My review is based entirely on the shopping experience and not on selection or quality. I went shopping at 2 different Ashley furniture stores and apparently it is their store policy (as told to me in the 2nd store) for the sales person to follow, shadow, lurk behind, stalk shoppers as they move through the store. Even after telling them that we will find them and let them know if we had any questions. This makes for a very uncomfortable shopping experience and I couldn't get out of their stores fast enough! This place deserves negative stars. By far THE worst place to do business with. The sales people do absolutely nothing to help and only want their commission from you. Their furniture is overpriced and the quality is absolutely terrible. Also, they never answer their phones (both in the store and on their customer service line). If by some miracle you do get in touch with someone, they'll transfer you and put you on hold 10 times before actually talking to you and even then they still won't end up helping you. Oh, and many of the times I've called, they're too busy (probably because all of their customers are busy complaining to them) and will tell you that they'll call you back. Of course, they never do call back. This place is a total joke. How on earth this place is in business, is completely beyond me. read more

Update! Tech just left without fixing the sofa because the furniture company did not order the correct supplies and did not schedule enough time for the repairs ( they should've scheduled 3-4 hours because they have to take the sofa apart to fix it) luckily the repair guy ordered the supplies and will be back in two weeks. This is so much easier and way more convienant than giving us a replacement sofa .shame on this place. They are the worst. read more

The worst of the worst. I ordered a furniture set from Ashley's two months ago, everytime they tried to deliver it they said the set doesn't fit through the stair way which is completely unacceptable as the previous owner of my unit and the other 40 units in my complex have bigger furniture that was delivered to them through the same stair way. The third time they delivered it through my front window finally, but there two chairs in my dining set were cracked and useless. The coffee table and end table they delivered was also completely different from what I saw and ordered from the show room display. Now they delivered the same WRONG coffee table twice, I found the same sets on Amazon which has these sets labeled correctly but Ashley failed to do so for their own product. Now for the third time I go to the store and reselect a different coffee table because it's impossible for them to deliver what I exactly ordered. They still haven't sent a technician to fix my two defective chairs. read more

Totally agree with the previous reviewers. Sales associate was very pushy.. We ordered a living room set, which was scheduled to be delivered in 2 weeks. Two days before the delivery date, got a call that my items went back order and was going to be delayed by 3 more weeks. Made many attempts to contact the customer service and the store and was given the run around. Finally I had to go to the store in person and then was told that the delivery was pushed back by 1 more week. I'd had enough and asked to cancel my order. The sales manager who processed my cancellation was surly & indifferent... Will never go there again... Customer service sucks and they are unapologetic about it... read more

I paid $2200 on a 7 pc bedroom set. The delivery date was set for the 10:30am-2:30pm time window. First, the delivery did not arrive until 2:45pm. Then, I find out that I'm only getting 6 out of 7 pieces. The dresser was on back order. At the time of ordering this set, no one informed me that it wasn't a guarantee that I would be getting my complete set. Also, no one from Ashley bothered to call me to say that I wouldn't be receiving my complete set at the time of delivery. In addition, those 6 pieces that were on the truck for delivery were damaged. It appeared to me that the truck loaders were very careless and clumsy when they loaded the furniture. There was signs of scuff marks, scratching, and peeling on them. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from Ashley ever again. When I pay$2200 for something, I expect nothing less than quality merchandise and good customer service. read more

My sister and I visited the Ashley Homestore this past Saturday looking for a new sofa. Sales Associate Andres Santacruz assisted us. We were very impressed with Andres' soft-sell and helpful manner. We left without making a purchase and made another few stops just to assure ourselves what we had seen at Ashley was what we really wanted. Turns out is was! And we returned today to make our purchase(s)! Andres was there to help us again. He closed our sale in the most efficient, helpful and courteous manner. Believe all of the 1 star reviews. I did not, and am very sorry that I didn't. On 11/20/16 my husband and I went to the store in Northridge and purchased a sectional sofa and matching ottoman. We paid in full at that time. I am appalled by the Northridge store, their corporate phone center and customer service. They did not call me to confirm delivery. I called the store 11 times trying to reach them to confirm delivery. Most of the time they did not answer. They did answer 1 time stating that I had to call customer service. I called customer service who informed me that the store confirms delivery. I called the store again and they confirmed delivery for today 11/27/16 but would not give me a time frame and told me I had to contact customer service. I contacted customer service and was on hold for 27 minutes (I have now contacted them multiple times and have been on hold for an average of 25 minutes per call). Customer service told me the store would confirm delivery. After multiple calls to both the store and customer service, on 10/26/16 I was informed my window was 8 am - 12 noon for 11/27/16. By noon today, my furniture had not arrived. At noon today (11/27/16) I called customer service and after a 28 minute wait time I was told that my furniture was backordered and not available for delivery. They refused to refund me and told me I had to go into the store to obtain a refund. I called the store. After 8 failed attempts they finally picked up their phone. I demanded a full refund onto my credit card. After a 15 minute hold, they finally agreed. This was an awful experience. You get what you pay for. Yes, their prices are good. But you may never get your furniture. read more

Wasted an hour there while salesman refused to admit his mistake (price doubled from what he quoted on phone). We went back and different salesperson insisted she was going to give us a great deal. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! They work together with a credit card company and give you a great deal of a promo of no payment for 2 or 3 years. Then obviously 2 to 3 years later you won't remember what the agreement was and then BAM, you get hit HARD! The log in to their bank site always failed me, so I wouldn't know how much I owed. When the promo is done, you are then charged almost 30% interest which equates to thousands of dollars in a quick short months just on a small balance. Will never shop here again. What a scam. She understood our time needs and was able to help us mix and match chairs and tables from different collections to get the look we wanted. The sales process was quick and fair. DO NOT BUY A MATTRESS FROM ASHLEY. Simply-once purchased it is yours to keep. Almost all other stores will give you at least 30 days -100 days to try a mattress. I looked up Tempur-Pedic online and they had a 90 day trial and a great reputation. I assumed this was a policy for their brand (Sit and Sleep and other stores had a similar policy). Alas, I should have investigated more. Ashley does not have such a policy. So, unless you are sure about your mattress, shop elsewhere. I have a $2000 mattress which is too firm. Also, the Furniture Pro coverage is not as it sounds from the salesperson. Desk glass broke on our new desk. Filed a claim. I bought several thousands of dollars worth of furnishings. So, they offered the desk ($299) for free if we purchase the protection ($99). After glass broke, we filed a claim. It was denied because even though it is listed as a covered item the purchase price is $0. Receipt says $299 as original price, but purchase price is $0. So, they will not pay on the covered item because of the amount we paid. read more

Very unhappy, to start off the person "helping" us had no idea what she was doing and made it extremely stressful just to buy a simple bed and bed set for my child... finally we finished the whole process and placed our delivery date based on when we were moving. Then at 9pm a day before or delivery date we get a call saying our bed set is on back order and it cant be delivered until a week later! This is ridiculous because they charge you a fee to have ur things delivered only to tell you less then 24 hours that ur delivery day will have to be postponed, yet their policy states as a customer to change the delivery date a 48 hr notice must be given in advance or another fee will be charged. Huge inconvenience. I'm canceling my order and credit I have with this store. read more

My experience with Ashley was first in Texas. Bought a dresser at Big Lots and I really liked it, so I decided to go to the store. Ended up buying a dining room set...no issues, no problem...Baybrook store in Texas. So, when it came to a massive remodel here in California, I decided Ashley was inexpensive enough, but still decent. Product aside, what a nightmare. When I purchased the furniture in March, I knew delivery could not be until mid May when my renovation would be complete. We set a date of May 14 with the understanding that it could change with a simple call to the salesperson. First week of May I called my salesperson and asked her to assign May 13 as delivery day and I would have someone there to receive it. She said gladly, and there was no problem. A few days before delivery, I received messages regarding my May 14 delivery. I tried to contact the sales person, but was unable. I called the delivery number and they told me it was set for the 14th and I could postpone if I couldn't be there. It had never been changed. I ended up having to take off work to receive it, and that was a good thing. The delivery men tried forcing one of the sofas through the front door without tilting it and tore the back of the couch on the stucco outside. I was standing there watching them. The king size bed I ordered came with a 9 inch box set, but when put on the rails of the bed (from them) it was so high I actually needed a step to get on it. The delivery man told me that this bed should have never included box springs (which I paid for). He said to sleep on it and let them know the next day if I didn't want them...which I did...and they said "too bad, so sad, we don't take them back." But they were happy to sell me low profile box springs for $100 plus the $10.50 recycle fee (each). They would not take back the originals sent, and yes, this 60 plus year old would have to move the mattress off the bed for them to put the new box springs on. I felt like I had no recourse...I had called corporate and they said it was up to the store manager...well, he was the one who offered the lo pro for $100 more $$. So I caved and ordered them...and then came back to my senses. Went on line to amazon, found a steel and wood lo pro that could be put together easily, bought it, opened the box and took pieces up to the bedroom, and in 15 minutes had my new box spring. Cancelled my order, and will NEVER set foot in that store again. The sales person blew me off, the manager blew me off, corporate blew me off. I don't hold ashley furniture accountable, just this awful store. They all blamed each other. The product is ok for the money, but this store is not worth my time. read more

We bought a tempur-pedic mattress and a sofa for almost $10,000 a 3-4 months ago and we bought the protection plan for it also. We called today to let them know that one side of the mattress was off balance from the other and that the sofa was dirty which includes in the protection plan for a cleaning and and a repair or replacement of the mattress. We spoke to an employee named Fransico from the 800 number after talking to him for 5 mins he claims he couldn't find our invoice and wanted us to go the store which we bought it from and get a copy of the sales purchase and email it back to him. We asked to speak to a super visor which he transferred us to named Kim. Kim also said there was nothing they could do and we needed to go to the store to get some type of proof of purchase from the store it was purchased from. keep in mind the store is an hour away and i cant drive an hour just for a piece of paper to prove my 10K purchase. I bought some stuff from Ashley furniture recently and have to say my experience with them was pretty bad. This is your very typical salesman type place. They say whatever they need to make a sale, there is a lack of honesty in this establishment that became very obvious to me as I went through the process. Quotes became different every time a new manager came around, they play a lot of games to get you to buy so be aware! Do your research before you decide to buy with them, if you feel happy with the product and they offer you the best place only then should you buy. I will not be returning for further purchases here and neither should any of you. I did have better experiences at other locations that seemed a little more straightforward. read more

In looking at the current star rating I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the experience I had this weekend. I took my elderly Mother shopping for a reasonable priced recliner and found a very nice selection to choose from. I was told "all of these chairs are marked down and we do not offer any delivery options". Uh....okay. Just curious, why should it matter if an item is reduced or not? Charge a flat fee for delivery that is profitable to the business and accommodate the paying customer right? (WRONG) Alright so the price was too good to pass up and all I needed was a truck to transport a chair 4 miles, because this baby was not fitting in my 4Runner. My sales rep Javier was very pleasant and answered any questions we had, I told him I would like the chair but would not be able to pick it until Monday (purchase made on a Saturday). Javier said they should be able to hold it for 48 hours, which was perfect as I had to make a few calls to see was around to help me out on the 4th of July. At that point a "supervisor" who was not wearing a name tag (I was later told his name is Matt, well Matt you need to learn what customer service is all about because you my friend are in the wrong business), walks up and retracts Javier's offer and says it needs to be picked up Sunday. That all but killed the deal when it did not look like "the boss" was going to budge, funny how that story changed when I said Sunday was not possible and either you want my money or you don't. AMAZING how that sentence changed his song and dance all of a sudden. 2 stars for Javier and the great price, the delivery policy and worthless floor supervisor, NOT so much....unless I'm desperate I will not be back. The hubby and I went into Ashley to check out their sofas and loveseats. We walk in and right away we were approached by a sales rep. She asked us what we were looking for and I said we were just there to look. She gave me a flyer and said if there is something I need to let her know. So we walk to the left side of the store browsing and I see her pop up and ask us "Do you like this?" Again, I tell her that we are just looking. We keep walking to the back of the store and I see her about 5 feet away watching us. So we keep walking and look at other stuff and there she is AGAIN. She tells me "Do you like this? We have a special going on". I get they are sales people and they work off commision but I really dont want to be followed while I shop. I told my husband that I can't stand it and I want to leave. I honestly saw something I was interested in but walked out the store because I was truly uncomfortable. We ended up going to Living Spaces where their sales rep dont follow you around. read more

Came here to get a new bedroom and livingroom set for my parents, I was skeptical to come to this particular location due to other people's feedback, but my concerns were pretty much gone as soon as we were greeted by one of their sales people, his name was Shady, his hospitality was over the top, I felt like we walked into his house, he offered us all something to drink, was very courteous and engaged with us like a friend would, there was never a point where we felt like we were being handled by a sales person like what ud expect! My mom has back problems and was very picky on what she needed which took at least a couple hours before she settled on something, Shady maintained the same positive and friendly attitude throughout our visit to Ashley and was extremely patient, he also made every effort to get the best deal possible which was surprising because usually the more they sell the more they make but his main focus was our satisfaction which he nailed 100%, he also got us approved for SYNCHRONY financing which was awesome because we ended up getting a 60 month plan for everything we got which is very helpful! Overall I highly recommend this location and honestly all credit goes to Shady and his professionalism, I have already told a few of my friends about this place and they are coming here for their holiday specials. 100% customer service, we couldn't be happier! read more
