I was very surprised to see a previous review saying that a "Keratin treatments" was done to their hair at this salon due to the fact that they do not do this treatment at all. Melissa has flat out told me "No" to this process and that she does not recommend it for my hair. Also, Keratin treatments are NOT known to be in Dominican Hair Salons but more so at Brazilian hair salons. After all the damage caused to our hair during the summer months due to the sun, pool and beach I can always come back to this Salon and know that Melissa will bring life back to it. My hair is a little above my shoulders now and it looks better than it did when it was long! She was able to tell how my hair comes in kind of wavy/curly by looking at the roots (since it was straighter due to being weighed down before) and adjusted the cut accordingly. When I asked for bangs, even without knowing exactly how I wanted them to look, she gave me some that suit my face shape really well. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by one of the stylists who happened to be at the front desk. Lashelle took me back to wash my hair - she was so gentle and thorough, especially because my scalp is on the drier side during the winter. My hair was long and I wanted to cut a good chunk of it (several inches). When it came time for my haircut, she took her time and made sure it was exactly how I wanted it. She added the many layers, and took her time blowdrying and styling it to showcase the layers. When she turned me around, I wasn't expecting the overall hairdo as I just wanted a simple blowout. I went to Hannah, who at first was okay but at my second to last appointment did an awful job. Before my hair mistake color wise, somehow she turned my hair green. That was fixed at the time but I ended up with what looked like a giant skunk stripe in my hair when it went up. I went through the process of calling and asking for it to be fixed, which is already super awkward but I paid for a service with a certain expectation, and they also naturally have you go back to the person who made the mistake which is again, awkward. She wasn't able to, or willing to, fix my hair, just made it a little less drastic and advised me to wear my hair in a totally new and different style than my norm because it would hide her error. She also then refused to dry it unless I wanted to pay for a separate blow out, so it wasn't as obvious to me how little she fixed since I left with damp hair. To lessen my confidence in her abilities, she also got a call from a client, which she took in front of me, where the client complained that she had missed a good amount of spots whilst dying her hair a few days prior.
