Store folks were great. (Salesman and ladies at the payment desk.) Delivery guys were fine. However - the products that were delivered were damaged! Contacting and proving damage and returns were a pain! Damaged part for one item was mailed to us to fix on our own. The bench that went with our new dining table was damaged every time it was delivered!!!!!! After FIVE benches being delivered damaged, my wife and I decided to piece together the best two pieces we could find. Just plain tired of deliveries and being disappointed. I had a very disappointing experience with the Ashley Furniture Home Store in York, PA. The customer service was extremely poor. When I called to resolve an issue, I was placed on hold for over 30 minutes, and then they hung up on me. I was told they did not care that they lost a customer or that I was unhappy with the situation. In addition, they charged me for a protection plan even though I only received one item, and the delivery team was unprofessional and did not complete their job properly. Overall, I expected much better service and clear communication. Unfortunately, my experience leaves me unable to recommend this store. read more

We visited Ashley Furniture in York on 2/22/26. The salesperson was Tricia. She lied to us regarding availability of items we saw online and stated no stores would have the sofas that we wanted to see. She waited on us and then left for another couple. After waiting a long time, I saw that she was waiting on yet another person. There were other sales staff that had no customers. We were annoyed that she blew us off after waiting at the store for a long time and had to leave. After leaving we later went to another Ashley store, found and purchased the exact sofa that we saw online, one that she said would not be available in any other nearby stores. 0 Stars - Unprofessional, Damaging, and Completely Unresponsive This has been one of the worst customer experiences we've ever had and we will never shop at Ashley Furniture again. Our experience started when we walked into the store and made a purchase within 30 minutes -- what we thought would be a quick and easy process turned into a months-long ordeal, and is still not resolved. First, our Ashley Furniture delivery went to the wrong address. Once the delivery team finally arrived at the correct location, they scuffed our walls and denied doing it, even though the damage was clear. While inspecting the sectional, we found the wedge piece ripped in two places, so we immediately requested a replacement. What made this worse was reviewing our doorbell camera footage later that evening -- we were shocked to see the delivery team throwing our furniture cushions into the house from outside. We returned to the store to speak with store manager, Tony and showed him the footage. He agreed to send it to corporate and said they'd work on a reimbursement. Not only did we never hear back, but on a second visit to follow up, another employee even referenced having seen the footage, which means they shared it internally but still did nothing. After all of that, it still took three more delivery attempts for Ashley to get us the correct replacement wedge. We followed up in person multiple times and were given the runaround each time -- no reimbursement, no meaningful apology, no resolution. This store was completely unhelpful, unprofessional, and dismissive at every step. The delivery team's behavior was unacceptable, and the lack of accountability from Ashley Furniture as a brand is even worse. read more

Wow - just look at a few of the other reviews and you will easily decide never to shop here. Our review almost sounds verbatim. This has one the worst retail experiences my wife and I have ever had. Our couch was delivered almost a week ago. The delivery personnel were is such a hurry that they scratched up new doors and frames and damaged a screen door. We just moved in to a completely remodeled home. The couch was pushed through with such force that the frame of the reclining portion is bent so badly that it will not retract We have contacted Regency, Ashley's parent company, Ashley HQ, the local store but nothing has been done. The general manager at the location refuses to speak to us. We get texts and emails just asking for our phone number and pictures and videos of the damage again and then no other contact fir days, despite our daily emails, texts and calls. It has now been 9 days since the botched delivery and the house damage. Its comical, the $2,000 couch looks like it was rear ended in an auto accident. They will get your money, and you never hear from them again. Delivery dates keep getting pushed back months and months, and they will not update you unless you call. I don't know how they have this rating. They sold me a fake leather couch with springs that went bad in less then a year. The current manager was probably the only good thing about this store who tried to do what he could, I dropped trying after that giving up any hope of getting my issue resolved. But here's the kicker the store owner called me 2 weeks later telling me how I was wrong. No wonder why there employee turnover is so high when the store owner acts like a child. Very disappointed with Ashley Furniture. Had an order for coffee table set. Six weeks after order submitted, I stopped to inquire about delivery. They had to check and would get back to me, but I never heard back from them. A week later, stopped in again. I was told end tables were in the warehouse, but the coffee table was ???? After a few moments the Sales Associate said, It appears that a few days after your order was placed the tables were discontinued. So, it apparently meant I was NOT getting the coffee table. I wanted the set because of the coffee table, not interested in just the end tables. So, the order was cancelled and money refunded. Before leaving the store, we walked over to the location where tables were on display. Guess what, they were still there. Why couldn't a deal be made for that coffee table if it was a discontinued item? Then the following day an Ashley Clearance email just so happen had that same coffee table pictured. No red flag on an item that was ordered that was being discontinued. Had to stop in store to get a status on order. Was table discontinued? Or was my order not entered correctly? Didn't appreciate the confusion, lack of proper follow-up on status, inconvenience and needing to start over again after 7 weeks. read more

My friend stopped by here one night to find a new couch and found that AND a nice matching chair too. She said she'd think about it and come back; the man working said he'd give her an additional percentage off. Store never called about missing quoted delivery times. "Notes" on account were never made had to repeat situation every time to every single representative. Store was never proactive about account updates. Blaming everything on the manufacturer and COVID with no responsibility on company itself. If they looked at the "standard lead time" and noticed it wasn't happening a simple updated time from 8-12 weeks for delivery would suffice. All we get is "I don't know", "We don't have that information", "There is nothing else I can do." Have some self respect and company dignity. read more

I tried to purchase a clearance sofa online for the clearance price but was referred to the stores. I called five different stores without success. Some had them in stock and some supposedly didn't. None would honor the online clearance price, which struck me as 'bait & switch.' The Lancaster, Pa. store originally told me that they had seven in stock but recanted after being asked to honor the clearance price, saying that they had none. The York, Pa. store had them in-stock but simply refused to honor the clearance price. I'm told that Ashley's online store is a separate entity from the physical stores. Ashley Furniture's business model appears to be decentralized between their corporate owned & independently owned stores & the stores vs. their online website which results in a lack of subsequent customer service accountability. I've concluded that Ashley Furniture is not a store I feel comfortable doing business with, considering my experience. read more

Seems like the days of buying furniture from an honest store in this area is a thing of the past. Wolf's, Ashley's, Unclaimed Freight and all these low budget entry level home furnishing store are the same. They use tricky marketing and shady pricing to get you in and sell you a dream which turns into a nightmare. They use phrases like "In Stock" to get you to buy now but in stock actually means it's going to take 6 to 8 weeks to get to you. They also say, "everything in the store is for display and your order will be custom." Which means if you don't like it, you have to pay a 50% re-stocking fee because no one will ever want to buy something that you custom ordered. read more

I need to start by stating that we have purchased furniture several times in the past from Ashley without an issue. We purchased a bedroom suite in December 2021. My wife and I purchased a recliner about 6 months ago from the Ashley Furniture store in York, PA. We paid for their extended, five-year warrantee plan as well. All told, we spent well over $1000. After we had it for some weeks we noticed that it was becoming more and more tilted as the chair was reclined. Also, we noticed that depressions in the arms of the recliner were appearing. We called our local store to share our concerns. An Ashley technician was sent to our home to examine the recliner. He told us that the arms were manufactured in such a way as to make breakage of the cardboard under the padding inevitable. He determined the defect to be unrepairable. He also assured us he had never seen personally this type of manufacture of a recliner arm before. The technician then examined the mechanism under the chair and pointed out that a metal plate on one side was bent and must have been so at manufacture. The Ashley technician photographed the defects and reported all he had found to Ashley Furniture. We contacted the local Ashley store We were told that a replacement chair would be provided us at no cost to us. We offered that if given a refund we would gladly purchase a different recliner, not wanting a similar problem. We were told that if we purchased a new recliner with the refund money we would be charged an additional $99.99 for shipping. We argued in vain that we, the offended customers, should not have to pay additional shipping charges to replace the recliner with a different one. Not wanting to pay another $99.99 for shipping, we agreed to have our recliner replaced with another of the same. After several weeks the delivery of the replacement recliner was scheduled. Today, the delivery truck arrived. The driver entered our house, took pictures of the recliner, and said he was not allowed to "exchange" the recliner because he found a scratch and dog hair on it. After hours of being on hold as well as being redirected to multiple phone numbers as well as talking to the customer care person at the warehouse and the local manager I was told the following: "Because there was a scratch mark and dog hair on the chair, Ashley Furniture will not replace their defective product." I was told repeatedly by several Ashley Furniture representatives that they do not differentiate between defective products that are to be "replaced" and "exchanges" made if the customer simply doesn't like the color, size, etc. once delivered. So, we are out over $1000 and Ashley Furniture refuses to replace a product declared defective by their own technician. Has anyone else experienced similar treatment from Ashley Furniture? read more

I have never been more disappoiny4d in a retailer ever. We are on delivery number 3 and the order is still damaged. When calling l, what they call customer service, theycant help you without pictures. Pictures their delivery people took and submitted amd were not good enough. So you call and start to get help they won't help you so you ask for a supervisor and they place you on hold for over an hour!!! The WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Just wasted an hour of my time - promises to price match online prices + shipping and tax, and then refused to once I found the product online, even after adding white glove delivery and tax. I don't blame the floor sales people though - whichever manager behind the scenes making the call is the one responsible. She literally had promised to price match, the sales person discussed with her and they came back and offered prices which I agreed to, we were discussing delivery when I walked to the back of the store with the sales woman, and that was when the manager changed her mind when she saw that I was black, with a flimsy excuse about too many price points. We ordered a suite of office furniture, making selections in the local Ashley Furniture store on Arsenal Rd. in York. We were told the furniture would arrive within 6 weeks of the date of purchase. We placed the order on 8/11/2021 and it never arrived. We had extremely poor customer service from the representative who took the call we placed to the store to inquire as to the ETA on the furniture. The call was then transferred to the store manager, Tammy who advised that a) the chairs we ordered had been discontinued; b) the desk and bookcase may not arrive until sometime in 2022 (she could not provide a more specific ETA) and c) they would charge a $700 fee to issue a refund. The desk actually arrived this weekend but was severely and irreparably damaged (the corner of the desk looked as though it had been smashed). I called to apprise the manager (Tammy) of the damaged desk. I requested a full refund for the furniture. Tammy stated that a refund would not be possible citing a policy that there is a 72-hour window for returns upon delivery. Not only was Tammy incredibly rude and unapologetic, the sales terms and rules refund policy does not specify any policy regarding a 72-hour window for refund requests. She stated that she would not be able to help me and I should "go ahead and call corporate." When I advised that we would be filing with small claims court she stated that she would not speak to me any longer and hung up on me. We paid in full for our furniture at the time of purchase in the amount of $2428.45. We received a partial refund totaling $610.96 for the discontinued chairs but the remaining $1817.49 has not been refunded. I placed a call to the corporate office and waited on hold for 2 hours before the call was suddenly disconnected. It seems that we will have to take legal action in order to recoup our money. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that when she asked her manager to give us a certain price, the manager was only willing to give us the price we wanted if we would go lower on the financing time period.
