I cancelled my order on April 16, and they still haven't issued a refund for the $500 in cash I paid. I went into the store, and they couldn't find my account. Bought a house and needed new furniture. I was set on a sectional! Lol I had been to 3 other stores and just did not find anything that I liked! So I came to Ashley just to look because I know their prices are high. Luckily they were having a sale and I came across a beautiful piece of furniture. I enquired about financing and was advised that they had different financing options available. So I decided to finance it. I was told that I was approved for the main financing and it would be like a revolving store credit. Well two days later I get an email that I am receiving my "Ashley Credit card". That pissed me off. Had I known I was applying for a cc I wouldn't have applied for the financing. It was a play on words and it was wrong. She should have known better but probably gets people with that a lot. Not just her but I'm sure they all do since it's partially sales based. Will never shop there again. We went to the Tacoma location and bought ALOT of furniture. The customer service in the store was great. The sales person was really helpful and informative. We liked a lot of the furniture. It was all in stock at the time of order. The real issues began when we had to start dealing with customer service and the availability of the items. They frequently changed many delivery dates and available dates of furniture. We are now out three months from purchase and still have not received all of our items. We have a couch without chairs and tables, a bunk bed without the stairs or bottom section, a bedroom set without a dresser. It all comes in pieces and we still have not received an accessory that was promised on the first shipment. When you call customer care there is NO follow through. I repeat NO follow through. You have to call back repeatedly to make sure the issue is resolved. They damaged a bunk bed in installation, we called and reported it, we were told they would call us back, no one returned our call. I had to call twice to resolve it and keep them on the phone. Next we finally got the credenza part of our desk. The delivery guys damage it during installation. I call customer care, ask her to send me an email confirming our conversation to send her back pictures, I never receive an email. I call back the next day and talk to someone else who gives me the wrong email. I finally get ahold of the intial rep and ask her if she sent the email and she says her computer wasn't working, so I ask her if she called me (which I know she didn't) and she says yes and your phone wasn't working. Well isn't that convenient? So I keep her on the phone and send her another email and she says her computer wont let her open it so she has to call me back. I guess I won't be expecting that call. The tables we ordered with our dining room set are not available until the end of July and we bought them in MARCH! No one even called to tell us they wouldn't be available for FOUR months! Point is take your money somewhere else. Between the time waiting for your furniture, the delivery guys screwing it all up, and dealing with customer care it is enough to drive you crazy!!! Seriouly and then she Tryed using her boss to get us to buy more.... Spend over 3 grand and the women still wasn't satisfied... Pushing more and more products on us. After spending 3 g they couldn't even give us free delivery??? Worst service I experienced of any retailer in the USA. I purchased a sofa and a rug from them, and when the rug arrived I found that I was having a severe allergic reaction to it. I immediately took it back to the store to return it. In the store I walked over to customer service and said I want to return the rug, and the lady in front of the counter said "haha! Good luck, we don't do returns here!" I paid $400 for this rug and can't use it and these people are laughing at me. I then spoke to the lady behind the counter, to who I said that I need to return the rug. It only sat on my floor for a day or two. I told her I am having severe allergies to it and my face swells up and sinuses close up when I'm near it. She just said "we don't do returns, it's on the receipt, sorry", "I suggest trying to sell it on offer up or something". But nobody told me they don't do returns when I was handing them my $2100. They also couldn't tell me how long it would take for my couch to arrive until after I had given them my money. Now I found out it's on back order until March next year. I will never purchase from Ashley Furniture again. Their delivery (which they claim is done by Ashley themselves) is sent to an outside vendor who is so incompetent that I doubt I'll ever receive the bulk of my order. A delivery date has been set up 3 times and the driver either gets lost, says they have no street address, or says it too close to their end of day to complete the delivery. The first time my furniture was returned to the warehouse, no one had a clue where is was so they couldn't set up a second date. The second time I received only 1 item out of 12. The third time was the same excuse as the first. When you call Ashley Delivery Support or Ashley Customer Service be sure to have something to do while you wait at lease 1/2 to 1 hour on hold. And if you finally get through to someone, they have no clue about your order. SO................... according to some nasty member of the delivery team staff, I should receive my furniture tomorrow in the same time frame they failed in today. And they act like they are doing me some great favor and charged me $179 for delivery. Very poor way to do business! read more

My husband I decided to look around the new store in Tacoma at the old Borders Bookstore to see if they had the style we preferred. We were immediately tackled by Anne, a new sales associate as she kept repeating, who bombarded us with sales information, personal information, and constantly followed us around. We immediately told her we were just looking and said thank you, hoping she would take that hint of leave us the hell alone to look. We went upstairs to explore more items, but she followed us there and then tagged along asking us more personal information. Finally, my husband flat out told her to leave us alone, we were just looking, and if she continued to pursue us, then the store just lost two customers. She remarked she was "just doing her job." That behaviour is not doing a job, but constitutes harassment. She was relentless in her pursuit and we walked out. The items we did see (the few seconds we dis have to ourselves) were over priced and not worth our time as none of it suited our desires. We've been in other stores where a sales pitch was briefly given, asked what brought us in, to which we replied, "just browsing/looking," and were left alone to do so unmolested. I don't recommend going here unless you like being harassed by staff. Plus everything is over priced. read more

I just want to start with since I work in the service industry, and even though this site may sometimes be helpful I am also aware of how incredibly terrible Yelp 'can' be, I have never had any desire to write a review on here. I understand that everyone's experience here may not have been the same as mine was, but I was so impressed by the kindness of the ladies that had been working such an incredibly long day on this year's Black Friday that it made me want to acknowledge them. Ashley Furniture is horrible! They changed the shipping date on me twice and then the third time they changed it I confirmed 3 times for a time frame but the day before they changed the time on me. I couldn't commit to the time frame on that date because I had to take my son to the doctor so they tried to make me reschedule. I had already confirmed a time frame 3 times for that date! So they said as an apology they would credit my shipping cost of $150 back to me. That was back in November! It is April now! I have called so many times I have loss count. They always tell me the samething....they are sorry, they don't know why this has happened, they will email a request and get it taken care of, they personally will follow through with it. Well, everyone of them have lied and nothing has came from it. I called today yet AGAIN and guess whar?! They told me the exact same thing!!!! I recently purchased a couch from Ashley during their Black Friday sale. The couch in question wound up not fitting my room as my wife and I had envisioned. We went back to Ashley of whom gave us the standard option to return the couch for one of equal or greater value. We settled on a couch that was really the one we should have picked in the first place and were excited to exchange it. We were told that we should expect an even wash (no extra cost). A few days later we got a call notifying us that the replacement couch was going to cost us an extra 300 Dollars! Confused, my wife and I called to explain that we felt a misinformed by the Ashley sales person that spoke with us. After pleading our case, Ashley wound up making the deal a wash minus the ottoman of which was not important to us in the first place. Overall, my wife and I felt Ashley went above and beyond to make things right. There was the misunderstanding / confusion issue but in the end it worked out. Thanks Ashley! read more

I took off work and I was called to confirm arriva. Two weeks later sofas came and one sofa had ripped leather over a month later we picked another set it was set for Jan 7th delivery, just received a call that they would be delayed until end of month! This was a November purchase, unbelievable. Well they refunded me my delivery fees. I am binded to a purchase though being that I opened credit with Ashley and it's past the 48 hr return window. I would recommend that no one shop at this store! They have misleading and deceptive marketing similar to a switch and bait. I saw a sofa that I liked and asked the sales manager, who was nearby, if the price on the sign was for the sofa it was in front of and was told "yes". I was excited and said I wanted to purchase the sofa. After the invoice was prepared the price was much higher then advertised. Both the sales manager and sales person expected that I would pay the higher price because I loved the sofa. I did not purchase the sofa and left very upset and felt deceived. Absolutely appalling business practices experienced without even entering the store! The following outlines an incident we had with this store and Lucky Transport, their go-to tow company. Basically, if you aren't in the store at that very moment, they tow you. I've elevated this to Get Jesse on Kiro news, Ashley Furniture Headquarters, and Better Business Bureau. Why would anyone shop with a place that mistreats potential and existing customers? This store will be out of business soon with practices like this! What should have been a fun visit to see friends and hang out in Tacoma became a very frustrating situation of being 8 months pregnant in the pouring down rain, bullied by a tow truck driver called out by your store manager, and your store manager just shrugging her shoulders at the situation that she caused. This store is adjacent to a Chick-Fil-A that we wanted to stop at for lunch. As we pulled up, I mentioned to my husband that I was surprised to see an Ashley Furniture store next door since we had been in other areas that stores had closed. With limited parking at Chick-Fil-A, my husband parked next door in a row not marked reserved for Ashley Furniture. (The other 4 rows in the parking lot were lined with Ashley only parking signs.) We figured we'd have lunch then browse the store to see what Ashley Furniture had as we are looking for ideas for our home since we enjoy looking at furniture stores, especially as we prepare our home for a new baby soon. While we were at lunch, my husband looked up to see our vehicle hooked up to a tow truck and ready to be towed. He went out there to try to stop our truck from being towed away, especially since he has a pregnant wife and a child to take care of and drive back home to another state later that day. The tow truck driver told my husband our truck was illegally parked in the Ashley Furniture parking lot and continued to hook up the truck rather than giving him time to even talk with the store manager who had called him to tow our vehicle. When I went out to assess the situation, the tow truck driver was yelling at me. (I asked him to stop yelling, which he said he wasn't doing but could easily do.) He basically threatened that we produce specific information about our vehicle and pay him $218 on the spot or he would tow the truck to the impound and verify information which "could take up to 12 hours". He also said that if the information only showed my name and not my husband's, that my husband needed to leave. (There was no way my husband would leave his pregnant wife standing out in the rain with a tow truck driver being a complete jerk and in no way should he have ever been asked to leave. Thankfully friends were taking care of our child while we guarded our car and tried to figure out how to address the situation.) (Also, I do feel we were targeted because we had out of state license plates which meant we were stranded if our truck was towed as we were a few hours from home so this "12 hours" was a great bully tactic by the tow truck driver.) The tow truck driver explained that Ashley Furniture's policy is that if we weren't actually in the store at that time, then our car could be towed because we weren't customers in that precise moment. He explained that our option was to go into the store, either shop and then let them know we would go to lunch, or tell them we wanted to get lunch and then come in to shop after, but that we should've done that right when we got there. The tow truck driver is Ashley Furniture's go-to tow truck company and on standby waiting for them to call and tow anyone who isn't in the store. (What about people who want to have lunch and look at furniture in one stop? It's a lot easier to park in one spot rather than load up a family just to park a few feet away to go into the store directly next door.) The driver explained that Chick-Fil-A and Ashley Furniture store worked out an agreement to share one row of parking (which is the only row NOT marked as Ashley only parking AND where our vehicle was parked). He shared that another car had been parked in this particular row, the car owner had been in the store and even made a transaction, then went next door to have lunch. One of your store employees had called to have him towed and that car owner had to come up with information and his Ashley receipt to show that he'd been in the store just so his car wouldn't get towed. What kind of ridiculous practice is this? Especially when Ashley allowed Chick-Fil-A to use that particular row and it wasn't marked as Ashley only parking like every other row in the lot, and even more so that this was someone who actually spent money in the Ashley store? My husband and another couple tried talking to the manager about the incident and she basically shrugged her shoulders at it. This is a terrible way to do business! The first time I visited was okay. I did not find anything too much that I liked but the person was helpful and not pushy. The second time I visited was after I called 3 times (each time I was pushed to their corporate call center) and I asked if 1) they had a couch on the floor and 2) if I can order it. I was told yes and yes. I found a couch, made by Ashley, that I had purchased at another store but it has defective so I thought I would order it directly from Ashley. The woman who helped me could not find the couch in their system, only an ottoman that matched. Even though I called, and after 3 tries, got to speak to someone in the Tacoma, WA store. It was such a waste of time driving over 45 minutes there. They have lost any future business. I should be able to order a couch, made by Ashley, at the Ashley store. But no, only the ottoman. I just had the worst experience in a furniture store of my life. Two weeks ago ordered a sectional and a bed set. Today the delivery was over an hour and a half late. The delivery personnel stated that they didn't have the completed bed set due not having bed rails on the truck,( and they were 1 and half hours late and was lost...couldn't find my house), for set up, and asked if they could leave the rest of the bed, the mirror, dresser, and nightstand in our garage. My husband stated no. The sectional that was brought to my home was the wrong color. I called Ashley's customer service was on hold for 15 minutes. Then called on my other phone to speak to the sales associate who sold me the furniture. The manager, one of the managers, seem to have partial partial knowledge of the situation. She could tell I was very upset, but she had an attitude on the phone, this asking to speak to the sales associate that sold me the furniture. After speaking to that manager, and being upset about the entire customer service ordeal, I canceled the entire purchase. They called back to let me know it will take 24 hours for the cancellation to go into effect, and that I will receive an email to an email address I didn't state to use for the cancellation of the purchase. Overall, I was a former Ashley customer, however this was the worst experience of my life with any furniture store. It didn't seem that they cared about customer service. It didn't seem that they wanted to take care of the situation - from the manager and to the delivery personnel. There was no empathy of this situation. It was as if they were doing us a favor versus keeping us as customers...especially being that we are loyal customers. Instead of this being the one star review this should be a zero star review. The Worse Customer Service ever! When we were buying things they were nice because we were spending money... this was a year ago I purchased my items.. When my fireplace went out a week ago (December 2020) I called them spoke to 5/6 different people and no one put notes in or knew what was going on each day I called. They attempted to make the 1st delivery and it was the wrong item. The second time they got it right after me being on the phone so many times telling them which item they needed to come replace... This Makes me never want to buy from Ashley's Furniture store again! All of the staff do not have good Customer Service and are not on the same page when it comes to resolution and things needing to be replaced and shipped out! Went in look for a living room set a saw on line, I was greeted right away by Amber. She was very friend, didn't hover over but did check on me often. The set wasnt in the store but when I showed her the picture she was familiar with it and showed me a set very similar. She ordered and had it delivered in a week. The best part was the price on line was a lot cheap and included the Ottoman. They matched the price with no questions, so I saved over $2000. My shopping experience was easy and I was in and out in less than an hour, which was great! read more

The absolute worst experience for purchasing simple furniture. We came to the Tacoma store over 3 weeks ago to order furniture. We are moving from California, so I had a specific day and time that the furniture COULD NOT be delivered before as we would not be in the state. I was told by the employee who did our order that I could pick a SPECIFIC delivery time. 3 days before the scheduled delivery, I phoned Ashley Furniture to ensure that the furniture would NOT be delivered before 2pm as we wouldn't be in the state, and this is what should have been on my order. To my surprise, Ashley furniture does not schedule specific delivery times. But I was not told this by the employee, but told the exact opposite!! I would have not purchased $4k in furniture if I knew they didn't schedule. I phoned Ashley furniture many times (often with them hanging up on me) to talk to some incredibly rude customer service people who blatantly told me "there's nothing we can do about the time". My delivery was scheduled for 8.45 AM-12:45. I explained that I had told the store I needed after 2pm and was told it would happen. I explained MULTIPLE times that I would literally be sleeping on the floor if the furniture was not delivered. The Ashley furniture "hotline help" said "well that's up to you!" WOW VERY HELPFUL FOR AN EMPLOYEE MISTAKE. Since I am towing a trailer, I had to have my dad drive from California to Washington in one day (18 hrs) to be there for 8.45am. I was then told the delivery people would not wait THREE MINUTES for my dad to obtain the keys. The hotline lady told me AGAIN there was "nothing she could do and they can't wait 3 minutes" SERIOUSLY? 3 DAMN MINUTES AFTER MY DAD HAS DRIVEN FROM CALIFORNIA TO FIX THEIR MISTAKE??? I was told the Tacoma store manager would call me yesterday about refunding my delivery fee, which has still not happened. The hotline lady sent an extensive email with all of the problems I encountered and said I'd get a phone call by the end of the day. I phone back before the store closed since I had still not received a call, and was told AGAIN by an employee that the manager was "not working" but she would ask if the manager could call me from home. NO PHONE CALL EVER CAME IN. I have still not heard a word from the manager or anyone and it is the next day now, which means that yet again I have to chase them. The manager of this store obviously does not care about their customers and is far "too busy" to even talk to me. DO NOT spend your money here. This is the absolute worst buying experience I've ever had. People make mistakes, and perhaps the employee made a mistake about the policy. Even though not excusable, a reputable business would go to all extents to try to fix it and compensate me for having an extra person drive over 900 miles to fix THEIR mistake. Of course for Ashley furniture, this is not the case. I am still trying to get a hold of the manager, and it does not seem like it will happen or that they are interested in talking to me. I will never be buying furniture from this business again, and I advise that you spend your money elsewhere. They don't care about their customers... all the way from the general store to the corporate help. If I had the opportunity and ability, I would have returned everything and went with a different business. It is an unbelievable experience and the RUDEST people I have ever dealt with. When we first arrived in the store one of the employees swept my sister and I off of our feet... My sister explained to this lady that she is trying to buy a home and that she doesn't want any hard hits. This lady and my sister literally discussed for a solid 10 minutes how messed up people can be when it comes to credit checks for financing, and how rude it is when they trick you! She assured my sister that she would only be running a credit check to see how much my sister would be approved for. She explains that when my sister runs her finances (to see what she would be approved for) it would only put a SOFT HIT on her credit and it would go away if she DID NOT end up making a purchase. The lady said it would only be a HARD HIT if she DID make a purchase. She was friendly but way too much. she would say "ill let you guys check things out (such as a mattress) and talk about it and be back later." Okay, well she literally would come back 2 minutes later making it uncomfortable and wouldn't have really left in the first place she would just be 2 yards away listening to our conversations. She kept telling very personal life stories, and maybe it was just her personality to explain her life to strangers but it sort of felt like she was trying to become closer to me on a personal level. I still was kind to her but it was just a bit much, I didn't need or want to know all of that; it wasn't like i asked or anything. I kept telling my sister i just didn't know if i wanted it because yeah it was comfy but it wasn't my favorite especially for the price. I ended up leaving because my toddler was getting really fussy and it had been a long day. Right before i was leaving though the woman brought over her manager. The manager came in pretty aggressively asking what the issue was, and why the hesitance to make the purchase? She continues on to say that since my sister had already ran her credit to see the finance options available that if she DID NOT make a purchase that she just put a HARD HIT on her credit FOR NO REASON. That it would be better to make the purchase and at least take the hit for something! She kept asking my sister "what can i do to get your business? I'll extend it out to 18 months for payments" my sister kept saying she doesn't need it out to 18 months she just didn't know if i wanted it or not, but mind you i did not want to talk about it in front of them because i felt so PRESSURED to make a purchase i didn't really want that bad! *I just wanted to leave cause my toddler was getting upset but i also didn't want to be rude and interrupt them talking to my sister to say "hey can we leave" -now i know i should just do it anyways. lesson learned. I ended up just leaving and then messaged my sister to come out so we can talk about it in private. When my sister came back she told me they were implying that the reason i didn't want the mattress was because it was hard to decide with a fussy baby. **My sister also said that she was lied to about the credit check being for 'what she would be approved for' was actually for a CREDIT CARD. ** We ended up leaving and now know better to not trust people. I definitely should have looked up their reviews and am glad we didn't end up purchasing anything because it looks like almost every single store has problems with delivery, etc. Sure the furniture isn't bad but it was just poor costumer service. I bought the top of the line Tempur pedic Mattress from Ashley Home Store in Tacoma, (Over 5000 for the mattress, box springs and mattress protector) they notified me and set up delivery and not once did they say I'd only be getting 1 of the three items in the order on that delivery day, yet when the delivery day came I got the mattress only, and no follow up has been given as to when the other two items will arrive, The delivery team didn't believe me about missing items and I had to get out my receipt! Jim Leonard the store manager gave me his "personal cell phone number" in case I needed anything and I called and left a message and have never gotten a call back. Furthermore, he said it was his personal cell number, but when i got home I realized it was also on his business card?! I've called customer service repeatedly and the customer service reps in Calif can never get anyone on the phone at the store, nor got back to me as all three of them said they would. I cannot get anyone in the store on the phone, and now I have a mattress on the floor. This place is ridiculous, and for all my time and trouble just trying to reach someone was told they would not give me the delivery fee back (though they were supposed to match Tempur pedic's own conditions when i purchased there and Tempurpeic had free delivery! I am disgusted that I did not just drive to Tukwilla and purchase my mattress from Tempurpedic directly! The customer service is non existent! Overall, our experience with Ashley HomeStore has had a few hiccups but they're trying to make it right. My fingers are crossed. The real saving grace has been our salesman, Matthew. He was very helpful and answered all our questions (and there were many) thoroughly. I highly recommend asking for him if you're looking to buy. read more

If I could give Ashely furniture 0 stars I would. We bought a dining room table a couple months ago. Paid over $700 for it. It got wet (as it's meant to have food and drinks on) and it's completely water logged in spots from even the smallest amount of water on it. Customer service sent someone out to look at it and then I heard nothing for 2 weeks. I called today and they are telling me there's nothing they can do since I didn't buy extra protection on a table. Extra protection on a table! I'm pissed and will never buy any Ashley product again. read more

Awful. We went in to purchase some furniture for our home that we had found online. Online showed the retail price was $240, but the item was on sale for $140. We went into the store and gave them the item's information planning to purchase right away. The salesman said the total would be over $600... We were obviously blown away and asked why it was so much. He stated the retail price in store is different than online and that they cannot "price match" with their own website. Obviously it made no sense buying from the store so we purchased the items online instead. I would also like to mention the sales person was most definitely high out of his mind (seemed like cocaine). He was visibly shaking and speaking incredibly fast and stuttering and was not able to do basic math without using a calculator (140+140). His mask would not stay on his face, it fell down with every word he said. I cannot believe he even had the audacity to try and sell us a mattress afterward. There's no point in going to this store. Ashley products are cheaper online or at Costco and Big Lots. This store is an absolute joke and they should drug test all of their employees immediately. read more

If I could give them negative stars, I would. Their customer service is the absolute worst. I've spent hours and hours on the phone, drafting emails, sending info through Facebook, etc. only to receive either no response or no help whatsoever. I ordered a table, chairs and bench set for my daughter several months ago. The table and chairs arrived, but no bench. My daughter and family are moving this week, but Ashley cannot/will not provide any information about the missing bench. They won't help with changing the delivery address or even cancel the order. Because it's been soooo long since I ordered, if the bench ever does get sent, it's going to be delivered to an address in which the recipients no longer live! The first time I called "customer service" (in quotes), I was on hold for 25 minutes, then spoke to a rude person with a screaming child in the background. She couldn't help so she transferred me to someone else. He said he would find out through UPS when the bench would be sent. I was on hold with him for about 40 minutes only to have him come back and tell me he was transferring me to a "higher up customer service person." This person was worse than the first two. She was rude, used one-word sentences, was inarticulate and offered or gave absolutely no help. Pretty much all she said was, "yeah", "nah" and "wha?" She said there was a UPS tracking number, but didn't offer it. When I asked her to please tell me the tracking number, she read it off so fast I had to repeat it back several times to make sure I had it right. When I looked up the tracking number, it states UPS is waiting to receive the item from Ashley to ship it! But Ashley won't tell me when it will be sent. Horrible experience!! read more

I ordered my furniture set on 3/25/2019. The arrival date was 4/10/2019. Only one of the 5 parts arrived on time. One of the four parts was broken when it arrived. Took more than a week to get a replacement. Second shipment came, entertainment center and table where not only late, the hardware on the entertainment center was missing. Had two options. Return it or keep it and have them send the hardware. I chose to keep it, the movers left and I called. Four weeks to get the hardware, had to go buy my own for $60 and my stuff will come in four weeks. Next piece came more than a week late. Then last pierce came to UPS, too large to deliver. They said I would get a card and could drive and pick up a 8 foot piece with no truck. No card came and they shipped it back. Then they set to deliver by UPS again. Lord knows when I will get the last piece. I will never buy from Ashley Home Store again. I ordered on line instead of at a store because the store couldn't get it together. I guess I should have read the other reviews BEFORE we purchased a sofa and loveseat on July 4. They talked as though they had the furniture in stock and we would have it soon. We scheduled delivery on the 24th due to my schedule and we were notified on the 20th that only the sofa would be delivered on the 24th but the loveseat would be delivered on Sept 4!! How is that ok? 2 months from purchase date to wait for delivery?? I'll have to tell the relatives who are coming in August they will be sitting on the floor. And the vague delivery time that you get at the last minute is another story. If we can afford to shop at their store we are obviously working people and need more than 2 days notice to arrange time off work to be available for a 3 hour time window. I'm done shopping there for sure. I like my sofa but the customer service stinks. read more

Horrible experience. Bought two pairs of lamps this weekend and salesperson said to pick up on Thursday. Went to pick up tonight and was told that the delivery date to the store is February 8th. This is unacceptable. read more
