I decided to pop into Ashley Furniture the other day to see what they had available in sofas. First and foremost, I was met by Kayla (found out later that she is a fairly new salesperson). She was phenomenal. Kayla turned out to be one of the BEST salespersons that I've have the pleasure of dealing with ANYWHERE (not just at Ashley's). She went way above and beyond to try and help me find the sofa and chair that would suit my needs. She even went to the point of carrying a larger than normal ottoman over to the set to see if it would look good together. Kayla was EXTREMELY patient with me and made my shopping experience much more pleasant than I anticipated. I eventually purchased a set even though my intentions were to actually go to 2 or 3 other furniture stores. Hopefully I didn't make a mistake! NOW onto the furniture selections themselves........ One of the things that I was disappointed in was the fact that, at Ashley's, they do not offer the possibility of being able to choose your own fabric. If I had known that beforehand, I might have skipped Ashley altogether and gone elsewhere. But hopefully the set I chose will work well. A final thought - I have read numerous reviews on Ashley Furniture and a large number of them state how poor the customer service was. I can definitely tell you one thing......if you make it a point to acquire Kayla as your salesperson, you will NOT be able to write a negative review about that portion of your shopping experience. Will never shop here again. Had a horrible experience and they are just money hungry. I ordered a couch... waited 3 weeks for it to arrive just for them to tell me it wouldn't fit up the stairs. When I had originally gone shopping for the couch I made it very clear that the staircase was narrow but was reassured it would be fine. I went to order something new and they still charged me a delivery fee for a couch that I didn't originally want but was the only one really in my price range. read more

Very disappointed with the service when I went in looking for a bedroom set. Was in the store for about an hour and no one offered to assist me. Finally I asked an employee for assistance and they told me no problem they would be right back, but after 10 minutes they did not return. So the comment by Jessica O about wanting to help resolve our problem was more dishonestly by Ashley Furniture. No one called or wrote back. No one has agreed to help. My husband and I just bought a new bedroom suite and mattress for our 12 year old son. Got a great deal for the NEW items. My husband went to pick it up from the warehouse (45mins from our house) and there was a box missing. They located of right before he pulled out however. When we got home to unload the stuff- there was a broken drawer. We called and arranged to have a new drawer sent to us. Upon opening the rest of the boxes- turns out the entire trundle is broken. Called back and had to leave a message. When they called back they said we could bring it back and they would see if the could fix it. Excuse me? We bought a NEW bed so I want a NEW bed. They then said they would order a new one and we could go pick it up. NO. We already made the trip there once. They then agreed to deliver it. Just had a call today. It will be delivered IN THREE WEEKS. Never again. Also- the lady at the front desk at the store is extremely rude. I'll never purchase from Ashely again. read more

I didn't even make it into this store... Their customer service lost me from the moment I called them. Leading up to that call, I had spent a great deal of time online trying to find a sectional sofa that would be the right dimensions and color and style for our living room. I found one that was sold by Ashley Furniture, but the shipping seemed outrageous. I immediately thought it was strange that I couldn't just order the sofa to be delivered to the local store at Loucks Rd, rather than paying over $100 to ship it to my door and then having to be here for the delivery. It occurred to me that maybe I could order through the local store instead of ordering online. I'd be doing them a favor right? They get commission and income from a fairly expensive purchase, rather than it going to the corporate website. In my mind, it made sense. So I decided the best thing to do would be to call the local Ashley furniture store and find out if it is possible that they already have the sectional sofa in stock, or whether they may be capable of ordering it. I asked the girl on the phone, "is there any way you can check if you have this sectional sofa?" She said, "No, all our sales people are busy right now. You'll have to come into the store and look for yourself." Then I asked her, "Can I place an order for the sofa from the store if you don't have it in stock?" She proceeded to repeat her previous statement and I found it really odd that she didn't answer my question at all. Am I really supposed to drive 30 minutes to your store to see if you have something just to find that you don't have it and not be able to order it from you anyway? Nah, I'll pass. Thankfully, I found the same sofa at Sears website with free shipping, and it was on Sale for nearly $100 less than Ashley Furniture was selling it for online. Guess who I bought my sofa from? I have never shopped at Ashley before, but after that lousy customer server experience, I will definitely never try to again. read more

I used to love Ashley furniture, but these customer service has become abysmal at best. The sales rep I used to always work with (and most of my house has Ashley furniture) was amazing. Becca was helpful before, during and after the process. She was never just about the sale. She worked to create forever customers. Since she has left, there is no one there that isn't just about the sale. A chair we bought 2 years ago is no longer working. The switch has gone bad. Apparently the part is no longer made and the attitude was "oh well, not our problem. You own the chair you figure it out. We'd be happy to sell you a new one though". So, after 2 years, that part for a chair is discontinued and you think I'll buy another chair from you? Not going to happen. I'll go to a place that wants a forever customer and stands behind their product and doesn't declare parts on a 2 year old chair obsolete so I have to buy a new one. read more

They were wonderful and very helpful until the deal closed. Then I tried to get the delivery date moved up as promised before my purchase, no way they said. In fact they never even bothered to call back after I left a message or three messages. With so many choices I will shop elsewhere next time. Addendum: When you give someone a gift card there usually aren't any conditions. I was promised 3 separate gift cards. I finally received one. But you have to buy $500 worth of stuff. Typically I avoid the commission based retailers as I find them pushy and over bearing. But alas I was in need of a new sofa and I'm cheap so I went during a clearance sale. Rebecca helped us out and she wasn't too pushy so I worked with her and in the end the wife found something she really liked. While I didn't intend to get my recliner at the same time Rebecca and my wife talked me into with making a good deal and knocking off a bunch by making it a combo deal. Even after making some big purchases here I still feel they're a bit high priced and I would never pay full retail here. read more

Costumer service is great and phenomenal in this stores location ! . It's the delivery team and Corp. office which is horrible service . I bought brand new furniture in cash it took two weeks to deliver it. They broke my door frame, and delivered me a broken sofa with the springs popping out of the bottom. I noticed it within 12 hrs of there delivery and called them immediately to tell them about the damages done to my apartment and that the sofa was broken . The representative told me someone will get back to me in on Monday and will handle the situation. It has been 2 weeks and now they say it is too late that it has already been accepting into my house house and I had 72hr to report, and that they can only send a repair man to fix the sofa. I will NEVER GO BACK TO ASHLEYYYYY. They are a disgrace and horrible business. Becareful of what you buy. This is a lesson learn that Ashley furniture is not out to please the consumer but just to nickle and dime you any chance they can. When can the repair man come to fix it you ask ? Mid December which is roughly 2 months after purchased date. So now I have a broken sofa in my living that I cannot sit on for the next few months . Thank you Ashley ! read more

If you're shopping for furniture, DO NOT shop at the Ashley Furniture store on Route 30 in York, PA. Bought a sectional there, went home that night and my wife happened to check the price online at AshleyFurniture.com and came to discover that it was $1,200 cheaper online. The store was littered with sale promo signs touting the "low prices". In fact, everything in the store was marked 55% off. The only problem: that was 55% off a completely bogus, ridiculously inflated price. The sectional we bought was marked down from $6,200 (completely made up, BS price) to $3,500 in the store. Was able to get the store to match the online price, but only after a lot of hassle. Initially wanted to cancel to keep the lying salesman from earning a commission on my purchase but was told I would have to pay a 10% "restocking fee". Again, just another BS sales tactic. They were perfectly content to try to gouge me without my knowledge and they'll do the same to you and anyone else they can. Worst furniture shopping experience ever. read more

Went in and purchased furniture 3 weeks before I moved into my apartment and it still took 5 weeks to receive it. Once received the glass tops for the tables were missing, I was told they would have them maid directly to my apartment and would receive them in 7 - 10 business days. One the 11th day I called to see were the tops were and was advised they would check on them but it will not be unlit Monday before they could get back to me since it was Friday evening. When I did not get a call back Monday I called Tuesday, and was advised I would have my tops by the 21st, unacceptable! The 21st over 2 months after the original purchase date, and still no tops!!! read more

We are very pleased with the service in York store! I appreciate the job done by Huguette Caputo and her attitude and professional qualities. She and the manager were extremely helpful and we are satisfied with the price. We bought a bed and a sofa on our 1st visit and dresser and a night stand from the same collection later. Everything arrived in time and it is really beautiful! It is made of good quality wood and leather. When I visited the store they had several good sales going. The sales associate I worked with was kind and knowledgable. The crew who came to my house to deliver and set up was very good and pleasant to work with. The only reason I gave a 4 star was setting up a delivery time was a bit of a nightmare. Because I don't live in York they only delivered to the Columbia area on Wednesday. They call you the day before and give you a 3hour window of delivery that could be at any point in the day forcing you to take a day off work but you won't know which Wednesday until they call the night before. I spoke with the people at the store and was able to get them to deliver on a Saturday. They wanted to charge me $50 because it was not the normal delivery day in my area. They did not tell me about this charge the day I was in the store. I was able to get the charge waived in the end and got a Saturday delivery so all was well in the end and I am very happy with the finished product. read more

We bought over 12K of furniture over a year ago. Salesmen was awesome but the service after the sale STINKS! They don't communicate with each other, are quick to judge and some are downright unprofessional. I have dealt with everyone from the guys in the back to the Manager of the York PA store. I honestly can say I have never been treated more poorly in my life! Customer service at the York, PA Store does not exist....don't even ask them anything. After last weekend's fiasco with the delivery of a replacement matter (by the way it never happened) coupled with the delivery guys leaving my mattress leaning against my dresser and basically sprinting out of my home saying "customer service will call you". They jumped into their truck and left, I had no idea they left by the way. Only to find out that we had an imaginary "stain" on our mattress....mind you my husband took the mattress back to the store after he got home from work. :) The Store Manager confirmed after looking at the pictures that Customer Service forwarded to him said "I don't see that stain anywhere on the mattress". Based on the imaginary stain on the mattress that the Tech said was on it, the warranty was voided by the manufacturer. After further review what the Tech saw was a shadow from the ceiling fan! But...the manufacturer voided our warranty on the mattress. :0( Do yourself a favor don't call customer service....it IS a nightmare. They are rude, unprofessional and I have the emails to prove it. Buy your furniture from a company that actually believes that the customer comes first....has professional staff that cares about service after the sale....and most of all you feel comfortable with. I will in the future buy our furniture from the old mom and pop shop because they KNOW how to treat their customers. read more

Check the online prices first. This store is a rip off. I bought a sofa on Saturday. I went online on Monday to show a picture to a co-worker. The sofa online is $300 less expensive than in the store. They are giving me a run around about how they can do price match but then they have to charge me a higher delivery fee. We went to Ashley Furniture Store in York on Route 30 last night to look at couches and then today to buy the one we liked. Last night after dealing with a male staff who was being sarcastic and uncaring with his attitude and who told us we could get our couch there at their store brand new actually lied to us. He also was not pleased that we sat on the couch to try it out. We found this out when we went back today to purchase it. We had a female staff who didn't care that she was a snippy and pushy and who told us that they do not keep the new furniture there because the storage is so small so we would need to go to Harrisburg to pick up or pay $119 for delivery then argued with us about the price that we had pulled up online on my phone and showed it to her. We asked if we could take the floor model of course her answer was a big no. We now know why, if they sell the floor models they would have nothing but an empty store because they don't keep more in stock there. Then she called out the store manager who was made aware of this and she offered to take &1.00 yes one dollar off the couch price and have the couch shipped there for $79 but couldn't say when the couch would come in for pick up. Of course we said to shove their sale and walked out informing other customers that were coming into the store of what we just experienced. REALLY you people at Ashley really think you have a professional reputable business? Go sit on it on your heads idiots. You will never have our business and we already told many family and friends of your lousy staff and store. You people and your store are not even worth one point of a star rating but my phone will not let me post this without having a star marked so guess what the one star is a lie. read more

Were do I begin; this has been a nightmare. I purchased a sofa and loveseat from the York store. The communication amongst the employees was horrible. They told me to expect a call on "Tuesday" for a Wednesday delivery. 4 weeks later and no furniture. Drove to Harrisburg to pick up my furniture and it was damaged. They claim the damage could have been part of the move, yeahhhh NO! They asked that I lie to the warranty company to have it covered. Endless phone calls to careless people. I finally had $150 removed, well not yet. I also had to fuss with them about crediting the delivery, seeing that we picked it up ourselves. Here it is March and I am still dealing with this headache. I gave information to the girl Destiny, I don't know how many times in which she never would relay the message. The furniture needs to be sold in a warehouse! I have had better service at small warehouse furniture stores. NEVER again!!! SAD part is that I have a credit card with Ashley. I will keep it open for that sake of credit but I will NEVER in my life make a purchase from this store. I'd sit on inflatables before I'd buy another damaged couch for Ashley. read more

We usually like to look around on our own, which we were left to do and Jim checked on us only towards the end. We wound up buying online because it was a better discount but we're able to credit our salesman because of his help in the store. Would give to give them a zero stars. Went there at 8:50 on Saturday July 2 to look for a mattress and one of the foundations that move and all the doors were locked. Lights were on and saw 2 or 3 people walking around and hours stated till 9pm. So frustrating! Lost my business to Mattress Warehouse. read more

We bought a sofa and a loveseat from Ashley and it took them a month and a half to deliver it. Once we got it and had it placed in our basement I noticed a chemical-like odor emitting from it which never went away. I tried calling the store and had to leave a message - they didn't call me back so I called again and had to leave another message. Still waiting for a call back. We paid almost $1,700 for this furniture and it stinks! I will wait another couple of days for a call-back and some kind of resolution and then I am calling the Better Business Bureau. read more

Please save your money. We bought over $4K in furniture from the York store and also the warranty. Table arrived scratched, chair to table had a broken leg. Leather couch after 2 months began to sink. They fixed the chair, covered over the scratch with marker that we still have to fix. Called about couch and they initially re-padded. Two years later couch had small slit from screwdriver in back pocket. Well the slit got bigger so we called to use our "warranty" that we paid for. Several phone calls, pictures, visits to the store all denied. Save your money, I'd sit on milk crates before I would spend a dime at Ashley Ripoffs. read more

My husband and I visited Ashley HomeStore over MLK weekend. We were hesitant to go at first assuming the prices would be outrageous. We were pleasantly surprised to find out not only were the sale prices very good, but because we were "cash" (no financing) customers we would save even more. Our sales person was friendly and helpful without being over bearing. We picked out a slate gray couch with chaise that came with 2 accent pillows. We chose to arrange pickup at the warehouse in Harrisburg rather than pay over $100 to have it delivered. We were to pick up the couch the following Saturday. On Friday I received a call that the couch had come in damaged and that a new one would be ordered on Monday. We said that was fine and arranged to pick it up 2 weeks from then as the only convenient pickup hours were on Saturdays. This past Saturday my dad and I made the 40+ minute drive to Harrisburg hauling his trailer to load the couch. When we arrived the warehouse worker brought over the couch, cut open the packaging and began helping me to inspect it. He immediately found that the frame at the back of the couch was either bent or broken. I was devastated. He gave me the option of ordering another one or having a technician come to repair that one if I chose to take it home. I called my husband at home who was instantly upset. By that point I was rather upset as well having made my father waste his gas and morning to drive me there. The warehouse worker could see my frustration and excused himself momentarily. He came back and offered to order another couch and have it delivered for free. My husband and I were hesitant to order another at that point after having two come in damaged; I didn't know if that meant the sofa was poor quality or if the delivery/warehouse workers just unloaded the furniture without concern of damaging it. I asked if we could just get a refund and the gentleman said we would have to contact the store about it. I thanked him and left. On my way home my husband received a phone call from the store offering to process the refund over the phone. The caller then inquired if we still had the two accent pillows we took home initially and when she was told yes, told us that we would have to come into the store to return them and process the refund. That night we went to the store to get our refund and return the pillows. Not one attempt was made to keep the sale; we weren't asked what could be done to fix the issue. Everyone in the store was so welcoming while we were shopping but the moment we were displeased it seemed there was a rush to just get us out of there. Keep in mind neither my husband nor I ever yelled or got angry with any of the employees. We were actually hoping that they would offer to discount the couch a bit more and offer the free delivery in which case we would've kept the sale. I give props to the warehouse worker as he was the only one who seemed to actually go above and beyond his job description in trying to provide good customer service. Everyone else seemed to care less once we were unhappy. We intended on eventually returning as well to buy another sofa and bed frame, but Ashley HomeStore lost out on that possibility. read more

The staff at this Ashley are quite friendly -- almost to a fault! While they do give you your space, they always seem to be hovering, and sometimes we were made a little uncomfortable (you ever get the feeling you're being followed?). However, once we were ready to start talking, the experience was quite pleasant. We were looking for a living room set, and once we chose one, the salesperson was very helpful, although her knowledge of the actual product left us with a dilemma: she left off a piece when she calculated our total cost (which was just a few dollars OVER our MAX budget for the couch and table). After all was decided, she returned and advised she left off a piece and that the total was going up a couple hundred dollars! For a moment we were ready to walk out, but my wife really liked the couch, so we decided that we would go ahead. The sales rep returned a few minutes later and advised over and over that she was sorry -- it was quite clear that it was a true error and not a ploy. We were later advised that an additional percentage was being taken off our cost to help with the overrun of the additional/forgotten piece. All in all, the overall experience was good. We have returned and purchased an additional piece from Ashley on York, and would go again. We are also very pleased with the couch and tables - they are gorgeous and comfortable. The rep spent time listening to us and did make several very good suggestions. While I know they feel their process assists sales as well as gives the a great deal of flexibility, I do wish the pricing was more straightforward. Showing very high prices just so they can be reduced by the sales rep is just a bit too obvious, and forced us to have calculators out the entire time. read more

I went into ashleys looking for a sofa for my basement i was first met by hugette (im not sure how to spell it) i explained what i wanted and she showed me a few then told me about the promotion they had going on so i ran my credit and was declined after she told me i was declinded she said their was another option for me which was called acceptance now that was rent to own i didnt want to go to them because i had delt with something similar before and had a horrible experience and was just going to pay cash i asked if i could look around for a bit and then she hugette disappeared i had a a couple questions so i found another gentlemen i beleive his name was bob he refused to help me since i told him i was met by hugette when I first came in, up to this point i was enjoying my experience here but he was down right rude to me he then called this hugette woman over and she seemed irritated that i had aksed another sales perosn a question even though i had looked for her for a good 20 minutes. Needless to say after this hugette troed to sell me a protection plan and then becsuse pushy and smart when i declinded it since it wasnt that expensive of a product. .
