That's when I came across Express Furniture in Akron , Ohio. Express Furniture was listing it at $100 cheaper than the next guy, so I called the number, and Mike answered the phone. Come to find out that Mike is the stores owner, and we spent at least 15 minutes, maybe more, talking. Come to find out that he has family in Southern California where I reside. Never less, I purchased the credenza thru Express Furniture, and Mike guaranteed me that it would be properly protected for shipment, which was reassuring after reading about other reviews on the woes of shipping furniture. Mike even sent me the assembly instructions in advance, so I knew what needed to get me prepared. I am a small business owner, such as Mike at Express Furniture is. Most of the products they sell are made in the USA. The service here is simply spectacular. If I went looking for something to complain about I don't think I could find anything. Many other retailers, including big box stores and Amazon carry a select few of the same products, but provide a fraction of the service for a higher price. Without a doubt, Silver Eagle was the best discovery of the day. Definitely better than the Oktoberfest itself, but that's another story. Like so many antique shops; it's packed from floor to ceiling, musty-smelling, and filled with little nooks and crannies that house the most interesting things. There are several rooms, and we easily got lost for a couple of hours looking at all the cool, old treasures. They have a huge collection of local memorabilia from Akron and the surrounding areas. There are also lots of old postcards, appliance ads from the 30s - 60s (hello, Mad Men!), and LIFE magazines which were really fun to read! My favourite discovery was all of the old photographs -- they were really, really lovely. The owner seemed a little crochety, but he kept to himself. I found so many cool things in here that I wanted, but didn't have any cash on me -- I'm definitely going to have to come back.

There's a pretty solid vintage appliance collection, baseball memorabilia, civil war relics, native american arrowheads, art, costume jewelry, old photographs, barn tools, antique metal toys, and even furniture (good luck getting it out).
