The front view of this college.

This college is useless for beginner. The boss - miss Van Pham - The instructions are not good. I know this school through my friend. But I am very disappointed with the experiences here. It is recommended that people should not come here to study.

The counselors in this school talk inconsistently with customers, and also show discomfort to customers

I mean, that's a good deal, worst case it's just hair, I'm a cheap date - let's go! :) In both instances they were professional and both times I was beyond pleased with their work! The place is chill, just a bunch of people learning the trade and happy to talk about their experiences. $5 to the shop, $10 for tip, and I'm getting as good of a cut as I would elsewhere for less than half the cost, plus I'm helping someone out! I love it when everyone wins, and I'll certainly be back again soon! :)

To Preston's response…read more There was ABSOLUTELY NO MISUNDERSTANDING. Sherry and Jume told my daughter EXACTLY the same thing it's an advanced class and she would have to pay EXTRA! Regardless of my daughter having her license, she was poorly taught, she would have to ask the teachers to be taught, myself, my husband and my daughter had to go in to talk to Sherry about her not being taught and Jume was a part of the conversation. Her teaching lasted 2 WEEKS! Then the teachers got lazy again and she would have to ASK to be taught. Her getting her license has nothing to do with the school but everything to do with me teaching her! Your comment really upset me, I get you're trying so hard to keep your Integrity, but it doesn't negate the fact that the teachers are lazy!

My experience with Top Line Beauty College was extremely disappointing, largely because of one staff member, Kim. She often acts as though she runs the entire school and creates an uncomfortable environment for students. Over the years, I have heard similar concerns from numerous coworkers, classmates, and colleagues who felt they were treated unfairly or disrespectfully. Students come to beauty school to learn, grow, and build confidence in a supportive environment. Instead, many feel intimidated and afraid to speak up. A learning environment should encourage students, not make them feel fearful or anxious. Based on my experience and the experiences shared by others, I would not recommend this school. The negative atmosphere created by certain staff members overshadows what should be a positive educational experience.

So you can imagine the shock of walking into this place. The price online was different than what they told me. Twice as much. It was a very hot day and I asked, "do you have AC". They turned on a fan on and turned it toward me. They didn't have a big pedicure chair to sit in where you put your feet down into a bath of water. They had a movable thing that they sit on and then I put my feet on it. I also put my feet in a bucket of water below me. The first girl that worked on me couldn't even cut my toenails with the clippers. My nails are not difficult to cut. An older gentleman had to take over and he pinched me with the clippers. Luckily. no skin was broke. The instructor was standing there when I said, "Ouch" and she didn't even blink or even apologize. This gentleman didn't even know how to put the nail polish on so when I got home, I had to cover my nails with more polish. Not sure if it's worth going back to this place. I would pay double the price at my nail person and get better service and not have to drive so far. I was the only person getting my nails done and there was a gentleman getting a five dollar haircut. No other customers. That should've told me something. There were quite a few supervisors just sitting around and eating. One last thing, I don't know how this the school gets accredited. I think if the health department walked in, they would be closed.

Your head is their practical (good or bad) that's your risk! These students & graduates already aren't professionals. Prices here are super low :) $4 for hair cuts, $10 for color. I got my hair highlighted for $15. (bleach&toned) They did a pretty good job, getting it to be super blond on the bottom, but on the top it wasn't left on for long enough so it's kinda orangey-brown. but not so bad. It probably would've came out the way I wanted if we had more time, but it was wayyy past over due their closing time which was 5pm on a saturday. The lady that did my hair stayed till 7 where she was the only one left. So that's nice of her to stay back and not rush to go home at 5. Tip: Cash Only

She said it didn't hurt and didn't leave scarring so she was happy. The facial was only $12. I got the oil treatment. It included hair wash, oil treatment, another hair wash and blow drying for only $6! Total time it took was 30 min or so. My cousin got her hair straightened using the Japanese system and she had shoulder length hair but even so, that took 5 hours. not kidding. They had to wash her hair 3 times and straighten it about 2 times. I love her hair now, its nice and smooth, only downside is that she can't get her hair wet for 3 days. =/ yuck. Hair straightening cost $40 for her hair. For longer hair it would be about $60. I think i'll come here again every month to get the oil treatment. It's such a good deal and left my hair smooth.

When it comes to communication between teachers and students, it hasn't been very consistent. One instructor will say one thing, while another says something different, which makes it confusing. The grading is also inconsistent, as each instructor seems to grade differently. At the beginning of the semester, we weren't given a clear rubric for how we would be graded. Now that we are close to graduating, points are being taken off for very small details that were never emphasized before. For example, labeling the cups for the products we use--this is now required in abbreviation form, but we were never taught how to do that earlier in the program. Usually, the dispensary person would take care of that. I hope the program can become more organized, with clear expectations for both day and night classes. Right now, it feels like the night class does not receive as much attention or support. Overall, I hope things improve. However, if I had the chance to choose again, I would consider a different school because I don't feel like I learned everything I needed to know.
