Stores include name brands like Whole Foods, CycleBar, AT&T and Mattress Warehouse, as well as offers everything from fitness and beauty to contemporary and casual cuisine! You could spend a day here catching a spin class, having a meal, buying groceries, or at the salon! Alston Town Center looks neat, shiny, modern, and very clean and well-maintained. There is so much to see, buy, eat, explore at Alston Town Center - I would definitely recommend enjoying quality time there!!!

Good sized without being overwhelming but just be aware of traffic/right of way in navigating around this one. The Deets: I've visited The Shoppes At Holly Springs a few times. Mostly, my visits are to get some good Italian food at Bellini Italian Cuisine. This shopping center is of fairly good size but not huge and overwhelming. The traffic pattern can be a bit much, especially near the entrance/exit near GB Alford Hwy itself. You just have to watch who has right of way and wait your turn getting into the highway traffic (can be frustrating at later rush hour). The biggest draw to this center is the anchor of a Walmart Supercenter with pickup. Next would be the food options they offer (such as Bellini I already mentioned). A full directory is on their website and the pic I grabbed of the road signage indicates a lot of what is available there. The Shoppes At Holly Springs has a lot to offer if you want to navigate getting in and out of there in an ever growing part of the NC Triangle.

Conveniently located for access but being so spread out that you have to cross a multi lane road to get to all they offer is a bit of a drawback for me. But mostly, I like my shopping and dining experiences here thus far. The Deets: I travel over to Parkside Town Commons shopping center once in a while, mainly to enjoy their dining and beverage offerings which there is no lack of choice there to be sure. Beyond that, they have about everything to offer for shoppers including grocery shopping, sporting goods, health and spa offerings, medical/healthcare offices, shipping centers, phone stores, pet needs, hobby shops, and even a hotel on site (see their directory provided on their website). I like that everything is fairly spread out with ample parking to match the many shops. But it's so vast that you do have to cross a very busy multi lane road to get from one half of it to the other, which I consider a bit of a drawback. They have a nice location just off of Hwy 55 at the intersection with O'Kelly Chapel Rd (the multi lane road I mentioned earlier) that is easy to access from most of western Wake and southeastern Durham counties. Parkside Town Commons is a great go-to for many shopping and dining needs, I like heading there and enjoy what they have to offer.

Brixx Pizza, Harris Teeter, Hobby Lobby, Golf Galaxy, Target, Starbucks, Hickory Tavern, SportClips, SuperCuts, Five Guys and even a Marriott Courtyard hotel. For me, the standouts are the local restaurants but they have opportunities for groceries, haircuts, chain restaurants, local pharmacy/compounding among other shops and services. Decent amount of traffic here but not chaotic. The Deets: Being near Morrisville Market Shopping Center (MMSC), it is a "go-to" destination for me. Mainly, I am a fan of MMSC because they have a lot of restaurants such as locally run businesses Georgina's (a personal favorite for Italian, if you know me), Kinoko, Pho 919 as well as many chains such as Smithfield's Chicken 'N BBQ, Dunkin/Baskin, McDonalds just to name a few at the time of this writing. It also contains many other shops and service providers (a locally run pharmacy/compounding shop and an AutoZone come to mind). From Indian grocery store to haircuts and many other things to offer, it's a pretty well balanced shopping stop for Morrisville but not a large one so it's less chaotic than most shopping areas. I was not pleased when it put in a Walmart Neighborhood Market here a few years ago, replacing the huge hardware store it had in the space originally. I fully realize that most shopping centers need a good "anchor store" and a Walmart grocery would serve that purpose, but honestly I liked having a very large and well stocked hardware store near me instead. For me, I'd rather go to one of the other grocery stores near me such as Wegmans, Publix, Harris Teeter, Food Lion, etc. unless I needed to hit this Walmart grocery store for sheer convenience only. But it does get the traffic into MMSC so I guess that's doing the trick for the other businesses there. In all, besides losing out on a great hardware store they had before, I like MMSC mainly for the restaurant offerings, convenience, diverse services, and smaller size...I am a fan.

Royal Bakery Building is located on Hillsborough Street across from Meredith College. It is a busy…read moreplace so the parking garage and the parking lot stay pretty full. A lot of the shops at the mall have high turnover of customers so just keep circling if you need a spot. The elevator is near the parking garage spots. You will find Jasmine Mediterranean Bistro; Brick House Sports Bar; Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream; Lucky Tree ; Comedyworx and The Royal Bakery Banquet and Event Center.

It's written from a local's perspective whereas for me, I'm just one of hundreds of thousands (millions?) who've passed (or are currently passing) through Chapel Hill over the years. During our time in Chapel Hill, Glen-Lennox Shopping Center has been the small L-shaped strip mall we pass to get to and from UNC's main campus, downtown Chapel Hill, and Carrboro. To date, we've visited for two restaurants: 1. Jujube - Asian food, opened in 2005. Yelp page: https://www.yelp.com/biz/jujube-chapel-hill 2. Bin 54 Steak & Cellar - upscale steakhouse, opened in 2006. Yelp page: https://www.yelp.com/biz/bin-54-steak-and-cellar-chapel-hill-2 The fact that both Jujube and Bin 54 have managed to stick around for 17, 18-plus years should tell you something. You can read my reviews for each of those restaurants on their respective Yelp pages, but in a nutshell, I thought Bin 54 was phenomenal and Jujube was fine. During our visits, Glen-Lennox's parking lot has been mostly full. Aside from the restaurants, we've had no other reason to visit Glen-Lennox - for example, for the dry cleaner, eye doctor, beauty salon, Sherwin-Williams paint store, kitchen and bath store - since we already go to other places for that stuff or haven't needed those types of things/services. There's a Bank of America ATM here plus two drop boxes, one for USPS and the other FedEx. No UPS drop box though. We go to another shopping center down the road for the drop boxes. This shopping center has been around since 1950. For the history of this place, I refer you to the aforementioned Mr. H's review plus https://glenlennoxvision.com/, the current official website for this property. The banner at the top of the site says, "Established 1950, re-established 2020." I don't know what they mean by that, but apparently plans have been under way for years to redevelop this property into something much bigger. It looks to be a modern mixed-use development, like many that have sprung up across the country over the past couple decades. As it stands today though, Glen-Lennox to me is the small strip mall with two (successful) restaurants. From highway 54 (Raleigh Rd), the property does go farther back into the woods (north) with a combination of old and new homes and apartments plus a fairly new, five-story, glass office building at the corner of 15-501 (Fordham Blvd) and Glen Lennox Dr: the Industrious at The Gwendolyn coworking space. There are new trails around here too. The shopping center is located on 54 at 15-501 on the east side of Chapel Hill, close to the Durham border. The closest interstate exit is I-40 exit 273: NC 54 - Chapel Hill, Durham.

The Glen Lennox Shopping Center in Chapel Hill, NC has the honor of being the first suburban shopping center in Chapel Hill, NC and one of the first in the state after Cameron Village in Raleigh, NC. After WWII, the Glen Lennox Cottages were built for the returning GI's who were attending UNC. Due to the Glen Lennox Cottages being on the edge of town in the '50s there was a need for nearby retail and the captive audience made it very popular as well as its novelty, ushering in a new era of shopping. What was once the shopping destination in Chapel Hill in the '50s and '60s has now been eclipsed by the Glenwood Square Shopping Center, its younger sibling across the street, and all of the nearby shopping centers in the area. Despite the shortcomings, there is still a heartbeat in this shopping center. Currently all businesses in the center are in the service sector, which fills a niche in the area. There are restaurants, a kitchen and bath renovation shop, an optometry practice, a tanning salon, a beauty salon, Time Warner Cable center, and an investment practice. While the optical store may appear to be retail, in reality it is the feeder store to the optometry practice housed within. One of the differentiating features of this strip mall is that it was built with a second-story to house offices. In the center of the strip is the walk-up to the offices called the Lennox Building Offices; over time, a handicap-accessible entrance was added on the side of the building. Among the nondescript offices are medical practices as well as Amy's Alterations. Near Amy's office suite there is a small seating area that looks like it came out of a Mad Men set. This shopping complex, unlike other shopping centers built around the same time, has been capable of adapting to the changes over the decades and still draws people in. One of the factors that helped this property not decay was its affiliation with the ever popular Glen Lennox Cottages, plus the charm of this place lays mostly with its '50s Americana appeal.
