We purchased a couch and tv stand at the beginning of June. Tv stand and couch we're supposed to be delivered the following Saturday. Tv stand was delivered, no couch though. Ashley texted us and said pick a date for delivery of our couch. We picked our date. They no showed and didn't bother to call. Then via text we were given another delivery date. They then texted us and pushed our delivery date out another 2 weeks. We once again received a text saying 3-5 weeks. We have called and called. We have been placed on hold. Then we get disconnected. I was on hold for a total of 4 hours. Never reached anyone and no resolution to our issue. Poor business model and they don't care. read more

So I ordered furniture end of January and was given a date in March that it would be ready(due to covid), didn't get an email it was ready until the April. Got it home cause we chose to pick it up rather than delivery, get it home and the chair we get it out of the box and it has a Crack down the middle of the wooden leg, called immediately, played absolute hell to get a competent human, only to get told to submit pictures and corporate would get back to us...well after 3 days, they agreed to give us a new chair but (wait for it.......) "its a special piece we make individually and it will be until the beginning of May before we would have a new one ready" OMG...well I called and asked if they would keep the chair and refund my money...nope....finally got an email today and says it will be ready June 1st...I'M OVER IT..I will NEVER do BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN...had I known How terrible and cheaply made their Company is as a WHOLE, it would have been an EASY pass for ME! ‍‍..... read more

We stopped into Ashley Furniture to see what was available for bar stools. We were greeted by a salesperson soon after walking in. He asked us what we were looking for and I told him. His response was "ok". He then walked off. We walked around the store and found they only had two examples of bar stools. I was very disappointed with this store. The salesperson could have told us they didn't have many bar stools on display and he could have went a step further to show where they were located. The sad thing is we will be buying new living room furniture in the very near future. These guys won't be getting our business. read more

I guess just like anything else in this world.... You Get What You Pay For... I for one am a fan. This isn't a top tear furniture manufacturer and I'm quite sure that they don't pretend to be. It is an awesome balance of quality and price. What in my opinion is exactly what the largest part of the population is looking for. They do a good job at bringing in new product to keep up with trends but keep their roots in a more middle of the road style.... Again what the majority of the market is... I will say that I haven't been to a store since the Phillips Family (long time owners of the St. Louis area stores) sold the company. I can only hope that the new owners are utilizing the strong business model that they used successfully for years. read more

I initially came in to this location to get an idea for furniture for a new apartment. I had a very difficult time getting anyone to help me dressed in shorts and a t-shirt, and finally walked directly in front of an associate and asked for assistance. Once I asked for help she was excellent in presenting me with options and promotions available to me. I finally settled on a mattress that seemed to be an excellent price. While I wanted to buy that day, I had arranged payment with my bank and had to come back with the correct card. When I returned to the location in my business apparel after work, the associates immediately wanted to help me. I was able to get an even better deal than before on the return trip, which warranted the four star rating. The only downside to this location is it seems assistance only happens when the associates feel you can make them a commission. I purchased my remaining furniture elsewhere. read more

I bought a bed, mattress & a couch. When I purchased the furniture I told him I need them to be delivered ASAP I was sleeping and sitting on the floor with a 5 yr. old. I was told delivery would be the 27th of Sept. They switched that till a week later and I still did not get the whole bed. Then I was told I would have the rest with in 1 week, they called back again and tried to push that back another 4-5 days more. I am over Ashley Furniture and there excuses ... It has been a nightmare. I ask them to just come get what was dropped off of the bed and now I can't get them to respond to even do that. This is has been the worst experience I've ever experienced dealing with this store! Lying and deceitful sales people. Was buying a new mattress because our old one is worn out and painful to sleep on. Went to Ashley because we purchased our last mattress there. Upon entering, we were approached by James and told him we were looking for new mattress. James took us to Jeffrey (mattress specialist), and asked us if we'd ever bought anything there. We told him we purchased our last mattress there but weren't sure of the date. He supposedly couldn't find any information on us so Jeffrey said he'd look while we shopped. These 2 crooks then had a little conference when Jeffrey couldn't find any info on our earlier mattress purchase. They told us it must have been purchased over 10 years ago because their records only go back that far. So we bought a new mattress but later found our sales receipt showing we purchased our worn out mattress and base just 5 years earlier (2/16). Since we had 5 years left on the warranty, I set up appointment to have someone come to our house to look at it. After waiting four weeks for the person to show up, he called the morning of appointment saying he didn't have a tool to measure the sagging mattress. So I set up another appointment for 7/7 and confirmed it in a text. They texted on 7/3 saying they'd be there on 7/6. I'd already planned our vacation to start on our agreed upon date, and told them we'd have to set another appointment 2 weeks later. They called back and set up appointment on 7/28. Person came and used a ruler as straight edge and took several pictures. So that's what a mattress tool is, I thought. Didn't hear anything for 10 days so I called and Ashley told me my case had been closed because I wouldn't set up appointment for inspection. This was after they'd called and set the appointment date. It's this kind of lying and runaround you'll get if you need warranty work done. So now I'm waiting on Ashley to reopen my case. I wish I'd searched reviews on Yelp and BBB before I purchased the second mattress from Ashley. They're customer service is the worst when you call. I strongly advise anyone to go elsewhere when you need new furniture. The first mattress I bought was probably a Sealy rejection that Ashley sells as brand new. Been to the Edwardsville store several times, only to be told there's no management available but they will call me the next day. Not once has a manager returned the call as well as customer service at the 800 number. I dare the store owner to call to discuss this matter. So run away from this company and do business elsewhere! read more

The absolute worse customer service I have ever experienced. After being a loyal Ashley customer for 20 plus years, I will NEVER shop here again. Buyer beware. If you have an issue like we did (movers damaged brand new hardwood floors, furniture delivery was rescheduled numerous times, furniture was broken and scratched up), Ashley will not help you. We called, emailed, went into the store numerous times. The store refers you to corporate customer care who never answers you. We finally had to dispute on our credit card bill and Ashley was so bad that they didn't even respond to the credit card company within the 90 day allotted period. I am 60 years old and have purchased much furniture in my lifetime. This was the first time I purchased from Ashley and it has been the worst experience ever. I purchased in July and was told delivery the end of August or first of September. I received a text message asking me to confirm my delivery date so I confirmed August 31, 2021, I called to get a time and was told someone would call me a couple days before that to give me a window. By evening of August 30th I had no call so I called customer service and was told there is not a delivery scheduled for me and my ottoman is on back order and will not be in until September 7th. Today, the 8th, no word, so I called again and was told my furniture would not be in until September 18th. I said the ottoman was suppose to be in on the 7th, the rep said the sofa sleeper is on back order. What the heck is wrong with this company. I requested to cancel my order and was told to allow 4 business days for the cancellation department to call and confirm cancellation. Hope I don't have to hire an attorney to get my money back. Do yourself a favor, spend a little more if you have to and go somewhere else. read more

This is mostly directed at the warehouse and the many delivery issues I had. I ordered a coffee table in September and was told I should get it in December. That was pushed back to February. Once the table was in, it was my responsibility to schedule delivery, however based on my address, it could only be delivered on a Thursday and no more than two weeks out. The day of my delivery was canceled due to weather (understandable) and was rescheduled for the following week. The next week I took off work for an afternoon delivery when it was canceled again due to weather. This time I was NOT contacted about the cancellation and wasted an entire afternoon waiting on a table that never came (I have a job!). Then I had to wait another week just to schedule another delivery for two weeks after that! When my table finally arrived, it was boxed for ME to assemble. I WAS NOT TOLD AT THE TIME I PURCHASED THE TABLE THERE WERE TWO DELIVERY OPTIONS, on of which required assembly. I will never shop at this store again. I don't care if the manager or the CEO of the company calls about this review. read more

I purchased a 3 piece media center from this store. It was a TV stand with 2 tall side cabinets. When it was delivered, the delivery people dropped and broke the TV stand. I called the store and they said because it was their fault, they would schedule a specific date and time for delivery so I would not have to wait for another four hour window. On the scheduled day, I had not heard from them so I called the store. I was told it would not be delivered that morning at 10:00 AM as promised, but would be delivered some time between 1:00 and 5:00 PM. I explained what had occurred and was referred to a manager. When I spoke with the manager, I told her how upset I was because they not only were going back on their promise, but I had already taken the morning off work and would now have to add the afternoon. Her response was that they had loaded the truck a certain way and couldn't do anything about it. I asked why I had been promised the specific time. She again talked about how the truck was loaded. When I told her that was unacceptable, she became very rude. I also asked about brackets that were supposed to be included with the side towers previously delivered. She very rudely informed me that the TV stand didn't have brackets. I reminded her of my full order, not just the reorder of the piece the delivery team had dropped. She hung up on me and I had to call back and speak to someone else. I had to make a special trip to the store to pick up the brackets. Overall, this was one of the worst furniture buying experiences I have ever had. I would not ever make another purchase at this store. When a delivery commitment is made, it should be honored. Especially when it was their fault the second delivery day was required. I would give this store 0 stars if I could. UPDATE: Management from Ashley saw this review and reached out to me to see if they could make it right. For me, it is too late. However, you may find that the new management will ensure you have a better experience than I had. I give them points for trying. read more

Walked all the way thru the store and then had to ask for help. Nobody greeted us even after we asked for help. Lots of workers walking around talking to each other. When the girl said she could, we gave her what we were looking for, she said go over toward the corner & we could see what they had. She would be with us in a while. 10 minutes later we went back to find her on the phone. Had to ask for someone else to help. After we found what we where looking for we found out that to get our table we would have to go to south St. Louis warehouse to get it, or pay $70 to have it delivered not assembled and $35 to have it assembled. We ordered a kitchen table January 18th. The delivery was scheduled for this past Saturday January 24 between 2-5. They did not show up! We stayed home for the delivery. Called and were told delivery would be Monday. Nope. Then were told delivery would be Tuesday. Nope! My husband has been taking off of work to wait. Finally were told delivery would be today, Wednesday. Got a call this morning that the table was damaged and they would need to reorder it and we would not receive it until Feb. 6th!!! We sold our kitchen table because we expected the table last Saturday! We are going to cancel our order today and get a refund. We will never shop with them again!!! Beware! We ordered bedroom furniture from them in 2007 and went through the same scenario. I should have learned my lesson then. They have serious problems. I will never use them again. *Edit - because of the reply from Ashley furniture, I sent them a message although I seriously doubt there is anything they can do. Somebody called me several hours ago so I called her right back and left a message. She still has not returned my call. My husband went to the store today and asked for a refund. They said it will take between a week and 10 days for us to receive it! Really? They have had our money since January 18th!!! We went to Kettle River furniture today and bought a table they are delivering on Friday. FYI- nobody from Ashley has called me despite their answer to me on Yelp. read more

They don't even deserve one star. Worst customer service team in the history of customer service. In June 2018, I bought a sectional from Ashley Furniture. Within six months it started to tear, eventually looking like the pictures below. At the time I purchased the couch, I also purchased a warranty with GBS and they denied my claim to fix the issue. I contacted GRT (the guest relations team) with Ashley Furniture. They also denied my claim stating that the damage was CUSTOMER CAUSED. As if I took a pair of scissors to the $1400 couch I just paid for, and cut it myself just to complain about something. The woman said, "if it were a manufacture defect all the cushions would be torn." Well, my husband and I don't sit on every cushion. We sit in two spots... the two spots that are torn. Mind you, we aren't even overweight. A couch is made for sitting on. The material used should withstand more than a couple hundred pounds sitting on it! With that being said, I HIGHLY recommend you take your business elsewhere and don't buy the cheaply made furniture at Ashley Furniture and if you do, don't bother paying for a warranty because they don't cover anything. Revised 08.15.19 After writing this review I received a call from Ashley Furniture, and this time they were very understanding of the issues and wanted to make it right. They offered an exchange and a credit as well as a gift card. the woman I spoke with at the corporate office, Linda Wilson, was every bit of nice and empathetic. I enjoyed speaking with her. Some of my initial sentiment still stands...read the fine print, check online, and know the limitations. However, it is comforting and encouraging to know they are willing to and want to turn a bad experience positive. If I could give this negative stars I would. BUYER BEWARE AND READ THE FINE PRINT!!!! We purchased 2 loveseats, 1 sofa, and 3 end tables from Ashley Furniture on July 21, 2019. It was finally delivered today, August 10, 2019. There are 3 things that we are unhappy with regarding the purchase. The primary issue is the furniture does not fit in our living room. When we made the purchase we measured our living room several times, and had a print out of the digital measurements of the room. We measured the furniture several times in the store at Ashley Furniture, and knew the fit for the set up we wanted would be tight, but based on the measurements given from the store it would work nicely. One of the things we established with the sales person was that we were concerned about needing to pull the furniture out too far from the wall in order to make the fit work since it all reclines. We were evaluating another set up at a different store that hugged the wall. We were assured that we'd only need a couple of inches of space which is what we allocated. The furniture was set up in an open space so it was hard to fully judge. When it was delivered the furniture requires at least a full 6 inches of space in order to fully recline. This means that it will not fully fit and is unsafe for our 1 year old daughter who I just watched crawl completely behind the furniture like a tunnel. Now we have to move it close to the wall and will not be able to use the reclining functions. The 2nd issue we have is the way they advertised to us and the hard and dishonest sales tactics. We went in several times that week, but were told to wait until our purchase date because they were having a 30% off one day sale which was "THE BEST SALE THEY'D EVER HAD." We believed them and made the purchase. However, when we got home something felt off. I looked online, and the online version of the store the total cost was significantly lower. At other stores, we would have saved appx. $650 on the purchase and delivery. This means that the sale they were advertising in stores was a direct lie. DON'T BUY IN THE STORE AND CHECK COMPETITORS FOR THE SAME PRODUCTS!!! The last issue is that when we approached them with these complaints we were told that they "order the furniture specifically for us" and therefore it was nonrefundable. We did not order custom furniture and therefore it's not "specific" to us. Immediately after ordering we would have had to pay a 10% restocking fee, and once delivered, it was completely non returnable. Even airlines, whose policies are horrible, will refund your money within 24 hours. NOT ASHLEY! The details of the contract were explained to us as we ordered, and we initialed. These details were never mentioned as we initialed the contract. Had I known about either policy I never would have purchased from this store. I will never spend another penny with these people. Not in store. Not online. Worst customer service once they get your money, hard sales tactics, and ridiculous policies. read more

Went to Ashley to get a sectional I could separate on both sides of the room. Once I got the couch I noticed many problems! First the couch springs on part of the couch expanded and caused the cushions to bow. Then one piece is taller than the other. Forget about trying to sit on the couch because it will slide apart and you will be falling in the cracks. Also when I tried to put separate pieces on the other side of true room, which I told the salesman this was my intention, he did not mention that the couch is not designed to be separated. This is why I bought the couch. Worst part is customer service by Ashley!! I called to return the center 2 pieces, since I managed to make the other pieces work and they told me they don't take returns!!!! Very unhappy with customer service and will NEVER buy from Ashley again!!!! read more

I hate to do this to the Ashley store in Edwardsville because we had a good experience with Kristy there but it's the service after the sale that is BAD. We purchased a leather sofa and recliner as well as an accent chair back in late October. We bought a 5 yr extended warranty on the furniture at the time of purchase and were told that if we didn't use it within the 5 years we would get store credit for the amount that we spent on the warranty. Within 2 weeks some spots appeared on one of the cushions of the sofa due to NO fault of ours. It looks like something on the leather has rubbed off. I contacted the Ashley Guest Response Team and was told to email pictures of the sofa to them. I did that and then didn't hear anything back for several days. I called again and was told that they never received the email and the ticket had been closed. The rep I spoke with the 2nd time had me verify the email address I had and it was not even correct. She gave me the correct one, which I read back to her just to make sure, and I sent another email. I waited almost another week with no phone call or email back. At that point, I contacted the Edwardsville store and spoke with a very helpful young lady and she told me that she would submit a ticket for me. The next day, I received a call from a manager or supervisor with the Guest Response Team and she told me that they had never received my information. She had me send an email to her company address. Within a few hours, I received a call from them and was told that it was not a manufacturer's warranty item and that I would have to submit it using my extended warranty. How convenient is it that I now have to use my purchased warranty to fix an obvious manufacturer issue after just 2 weeks of use? There goes my store credit if I don't use the warranty! That sounds very convenient on their part. Anyway, I will NEVER purchase another item from Ashley Homestore because of the service after the sale that is both shady and dishonest! read more

My husband bought a bookshelf for Christmas to go with my office set from Ashley Furniture in Edwardsville. When we went to set it up, we realized that there was no pegs for the shelves to actually sit on. My husband contacted the store the next day and several more days and over a month later we still don't have pegs. I personally called the store today and asked for a manager and got the Front Desk manager Cierra. She again gave me the runaround about them having been ordered and not shipped. IT'S BEEN OVER A MONTH. When I said I will just bring the bookshelf back if I don't get the pieces by the end of the week she gave me the spill about once the product is in your home, there is no refunds. I CAN'T USE THE BOOKSHELF. Spare yourself the trouble, frustration and stress and avoid Ashley Furniture completely! read more

The purchasing process was fine, but took forever as I was trying to entertain twin 3 year olds. Delivery was scheduled fairly timely, but the followup has been hell. We purchased a table, 4 chairs and a bench. Upon delivery I noticed that the leg of the bench was gouged and scraped. The delivery person attempted to fix with a marker, but I could still see the issue. I also found two chairs with issues. The delivery people were going to return the damaged items, but couldn't give a timeframe on when I would receive the replacement items. A new table with only 3 chairs for my family of 4 was not going to work, so I had them leave the damaged pieces and called customer service. Thus the nightmare began. I phoned customer service that Wednesday afternoon, they needed pictures of the damage. The pictures were sent at 8:09 Thursday morning. I phoned back to get an update at 3pm Thursday, claimed they couldn't find the email, so I resent. I phoned back Friday, spoke with a different agent, they had the pictures and were reviewing and they would call me back. Monday comes, still no call. Tuesday, still no call so I phone back, cant find the email again and I request to speak with a supervisor. Supervisor confirms they have the email and will call me back the next morning (Wednesday) to set up a time to deliver the replacements. Wednesday after I still haven't received a call, so I call back and was told the supervisor would call me before 5:15 that evening to a make arrangements. It's now 3 pm on Thursday and I guess I have to waste more time calling them back AGAIN. read more

We recently bought three pieces of Ashley's (top of the line) leather den sets with a couch, love seat, and recliner. We paid over $4,000 (on sale). After only a few weeks, the furniture is proving unstable and unreliable. Arms are wiggling and the mechanized head rest is only working on one side. After being told to call corporate to set up repairs, I explained the problems and Ashley sent parts. I then called to set up repairs and have gotten three different stories on if/when I would receive a call from the third party repair team. Still no call... I am losing faith in Ashley's ability to stand by their promise of customer satisfaction. I suggest they change the name of their corporate "Customer Response Team" to "Customer Conversations". All I'm getting is a lot of talk. Oh, and "Customer Response" suggested I CALL the third party and advocate for myself... Wow. I have called the local store in hopes of leveraging some action from corporate. read more

I order a kitchen table, two bar stools, and 6 chairs at the beginning of March. Due to 4 chairs being on back order I had to wait for my delivery to be delivered towards the end of May. The day before my delivery I was called and told that I would have to wait til the end of July. At the time I told them I had already been without a kitchen table for two months and if this was the case I wanted to cancel my order and I would go else where. So they pushed my order through and was promised my full order. When they came with my furniture I only received the two bar stools and the table but only received two chairs which were the wrong size (to short to even sit at the table and eat dinner). Was told they would exchange the chairs out for me but I had to wait another month or so. What????? This was Ashley Furnitures screw up but I have to wait cause there to busy to deliver. Got another delivery date set for today's date (and took off work to do so) and was suppose to receive and exchange for 2 chairs and the 4 missing ones I never received. Well guess what I only received the exchange. I have a family of 5 and since the beginning of March we have not been able to sit down as a family to have a meal together. Of course no one knows what is going on. The lady I have spoke with several times has been very sweet and I understand that it is out of her control, but who does actually have control to fix this situation. The managers at this store are more than aware of this issue and for some reason still is not getting fixed. I am not one to post bad reviews about a business but this is down right ridiculous and I have more than once given them the opportunity to fix their mistakes. I cannot begin to say what a huge nightmare this has been. We bought $3000.00 worth of bedroom furniture and it is complete crap. Strung out over delivery, 1st dresser was damaged and they wanted to "repair" it. I insisted on a new dresser. Got the new dresser and the draw wasn't done properly. The nightstand drawer won't open and most of the drawers have rough edges where you can cut yourself. I called the "wonderful" warranty that I was strong armed to pay for it was listed as a delivery charge, that's when I was told it was the warranty. Called the warranty company to come and fix my issues, the drawer is fixed, Calvin at Saw (warranty) told me to address the other issues with the tech when they come and he will asses and determine if new parts are needed. I won't say the guy was rude but abrupt. He clearly was not into fixing my other issues. He told me Saw promises the world and doesn't deliver. I was trying to tell him what was wrong as he was walking out the door! He did help me with one issue and briefly looked at the other and said I'll have to make another appointment. This whole experience has been unacceptable. Read reviews, both companies have bad ones. I will have something done before this is over to my satisfaction or there will be a law suit. read more

I bought furniture and paid for it through Acceptance Now, there in store "credit" company. It took me two payments to pay it off. It has been stored in there warehouse, waiting for me to move out. I won't be moving as soon as expected, and attempted tonight to inquire about returns. I was immediately greeted over the phone by a girl who absolutely did NoT want to help, Elena. She confronted me with telling me off the bat they would be charging me a 10% good faith re stocking fee, and didn't know how a refund would work since I paid through acceptance now. She said she would locate my paperwork and talk to the Acceptance Now person and call me back. 55 minutes later and I call back. So not only do they employ incompetent individuals who don't want to work, but I'm passed off...still looking for answers about furniture they have, and I no longer want, but have already paid for. I am doing some remodel work with my wife and she wanted to replace our living room sectional and add a couple chairs, so she found some pieces that were very acceptable at the E'ville store. We have purchased other pieces from other Ashley outlets and have found them to fit the particular requirements she had. Since most of the pieces for sale are, I assume, produced off-shore at a price point, they will never be considered "high-end" but are adequate enough for the price. Our salesperson was very accomplished at his job and managed to secure very favorable pricing on a very nice sectional and two armchairs. My wife was very pleased with her selections, thus my life was also made happy! read more

my husband and I went into ashley furniture looking for a sofa and memory foam matress set....the first man we spoke with was very nice and helpful and even told us how their store price matched the whole experience was fine til he handed us over to his associate. we told her what we were wanting to spend and she showed us furniture that was three to four times out of our price range and then we asked her to just show us some mattresses and she flat said into her earpiece...where are the cheap Ashley memory foam mattresses at? and by that time we were both so upset and irate we just left!!!! my husband and I both felt like we were treated as if we were a waste of her time because we weren't waving hundred dollar bills in her face....very poor customer service!!!!! read more

Throwing your money directly in the trash would be a better investment than spending it here. Horrible service starting with the in-store manager all the way up to regional manager. Plenty of furniture stores in the area, save yourself the headache and chose a different one. read more
