This is my new local Publix and even though I have to drive further to get here as compared to places like Harris Teeter or Walmart, it's worth it! I've even converted my mother, who used to never consider Publix, to a consistent shopper. This Publix is well organized, bright and clean. I am able to get in and out fairly quickly because of this, They also have self checkout, which wasn't available at my local Publix in Atlanta. It's an efficiency win for me! I'm also a big fan of the Pub-subs, and like other Publix stores, this one does a good sub. They even have a designated eating area in this Publix, something I haven't seen before! I will still need to give their hot bar food a try. It's a bit tougher because their ready to eat options are limited, but I'm here enough, so it will happen eventually!

There is also a suprising amount of latitude given to make those decisions. A lot of other stores will micromanage even the smallest of things to the customers and ultimately their own dissatisfaction. I am not a big fan of self scanning aisles. However, they seem to have it right as it's located in front of customer service and they dedicate a seperate employee to rectify the problems that occur there. If it's super busy the customer service desk people will come over to assist as well. I have had a particularly fast and efficient person named Reva assist me many times. Give her a raise.

If an item is on sale, such as buy a certain number and get a certain number free.....the store will "conveniently" be short of one item so that you don't qualify for the sale and they charge you full price for the rest of said items. Secondly and more frustrating, we are now getting numerous EXPIRED items, or DAMAGED / OPENED items.....that they clearly could NOT sell in the store. This is NOT just happening to my groceries, but also to MANY of my neighbors in our nearby community. At first I thought nothing of it, but now after talking with many of my neighbors and it happening SEVERAL times...it's clearly a SCAM to make MORE PROFIT. I have posted this on several online forums and reported this to the Better Business Bureau providing them with dated receipts and photos of the goods in question. You should be ASHAMED of yourselves. There are plenty of nearby options other than this criminal establishment. You have now lost SEVERAL customers due to your petty schemes and scams.

Which is an indication that a lot of old school families go there, since balut is a controversial yet deep rooted delicacy of the east. In terms of herbs though, they seem to have more Chinese herbs, than Vietnamese or Korean which is a pattern I'm noticing with Asian grocers. Whatever ethnicity owns a certain grocery, carries more food items of that ethnicity, as opposed to others. It took me a while to figure that out. Just like any other Asian grocers, they have a ton of veggies, meat, snacks and even cute ceramics - bowls, plates, dipping sauce dishes, utensils, etc. They also have a neat sit down or to-go hotpot bar, similar to a buffet style bar (although it's served to you) so you can build your own meal. I found that super neat and convenient for people who just want a quick bowl but not all of the fuss of small plates, and the overall hectic experience of hot pot.
