A bit disappointed with the food here. I came with my parents for lunch and although it was busy we got a seat right away. My parents had pho, but I had a rice plate with beef and some shrimp spring rolls. 2/5 Bo luc lac- the meat was not tender, but was cooked well done. Too well done. And there was no salt and pepper and lime side sauce. The veggies were on the heavy side. It's a no from me. 3/5 Spring rolls- decent and petty standard The entree should've been so much better. Folks, this is one of few restaurants where you could get something like this and let me tell you the catfish is huge. The meat is tenderly delicious. Arrived around 1200 noon on a Saturday and the restaurant was already packed with early arrivers. By the time we got our meal, it had emptied out. I ordered Bun with shrimp, grilled pork and egg rolls. It had 2 tasty fried egg rolls, 2 pieces of shrimp and a super small portion of grilled pork. The protein had good flavor, but the portion size was so sad. I tried my friends Bun Bo Hue and the broth was tasty with the perfect amount of spiciness. Service was okay; water weren't refilled. The best thing was the Grilled Pork Banh Mi. Fresh toasty bread and crispy cucumber, jalapeño and cilantro. It had more meat inside than in my Bun dish, which was disappointing. Pay at the register. They had pretty homemade pastries, jello cakes, and crispy pork for sale on the counter. Would likely explore other Vietnamese restaurant prior to coming here again, but would be interested in trying other dishes on the menu I the future. read more

I have been to many of Vietnamese restaurants and this one only came to a very average level. I always always order fresh spring rolls - and these had tofu in them but it had strange flavor and was dry. The sauce that came with it just tasted like soy sauce...(suppose to be peanut sauce...) Was passing through town headed back to KC so the wife and I ordered a couple sandwiches and some egg rolls and nearly 90 min later I show up to find out that one of the sandwiches was not made for some (still unknown) reason. However we were still charged the full amount, despite the employee attempting to reassure me the amount for the sandwich had been refunded from the total. After I asked for a new receipt showing the updated total, the employee seemed to think it was our responsibility to work with DoorDash to get a refund..? So at that point I left the food and informed the employee he could keep the incomplete order and we will be disputing the transaction w our card company. So we went to Pho KC instead and enjoyed a wonderful meal for which we did not have to jump through any hoops. read more

Service was good - polite and prompt server who brought us everything we needed. I was in a group of 5 and we came in on Monday for lunch. I ordered the B12, which was a five spice chicken vermicelli bowl with egg rolls. Food was delicious and they provided plenty of spices/sauces for us to add to our meals. Pricing was average and portions were large enough for me to take home some leftovers! Atmosphere isn't particularly quiet or intimate, but it was perfect for lunch with friends and coworkers. Third best pho tai in the country. I travel for a living and get pho everywhere. I have had pho at two places in Wichita and although I did love Le's Noodles, this place is even better. If you like savory more than sweet, this pho is for you. It's got the nice sweet aroma of cinnamon but not the cover up taste of overpowered sweetness. I got this to go, and I LOVE when places put the raw meat in a separate bag, which they did. The Togo broth isn't full to the top which makes it easy to eat without needing a bowl. The large version + .50 cent Togo tax was 10.75, which may be pricier than normal I will willingly pay again. The amount of noodles and fresh beef is so worth it. If I wasn't in love with this two people could share this as an appetizer. Super fresh vegetables. Go you, Asian Bistro! read more

The pho broth had a sting, probably from too much coriander seeds. It wasn't aromatic nor flavorful. A few pieces of steak was cut thin and then all of a sudden I get a big chunky piece that was chewy and inedible. Decor could use some help. Service was adequate. One of my favorite places to go for Vietnamese food in Wichita! Location-wise, this place is a little far out from where I live. As it is in the southeast part of town, it is currently difficult to get to with all the construction going on off of Kellogg and Webb. However, this place is worth the drive! The prices of their dishes are reasonable compare to other local authentic Vietnamese restaurants. They also use fresh vegetables for their dishes with their herbs giving off nice fragrances to their dishes. My favorite dish from this restaurant is called "banh uot" (or L-7 as I order it off the menu). The dish consists of soft rice cakes (like large flat noodles) with grilled lemongrass pork, fried eggrolls, and sliced Vietnamese ham. It comes with a generous portion of traditional Vietnamese sweet and sour sauce (nuoc mam) that goes well over the entire dish! This is my favorite dish to eat here and I don't think I could order anything else and highly recommend it! Service at the restaurant, however, is a little on the slow side. My friend and I waited maybe 30mins before our food came out, and watching other tables get their food is so painful to watch! Ordering carry-out is of no issue, however the employees tend to not tell you how long it will take for your food to to be ready. Regardless, this is one of my favorite places to eat at in Wichita! Thrilled to have a few vegetarian choices, the Bun Bi Chay and Bun Xao Chay were both tasty. I like the Xao a little better, it reminds me of the shaky tofu that Lemongrass used to have. I still miss their recipe with the peanuts on top and more generous with the fresh chopped veggies. read more

I believe they recently changed ownership, and the new owners are just as friendly and attentive as the old. This is a hit & miss place. I had their Hu Tieu Nam Vang (clear noodles) 4 times & 2 times were Ok-good, the other 2 times were interesting. Their Banh Canh Cua (Udon Noodles with crab) was so bad, we took a bite & just left. And we are not picky eaters. We were there again today & their Hu Tieu was plain, had 2 slices of meat, 2 shrimps & 2 slices of liver for each large bowl. The broth had no Hu Tieu taste whatsoever. Pretty disappointed. They need to be more consistent. Overall, this place is OK but I wouldn't say Authentic Vietnamese food. I personally like Saigon Bistro more. read more

Taking over the site of the now defunct Grasshopper restaurant Asian Bistro serves up high quality Vietnamese food. The menu is quite extensive and the primary language is Vietnamese, which is always reassuring, however they have kindly included english subtitles to all the dished explaining the ingredients. Most of the dishes are Vietnamese they do however have other Asiatic cuisine represented. For example what I had for lunch that day Korean BBQ. The meal was about 8-12 pieces of what looked like flank steak with the bone still in, a large serving of rice, a sort of dipping sauce, a few slices of cucumber and a soup. I will start with the soup, which I didn't really care for. That being said there are actually very few soups I do actually like so it's hard for me to condemn it. Moving on to the main part of the dish the beef. I expected it to be hard and chewy just from previous experiences with that thin of steak, and was happily surprised to find it was neither. It had been marinated and was extremely flavorful. Overall it was a great place to eat though next time I will defiantly be trying one of their actual Vietnamese dished. read more

The server seem to be unprofessional and rude, they even charge $1 for a togo order because they uses the container to pack your food ( just $1 not a big deal for me but it a huge NO for me, never been to any restaurant charge a togo container) , the noodle broth like waterless, not really feel like before, the pork sandwich was hard , pork was tasteless . There are some facets of Asian cuisine that may be lacking in Wichita, but Vietnamese is certainly not one of them. In fact, Asian Bistro is about as Asian-fied as you can expect for this city. Largely Asian dining population? Check. Asian writing on the menus? Check? Asian packaged treats by the counter? Oh yes. Half of the menu is split between bahn mis and pho, so I ordered the house varieties of each. The bahn mi was amongst the best I ever had, layering flavor upon flavor upon flavor, featuring brisket, ginger, carrots, and cilatro amongst other things that was a pure flavor experience in my mouth that I wanted to keep going. There was a reason why they offered so many of these sandwiches, and it was because they were f'n awesome. The pho, too, was a bastion of authentic flavors, featuring tripe amongst the standard meatballs and brisket, not only flavoring the already very flavorful broth, but really putting to use what we would normally consider the garbage parts of the cow. It wasn't always the kind of thing you looked forward to eating, but it flavored the broth excellently, which is really the goal of excellent pho. There's no doubt that Asian Bistro should be considered amongst the best Vietnamese the city has to offer, but why conform oneself to simply "Asian"? This place is pure Vietnam in a nutshell, and we should love them for it. read more

I have eaten here or ordered to go at least once a week in the past 2 months. I LOVE this place!! If you're really into Vietnamese food, and especially if you're Vietnamese, you should definitely give this place a try. Their Banh-Mi Dac Biet/Thit Nuong (French Baguette Sandwiches Special/bbq pork) are the best and at at $3.50 a pop, you can't lose. They also have a special menu (just in Vietnamese) and it's Vit Tiem, egg noodles with duck, is almost perfect. Perfect is my mom's recipe,but sadly, she lives 1,500 miles away. I also love their Bun (rice vermicelli) which you can get with egg rolls, thit nuong (bbq pork), shrimp, or combo. Their pho is wonderful, the broth very light and the noodles slightly undercooked coming out, just the way I like it. It's not as good as To Chau's pho, but it's still great pho. The prices are very reasonable as well - $8 or less for most dishes. There is also a military discount of 10%. Great food and military friendly - gotta love it! read more

Besides the owner's daughter being confused in what we order and who is paying for what, we had quite a pleasant experience. I just had to try some of their popular dishes! Sadly, they ran out of nem nuong and chao tom for banh hoi. I was so disappointed that I wasn't sure what to get, until I came upon Banh Cuon: Vietnamese Rice Rolls. It was delicious! I love Pho. Especially in the winter. My selection here had sliced sirloin, tendon, and tripe. It was very good, and the large serving was enough to fill even the most hearty eater. I also had one of their little sandwiches... Banh-Mi. Mine had pork, head cheese, carrot, cucumber, and some other flavors that created an oral symphony.
