My brother brought me to Tempura Grill for a late lunch on a Saturday as a surprise. He said he had sushi here once before & he noted it enough for a return visit. It is a fairly subdued exterior and shares a building with an audiologist office and a chiropractic office. Inside the restaurant is lovely. The decor is clean and classy. There's frosted windows and a fireplace. We had a party of four and the seating was comfortable. We had edamame and hot green tea. The service was quick and very courteous, although I did have to ask for chopsticks. The cups the tea came in were beautiful. The edamame was lightly salted and that touch of salt outside made the beans almost sweet. I ordered a chirashi entree and the plating was lovely. The fish was fresh and the rice was well seasoned. Great food and great service. This place is empty but they are busy because most people order it to go and pick up at the drive thru. So I decided to stop in and eat which is great! No wait for service or food. The sushi is always fresh and flavorful. Made with high quality ingredients and sooo good. I stuck with the tempura for most of my sushi. Ordered on doordash. Ordered the california cheese roll but was just given a regular california roll which was disappointing. Their yum yum sauce is okay, not the best not the worst. Crab rangoons are also different than normal ones because there are carrots inside as well. They have a great lunch special where you can choose 2 or 3 rolls. However, again unlike other sushi spots, shrimp tempura is not an option. There are definitely better sushi places in the area, but this is a decent middle of the road option overall. read more

Stopped in on their 3rd day and I'm impressed. We arrived 30 minutes before closing and they still knocked it out of the park despite it being later. Water arrived within minutes. Order was quickly taken. Because of what we ordered, we each had the choice of soup or salad. My son thought my miso soup was too salty, but I thought it was one of the best miso soups I ever had. The salad was good. Crisp iceberg, spiral carrots, and the dressing was nice. The dressing was a little sweet, but tasty. We ordered several rolls. Simple rolls are $6 and fancy rolls are $13. The $6 spicy California and spice salmon rolls were decent but not exciting. The $9 Eurasian roll was really different and very good. I'd definitely get it again. The swanky $13 rolls included Mr Crab, Dragon, and Tai Tai. The Mr Crab was lightly battered and a nice combo of flavors. The Dragon was up to par with other goid sushi places, and the Tai Taii was different and tasty, but I thought the crunchy crust was too overpowering for the del8cate insides. The seaweed salad was $6 and very fresh and the serving size was generous compared to similar restaurants. Service was fast and gracious snd I very much recommend trying this new place. read more

A friend and I dined at Tempura Grill around 5pm on a Sunday night. Neither of us had ever been and we were very pleased. It's a charming little place with approximately 7-8 tables and a drive thru window. The place was surprisingly busy and we grabbed the 2nd to the last table. I had brought a bottle of wine so we got wine glasses and when I asked for a wine chiller, they were very kindly accommodating by giving me a metal wine cooler with ice water. We ordered a sushi appetizer, which stated that it consisted of four pieces and ended up getting two appetizers consisting of 4 pieces each of sashimi over a rice ball. The sashimi was very fresh and delicious. My friend then ordered other sushi and I ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi and it was so good. Both of our meals start with the typical salad with ginger dressing, which was an ample serving and very good. I really don't have one thing to complain about other than the server. She did not speak above a very faint whisper. There is music playing inside the place for ambiance and I couldn't hear a word she was saying without asking her to repeat herself numerous times. We are big sushi fans and saw a good review for Tempura Grill when we happened to be in the area. Although we were surprised by how small the dining room is. We felt at home and not crowded. The atmosphere is gentle and cozy, with nice calm jazz playing in the background. But the FOOD is the main thing. We got a variety of sushi rolls to try and they were delicious. The tempura battered roll was battered a little thicker than preferred, but that is a minor criticism. The fish and vegetable ingredients are very fresh and tasty. The mango shrimp roll was our favorite. And although we didn't intend to order hibachi before we came, we smelled someone else's order and had to try it. We got the chicken, which was cooked perfectly and seasoned so well with a bed of grilled veggies underneath. The rice and sauce made this dish a home run, and we will definitely be back if we find ourselves in the area. 10/10 highly recommend! read more

We ordered the Chicken and Steak Hibachi and Shrimp Udon Stir Fry to go. Food was ready very quickly and fun fact you can pick up at a drive thru for call in orders! We did not know so we went inside, the inside is welcoming with plenty of tables. The vegatables were fresh, perfectly cooked meats, udon noodles were amazing, and the rice was very good. Price was very resonable, less than $22 per person with plenty of leftovers. We will frequent this place based on ease of pick up and high quality of food. read more
