You are looking at a woman who is totally terrified of dentists, caused by many bad experiences when I was young! I broke a tooth and knew I had no choice but to bite the bullet and get it fixed! I asked a friend where I should go and this is where she led me. I had a panic attack before going and did not sleep the night before. Let me tell you that from the moment I opened the door and stepped inside I saw welcoming staff that immediately assured me that I was in good hands. The front desk staff was actually treating me like a person and not just a name on a chart! I was surprised...still terrified but comforted. I met Dr. Parsons and was immediately struck by his relaxed and friendly manner. He immediately put me at ease and was very reassuring and supportive. Nothing like I had ever experienced before! He fixed the broken tooth before I realized it was finished! It was the BEST experience I have ever had! Pain?? What pain?? There was none! I was shocked! Went back in today and the same result! I finally feel like I can handle getting my dental health back on track! I recommend them to a friend, Michelle, who broke her front tooth and is more afraid then I was. She went in two days ago and had Dr. Clark. She called me raving about her happy experience and is actually looking forward to going back next week to get other maintenance started! Unbelievable!! They seem to have problems and or confusion in the billing department. They canceled our dental insurance. Surprisingly, this is the insurance that they recommended! Then when we asked if we could have a payment plan. They said no, they wanted to be paid in full. The day I went down to personally pay the debt. I found out that most of the bill had already been paid by the insurance company 5 months ago. So I paid off the bill, and told them I won't be back. read more

My husband and I have been using Bethlehem Smiles for over 10 years and can truthfully say that the dentists and staff are "excellent". They are caring and efficient. Besides normal dental care I recently needed 2 implants. The whole process took quite a while but the finished product is fantastic. I got a series of red lights with Bethlehem Smiles as a practice, and as a patient. Sore and irritated red gums, and a cracked tooth led me to seek out a new dentist who is, Dr. Jacquline Owens from Bethlehem Smiles, Bethlehem PA. I was with Bethlehem Smiles as a patient complaining of pain from July 17th till September 19th, 8 weeks. All I received was a series of misdiagnosis misbilling, and hesitancy. On September 19th, I found a new Dentist who IMMEDIATELY drilled out my bad crown and relieved me of my pain and agony. I received no help, comfort or compassion from either Dr. Jacquline Owens, or her practice. read more

We had an amazing first experience at Bethlehem Smiles. I brought my two young children, ages 4 and 6. Dr. Owens was thorough, super sweet, and took her time with each of them. The hygienists were very patient. I felt like we were at a pediatric-specific dentist with the way we were all treated! I cannot believe how Bethlehem Smiles is treating me. I was a patient there from 1999 through 2012 , my whole family went there , my husband myself and my 2 sons . I spent so much money there to be treated so poorly. I went through a divorce in 2012 and went through a VERY difficult time becoming a single mother of two small children. Unfortunately when you go through something as devastating as a divorce things happen, I was late with a $25 co-pay that somehow got stuck in a pile of mail that was accidentally forwarded to my ex-husband new address. When I found out I immediately paid it off in 2012 and apologetically explained what happened. The office manager was extremely rude and unsympathetic. While I understand it's a business, I was a loyal patient with a family of 4 who referred a lot of patients there and none of that was taken into consideration. Fast forward 6 years later , I tired to get an appointment and the receptionist tells me my chart is flagged that I was sent to collection's. It was a mistake , and I've paid the $25 six years ago and I'm being treated like a criminal. Shame on you for treating one of your biggest fans so poorly. I have had bad experiences with dentists before and when mine retired I was worried about finding a new dentist. The waiting room at Bethlehem Smiles was crowded first thing in the morning but emptied quickly. When I went back, I saw why and was nervous. There were cubicles with dental chairs all over. It turns out that you move to different stations for different dentists or techs, for instance to get your teeth cleaned you move to one station to get checked another station. Everyone there from the reception desk, all the way through were so kind, patient and put me at ease. They discussed what I needed done and how much it would cost as well as ways to save money and spread out the work. I was quite pleased with my treatment, and I think Bethlehem Smiles was fantastic!! read more

Very disappointed and wish we could rate them higher! My husband and I and our family have been patronizing Bethlehem Smiles for many years and, unfortunately, the office personnel are not as attentive to their patients as in the past. We are cash paying customers and we recently made our appointments and informed them that we continue to be cash paying customers. At checkout, after my husband's cleaning had been completed, he was informed the cost had increased $19 (12.75%) from his previous visit earlier this year. I phoned the office regarding this unforeseen matter and first spoke to Crystal, and then Eucinia the office manager. Eucinia stated that their costs rise every year and she began arguing with me concerning the increased amount. However, this increase occurred in the same calendar year and this information should have been revealed when we scheduled our appointments. Needless to say, we cancelled our upcoming appointments and we will be patronizing another dental establishment. Another unexpected and undisclosed office failure was my husband's dentist, Dr. Parsons, was out of the office that day and he experienced an unfamiliar dentist. read more

Not only did Dr Carlis drop an instrument in my father's mouth but he stabbed him in the cheek as he was trying to remove it. He left the tooth that he put a cavity in rough. He was in a rush to take care of another patient who came in the office. When my elderly father complained, he was told not to come back. A really horrible way to treat a patient, especially one from a vulnerable population. read more

Bethlehem Smiles is an outstanding group of dentists, hygienists, and staff. I have been a patient of theirs for about 4 years, and I'm consistently satisfied with their care. Everyone in the office is professional, friendly, and accommodating. They have squeezed me in on the same day when I called and said I was having bad tooth pain. Their office is very nice and modern. With their system, they are able to show you x-rays immediately to describe any issues there may be. I usually see Dr. Parsons, a very personable guy who explains things to you in a way that is easy to understand. I have also had appointments with Drs. I searched a long time to find a dentist that would be willing to work with my special needs son without putting him under general anesthesia. I have been coming to this office for over 20 years. The receptionists and dental hygiene staff at Bethlehem Smiles are always wonderful, but the dentists themselves leave much to be desired. It was not always this way, however, my past few appointments have left me feeling very frustrated and I believe I have finally had enough. I will NOT be returning to this office! Dr. Owens is hands-down one of the most unprofessional and unfriendly dentists I have ever encountered. Quite honestly, I am not sure how she is able to keep patients with her poor attitude. During a recent exam she did not address me directly even once, as if I wasn't even there, only speaking to the dental hygienist and making many rude comments. When she walked away I had no idea what the plan of treatment was or what the next steps were in my care and the hygienist actually had to go find her again and ask her what she wanted done. Just moved into the area and went to this practice for the first time. I was very impressed with the staff...they were all friendly and helpful. Dr. Parsons seems very competent and agreed with my dentist from where I had lived before that I did not have peridontal disease...a diagnosis that another bethlehem dentist from another practice...insisted i had.
