I love Asoul Ramen!!! Went for the first time today after finding out the same family also runs Tangs Dumplings and was not disappointed. (You can notice some of the warrior samurai hall banner decor and menu art styles are similar!) The food at Asoul Ramen is delicious; my hubby got the traditional pork shoyu ramen in spicy tonkatsu broth which had a perfectly cooked egg and rich flavor with chewy noodles. I got the Japanese katsu curry (pork option) with rice which was perfectly breaded and paired beautifully with the curry sauce with potato and carrot. It was so good dipped into the sauce!! Also not too salty. Good portion and was served with a little bowl of miso soup and a little salad with lettuce and carrot drizzled with a very tasty gingery dressing. Not to mention the restaurant is insanely aesthetic!!! Gorgeous interior with honeycomb themed tables! And pink cherry blossom tree decorations up front near their gelato section. Asoul Ramen is incredible! Finally tried Asoul Ramen and it's easily the best in the area! The space is gorgeous--those honeycomb booths feel so cozy and private. Food was phenomenal: rich tonkotsu shoyu broth, tender chashu, perfectly cooked noodles, and the spicy beef ramen had just the right kick. What an absolute unique experience! If you would like a Japanese themed experience of enjoying ramen, this is the place! The decor, service, and food was lovely! If you would like a slower paced night, I would assume to come during the week because it was quite busy! I had a party of 2 &we ended up waiting about 30 minutes before being sat at our table. We were given water right away which was nice! The menu has lots of options, so it was hard to pick just one thing! The ramen was delicious! It was very savory, but not too spicy. The scallion pancake was a little chewy, but still really tasty! I did get to try some sushi, the roll was very well balanced& was great in tasting fresh! Overall this was a great date night spot! Great place with quick ordering on the tablet. I love the convenience of ordering on the tablet and not waiting for a waiter but only downside is when I need napkins, extra plates etc now it's a problem. So if you're old school maybe you won't like it as much. Ramen was solid but a little spicy for my taste - I ordered the veggie ramen. Loved the shrimp tempura it was excellent! The pork bao was good as well and the gyoza was a favorite. My mom ordered the pork katsu and I wish the sauce was on the use because it was so spicy I could only try a bite. The Thai milk tea was good but the mango passion was way better. Needed to water it down a bit since it was super sweet but it was refreshing! First time here last week. Had our daughter here, she has been stationed in Okinawa for years with her husband. We all had wonderful food and service. It was my husbands birthday and when I mentioned it to them, they brought him a pc of cake with 3 shovel spoons, what a pleasant surprise and it was yummy! Very clean establishment and all workers were pleasant and accommodating. Bathrooms were clean. It is over an hour for us to travel but, hopefully we can visit again soon. Asoul is a trendy ramen spot in the area and has the cool 2-level honeycomb seating. There's ample seating and most parties get their own semi-private booth in the honeycomb. The menu has a decent selection of ramens, noodles, and rice dishes. We ordered a smorgasbord of appetizers and entrees. We ordered: spicy beef ramen, beef was a little chewy, but goo broth and spice level was on point. Tokyo tonkotsu shouyu ramen, the broth was the best tasting and the ramen was perfect. Japanese Curry ramen, slightly spicy but not bad, tastes like chicken ramen but better. The pork was a little dry, but dipping it worked perfectly. The Thai tea was smooth, but very flavorful. Been here a few times with friends and family. I would consider this more of an Asian fusion place than just ramen. They have a variety of items from ramen, sushi and poke to rice bowls and unique appetizers. Upon entering you are either greeted and seated by staff or there is a kiosk you can enter your name into and get a wait time. We've had to do this a few times as staff can get backed up on busy nights but never waiting more than 15 minutes for a table. The place is bigger than it looks from the outside. Reminds me of a Japanese Izakaya mixed with modern Asian aesthetics. The honeycomb and private seating is a nice touch for parties of 2-4. You order via ipad and staff will bring you your order as its ready. They check in regularly to make sure everything is well and if you need anything. I got the Tokyo Tonkatsu Ramen with extra egg and bamboo shoots, husband got the pork katsu over rice. Both dishes were huge and flavorful. I ordered a sakura matcha latte to go with no added sugar and was pleasantly surprised when the drink was mildly sweet, just to my liking. So glad a ramen specialty restaurant opened up in the area, let alone an upscale one! Asoul, as in "one soul," has a Japanese name of the same meaning (一魂). This establishment is well-designed and furnished - it impresses you even before you enter. The exterior signage is pleasing to the eyes, and the interior decor provides excellent ambiance for a nice dining experience. Seating options: Party of 1: You can sit at the bar. Party of 2: Get seated in the aisle or the 2nd / 3rd-level booth. Party of 3-6: Will get one of the first-level booths. Can't go wrong with any of these tables, except the stairs for the 3rd level can be a bit hazardous for some people. Physical menus are provided, but you order from a tablet. You can customize each item by adding extras or removing default options. You also get a running total so you know when to stop (lol). The only issue is there is no way to include special instructions such as "low sodium." Orders came within 10 minutes (the restaurant was at capacity): Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu Ramen ($16.99): This is the must-try staple for ramen (like Kong Pao chicken for Sichuan cuisine). Everything was on point. The Chashu pork was tender, the egg was satisfying as always, and the bamboo shoots added a savory umami flavor to each bite. What I was most grateful for with my bowl was that the tonkotsu broth wasn't too salty like most ramen soups out there. Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu Ramen with Black Garlic ($17.99): My son tried a different variation of Tonkotsu. The broth was darker and very noticeably garlicky. Everything else was the same. Jumbo Seafood Shrimp Ramen ($17.99): My wife also loved her choice. I sampled her soup, which has a very strong seafood taste (as in broth made from the heads of prawns). Very tasty. Lychee Shrimp Balls ($10.99): Came in 6 ground shrimp with a crisp and crunchy outer coating with toppings to make each ball look like lychee. This is nicely presented, but taste-wise, they were okay. The coating wasn't crunchy enough, and the temperature wasn't hot enough. But a good try for your dining adventure - I mean, I haven't heard of Lychee Shrimp Balls before. Another miss was this came 5-10 after the ramen, even though this is an appetizer. Regardless, overall this was A+. A must-try. P.S. Sakura Macha is coming soon at the counter in the waiting area. Loved the honeycomb seating here! We were a decent sized group but the seating reduced the noise from other parties making it easy to converse. Service is via tablet. We both ordered the Japanese Styled Cutlet with Rice & Katsu Curry. We ordered the chicken cutlet and then I ordered 2sides of Tempura Shrimp! Our meals came out hot and delicious! We finally got to try the new Ramen restaurant at the Capital City Mall! You put your name on a waiting list via a computer. It's an easy process and you can see where you are in the list on your phone. We didn't have much of a wait! We shared a couple of appetizers- the beef scallion pancakes, bao buns and chili edamame! They were all delicious but I highly recommend the beef scallion pa cakes! So flavorful and not like anything you typically get! For the entrees, we ordered the spicy beef ramen, Mad Dog sushi and Monster Shrimp Sushi. Wow!! The items came out quick and they were all delicious! The sushi rolls were plenty as an entree! We also started with the Lychee shrimp balls which had an awesome presentation when they came out. The last thing we ordered to start with was the Tokyo Tacos. They were great and all 3 were different but equally good. Our son got a California roll. My wife ordered the Tornado Omelet fried rice and I ordered Teriyaki chicken rice. We all enjoyed what we got. For dessert our son got the Salted Carmel swirl shake which he enjoyed. All the food came out very fast which was great. The only thing that was lacking was service speed. You order from a tablet and if you need a server you request them on the tablet. We requested a server and waited at least 10min just to get them to come and get some napkins. Me and my lady were going out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The objective was to go somewhere a little bit above the quality of our usual haunts ,both in food quality and ambiance while also not trying to break the bank. First thing I will say is Asoul knocks affordable and swanky out the park, you'd be hard pressed to find anything quite like it around these parts. I was lookin up a sheik local spot and Asoul popped onto my feed. My first thought was, why is a place in DC being suggested to me in Harrisburg. Lo and behold I clicked the link and sure enough it was in Camp hill of all places. We simply had to go. Here's where my gripes with the restaurant start. First thing we walked in, no one greeted us, the staff where all tending to their tasks without any acknowledgment of our presence and it wasn't obviously clear how to get seated upon first walking into the restaurant. So we confusingly wondered deeper into the restaurant while still not being acknowledged. At a point someone came and sat us. I guess this part is on me, but it wasn't your standard get sat and be waited on sort of fair. You order your meal on a tablet and call for service on the tablet, the wait staff doesn't check up on you. Which is fine but what I will say is the wait staff seemed disinterested at best throughout the whole process, there was no moment where I felt they were anywhere near attentive. But low in behold the appetizers came out quickly, and they were some of the best apps I've probably had. I got a chicken sticky bun, it had had a sweet soy sauce and sriracha aioli on it with a cucumber for crunch and it was simply perfection. The only thing I would suggest is if they used bigger cucumber slices to add a bit more of a crunch. After that we got our sushi and again it was probably one of the best sushi rolls I had ever had. The spicy aioli, the salmon the rice was just all done to perfection. Next onto my dinner, I got Spicy Beef Ramen. First thing I want to say is I'm not a frequent sushi eater, so I may not have the most critical eye for it. But Ramen is one of my favorites dishes. And this Ramen tasted somewhat bland to me. The Beef tasted dry and chewy and the broth tasted somewhat bland. I guess I may be spoiled because I usually go to Issei Noodle and they're simply leagues beyond this. It was passable, and idd try other types of Ramen off of their menu but It was no where near my favorite ramen. And you know maybe the beef simply wasn't up my alley I usually prefer a ground pork. So long story short, this was truly a mixed bag experience for me. This place was sincerely one of the coolest local restaurants I've seen but I got some of the most lack luster service I've ever got dining out. I can't tell if that's somewhat by design because the restaurant is set up in a sort of fast casual self service style. Some of the food was literally some of the best stuff I've had while the ramen was subpar at best to me. It's all subjective, idd say if you're looking for an affordable great local experience Idd say Asoul is a must, it's affordable, swanky and tasty but it's far from perfect. You may has a difference experience than I me. I'll have to go back again to give my final verdict. read more

My husband and I were excited to try this place but unfortunately we probably won't be back and it takes a lot for me to write a place off. Service was terrible. Since it was our first time and they weren't busy we requested to sit in one of the honeycombs. The host seemed annoyed by this as well as all of the servers. No one explained how ordering works and when we asked about my husband's nut allergy the girl just kept saying "I'm not sure haha" and was reluctant to ask the kitchen. Server forgot my drink and plates to go with our appetizer and thought it was funny. Our roll and crab Rangoon was decent but our ramen meals were terrible. The bamboo shoots had a putrid smell that turned us off from eating and turned my stomach. 11/2024 Asoul Ramen is an unexpectedly awesome new restaurant that the Capital City Mall area didn't know it needed!! The bright storefront excitedly drew me in. Upon entering, I was greeted with a similar feel of my recent trips to Japan. The entrance is large with a dining check-in screen & benches to sit, browse at a menu & take in the charming decor including a lovely cherry tree. With the restaurant bustling just before 7pm, our wait wasn't long. I know I gasped when we walked into the dining area to be seated. Check out the photos! We ordered the Scallion Pancake with Teriyaki Beef appetizer, Korea BBQ Beef (obsessed with the included shredded cabbage!), Spicy Korean Kimchi Ramen, Marinated Egg & a slice of Mango Mille Crepe Cake. Before I start reviewing the food there are two things I must say. Number one, the service is here is absolutely outstanding! The staff is attentive, efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. Secondly, the ambiance is just out of this world, its bright, futuristic, and honestly just so fun to experience. We don't have anything else like it in the area so it stands out in the best way. As for the food, the bao buns were delish ( pork ) would definitely suggest and all of the sushi tasted fresh! However the shrimp tempura had a bit to much breading for my liking and for this to be a ramen place, I think the bao buns outshined the ramen. I've been wanting to try this place since it opened back in October. We finally had the time to stop this weekend and I'm so glad we did! First of all the restaurant is beautiful inside, they did a fantastic job with the decor. Everything is order by tablet, so you scroll through, choose what you want and hit send to kitchen. Once it's up a waiter will bring it to you. Now the food was amazing!! One of the best choices for Ramen in our area. We started with an appetizer of the Crab Rangoons ($8.99) and the Deep Fried Chicken Gyoza ($7.99). The crab rangoons were served on top of a kiwi sauce that was so unique and delicious and you could tell the rangoons themselves were homemade and not the frozen ones that most restaurants use. The gyoza were the best gyoza I've had in my life! They were perfectly crispy and savory and the sauces on top added a nice sweetness and some spice. For dinner we split 2 entrees, the General Tsos Chicken Ramen ($17.99) and the Crimson Coast Sushi Roll ($14.99). The General Tsos Chicken Ramen is a special for spring but I really hope they choose to keep it on the menu. The chicken was amazing, it was crispy and had the perfect amount of the general tsos sauce. The ramen and broth were also very good and definitely the best ramen I've had in this area. The only complaint I had is the chicken got soggy really quick, if they served it on the side so you could add it while eating I think that would have been better. The crimson coast sushi roll was delicious, the fish was so fresh tasting and it was the perfect combination of ingredients. We finished off with the Mango Crepe Cake ($9.99). I had never had a crepe cake before and I'm so glad I finally have! The crepes made it so it wasn't too rich and was actually felt light, the filling between each layer was super creamy and the mango flavor really came through. I would love to try the other flavors.
