I ordered Kung Pao shrimp & vegetable lo mein. They gave me Kung Pao chicken instead. I caught it and got it replaced. My 88 year old mom loves Chinese food. She moved a yr ago to be closer to family in Fulshear and struggled to find a good Chinese food place. She thinks she's found it. We ordered off the lunch menu so she got her favorite, broccoli beef and I tried the combo fried rice. Each meal came with a soup and egg roll. Pretty well done. We've been on the hunt for a good Chinese restaurant. Being for Hawaii, we have some amazing choices. We tend to frequent Tiger Noodle House, which we still enjoy, but Asian Wok nailed it for us! They're hot and sour soup was just as we love with generous portions of my favorite part, bamboo shoots! What I also love is you don't have to purchase the big bowl which sometimes Bo in else in your group wants any but you. So love that they have a small bowl option. The salt and pepper shrimp, perfection! The right amount of salt, fried fresh and a perfect crisp. Loved this and reminded me of home! This is one of our favorite dishes. Went away from the fried rice and tried the combination low mein. It was flavorful, but not over bearing. Really enjoyed! Forgot to mention, they have a free appetizer. Your "bread" before the meal if you will. It's won ton chips with sweet and sour sauce to dip. FINALLY a really good sweet and sour sauce too! It's also how it should be done, LOVED! I drench it over my white rice. :) The chicken and string beans had a little wierd taste and was like meh, maybe not this dish the next go. However, it tasted good when eating as leftovers. For appetizers we got cheese puffs and dumplings- all so good and we even noted how it tasted fresh. We always get the walnut shrimp and beef broccoli here, so yummy you won't regret. Great, local, authentic place in the back area of Crosscreek. Dining area is a little awkward, but comfortable. Place was very clean and bright and service was very attentive. We were checked on multiple times and they anticipated our needs well. Ordered small hot n sour soup, chili oil dumplings, teriyaki beef and fried spicy cabbage, both mains come with rice. Having only 30 mins. for lunch, I cannot go out so I had been on the hunt for a good Chinese restaurant nearby Brookshire/Katy area. I previously tried other places that had good yelp reviews but those were others' opinions and I wasn't impressed. Asian Wok is my "go to" place for flavor, quantity and delivery. Lately, I have been on a lo mein kick and the shrimp is plump and fresh as well as the noodles. They are not spaghetti, they are true lo/chow mein! The eggrolls are crispy and tasty as well. I opt for the lunch special which comes with an smaller entree, soup and side (eggroll or cheese puff). It is surprisingly enough food for lunch, at least for me anyway. I recommend this place and will continue to order! read more
