I went here today (6/26/26) and was able to find everything I needed! They have such a great variety of products, and the woman who checked me out was incredibly kind. She even helped me find the items I was looking for. They carry so many authentic foods and ingredients that I used to eat and cook with when I lived in China, and it brought back so many wonderful memories. It honestly made me feel so nostalgic. To the people in the reviews saying it "smells"... that aroma is from authentic Chinese ingredients and spices. If you're not familiar with them, it might be different than what you're used to... but that's part of what makes this place so special! I just finished eating everything I bought, and it was absolutely delicious. I'm so full and so happy with my visit! Asia market is a smaller Asian grocery store. They have a smaller variety of Asian products, They had a lot of the snacks we wanted. They carry a good amount of products however it is just a really small market. We enjoyed all of our snacks that we purchased and loved the recommendation to try the mango ice cream. Back during Covid I went to this store expecting fair prices on face masks. The male cashier had a box of masks for over $40. Normally the same masks would have been like $20 on Amazon. I paid it out of desperation and limited access to masks....remember it was during Covid. Some may ask why write a review years later. I write my review because I never went back to this store and will never shop at any of these Asian owned businesses. They don't care about treating people fairly. And it's not the first time that I've been treated unfairly in an ethnic store like this one ....for NO reason. read more

The selection here leaves a lot to be desired, and maneuvering around the store is a bit of a hassle. There is a nice selection of bulk boba shop supplies which is potentially useful, but there is very little else worth mentioning that you couldn't get from Sari-Sari or Tim's nearby in a much more convenient fashion. Shanghai shopping! This Asian market is a bit cluttered, a bit shop worn, and dusty. It's full of packaged spices and noodles and other Asian ingredients, but it just seems that a lot of their merchandise has been sitting on the shelves, or on a ship, or in a warehouse for eternity before it arrived here. Stuff doesn't look all too fresh. If someone would dust, it'd go a long way. The aisles are cramped, and unopened crates of merchandise abound on the aisles, not put away. It makes me feel a little claustrophobic like I'm gonna knock over some stack of priceless products. The clerk was completely aloof. He was on the phone arguing the whole time I was in there. I wasn't acknowledged. They didn't have what I was looking for, or have anything I couldn't live without. Parking is fairly easy. It's in a strip shopping center. It's sort of the other end of the Spice Road international market strip on Wurzbach. I'm none too bonkers about this international grocer. There's better options in the 'hood. read more

This market reminded me of the infamous Ranch 99 market on the west coast. It is huge and covers as much as it can in regards produce, meats/seafood, groceries, baked goods, and home goods. Aisles are stocked and towards the registers, most floor space is covered with groceries. I was happy to find bean sprouts, bok choy, and cilantro - fresh and at a decent price compared to the normal supermarket. A bag of bean sprouts here was a $1+.... at the supermarket $3+! There are live tanks of tilapia/seafood, not my thing, and a large meat section- think every organ/part of animal sold too. I was able to buy my panko, mochiko, ube flavoring , and krupuk here. They have Indo seasonings yay! , but unfortunately did not have my nasi kuning (yellow rice) mix at the time. Looked like most of the buns/pastries were sold out. Noticed some plants for sale outside and lots of lucky bamboo inside. To the far left of the store as you enter, there's a food vendor/ teas/boba stand- not sure what he all sold, but noticed a customer was very happy with her drink. When I got home, I immediately prepared egg rolls...now, I haven't made them in years! So it was fun and yummy to be able to make them again. I'll be back! Not impressed. By the freezers and some others areas a little cluttered. In the freezers some frozen foods were not organized ...I was looking for spring rolls and I asked 2 people and they directed me to where they might be, I had to dig or move items to look for it. I didn't find any. They have a good selection of dumplings. They also have a good selection of ramen and other shelved foods. The pictures shown are old ones. read more

Despite the obvious namesake, Asia Market is probably the least versatile of the few Asian specialty markets in San Antonio (#1). In just about any other city in America, this market would the defacto standard for all things Asian grocery. It is pretty adequate overall for generic stuff, but any need for specific brands is way harder to come by here. And for something that is my least favorite, I'd say 3 stars is pretty generous. Where the other markets have the edge is quite simple: more inventory, more selection, better service, price and even a better layout. It's hardly a small store, but somehow the variety seems to skew toward the more well known / generic brands rather than anything niche from the motherland. The prices are exactly a bargain either; which is especially true for their sauces or refrigerated items. Do they have enough to keep most people at bay? Yes. The other stores have such a robust selection that it's hard to keep this one in any constant rotation. Service is not really a thing here and the parking is limited, despite being in a strip mall. This is my go to grocery for a number of goods and I really love coming here. They always have really excellent freezer stock.Noodles of all kinds,Lots of baõ buns,dumplings,seafood,special chip flavors,Aloe beverages,tea,coffees,candy, spices,Boba tea supplies,nice produce,duck eggs,dried goods and a wide selection of bean paste,tofu,chili,hot pot supplies and Szechuan products if you like that Mala flavor,like I do. Although we mostly make our own chili oil, you can always reliably go with Lao Gan Ma spicy chili crisp if you don't have the time or knowledge of how. We put it on everything from eggs to dumplings,rice rolls you name it. Pro tip:To kick it up add a tsp of prickly ash oil. It will be electrifying,savory and delicious. Overall this is a wonderful little gem and it's been my go to place to browse,I been doing curbside since February of 2020 but will go here since it's a small place and they are clean and keep good policies on mask.Never crowded unless it's a Chinese holiday. This place is a true to form family business. My father and grandfather & brother also worked side by side at the family barbershop the way this family trio does at this Asian grocery.The matriarch is always present in the background steadily tending to the produce area.Usually the men work the register or do stocking.You know,keeping things moving. Not sure what any of the other reviewers have a bee in the bonnet about because this family has only ever been polite and otherwise sweet to us.I frequent here. Been a lot of places in the world and I found a market that has fresh crabs that are fresh. They are actually moving and that's how it's supposed to be not like some markets around here. I recommend this to anybody who likes to eat live seafood, and it taste good and it's right Not a box you open up and stick in the oven. This is a great shop. They had a large amount of products for purchase that ranged to just about anything you need! Beware that when I went today I was being followed by a man dressed in a light blue button up tucked into black slacks. After I selected my items I went to the line and he got right behind me and started shaking a little plastic container with candy in it continuously. I went straight to my car after making a purchase and he never came outside making me believe that he was an employee there. I read the other reviews about being followed and thought hey maybe the guy got fired or something. It would seem I was wrong. It's a good place to shop for ingredients but you will more than likely be followed and watched. It's safe to say I won't be coming here again. read more

Being new to the SA area, I would kill to fix me up some decent Chinese food. Found this little gem that sells a great variety of asian snacks, foods, and produce. Let's be honest, this is a SMALL family owned store. And from the looks of it, one of the very few asian supermarkets around the area. Things are going to expensive. It's a part of supporting a mom and pop store. They have a whole section dedicated making milk tea. If you're someone who loves tapioca aka boba/bubble milk tea it's a heaven. They carry Tea-Zone which is used by a lot of tea shops. Lady running the place is hella mean and rude. Overall a decent experience and might return for groceries. read more

After reading the below reviews, I assumed that this place would be my go to Asian market in San Antonio. I had finally ran out of my favorite Vietnamese foods, and I was in need of a restock. I was spoiled living in Oklahoma City with an amazing Vietnamese Grocery. I went into Asian Market assuming I could get all/most of the things that I loved there: Japanese chocolate covered almond, MAMA Ramen (Pork flavor), and dumplings. Much to my dismay, many of these items weren't available. The candy section was quite sparse with only a few types of chocolate covered sticks, but they did not have any chocolate covered almonds (or any nuts in general). They did have MAMA ramen, but they only had Shrimp Tom Yum flavor. We decided to try a few as opposed to a whole box. There were no dumpling- only frozen steamed buns. The redeeming qualities of this market is the seafood and vegetables. They had lobster for $12 a pound, which is about $3 cheaper than HEB. They also had whole fish, crabs, and crawfish. The crawfish definitely made my Cajun heart happy. We decided to pick up a few crabs, which were ONLY $3 a lb. There is also a bunch of fresh Asian vegetables. So unless you need specific veggies or some seafood, I wouldn't stop in. I am still on hunt for an all encompassing market. read more

Nice sized market that is close to the casa. I was instantly taken back to Canal street in NYC when I walked in. They have the same smell of dried commodities as the little shops in Chinatown. I was able to get almost all of the items for my Tom Yum Soup and General Tso's Chicken. Out of the three places on Wurzbach I went to they had the freshest and largest selection of produce. I admit, this asian grocer has everything it has to offer, from fresh produce, instant noodles, meat section, ready-to-eat food, etc. But, most of the items are way overpriced. I am not kidding!! This asian grocer is the most expensive that I have ever been, and I have been to a lot of asian grocers across the states. Some ready-to-eat items, such as bakery and asian desserts, are moldy; an indicator that they have been on the shelf for too long, and the employees are too bothered to throw them out.
