at The Baldwin location of Ashley furniture but the delivery experience has been a nightmare. I have had better service from buying used furniture from Craigslist in college. I purchased my furniture in August and was given a September 14th delivery date...The date was canceled because they said the item was damaged. The delivery date was rescheduled for September 22... When the item arrived one of the pieces was damaged and they assured me that they could order a part and set up the bed. I wasn't thrilled but I understood.... The part took three weeks to come in.... I was told to call and let the corporate office know that I received the part and they would send someone out to set-up my bed.... I made the call and I waited for someone to reach out...No one called. When I finally followed up I was told that they had called me and I didn't respond... Those calls must have been the only calls that have not come through to my cell phone. I asked the lady from corporate for the number or a way to contact them. She said that she could not but she would confirm November 14th for me...I never heard from a third party to confirm a time window so I followed up. When I called I was told that they cancelled my service order because they could not get in touch with me..... Because I thought I would have bedroom furniture I gave the furniture away in September. The bed set and mattress that I paid close to $1300 dollars for has set on the floor like a piece of junk for two months... The next time I shop at Ashley furniture it will be to get a better idea of what I want to buy from an online furniture store. One would expect better service from a storefront with a solid reputation but I was fooled. Ashley Furniture has really let me down. When reading reviews I thought to myself, "that can't be the case" and "this is good quality furniture, it can't be that bad". Well, I was wrong. It's been bad for a few months now. When we went shopping for furniture in the store the service was good and we found some furniture for our new house! The floor sales people were helpful and actually spent time with us to help us with the purchase. We didn't need to schedule delivery right away since we weren't ready to move into our new house for a few weeks, so they suggested we put the items on layaway. We did. When we went to the customer service desk to pay for our items the girl behind the counter told us that when we were ready to schedule delivery we could call and they would process the order over the phone. We walked away happy with our purchases and happy with the prices we paid since we went shopping over 4th of July weekend! Skip ahead a few weeks and I was ready to schedule delivery. I called the customer service desk and asked to schedule delivery and pay for my order in full. Well, the girl on the phone told me that I needed to go into the store to make the payment. I was caught off guard and I told her that I was told when I made the purchase that I could call and pay over the phone, she then told me that this was not possible. I was upset, but needed to schedule the delivery so I went to the store that day and made the payment. When I arrived, I stood for about 10 minutes at the service desk and not 1 person acknowledged me. There weren't other customers in line so I don't know what the hold up was, but I still stood and waited. When I was finally acknowledged I made the payment and scheduled the delivery. A week before the delivery I was told that a piece of the bed I ordered was back-ordered and would not be able to be delivered with the other items! What? How is that possible? I ordered the items in early July..it is now a month later in August; they should have the part that I paid for! I still asked for the other items delivered and I was told they would call me when the last item was available for us to schedule that delivery. The headboard did get delivered about 2 weeks after the rest of the items and the bed was put together. Delivery day was fine. The guys called a few minutes before they arrived to tell me their arrival time. They arrived and brought the items into the rooms I pointed to. They did complain a little about the stairs and how heavy some of the items were to carry, but I get it. Furniture is heavy and stairs do make it difficult. They set up the furniture, but could not build the bed since the headboard was not delivered. The bedroom set was nice and the quality of the wood is great; I really like the furniture and it looks good in our bedroom. I checked out the drawers and noticed that 1 was not opening and closing like the others, but the guys told me that it just needed to be used a few times and that it would get better. Oh okay, so I took their word for it. Well.....a few weeks later the drawer was still getting stuck and was off balance so I decided to call and ask for them to come repair it. When I called to ask for the repair the customer service rep was kind of helpful. She asked me all sorts of questions about it and documented what I was saying. I sent her pictures of the rails and explained what was happening. She then told me she would contact the service team and get back to me. I think it was about a week later before I received a phone call to let me know they would be sending me a package through fedex with the parts needed for the repair. They told me it would take 2-3 weeks for the parts to arrive and then when they arrive I need to call to let them know I have them so that I can schedule the service tech to come out. I waited 2 weeks. Then I waited 3 weeks. Finally on week 3 and 2 days I decided to call. They tracked the parts and told me the would arrive on the following Tuesday. So yes, they arrived 2 days later. I called to let them know I received the parts. They said a service tech would call me the next day to schedule. I waited a day. Then I waited 2 days. On day 3 I called and they gave me the direct number to the service repair company. Why they didn't give me that number the first time makes no sense! So I called the service tech company and they told me they scheduled me for Nov. 7. Excuse me? I never received a call. They just assumed I was going to be available? Wow. Anyway, I worked with the agent to schedule a day and time for the service tech to come out. Hopefully they come and repair this drawer when we are scheduled. This has been close to 3 months now and I am getting impatient.The service has been sub-par and I will not recommend this to anyone looking for furniture. Sales people in store are great and will tell you all the right things. The service and delivery centers are where they are lacking in customer service. Do better. read more

Looks like I'm in the same boat as many here. Ordered furniture eight weeks ago for company coming this month. Was told it could be 4-6 weeks with COVID. Still not here 8 weeks later even though we were given many dates along the way. That all got cancelled. Today they said it could be middle of August. I think all of the recent negative reviews from the latter half of 2018 onward are a sign I should just stay away. Of the 12 reviews I read since July 2018, all 12 reviews score a rating of "2" or less. Wow. It does not help when Ashley Furniture responds with the same exact form message from "Karey F." as their default response to all the complaints piling up on YELP. And they even have an e-mail address dedicated to de-escalation issues. That probably is another sign they get a lot of escalated complaints and issues. Anyway, I went in and spoke to a salesperson about purchasing the Tyler Creek Dining Room Set and that I would call in with questions as I wanted to think about. Called in twice now and good luck with that I guess? ... because the salesperson hasn't even bothered to call back. Out of all the furniture stores I perused while shopping for living room furniture, Ashely was at the top. I loved that they had a huge collection of different styles, as I have a very particular (picky?) taste. Both times when I was in here, I had someone help me, and they were super helpful trying to figure out not the look I was going for, but without being pushy and salesperson-y. As for their many styles, they had more modern furniture, some traditional, some country, some "way too modern" - really, something for everyone. I bought almost $11,000.00 in living room and bedroom furniture. The living room furniture was fine. My girlfriend and I found multiple nicks on the bedroom furniture. We told the delivery people we knew it was not them we saw how careful they were handling the furniture. I got really sick the following day. I called a week later someone took my information, then I got a text asking for pictures which I did and never heard from anyone. I had a great experience at this Ashley HomeStore over the weekend. I first popped in there on Friday night to ask some questions and take a quick look around. The sales associate, Michelle, was really friendly and personable. She made me want to return to look further. So, I took my accomplice with me on Sunday and we spent way too many hours there! Michelle toured us around both floors and answered all of our questions. She wasn't pushy or too sales-driven, but she genuinely took interest in us and our needs. Three things stuck out about Ashley that just made it seem right. Most of their furniture is manufactured here in the U.S.A., they have pledged to remove all chemical flame retardants from their new furniture, and their financing options are plenty. Terrible customer service so far about 15 calls to them to get my table repair that was bought in late 2019. Outdoor table has started to peel. I've been asked to send in no less than 10 emails with pictures. Then told to call back either an hour or the next day (pretty sure they are just trying to get me off the phone). I've gotten and received more emails to and from Ashley. It's the same email that they send all the time (what is damaged, order number, phone number). I had a great experience inside the store. I bought a couch on Black Friday and was told it would be delivered to my residence on December 9th. Today is December 9th and I called the 1-866-787-7930 number because their store number doesn't work, but they couldn't find my order. Their number says nobody is available and that I could leave a message, sadly their message box is fully so I called another store and they said they would email them. I called the 866 number again after I discovered they put the wrong phone number on my order, once she located it she informed me it wasn't even at a distribution center and wouldn't be delivered until at least the 20th. Not only was I not informed of a changed delivery date. But the online tracking system also doesn't work. I will never buy anything from this brand again. Do not waste your time with this store or even this company. Their products are absolute garbage and their warranty is a joke! Customer service has no idea what day it is and management is clueless. I purchased a set of dining room chairs and a bench along with the wee or warrant just before Covid hit. Within two months of the purchase, the legs on one of the chars broke. I called customer service to arrange for the products to be shipped to me and repaired. The products arrived a few weeks after the call was made. At this point I was instructed to arrange a service appointment for the chair to be repaired. After making multiple appointments and the service company not showing up each time, I finally decided to speak with management at the store again. They said that they were unable to help because they contract the customer service out to a different company. So I once again try to make one more appointment and once again, they were a no-show and no call. As you can imagine, at this point I'm extremely frustrated. I called once more to arrange what was now the fourth appointment to have my brand new furniture repaired. At this time I was told that because of Covid all in-home repair appointments would be put on hold until further notice. So now I'm stuck with brand new furniture, a service warranty that I paid for and nobody to fix it. Five months later, the leg on the bench broke. Just to be clear, my wife and I live by her self and have no children. So of the five chairs and the one bench that were in our dining room, they were very seldom used. The second time the bench was used was when it cracked. And the person who sat in the bench was only about 145 lbs. so once again I call customer service but I'm told the same thing as before, they're not making any service calls at this point. Fast forward a few months later I called back into corporate as well as customer service. Now they're telling me they have no record of a service warranty being purchased nor do they have any record of any replacement parts ever being sent to my residence. Now this is all 100% false because I have the replacement parts in the unopened box from Ashley Furniture that was sent from their location in La Crosse Wisconsin. I made a trip to the store today to speak with management assuming they would do something to make this right. But once again, the very poorly managed store shrugged her shoulders, so they have no record of anything being purchased nor have any record of any replacement parts being sent to me and told me that Because it had been so long, there's nothing that they could do about it. Even though it was their fault that it had been pushed off, they made no attempt to get in touch with me after several attempts made by myself, several appointments made on my end and none follow through on their end. Never again will I do business with an Ashley furniture store and I strongly urge you not to waste your time. There are plenty of other furniture stores to choose from in St. Louis. Do not make the same mistake that I didn't waste your precious time and money with Ashley Home Store / Ashley Furniture. Customer service is the bedrock is a successful business. When we asked for price match, they said it does not apply to them after delivery, they will only match local stores. But corporate says that they match with online stores as well as you have 30 days after purchase. If you go instore make sure you note the product name and google it online. We were immediately greeted by Joe who seemed very helpful and eager. We were looking for a sectional and a king bed frame for a house we had just purchased. We told him the measurements of the sectional the previous owner had in the house and showed him pictures of the room. We found one we loved and Joe assured us it would fit "great". Yes, we were idiots for not measuring and double/triple checking but we thought he must know what he was talking about. Fast forward to the delivery portion of our experience. We were sent at least seven texts in the week prior to the delivery date ALL saying the delivery window would be 1:15-4:15 pm and we confirmed that window with each text. The day before the delivery we got another text with the same window but when we went to confirm the time the confirmation link said 7:15-10:15 am instead. We were not in the house yet and that time was not going to work for us. When we called to ask for the original time that had been confirmed multiple times we were told the new window was computer generated and there was no way to change it except by rescheduling for another day. Since everything else for the move in had been worked around this delivery we made it work. My husband was there for the delivery and when he saw how HUGE the sectional was and that it wasn't going to fit in the room he wasn't sure what to do and accepted the delivery because he wanted me to see it and discuss what we should do. Even the delivery team said people were often surprised by how big the furniture is when it gets in their home. We decided we were going to return it for credit and find something that would fit but were told that once the item was in our home there were no returns or exchanges. PERIOD. NO EXCEPTIONS. So now we have a room that is completely filled with a giant sectional and barely room to walk around it. Joe knew it wasn't going to work for us but let us buy it anyway. Shameful. What a terrible experience. Delivered bed frame and night stand. One drawer was broken. Was told the parts would be shipped to me in two weeks or less and I could then call for the repair when the parts arrived. That was three weeks ago. After calling their customer service number (where the CS agents phones were breaking up when they talked with music playing in the background four different times) I finally was told they would receive the parts in mid December 2021. The bed was delivered on August 21 2021. I realize there are long lead times in the furniture industry but it is a drawer. Airfreight it if you have to. We purchased a dining room set and a large sectional from Ashley HomeStore. We were unable to immediately set up the furniture because our home wasn't completed. When we set it up a couple of weeks later, we noticed flaws in the top of the table that were obviously done during the construction of the table by the manufacturer. Because we didn't report it withing 48 hours, they wouldn't approve an exchange. And, they then wouldn't allow us to use our 1 year manufacturers warranty because they declared it "Customer Cause". This was all done without coming to look at the table. Since then, the ottoman that we purchased squeaks when you sit on it and all the seat cushion zipper pulls are falling off. We washed one cover and an entire seam fell apart. Do NOT purchase from here! I know some people have been fine but they do not stand by their products. Each entity told me I had to wait 30 days before they could do anything. We did. What happened on day 30? We went to the store and they told us we can get a mattress of equal or greater value. Warning: There is a ten percent cancellation fee if you try to change or cancel an order you place with Ashley Furniture. This is not listed on their website anywhere! Apparently the cancellation fee only applies to in-store orders...I would have been better off ordering online. Order was placed on Saturday with a scheduled delivery of Thursday. I ended up returning to Ashley for a sofa and loveseat. They had the style, color, and price that I wanted, and honestly, 3 weeks of walking into an empty living room while I shopped around for furniture was becoming too much for me to bear. Again, service was iffy until I made it clear that I was here to buy something and wasn't wasting the sales rep's time. Do a lot of teenagers come here and jump on couches or something? Not a fan of what seems like blatant age discrimination on Ashley Furniture's part. Whatever. Again, delivery was efficient and professional. As much as I hate to say this, I'll most likely be back to Ashley for some other miscellaneous items (rugs, coffee tables, etc.) in the future. I expect to be ignored...again. read more

After having only two at the island we decided that was the right number. I took the third broken chair back to Carlos who told me, sorry we don't accept any returns. You can take it back to the warehouse for repair but you can't get your money back. I give them zero stars for customer service and customer flexibility. I will never go to the store again and none of my friends will either. The funny thing is, if I had ordered the stools online, they were cheaper and I could return them no problem, no tax, and no shipping.
