I wish I had chosen a different academy, and I encourage others to do thorough research before enrolling. The true character of a business is revealed when concerns arise and mistakes happen, and based on my experience, Fox Microblading Academy fell short in several key areas. From the start, I felt pressured to leave a positive review before even receiving what I paid for as a student. After looking further into other reviews, I noticed that I was not alone in this experience--several others have shared similar concerns. The sign-up process is handled by Alan, the business owner, but once payment is made, all communication is handed off to Maritza, who oversees the training. Alan's role is mostly limited to IT matters, meaning there is little long-term accountability or direct support from him. This structure left me feeling misled about the level of involvement and guidance I would receive. The training itself was extremely disappointing and did not provide the hands-on experience I was expecting. While I anticipated learning practical skills, Maritza controlled most of the procedure on my model, leaving me with very little opportunity to gain real experience. My role was reduced to filling in a few lines, which did not give me the confidence I needed to move forward in this field. Additionally, my model was unhappy with the final shape--something that was outside of my control. We are looking for removal which is an extra cost to fix the problem!!!! Maritza's teaching approach did not align with what I would expect from a professional instructor. When I raised concerns, I did not feel I received constructive guidance. Instead, her responses came across as defensive rather than supportive. In my experience, a great educator should help students grow, but I did not feel that level of mentorship in this program. After multiple attempts to address my concerns through email, I received no response for over two months. When I eventually disputed the charge with my bank, I was shocked to see that in her response to my financial institution, Maritza characterized me unfairly, making accusations that I believe were completely unjustified. Another issue I encountered was the discrepancy between the advertised learning environment and the actual setup. The academy has since moved to a much smaller location, but their promotional materials still depict a more polished space. This difference was disappointing, as it did not match my expectations based on their marketing. For $2,499, I expected high-quality education, mentorship, and ongoing support. Instead, I left feeling underprepared and unsupported. **There are many other academies that provide structured training, hands-on experience, and continued mentorship--essential factors for success in this industry. I just took the microblading 3 day course with Maritza. This is a good early beginners course. I feel A little lost about how to go about doing things now that I am certified, but it takes time, and patience. Don't expect to be making money right away! Learned that from Maritza Fox herself. She did a good job preparing our goodies bag. It literally has everything you need which I am appreciative for... I mean, it was close to $3000 so it better have all this stuff, but still. I've heard some horror stories about "trainers" just ripping people off, but don't worry, this isn't that place.... You get what you pay for here. Nothing less, nothing more. Be prepared for maybe some language barriers. I feel like Maritza didn't hear me the first time when I told her I was left handed, and I had to repeatedly tell her why I was struggling. Also, I don't feel like she was prepared to teach a left-handed artist to be completely honest, which sucks for me! But nope, they were ALL sooo nice and kind! She asked my concern about my eyebrows and I let her do her magic! She had 2 students with her who was very eager to learn. It was a more intimate classroom of only a few students, which I prefer because you get more time with the instructor. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This academy has the worst customer service I've ever received. The boss Maritza is the rudest person I've come across. I was asked to send a $50 deposit for an appointment to be a model on Dec. 12th 2021. They changed the start time 4 times without any disregard to the fact that I don't live in the area I would be commuting to receive the procedure. On the day off the appointment they called to change the start time once again, I landed a job interview that day and had to cancel. Maritza called me and refused to give me my deposit back even though they claimed it would be refunded the day of the procedure because I could no longer keep my appointment. They never said there was a cancelation fee of any kind throughout our conversations. Upon enrolling, I was given a tour and a very thorough rundown of what they teach at Fox. This is my story. It's NOT just a review but a story that I will continue to tell. I am a licensed and certified microblading artist. I came to Maritza with so many questions. You're not only here to learn but you will develop a relationship with Maritza too. She makes you feel comfortable, confident, she makes you feel IMPORTANT. I've never been so excited to get up every morning to come to class. I love coming back. The class is intimate so you get a lot of one on one time with Maritza. You learn several techniques, multiple ways to map brows, pigments, color theory, marketing, information on everything!!! Now, I want to take a moment to mention about the other staff here especially her husband. I had so many questions about the business side of this. He listened to me and inform me in any way he could. Both Maritza and her husband are very knowledgeable about everything. Anyone can tell they're both genuine who truly cares about your future. I am thrilled and beyond amazed by how AMAZING my brows look after getting micro bladed by MARINA. i work and do hair at salon ambiance right next store and when this place opened up i was excited! I got my brows microbladed about 5 years ago and they have faded sooooo Much. So it was time for new brows. I scheduled an appointment with MARINA and wow, i am totally pleased and sp happy! It only took about 2 hours total and she made me feel comfortable and not anxious i even fell asleep! I don't know where to start but all I can say is that I am very happy and satisfied with the chose I made which is choosing Fox Microblading Academy. It took me a couple months to choose the right training, there was so many academy that stood out because of their marketing strategy, some were cheesy by the way, and some trainers had beautiful talented techniques, then I realized how some of the big school, just to name a couple, Phibrows and World Microblading, were pricey for only a 1-3 days training. How could anyone, especially has no knowledge and is new to Microblading, can really learn and grasp with such a short amount of training time. So then I was lucky enough that a friend for of mine referred me to Fox Microblading and that's where I met my master trainer, Maritza, such an amazing wonderful being. Her beginners' 5-days course is super reasonable price and Maritza herself was so informative and attentive to her students. She really took the time and made sure we learn and master all the fundamentals. And the great thing is that the school offers a retake course for free if you need to refresh and also continuous support. I realized that you need the proper fundamental training before you can really master any skilled talented technique that you see out there, unless you were a natural born artist, and it's all about hands on an practice after that to perfect your skills. Well first, I'd like to state that this program is only a five day program and that kind of explains why you aren't guaranteed great brows. However, my brows aren't even that good... the technician was trying her very hardest to meet my needs, but she just wasn't getting what I was saying due to a language barrier, and the instructor had her own idea of how my brows should be. One of my brows is rounded at the front, with a rounded arch, and the other brow is squared at the front with a prominent arch. I don't know much about microblading, as far as the education and certification goes, but I imagine you aren't supposed to go over the same spot so many times considering you're cutting the skin and here supposed to be "micro" cuts and going over the same cuts 10 times doesn't result in micro cuts... Again, I don't completely blame the technician, just because of the language barrier - she really did try her hardest. The first brow that was done was perfect! And has no pain and no scabbing even after a 4 days. But the second brow they did just didn't match. The technician couldn't understand me and kept going over the same spot soooo many times so I began scabbing by the night time (yes, I took care of my brows and did everything exactly as explained) you can see how dark the rounded one is in comparison to the square one - that's the one that was cut so many times and was just excruciating. My original review was 5 stars because at the end of the procedure, the instructor makes you sit down and hovers over you and makes you give a glowing review on google, yelp, and Facebook in order to get a discounted service, so please take all reviews with a grain of salt. read more

Maritza and Bilge did my eyebrows together because I went in as a model (I had my eyebrows done prior by someone else). There was nothing about the experience that was negative at all. Maritza and her staff are very professional and warm. I felt completely comfortable the entire time. Maritza talked me through the entire procedure. From how clear and concise she was, I knew she was a complete expert! She also provided complete after care instructions, which was greatly helpful. I jokingly asked her if, while they we were at it, if they could go ahead and give me a boob job too. We all laughed. But, the comfort and care that they took care of me with, could not have been better. So professional, but made me completely comfortable. It was a little cool in their office so they even provided me with a nice, snuggly blanket. I highly recommend Fox Microblading for anything you need or want to have done.
