I went for a checkup, they barley looked at my teeth and said I had 11 cavities, needed a root canal, my wisdom teeth taken out, she poked my gums so hard to the point where they bled and said I had gingivitis. My dumbass believed her and the total cost came to $2,000 with insurance. The front desk lady tried to charge me almost 200$ for an electric toothbrush?!! I visited this clinic for an emergency appointment due to excruciating tooth pain from a filling done elsewhere. The dentist told me there was no infection and advised me to return to my original dentist to have the filling redone. However, it turned out I did have an infection (I went private today for an EMERGENCY root canal), something they either overlooked or weren't experienced enough to identify on the X-ray. The dentist said she didn't want to give me antibiotics as theres 'no' infection. I was also told that root canal consultations for next month weren't open yet, and that I'd hear back in a week. So, despite being in severe pain that brought me to tears, I was expected to wait another week with an untreated infection. Honestly, I'd rather go through labour again than endure that pain. If you're not prepared to act on genuine emergencies, don't offer emergency services. The only positive aspect of my visit was the front desk staff, they were friendly, understanding, and compassionate but unfortunately assuming the practices rules they couldn't book me in for a root canal. Never EVER going back to corporate """""dentist""" ever again. read more

MONEY! That's it. That is their business; to make money. I tried to establish as a new patient because of the convenient location. All I wanted was to have my teeth cleaned because I dont' have any dental issues. Doc examined me and then said she wouldn't clean my teeth until I had extensive work done because " my mouth was so bad". It is not. Tartar yes, other issues - NO. Straight white teeth, always brushed and no gum issues, pain or cavities. They quoted me $7k for the 'work that needs to be done'. Only after the work was completed, spanning over 3 months, would they clean my teeth. I know a sales pitch when I hear it. NO MORALS. Just money. Never again. read more

This Aspen dental alone is a prime example as to why you should never go to a chain company. They make it very obvious that you are not cared for as a patient but you are a number to them. The entire process dealing with aspen has been nothing short of a nightmare. So incredibly stressful and frustrating to even get a phone call back. Please be careful about getting any treatment/ care done at this office. They are truly out to charge as much money they can for "treatment" that was not completed. The headache this office has caused me and my husband is worse than anything I've ever experienced solely due to the fact that no one seems to follow up no matter how many times you call and ask for a manager. I repeat, please be careful about getting any treatment done at this office. The hygienist was rude and the regional manager, Toni was nice at first and then completely ignored me after signing a records release form questioning treatment.. never received the records or any resolution. Update: I've been trying to get a resolution since August and have contact this number provided below numerous times with zero help from anyone on the "team." My first impression, as I was walking towards the office, is that it is not professionally, or otherwise, cleaned. Furthermore, the floors were filthy, and this was on a Monday morning. Moreover, I had joined the savings plan. However, when I was presented with the bill, and I said that I was under the impression that x-rays, etc., were free, I was told that they are 20% off. Online, the plan clearly states that the x-rays and exam are free. Of course, the bill was not itemized. There was also a charge on my bill for work that the doctor said might have to be done in the future!!! This brought the bill up to $4500.00. I quickly stated that I was not having that work done at present, so Natalie deducted it. However, my bill was still a whopping $1600.00 dollars. That was for the exam, x-rays. cleaning, and 2 fillings. As a retired widow on a fixed income, I must say that such a fee is difficult to manage, but I paid the entire balance, rather than have to pay interest over the course of the next few months. Frankly, I would have walked out if I had not lost a filling from a front tooth. There also seemed to be a great deal of confusion. There was only one dentist on my first visit, so I could not have my filling replaced. I was given two appointments for the following day: 9AM cleaning, and 10AM fillings. When the hygienist completed the cleaning, she said, "I see that your fillings will be done at 11. I quickly protested, and that problem was rectified. When I met with the dentist, who obviously had not even glanced at my health history, she asked the same questions I had been asked the day before. She asked if I had any allergies, and if I take any medication and have any health problems. When I answered "no" to the two latter questions, she just stared at me. I repeated my answer, and she continued to stare, and said "Not even blood pressure?" I told her that I am very healthy and take excellent care of myself. Finally, when she was about to start working on me, she stated that the tooth minus the filling wasn't even listed under the work she was supposed to do!!! I said that that tooth was the reason for my visit! It seems that the dental assistant had recorded the wrong tooth!!! When all was done, she just walked out, and rushed to the next patient. I could mention more, but I am sure you can see why I will not be recommending Aspen Dental to my friends -- maybe my enemies! By the way, one of the fillings already fell out! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. My husband got his teeth pulled and dentures from here. Here it is TWO years later - and I am still fighting with them to send the xrays and narratives (for the anesthesia) to my insurance company. I paid my co-pay totally up front - and yet because they have failed to send these things to the insurance company - they are threatening us with collections. I have sent certified letters to the main office and the allentown office - and that has done no good. Run, Run, Run from them - I wish we had done more due diligence first. I'd give less than 1 star if I could. The Free Exam/X-Ray - isn't free if you have insurance (read the very small fine print that no one can see). Don't advise a new student customer when presenting the postcard AND insurance card at the time of appointment. Offer to have current x-rays sent, yet are advised they need to take their own then CHARGE you because insurance limits number of times X-ray are allowed. This is a rip-off company! read more

I have good insurance and I have Never had to pay for an exam and x-rays when a company is in network. And they checked my insurance before my visi. ALL THEY WANTED WAS TO GET MONEY OUT OF ME AND LIED TO MY FACE ABOUT MY INSURANCE AND COSTS AND THE TRUE SITUATION IN MY MOUTH. I haven't been to a dentist in over two years because i was traveling abroad. However, I have always been meticulous about my teeth and knew they were ok but needed a general cleaning. I called Aspen because it was close to my work. First of all, for a cleaning, they require to do an assessment first of the situation. That already put me off balance, but I agreed to go. On the day I went, the staff was hardly friendly at the entrance and it made me feel like I was not welcome. Then, they sent me to get the x-rays. The x-ray specialist was no specialist at all, she kept hurting my mouth more than is expected and another specialist had to come by at least 5 times to correct her. 3 times she was putting the plaque upside down or on the wrong side, kept telling me to put my tongue down like a dog? I was NOT happy. After the X-rays, we went to an office where another technician came to check my gums, I know they pinch your gums a bit to check the status but she pinched so hard a lot bled and my count was between 3 and mostly 4's so, bad but not terrible. The dentist came over and did NOT ONCE open my mouth to look at it. They just told me I had bacteria in between my gums and i would have to get a treatment. After I left they said they would call me with a quote. They called me later that day and told me that the total for the procedure would be around $1,200 outside of my insurance, because it does not cover the water pushing to clean my gums and also it only cover 1 filling and no cavities! It felt so wrong that I decided I needed a second opinion, so I called my first option dentist who hadn't been able to schedule me before because he was on vacation and was able to schedule for the next day. When I went to the second dentist, they went straight ahead to clean my teeth, listen to what I told them about my experience the previous day and assured me it did not look as bad as they made it seem. They also called my insurance and were told by my insurance that it covered EVERYTHING! I had my teeth cleaned the process Aspen was charging me $900 done while cleaning my teeth and agree to a follow after 6 months to see the progress and see if it was so bad. It's been two weeks and I already see a difference in my gums. Honestly, after this experience with ASPEN I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE! ALL THEY WANTED WAS TO GET MONEY OUT OF ME AND LIED TO MY FACE ABOUT MY INSURANCE AND COSTS AND THE SITUATION IN MY MOUTH. Please if you go I urge you to get a second opinion, they are not that cheap, the second dentist was more experienced and cheaper and also are only interested in milking free extra money out of you. I came in for a cleaning and whitening this afternoon and had a great experience. I have pretty bad anxiety when it comes to getting any dental work done, but I felt very calm today. My hygienists, Alessia and Julia, were fantastic. They had great bedside manner, were very gentle, and really made me comfortable. They really had concern for my comfort and well-being, and I will definitely be requesting them when I return to get more work done. My teeth look great! read more

Previous employees have admitted that they are told to "sell," and I'm sure that includes unnecessary dental work. Before going to aspen dental I had 0 cavities. The year and a half I was there they told me I had a number of issues and had to get 7 cavities filled. The year after I left Ive had 0 cavities. They did unnecessary procedures and Xrays while I was a patient. My first time there the doctor was so unbelievably shocked that not only had I received routine dental care my entire life but that I was also currently using an electronic toothbrush and special prescription toothpaste. Making me believe that my teeth and dental habits must have been so awful to still have the number of cavities that I had. I had insurance but it wasn't great. I lost over $800 getting cavities filled that didn't really need to be. My 3rd and last visit was with a different doctor, she was either honest or felt bad for me because she said everything was fine with my teeth. This is my rating and review based on my appointment yesterday. I drove through a tornado watch and terrestrial rain to make my appointment on time. Two men were in the waiting room ahead of me. It took about 20 minutes just to call someone back ( at 3:20 pm). The 3 of us there at 3 pm were not called) after waiting 30 minutes, one said he couldn't wait anymore and left. At the 45 Minuit mark, I went up to the desk getting ready to leave, myself. I was told that people with earlier appointments were late. Some as much as 30 minuets well that isn't a smart way to run a business. You take care of the people who are on time and in front of you. It's not my problem others were late. My visit took literally 2 minuets. Two! They really pissed my afternoon away. Hope they are more intelligent and considerate next time. read more

I was able to get an appointment very quickly when I was in need to be looked at ASAP due to severe tooth pain. The receptionist, office manager and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly. Place is clean and welcoming. I was seen by Dr. Sharobiem, the oral surgeon. He made me feel comfortable and explained my X-rays clearly and what he was doing during my procedure step by step. He made sure I did not experience much pain. I unfortunately had to pay out of pocket for a wisdom tooth extraction which was insanely pricey, but honestly I'd pay the extra money to have an oral surgeon who genuinely cares about his patients. If you need a tooth pulled I'd recommend this place, but only if you have a few extra hundred of dollars available. read more

I have been with Aspen Dental for quite some time and where I at first never had a bad experience I have in the past few months got the most horrid experience ever! I went to get a check up and knew I would need my wisdom teeth out. Holly told me it would be .... amount of money via my insurance I paid in full before my wisdom teeth procedure and got in Oral Surgeon was fantastic! But when my mom found out she had a high amount of credit in her account 2 months before my procedure it was never returned to her until she threatened to contact corporate. I then found out after 2-3 months I also had a credit on my account of a decent amount from my wisdom tooth procedure that no one had never told me about after telling them I would not be returning to their office because of the disrespect towards my mother not only for the situation I mentioned but for many more. Customer service and management at this facility is poor and disgusting. All staff in my opinion should be retrained on how to treat their patients. read more

Two experiences with this place. First, my girlfriend had her wisdom teeth removed. After the procedure, they sent her out of the operating room while she was still under anesthesia. She couldn't even walk yet. They said they have another appointment in that room. She almost fell over when I tried to unlock the car door. Second, her daughter had a toothache. She went in and they told her right off she needed a root canal. She freaked out and ran out of the room! She said the people in the room were rude. So I sent her to my Dentist in New Jersey. I made my appointment for a dental check-up. I have severe dental anxiety, but knew it was time to be seen. This was my first...and last visit to Aspen Dental. I was taken back about 20 minutes past my appointment time, no biggie. I had the panorex done, then was taken to a room to have the individual x-rays done. About 5 x-rays in the machine stopped working. The assistant was trying everything to get it to work as I sat there with the x-ray film in the holder cutting into the roof of my mouth. Then, another assistant walked up to try to help her. They kept trying to reboot the computer and it still didn't work. Finally, one of them called tech support and was put on hold. I then heard them discussing in the hallway how this happened a couple of times last week, too. Perhaps routine maintenance would prevent this from happening repeatedly? The experience's that I've had at this office with the dentists, office manager, and staff have been nothing but positive. They made a great first impression and continue to provide excellent service. I must say for the "dreaded dentist", the staff at this office makes it anything but. To the point where I look forward to going for my appointments. They know me by name and I rarely ever have an extended wait. Even for my check ups now, they still know me by name when I go in. I'm so thankful that I found this office and that I was able to afford my treatment. They're not kidding when they say they can and will give you your smile back. This rating is on the office staff Holly. I was told by Stroudsburg office I needed a root canal. I was approved for their credit plan only for crowns so I wanted to also use it for root canal. Aspen has a traveling specialist. I contacted all the office early February and was promised by Holly she would contacted the my home office for my chart and she would see if she could squeeze me in. I was never called back. I called again and then I called the Stroudsburg who said they would called the Allentown office and called me back neither did. After all this I was able to get into the Easton office for 2/8. My root canal is a one day procedure however when the specialist was unable to complete it because one of my roots needed a machine. Guess what the machine was not on site. So the appointment was scheduled for 3/8. As it stands facing extreme pain. I called the Allentown office and got Holly. The specialist is on site on 3/1. I was told that she had to call Stroudsburg office for my records and then she if she would be able to fit me in and have the machine on precise. I told her she didn't call me back previously. She goes I didn't call you back told her no you didn't. Holly stated I will call you back. Guess what she never called me. This office has very bad customer service. read more

They don't tell you that the first visit is only xrays and a dentist selling you future care. They hide behind this fact . They will blame the call center for not telling you that they do not do what every other other dentist will do for new clients, and that is at least a basic cleaning. I would assume that at least 30% of new clients would not come in if they were told up front that NO CLEANING or PROCEDURE will occur on the first visit, they never explicitly say that - then they get rude when you question it. Worst cookie-cutter business I have ever been exposed to. Worst yet is I scheduled my appointment for a cleaning, for my wife and I and we end up losing a combined 2.5 hours of work for nothing. BE AWARE - SCAMMERS. BTW - Called another dentist and they told me they get calls from others complaining about the same experience.
