The worst restaurant ever! Ruined my whole trip in Salzburg. Well, I have made a reservation via…read moretheir email address. In about half an hour I've received a confirmation where my reservation was confirmed. So I thought that a birthday surprise for my lovely girlfriend was partially ready a part from the main gift. The next day when we came to restaurant the hostess or whoever this woman was said that they have never received our reservation. Well, I had that confirmation with me and I've showed it to her. So she left without saying anything. In about 10 minutes some of their workers comes to us and says that international guest are not welcomed here and that we have to leave the restaurant immediately. When I've asked him to explain me in English why they are not letting us in, because we have a reservation for today and there is a plenty of space. His answer was that they won't talk to me in English, because it is Austria and they speak German only. After no explanation he started to push me and my girlfriend to the exit. WTH!! At the end of the day it's called the Austrian hospitality. Ruined my girlfriends birthday and the whole day for us.

World of Asia is a relatively new all you can eat restaurant in Salzburg. It is a total (and kinda…read morerude) copy of Cooking Khan but with an extra bit of quality and style. You pick raw ingredients and a sauce and get your plate served after everything has been cooked for you in an open kitchen. The products are always fresh and the selection is huge. The interior is elegant but unfortunately not in perfect condition any more. Reservations are necessary especially in the evenings. Good quality at a premium price! it's worth it!

First and oldest Chinese restaurant in Salzburg. I had to rely on their English menu which barely…read morehad photos but if you have WiFi access, check their website and IG. The dishes look way more tempting compared to what we ordered. We ordered from the daily lunch special. Three choices of either beef fried egg noodles (lo mein), crispy duck and rice or vegetarian. For an additional charge, you can add on spring roll, soup of the day (sweet and sour) or salad. We got the beef fried noodles and added the spring roll. Then got the duck and ordered the won ton soup from the original menu. Looking at my photo time stamp, we got here at 1pm and left close to 3pm. It was lunch time but we got seated quickly without a reservation. Took them forever to come to take our order and over an hour to serve us. From asking for an English menu to requesting chop sticks, everything took forever. No kidding, I literally took a Power Nap at the table. It's probably a combination of short staff and European culture but don't expect to be in and out. You would think the kitchen would be able to crank out the lunch specials quickly if majority of the patrons are ordering from that menu. Not the case. The food was mediocre. The crispy duck was more of a sticky hoisin char sui sauce. The egg noodles were no different than US Panda Express with Mongolian beef. It's a decent size for lunch portions. Two others in our group ordered the vegetarian fried noodles with vegetables but it looked to be sauce-less. The other ordered the mince tofu. These were larger portions from the regular menu.

Now, for full disclosure, though contrary to my fat man's appearance, I'm not generally a huge fan of Asian buffets. There's just something about the mass produced food sitting out there under the food lamps that turns me off I guess. Coincidentally, the basic food selection seems to span the globe as well, be it in the States or in Austria. The basic ambiance here is nice though, clean and modern. In addition to their buffet at additional cost they have a Mongolian grill. We did not partake in that portion, but it looked good. A bit pricey in my opinion, but Salzburg is clearly a tourist city, so I'm sure it's competitive to other similar joints. I'd return again if in need, but I'd certainly not go out of my way to do so.

Dessert is donuts, ice cream, nothing special, as you know it from Chinese buffet places all around the world. Special congrats to the chefs for the Korean BBQ which they paid lots of attention to (Was delicious and something to look at as well, see pictures I attached.)

I disagree. I mean, what do you expect from a buffet that offeres fresh scampi, beef filet and a (small) variety of sushi for less than $20? It's not the Ritz, but I went there again and again, and liked it better that the World of Asia that the other critic suggests. I managed to sleep in a hotel next door to the World of Asia (which restricts how often you may pick scampi or filet) - and still drove the 20+ mins to the Huy. That should say it all. Whatever you chose, you will be well fed for a small amount of money.
